Flashback

Two weeks ago…

Tonight was a good night for everyone. The song 'Set it Off' was playing in the background, the patrons were dancing their hearts away to the song, while the rest of the patrons were at the punch bowl table having a drink with their friends and the others were cheering Mal for her bravery for stepping up to her mother, Maleficent in her dragon form.

Whilst everyone was enjoying themselves at the Coronation party, Jay stood in the middle of the crowd, watching people come and go, some greeting him in the process.

It was not to say Jay wasn't having any fun at the party, on the contrary, he did! He was happy that he and his friends turned good, made good friends, and danced with some pretty girls, and above all, the night went pretty well for him.

The only problem was Jay was becoming pretty bored as he didn't know what to do at that moment. He'd already danced with Audrey(he gotta admit, Audrey was a good dancer) and wasn't planning to dance til later. He couldn't talk to his friends as they were engaged in other activities like Mal, who was with her boyfriend talking with some royal dignitaries at the corner of the room, Carlos was devouring all the savory snacks at the table with Dude the dog, and Evie? Well, it seems as if she ran off with Doug to make out or something.

Jay's brown eyes started to scan the room to see if he could find someone to strike up a conversation with, and it didn't take him long as his eyes landed on a girl a few meters away from him, whose long raven hair was tied in a high ponytail. And it seemed as if she was waving goodbye to someone, maybe one of her friends.

Perfect. Now Jay has the opportunity to meet this mysterious girl and probably get her number. Hopefully.

With that said, Jay cleared his throat and made his way over to the girl and when he did, her back was turned to him. So, Jay gently tapped on the girl's slender shoulder, causing her to flinch slightly and turn around to face him.

'Whoa, she's more beautiful than I thought,' Jay thought to himself as he was mesmerized by the girl's beauty.

The girl looked up at Jay with a slightly annoyed expression on her countenance.

"Uh, hello?" The girl raised a brow at Jay.

Realizing that he didn't introduce himself(is that how it works in Auradon?), Jay apologizes. "I'm sorry, excuse my bad manners," he let out a chuckle. "The name's Jay. You've probably seen me before."

The long-haired girl did a double take and her eyes widened when she got a clear view of Jay. "Oh! You! You're the new Tourney star player, huh? And the ladie'sman?"

"Ah yes, I'm the one. I've seen lots of pretty girls around here but I've never seen a pretty desert flower like you," Jay said, trying to get attention from this girl.

The girl smothered a chuckle as she shook her shoulders. "Oh, I've been around, it's just that you won't see me flirt like the other girls."

Jay pouted and the pretty girl rolled her eyes.

"Fair enough, though I didn't ask for your name. My apologies."

"My name is Jamilah," the girl introduced herself.

"Ahh, Jamilah…" Jay mused. "Such a pretty name you got there."

Jamilah huffed. "Funny, that's what my name means."

"It suits you well. Say, are you busy?" Jay asked. "I'm asking because I kinda need a dance partner and I don't see anything that catches my eye."

Jamilah gave him a look and planted her hands on her hips. "Didn't I see you dance with Audrey?"

Jay scratched the back of his head with a chuckle. "Foxy's great, but I see her dance with Chad right after."

Jamilah hummed. She knew very well she couldn't turn down Jay, or else he would bombard her with questions, or at least what she thought.

"Fine," Jamilah said, sounding reluctant. "Just one dance, alright?"

Jay grinned as he offered a hand to Jamilah and she accepted it and led her to the dance floor.

Jay was such a lucky guy tonight.

End of flashback

"Yo, Jay!" Aziz called, hoping to get his friend's attention. "Are you alright?"

"Huh?" Jay snapped back to the present as Aziz pulled him from his reverie. He then turned to the young Agrabah prince and asked, "Huh? What were you saying?"

"I'm asking you if you're alright?" Aziz asked as put on his left sock.

Aziz and Jay were in the boys' locker room, with Aziz finished freshened up after they had their Tourney practice with Coach Jenkins, which just ended moments ago and now they're changing into their clothes for their next and final class for the day.

"Uh yeah," Jay replied as he ran his fingers through his long, silky hair before tying it into a man bun. "It's just that I was reminiscing about a pretty girl I met at the Coronation party."

Aziz raised his eyebrows, intrigued. "Oh yeah? Who's the girl?" He asked as he began to tie his shoes laces.

Jay huffed. "Jamilah."

Aziz paused and blinked, shocked by Jay's answer. "My sister?"

"Yeah," Jay nodded. "Do you have a problem?"

Aziz shook his head quickly. It's not like Aziz had an issue with his little sister dating or having a crush on another guy, as long he was a good guy for her. It's just that it took him by surprise. If Aziz remembered correctly, his sister told him several months back that she wouldn't be dating any guy until she was mentally ready and when she found their brother. That is 'if' she and her brothers found him.

"Oh no!" Aziz responded. "It's just that Jamie told me that she won't date another guy after what Chad did to her until she's ready. In the meantime, she's focusing on school and looking for our brother." He sighed.

"I know, Jamilah told me on Friday after she shared her story on how Chad treats her poorly," Jay said as he felt a pang of guilt in his chest, and he lowered his voice once he mentioned Chad's name as the blond prince was in the same locker room with them. "She was emotional on Friday while telling me her pest."

Aziz nodded in understanding. "Yeah, she was truly hurt and felt so used. That's why she doesn't want to talk about it."

"Oh, I understand," that's all Jay could say as he got up from his seat beside Aziz and went to his locker to grab his things. He was shirtless.

As soon as Aziz finished tying his other shoelace, he straightened his posture and saw Jay's back, and what Aziz saw made his brown eyes go wide in horror.

What Aziz saw on Jay's back were something like large old scars that were visible as they stretched across and vertically all over his back. Aziz thought that the scars most likely came from a belt or a piece of strong stick.

It didn't matter what was used, all Aziz knew was Jay had been abused by Jafar while he was on the Isle. He couldn't imagine what the long-haired boy had to go through and he wouldn't be surprised if Jafar verbally abused and belittled Jay regularly. Strangely enough, the moment Aziz saw those scars, it felt as if he could feel the pain Jay was feeling, and because of this, Aziz was uncomfortable.

By the time Jay took out his things from the locker to take a shower, he turned around and saw Aziz already risen to his feet with his bag on his shoulder, preparing to leave the locker room. He frowned.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm heading to class. Remember?" Aziz replied, but in truth, he couldn't stand to see the scars on Jay's back, it was stomach-churning for him and he had to tell his younger siblings about this right away. Not to mention that he didn't want to see Chad's face in this changing room.

Jay wasn't entirely convinced by Aziz's answer, but he didn't show it and nodded anyway. "Oh ok then. Though you look like you've seen a ghost or something. You cool man?"

Aziz waved off Jay as he chuckled softly. "Oh no, I'm good," he lied.

"Oh alright then, catch you later."

"Later," and with that, Aziz left the boys' locker room.

As soon as Aziz exited the boys' locker room, he saw his girlfriend, Nina who was waiting for him.

"Hey, you," Nina greeted as she stepped towards her boyfriend and pecked him on his lips.

"Hey," Aziz returned as he had his arms around Nina's waist.

Nina studied Aziz's features and she could tell that something was bothering him. So, she asked, "Are you okay? It seems as if something's bothering you. Is it Chad?"

Aziz shook his head before he turned his head to check if anyone was listening or exiting the changing room. When he saw that the coast was clear, he turned to his girlfriend and took her hand as they walked at a brisk pace to their History class.

Nina gave her boyfriend a daze followed by a concerned look. "Um, what's going on, Zi?"

Aziz sighed softly slowed his pace and turned to Nina. "It's just that I saw something on Jay's back."

"What did you see on Jay's back?"

"I saw scars. Like huge scars that spread across and vertically on his back."

Hearing this made Nina cover her mouth and gasp. "Oh my gosh!"

"Yeah, I could tell that Jay was abused on the Isle," he told her as they continued to walk.

"What are you gonna do?" Nina asked, worry started to crease her brow.

"I dunno, but I'm gonna tell Jamie and Emir about it."

"You got any clue on your missing brother?"

Aziz had told Nina about his and his sibling's plan to find their missing brother about a month ago so that their parents could get closure, especially Jasmine who was currently depressed. At first, Nina was skeptical because she feared that Aziz would abandon her, but he reassured her that he was going to tell her everything that he could find.

"No, but there was this uneasiness inside of me when I saw the scars," Aziz shook his head as he was trying to erase the image of Jay's back from his mind. "Like I felt the pain that Jay feels when he was harshly whipped by Jafar. Even though I don't have those on my back."

Nina stared at her boyfriend sadly. "Oh, Aziz…"

Aziz breathed. "I know, but let's talk about this after school," he then laced his fingers with Nina's soft ones.

Nina nodded in understanding as they went to their History class.

After school in Aziz's dorm room….

The siblings gather in Aziz's room for their regular updates on their missing brother.

"You guys wouldn't believe what I saw today in the locker room with Jay," Aziz said.

Jamilah raised her eyebrows, intrigued by her older brother's words. "What did you see?"

" I saw huge scars on Jay's back like he was physically abused by Jafar while he was on the Isle," the elder brother explained. "And when I saw them, I was shocked and felt a little queasy."

Jamilah's brown eyes widened as she covered her mouth, while Emir's mouth gaped.

"I know it's disturbing."

"Did you…ask him about it?" Emir asked, his brow raised. "And did anyone see the visible scars? I mean, I was there in the locker room but I was far off."

Aziz shook his head. "I didn't want to make him uncomfortable, especially in a public area like locker room."

"Fair," Jamilah agreed.

"So, what you're gonna do now?" Emir questioned as he straightened his back while sitting on the edge of Aziz's bed and folded his arms.

"Well, what we are going to do is keep monitoring Jay and find out more clues about him without making it awkward or uncomfortable, that way he wouldn't suspect us," Aziz explained to his younger sister and brother as he made an emphasis on 'we'.

Jamilah and Emir exchanged looks before they fixed their gaze on their brother.

"Trust me, it's going to work," Aziz reassured with confidence in his tone. "I know it can work. Once we have enough clues and possibly evidence, then it's safe to say that Jay is our brother."

Jamilah bit her bottom lip. She didn't want to deny that Jay could be her brother, but she didn't want to be hopeful…yet.

"Um, are there any more Agrabah boys on the Isle?" Jamilah asked, sounding doubtful.

"No, not that I know of," Aziz shook his head.

"Don't worry, just look for more clues and more secrets about Jay. There's a lot about Jay that we don't know about."

Aziz's younger siblings nodded in response, and Aziz smiled at them, knowing that they were going to find their missing brother together, and he was sure of it.
