A/N: waiting for the DLC was worth it! Hope you enjoy this short little bite-sized chapter to tide you over in the meantime!
Henceforth, the chapter titles will start with the word "Let"...
Naruto/Malenia is an adorable little spaz to write~!
We're still referring to him as him for now.
It'd get far too confusing otherwise.
There is no force so fearsome in this world as a redhead demigod girl"
~Naruto.
Let Them Fight
"So this is your shadow then, hmm?"
Malenia made smug Malenia noises and tossed her head, idly tucking a strand of red hair behind her ear.
Miquella rolled his eyes in mild consternation. "of course you would be proud of such a thing. "
"And why should I not be proud?"
He exhaled in a long suffering sigh. Truly his twin baffled him at times. As if she were a boy trapped in a girls body. It was absurd of course. She was still his sister no matter how she might act, but the fact remained.
Still she was a part of Malenia and he would respect that bond. For now. He had eyes for another.
Ever the exception, ever the aberration, never one to let others keep her down. Not for her the norms of society or its fritters and fetters Surely she wasn't going to treat her like a sister or…oh.
Oh dear: That sounded like something his twin would do, oh yes. That sounded like her to the very bones. By comparison his own shadow
His own shadow Marcus the half-wolf was far more reserved and loyal compared to this meek thing. He, proved the far more stoic of the duo.
Or perhaps that was the black iron armor he wore.
In any case, it mattered naught, they were but children, and he had time aplenty to put his plans into action-
Wait. Where had Malenia gone? Her shadow was still there, apologizing profusely, but where-
He craned his neck and glimpsed his sister's wild red hair darting around the corner. Only then did he hear her shout:
"Radahn! Fight me! "
Miquella hastened after her on weak legs. "MALENIA NO! Not yet!"
(.0.0.0.)
Radahn wore many hats these days.
Entirely too many titles if you asked him.
Far too many.
Truth be told It was something of an embarrassment of riches on his part; though he refused to see it that way; not only was he lord general of Leyndell, but the leader of the redmanes, the starscourge, prince of Caria, on and on it went. he had as many names as he did titles as many names as there were ways to die.
Yet his latest title was new.
He heard his little...Cousins? Sister?-calling out to him and quickened his stride, cape billowing behind him.
Radagon had befouled the family tree right and proper when he left mum but he couldn't bring himself to hate his new siblings.
Least of all Malenia. Not for her the fancy titles or royalties of nobility; she was the opposite of Ranni in every way, a little hellcat through and through.
She...reminded him of, well...him, in his youth.
And what this little hellion wanted, she got.
He'd learned long that long ago.
"Lord Brother~! Fight me!"
Blast, but now she had a hold of his sleeve. She'd caught him while he was distracted.
There was no escape; he knew better by now.
Even so, he couldn't help but balk down at her. "Come again, little Malenia?"
She beamed up at him. "Fight me!"
Radahn blinked. He blinked hard. "I'm sorry, little sister. I must have misunderstood. You wish to fight me? "
Mini Malenia beamed, someone the very picture of innocence and chaos incarnate. "Yup!"
Radahn blew out a sigh and averted his gaze. "That's what I thought you said."
.
..
...no use. She was still there and still grinning. "Can we?"
His weary heart lurched ever so faintly. This girl...was going to be terrifying when she grew up. In more ways than one.
"Are you asking me trying you again?"
"No! She shook her head setting her long hair swaying. "I crave a fight!"
"That would be unwise. I might hurt you."
She warbled softly, on the verge of tears. "Awww...
Urk?! Not the tears! Anything but that, please!
...very well." He averted his gaze. "As you wish."
Malenia made happy Malenia noises and squeezed his arm. "Best lord brother ever!"
Rykard and Godwyn wouldn't be happy to hear that...
A pox on them. Protect the child.
"But first, wouldst thou prefer a ride to the training yard, little sister?"
Malenia needn't be told twice; she vaulted onto his back and alighted between his shoulders, holding tight for a moment before claiming her customary perch atop a massive shoulder.
He didn't even have the heart to refuse her.
"Forward, faithful steed!" She thrust a finger forth, golden eyes gleaming. "To battle!"
He prayed Ranni didn't see him like would never let him live this down.
Radahn lumbered forward with a rueful sigh.
He was entirely too kind for his own good...
A/N: Aaand scene.
Sooooooooo, do you want this to be updated? Yes? No? Maybe so? Make yourselves heard! Really need to hear from you guys and gals here.
As ever, reviews are the fuel that sustain me. Without them I cannot write a single word. Simple as that. Working nearly all hours of the day keep me absurdly busy, as such, I can't bring myself to write something folks don't like.
Aaaand there we go. As ever, reviews keep me alive. Without them, I am weak. So...in the Immortal Words of Atlas...
...Review...Would You Kindly? And have some previews -potential blot bin things- that I'm working on.
References ahoy~! And ideas for new stories. Hopefully this will sate my muse for the time being.
(Previews)
Naruto huffed and cupped her bosom. "Damn boobs. How does anyone walk with these...?"
Today was war. And war, like his sister, never changed.
"Sister! Please stop!"
Malenia most assuredly did not. She was a red dervish of death, destroying everything in her way. Another knight rushed her and she grabbed their face, swinging them about like a human flail. Her laughter filled the battlefield as she smashed them down. Two more rushed her and she beheaded them without so much as a backward glance, cutting their compatriots apart with them. Only then did she turn. Wild gold-red eyes looked back at him as she tilted her head to stare at him.
A bloody smile was his reward. "Isn't this fun, Miquella...?"
The youthful Empyrean sighed softly.
His sister was utterly insane.
"I enjoy that look of confusion." she tutted softly, bare feet ghosting over broken glass. "When an inferior beings meets a higher power," Red light built around her body. "Its intoxicating...
Her victim gasped in pain.
"It burns, doesn't it? Knowing you can't fight back, can't do anything at all. How do you think your victims felt? Much like this, I'd wager.
"Don't do this, Malenia. I can give you everything you want."
"Then die!"
...wait."
Radahn tensed.
She rose behind him, dragging herself upright.
But she did not bloom. She glared at him with red, ruby eyes.
"That hurt." he heard her rasp. "That actually hurt. You'll regret that...
She clicked her tongue. "I will not.
A fist crashed into her face. She didn't budge.
"Is that all?"
Will you marry me?"
Malenia barked a laugh at them; it was a decidedly unladlylike sound. "Sorry, but you're not my type."
"How so?"
Her lips quirked, ever so slightly. "You're a man for starters...
Wait. But that meant she preferred...oh. Ohh.
Ohhh.
R ~!
