The Z-Warriors hovered in the sky, their eyes fixed on the remains of Dr. Gero's destroyed laboratory. Vegeta's scowl deepened as he shot a disapproving glance at his son, Trunks, who had just unleashed a ki blast in anger.
"What the hell did you do that for, you foolish boy?!" Vegeta's voice boomed with frustration.
Unfazed by Vegeta's glare, Trunks defended himself, pointing out the inaction of the others. "At least I did something instead of just standing around and staring at them!" Trunks retorted with frustration.
Trying to diffuse the tension with a joke, Krillin chimed in. "He's got a point, Vegeta. We can't just stand here staring at each other."
"Shut up, cue ball!" Vegeta snapped back with frustration.
"I resent that..." Tien grumbled.
"No one cares, you freakazoid!"
"I hate you!"
Meanwhile, down below, Androids 17 and 18 emerged from the dissipating smoke, seemingly unfazed by the explosion caused by Trunks. They exchanged puzzled glances as they observed Future Trunks hovering above.
"What's his deal?" 17 asked casually, nodding towards Trunks.
18 shrugged indifferently. "Who knows? Doesn't matter." She then turned her attention to Android 16, who stood silently nearby, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.
Z, still adjusting to his existence as an android, couldn't shake the image of Dr. Gero from his memory. He winced momentarily, catching 18's attention.
"What's wrong?" 18 inquired, her curiosity piqued.
Z quickly composed himself, masking his inner turmoil. "Nothing. Just... processing everything."
Meanwhile, Android 17 glanced back at their group and remarked, "Looks like we've got ourselves a gang now."
Curious about their next move, 18 turned to 17. "What's the plan?"
17 paused for a moment before grinning mischievously. "Well, we still have a mission, don't we? We need to eliminate Goku."
At the mention of Goku's name, Android 16's programming kicked in. "Goku... must be eliminated," he uttered mechanically.
17 chuckled at 16's sudden response. "Impressive. He can talk!"
Turning to Z, 18 asked, "Are you coming with us?"
Z hesitated, conflicted by his new identity and his past memories. After a moment, he nodded silently.
This assurance pleased 17 and 18, who seemed eager for the task ahead. "Alright then. Let's make this interesting," 17 suggested, a glint of mischief in his eyes.
"What do you have in mind?" 18 inquired skeptically.
"We're going to make a game out of it," 17 announced casually. "Let's steal a car and take our sweet time hunting down Goku."
18 frowned at 17's cavalier attitude. "Seriously? Act like a guy much?"
"Hey, we're free now," 17 countered with a smirk. "Might as well have some fun."
Reluctantly, 18 agreed. "Fine. Let's get going."
The four androids then took off into the distance, leaving the Z-Warriors behind. Vegeta's frustration boiled over as he watched them depart.
"Unbelievable! They're ignoring the Prince of all Saiyans!" Vegeta growled, wounded by the androids' nonchalant behavior.
Consumed by rage, Vegeta powered up into his Super Saiyan form, his aura crackling with fiery energy. Future Trunks stepped forward, determined to reason with his father. With a firm voice, Trunks implored Vegeta to reconsider his impulsive actions.
"Father, wait! Don't go charging off on your own. We need to wait for Goku," Trunks urged, trying to calm the enraged Saiyan.
Vegeta's eyes blazed with fury as he glared at his son. "Wait for Kakarot? I wait for no one, especially not that babbling idiot!"
Trunks was a little startled but wasn't going to back down. "Your pride is clouding your judgment, Father. If Z is truly as powerful as Dr. Gero claims, taking on all four androids alone would be suicide. You're not that strong."
Vegeta's temper flared uncontrollably at Trunks' words. In a burst of anger, he lashed out, delivering a powerful punch to Trunks' gut. Trunks staggered back, clutching his stomach in pain.
The Prince of all Saiyans flew off into the distance, not caring about his actions toward his own flesh and blood.
Krillin flew over and comforted Trunks while trying to lighten the mood. "Trunks, you really shouldn't have pushed Vegeta's buttons like that."
Trunks winced, still recovering from the blow. "I... I had to try. We need to go after him!"
Tien chimed in. "Most of us don't exactly like Vegeta. Why should we bother helping him?"
"Because we still need him, Tien!" Piccolo stated firmly. "Without Goku, Vegeta is our only chance of survival until Goku gets better. We need to go after him right now!"
The group exchanged determined glances, knowing they had to act swiftly to prevent a disastrous confrontation. Without hesitation, they flew after Vegeta who had already flown off in pursuit of the androids.
High above the landscape, Vegeta's golden aura blazed brightly as he sped towards the direction where the androids were headed. His thoughts were consumed by thoughts of battle and proving his strength, but deep down, a sense of urgency gnawed at him.
The mountainside air was calm and peaceful as the androids stood on the road, taking in the serene surroundings. Android 16's gentle gaze fell upon a pair of birds nesting in a nearby tree, a sight that brought a genuine softness to the giant android's normally stoic face. Z, ever curious, scanned their surroundings, wondering about their unexpected stop.
"Why have we stopped here?"
Amused by Z's curiosity, Android 17 chuckled and casually remarked, "We're waiting here for a car."
This drew a deadpan expression from Android 18, who quipped, "You're really acting like a typical guy, 17."
With a dismissive shrug, 17 retorted, "Relax, sis. We've got all the time in the world."
However, their tranquility was soon interrupted by the arrival of a Super Saiyan aura. Super Saiyan Vegeta descended onto the pavement from a distance away, exuding an air of arrogance and superiority. He wasted no time in mocking the androids.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't a pair of broken-down washing machines," Vegeta jeered, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he glanced at Androids 17 and 18. "And that one over there," he continued, smirking at Android 16, "is a walking ginger tin can." Finally, his gaze locked onto Z. "And don't get me started on that one."
As Vegeta taunted them, Android 17 couldn't resist making a jab at the Saiyan prince's appearance. "Hey, did you bleach your hair to look like 18?" he quipped, earning a sharp glare from his twin sister.
"Shut up, 17!"
Z, using his sensory scanning abilities, assessed Vegeta's power levels. Despite his strength, Z knew he was no match for 18's formidable power. However, rather than engaging in conflict, Z responded calmly, a genuine smile crossing his face at the power disparity. "Your power level may be higher than before, but you're still weaker than 18."
Vegeta's eye twitched in annoyance as 17 added fuel to the fire with a chuckle. Meanwhile, 18 wore a genuine smile, pleased that Z had unexpectedly praised her strength.
"If you think your friend is stronger than me, then how about I blow you up into a million pieces, you metal trash heap!" Vegeta growled with frustration.
Unperturbed, Z remained composed. "I'm not interested in fighting you, so save your taunts for someone who cares," he replied calmly, turning to walk away.
"Are you scared to fight me, you coward trash can?" Vegeta's insult echoed behind Z as he halted in his tracks.
"Are you going to fight him, Z?" 18, looking amused, wondered if Z would stand by and let Vegeta's provocations go unanswered.
Z slowly turned his head, fixing a sharp gaze on the smug Super Saiyan. In a calm yet serious tone, he stated, "Vegeta... you're already dead."
