Jesse stepped up to the guy who'd left out the back of the Bronze with the vamp. "You always hang out with another guy's girl?" He asked.

"Hey man, she never said she was with anyone." The guy protested.

"Well, she's spoken for, so hit the road." Deciding he didn't want to be involved with whatever drama was currently happening, the guy took off.

"What's your problem?" The vamp asked.

"I just didn't want to see him get his throat ripped out. Has anyone told you, you stink. Seriously, rotting corpse is not a good smell."

The vampire narrowed her eyes at him. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Yes, you do." Alex said, stepping out of the shadows. "You're a vampire. Are you the vampire that left a dead body in a locker in the High School?"

Giving up the pretext, the blond vamped out. "Why do you want to know?"

Cordelia stepped out of the shadows. "Because it pissed me off."

"And I'm annoyed because it was my locker the body was left in." Aura stepped out as well. The vampire realized she was surrounded, but figured she could handle four blood bags.

"I'll leave bodies wherever I feel like it."

"I thought you'd say that." Alex said. "That means we're going to need to make an example of you. Leftovers call unnecessary attention, not just to vampires, but to others as well. And we really don't like or want that kind of attention. And we're just going to have to tear through every vampire that refuses to get the message." His eyes darkened and then turned gold and glowed, the veins in his neck stood out in stark contrast to his skin. Before the vampire could react, a wolf landed on her back driving her to the ground. Three others followed it, jaws clamping down and tearing through the vampire's body until it turned to dust. Shaking the dust off himself Alex changed back. "Well, this date night is a bust, called on account of vampire. Which means I have another reason to be annoyed at them."

Shaking the dust off herself, Cordelia turned back as well. "Yeah, between the obnoxious music and the obnoxious vampire, the night's shot. We might as well head home."

Jesse and Aura also shook themselves and then turned back. "I need a shower after that." Aura decided. "I mean, how can they not notice how much they stink? Their senses are supposed to be better than an average human's."

"Maybe they get use to it." Jesse suggested as the four teens headed to the cars parked on the other side of the Bronze, their night over.

Inside the Bronze Buffy stopped next to the Watcher. "Is there a reason why you're acting like a creepy stalker? Can't you get the hint, I don't want to talk to you. Watcher or not, following me here is just plain creepy."

"I didn't follow you, I heard Willow tell you about the Bronze. I have to talk to you."

"If you heard us talking that means you followed us out of the library. Creepy stalker, why can't you people leave me alone? I never asked for this and I sure as Hell don't want it. It ruined my life!"

"That's not my problem, what is my problem is getting you to understand, this isn't something you can just turn off. You have a duty, a responsibility, to humanity. What will it take to make you understand, this is your life, whether you like it or not."

"Oh, I get that part. And sure, I'll Slay when I see a vamp, but I'm not going to be going out looking for them."

"And people will die."

"Don't put that on me! Why don't you get off your butt and do some Slaying?"

"Because that's your job, mine is to train and teach you."

"Those who can, do, those that can't, teach."

"Precisely." Buffy rolled her eyes as she realized, he didn't even realize she'd just insulted him.

"This is a pointless conversation."

"Are there any vampires in here now?"

"How should I know?"

"Because you are the Slayer! Even through this mass of humans and noise, you should be able to tell. Reach out with your senses, feel for the vampires."

"I really don't want to feel a vampire." She grimaced and looked down on the dance floor. "There's one." She pointed at a guy who looked like he'd time traveled from the seventies. "Fine, I'll take care of him. And maybe you'll back off and leave me alone." With a final glare, she made her way down the steps and spotted the vamp with a girl he'd picked up. She followed them out the front door and saw them near the corner of the building, about to disappear around it, where the cars were parked. She threw her stake and it slid neatly between the vampire's ribs and into its heart, it crumbled into dust. The girl glanced back and noticed the guy who'd picked her up had disappeared.

"Hey, did you see where the guy I was with went?" She called to Buffy.

"He flaked on you, but that's the risk when you pick up a guy at a club." The girl glared at her and kept going. Buffy went back into the Bronze and sought out Willow and Johnathan.

"I'm sorry, I'm feeling more tired than I thought. I think I'll call it a night."

Disappointed, Willow nodded. "Actually I'm thinking I will too. It's just not the best night for Bronzing it."

"No, you're right, it's not. But we'll see each other at school tomorrow. We could have lunch, talk in a somewhat quiet environment."

Perking up at the thought that Buffy might still want to be her friend, Willow agreed. "Tomorrow and we have a study date in the Library sixth period." She reminded Buffy.

"I plan to be there. Have a good night Willow, Johnathan." They murmured their good nights as well and the three teens headed home, hopeful that tomorrow would be a better day.
