Angel, only known vampire with a soul and cursed with it, was frustrated. He'd hoped to finally make contact with the Slayer, Buffy Summers, tonight. He'd been watching and longing for the beautiful girl for a year now and felt he was finally ready to approach her. Not to mention he had a very important message to deliver to her. But she'd eluded him and all he could do was watch helplessly as she quickened her pace and arrived at her destination, a club called the Bronze, as evidenced by the neon sign above the door, before he could reach her. He saw her pay the cover charge and disappear inside. He stayed in the shadows across the street, watching, hoping she'd come back out soon but prepared to wait as long as needed to deliver his message and more importantly, finally meet her. He just needed to be patient a little longer.

Alex pulled up to the Chase Mansion and entered the code for the gate, once it had slid open he drove up to the house to pick up Cordelia for their date. He parked and went to the front door where he was admitted by Lupe, the Chase family housekeeper.

"Alex." Cordelia's father, Charles Chase, Prime Alpha of their pack, greeted him. "Cordelia told me about the body in Aura's locker and Aura's father called too. What can you tell me?"

"Vampire and given that he preferred girls, a female one."

"Well, that's good and bad. Bad, because vampires are cockroaches and good, because it means our territory isn't being invaded. I appreciate you taking care of it."

"No problem, well not that it was fun, disposing of a dead body is not how I wanted to spend my free period, but definitely necessary. And my father may come from a wild pack, but I'm part of your extended pack, it's my territory too and Aura's my responsibility. It's done."

"Good, Cordelia will be down in a minute. Enjoy your evening."

"Yes, Sir." Cordelia appeared a few minutes later and they headed out to his car.

"I heard." She told him. "Vamp. Ruined Aura's day and pissed me off."

"Don't blame you, it was damn careless of the vamp to leave its leftovers in the school, that just invites trouble." He drove toward the Bronze and changed the subject. "So new girl, anything of interest?"

"She's not a Wolfblood and she was very chummy with Willow. Beyond that, her name is Buffy."

"Seriously? Buffy? Someone actually named their kid Buffy? A name like that invites bullies to have a field day, even in California."

"You're not going to comment on her being chummy with Willow?"

"Willow and I aren't exactly friends anymore and you know why. She still thinks I joined the football team because of a bet. She has no idea I joined because your dad suggested it as a way of dealing with the stresses of beginning to transform. And I stayed on the team because I actually enjoy it. Plus, it's hot watching you cheer for me."

"Plus she was very obvious with her crush and it made you uncomfortable."

"That too." He pulled up in front of the Bronze and parked. "Looks like Jesse and Aura are already here." He pointed at Jesse's car. He circled around the car and opened Cordelia's door for her. She tucked her hand into his and the two entered the Bronze, looking for their friends, who were holding their usual table for them.

Buffy looked around the Bronze and spotted Willow and Johnathan at a table and made her way over to them.

"Hi! Can I join you?" She asked.

Surprised that Buffy had actually sought her out, Willow barely managed to avoid babbling. "Yeah, sure, there's a free seat." She indicated the extra one and Buffy accepted it.

"Have you guys been dancing? Although, I'm not sure anyone should be dancing to this."

"They're not exactly the best band we've had." Johnathan agreed. "On the other hand, a few people are managing to dance." He nodded at the people on the dance floor, all of whom looked liked they were having seizures. The three continued making small talk and tried not to winch whenever the band hit a screeching note.

Over at Alex's table, he and his group were having even more trouble. "Gods, this is hurting my ears." Alex muttered.

"You're not the only one." Jesse agreed. "Maybe we should get out of here, as much as I want to spend time with you guys, the abuse of my eardrums is making it hard to enjoy it."

"I'd like to agree," Cordelia said. "but there's a fashion victim hanging out in one of the swing chairs and its female." She pointed at a blond dressed as a catholic school girl, which made her stick out like a sore thumb, not that the guy she was talking to seem to notice.

"A vamp?" Aura said. "And female, possibly the one who left her leftovers in my locker. Maybe we should ask her."

"I agree." Alex decided. "And we should do it now, since she's got a fish on the hook." The four Wolfblood teens silently followed the blond vampire and her intended victim out of the Bronze while Buffy spotted the annoying Watcher on the catwalk scanning the dance floor. He stuck out more than a vampire. She excused herself from Willow and Johnathan, claiming a need to use the bathroom and made her way up the stairs to try to flick the annoying fly buzzing in her ear. Otherwise known as a Watcher.
