Cursed Chains 3
Gojo had been right, he didn't have any classmates. When he entered the first-year classroom, there was not a single soul except him. So he waited, and after 15 minutes, a person with brown spikey hair with a toothpick entered the room.
"Hello, I'm Kusakabe Atsuya and I teach the first years, you can call me Kusakabe- sensei." He introduced himself.
Naruto stood up and properly introduced himself with a bow "Uzumaki Naruto"
"Alright Uzumaki- Kun, Unfortunately, you're the only first-year student as of right now. Some students may join in the middle semester as well. You can hang out with your seniors, I've heard that you have a decent understanding of cursed energy and can use your technique pretty well." Naruto nodded in affirmation.
"Jujutsu classes are mostly of self-study, you can visit the library for any of the subjects, I'm here to teach you about the fundamental basics, guide you about the topics, and as well as clearing your doubts and help if you need any matter. Of course, also deal with the practical aspects, and you can do the physical improvements yourself or can ask your senpai if they have time."
So, this is more like a college or University rather than a High School. That's quite cool. He can do his things with his comfortable pacing. The library should be a great way to do his research on positive cursed energy.
"So, after one month, you're required to go through one mission each week to exorcise the curses, of course, low-level ones. And after 6 months you'll undergo an exam from then on you can be assigned to Higher-level missions and your grade as a sorcerer can be improved."
So, just like that, Naruto's first year in Jujutsu High started.
After the class which is an Hour and a half of introduction to cursed energy, which he already knows for the most part, he went to the library. It's a big building and there are several shelves of cursed material so that one can study. Just like the classroom, there's not a single soul in the library except him. Not even a librarian. Hmmm. Then again, why do you need a librarian when you have a barrier that can only be passed if you have a student ID?
As he was coming to the library, he came across the other year's classes, a gym, an open ground, an indoor dojo and there is a small pond too.
He went straight for the advanced cursed energy section and immediately sorted out the possible books for the information on Positive cursed energy.
By the time, he came out of the library it was around 4 pm. Huh, he didn't even notice the time it took for him to conclude that the information on positive cursed energy is very complicated and it is paralleled tied to the Reversed cursed energy and reversed cursed technique. So, if you can't obtain or use the Reversed curse technique- which is not exactly a technique, but more of a manipulation/application of the energy- then it's impossible to use the positive cursed energy in combat or as a cursed technique reversal.
He'll have to ask someone about that one. And speaking of the Reversed cursed technique. He just saw a person, who can use that. He immediately rushed to her.
"Hello Shoko-san." Shoko turned her head and looked at the person who suddenly spooked her greeting out of nowhere. Or maybe she needs to pay some attention while walking. Oh, she recognized him; it's pretty hard to forget that face.
"Ah, Uzumaki- Kun, so you've joined. I thought you'd join Kyoto High, but welcome anyway. "
"Ah, thank you, it just so happened pretty fast. Anyways, I have a question"
"Hmm, shoot it."
"It's about the Reversed Cursed Technique. I want to know more about it"
"Hmm, it hasn't even been a day after you joined and you're already asking about this? How about you buy me a drink, I'll tell you how to do it"
"Ohm…I'm still a minor you know?"
"Not those kinds, you spikey head, get me some cola from the vending machine there" Naruto looked in the direction her finger was pointing at and immediately bought her a drink. She started sipping on it while they both sat on a bench.
"So, as you know, the human body generally has cursed energy in a negative manner which comes stomach or body in general, positive energy/reversed cursed technique comes from the mind. It's like you multiply your negative cursed energy with it and there comes positive energy." In basic terms, he understood what she was saying but, how? That is why he has to figure it out himself.
"Thank you very much, Shoko- senpai."
"You're welcome anytime, also, do come to me if you have any injuries. I'm the doctor here."
He took his leave went to his dorm, and thought about how to use his technique in multiple ways if he obtained his reversed cursed Technique and more importantly, the pinnacle of Jujutsu, Domain Expansion.
-One Month Time Skip-
It's been a month since his arrival here in Tokyo Jujutsu High, his regular visits to the library aside, he has been discussing with Kusakabe the basic techniques like veil formation, and sensing of cursed energy as well as some practice with weapons but none were suitable to him, so he's instead practicing with his chains as weapons themselves. Right now, he's sparring against Kusakabe in hand-to-hand combat, and it's going pretty neatly. He never had martial arts experience before this, and wasn't into flexibility exercises like Yoga or Gymnastics. So, it's an understatement that he's not good in hand-to-hand combat.
Kusakabe threw a left uppercut at him. But dodged that and Kusakabe grabbed his shirt and pulled him close and hit his left shit with his right leg, and grabbed Naruto's shirt and threw him overhead. As Naruto lay there not moving due to exhaustion, Kusakabe kneeled before him and started speaking.
"You never had any experience in martial arts or fighting in general?" Naruto shook his head.
"Nope, while did have a couple of fights here and there, it's never something serious" Kusakabe nodded.
"Alright, while your stamina is good, you need more Hand-to-hand combat experience, if your base level fighting is good, then it'll get easier when you fight the cursed spirits using your chains. Alright, that's it for today. Meet you tomorrow." Naruto lay there even after 10 minutes of Kusakabe leaving.
Honestly, he had to admit it was pretty hard to control his chains while he was running and their speed isn't that much compared to the speed of Kusakabe. He needs his technique to hit opponents quicker than they could react. And if the cursed spirit is faster than his chains, it's Game Over.
That's why he needs to improve his reaction time and speed in general so that he can use his chains around his body parts and hit the curse with that in that situation.
"Yo! Narutochi how's your day?" Naruto looked at the person with an annoyed expression.
"Don't call me that, Mochi- senpai."
"Awe, then if you don't want me to call you that, stop calling me Mochi."
"Not going to happen." Naruto got up and started walking to his dorm with Gojo following him just a step behind whistling a jaunty tune.
"So...tomorrow is your first official mission, right? How are you feeling?"
"Hmm...I already have experience in exorcising Grade 4 curses, and I'm confident that I can take on multiple of them at the same time. I'm also pretty sure, that there won't be any problem with Grade 3 cursed spirits too. If mission information is right, then there won't be a problem." He said pretty confidently. Gojo looked at him for a moment.
"I want you to get stronger. Not just stronger, the strongest. Enough to rival me, even surpass me." Gojo said seriously. "I'll help in whatever way possible for you to achieve it."
Naruto looked at the man for a minute. "Why are you saying this? Don't you like the strength of being the strongest? Or do you feel lonely being the only person up there?"
Gojo gave him a smile that answered his question.
Morning came pretty fast on the next day. Naruto was ready to take on whatever curse that needed to be exorcised. He met with Kusakabe at the classroom and both went out of the Tokyo High and got in the car that was waiting for them. His teacher gave the window the address and soon started to enter the city. The window dropped them at an old factory warehouse.
"Uzumaki-kun, generally our windows or Auxiliary managers will do the investigation regarding the cursed presence. But, sometimes sorcerers are required to do the investigation to determine which Grade the curse is and to check whether there are any survivors or hostages. Understood?"
"Yeah."
"You don't have to do this for this mission as don't have experience regarding how to determine the Grade of a curse yet. This one is at the level of a typical Grade 3. I'll wait outside, if you need any help, just shout it out. I'll put up my veil."
"I don't think I need it, but I'll keep it in my mind." Naruto agreed and started to go inside the warehouse to face his first Grade-3 cursed spirit while Kusakabe put up his veil.
The first thing he noticed when he entered the warehouse was that it was dark. Yeah, no shit. Anyway, he started to move around the place, trying to sense the cursed spirit.
'This is a 2-story warehouse and with several machines and stuff lying around. If this thing has some sort of intelligence, then it may use the machines as a distraction instead of attacking me itself head-on.'
Just as he suspected, the machines started to move around, the one crane started moving to and fro and the drums started to roll around the warehouse. Several things started moving creating the noise around him to make it hard to pin the curse's exact location.
'Now, if I want to move closer to my enemies, I'll use the rolling drums as a cover and sneak attack them.' As soon as he finished that thought, a curse erupted from a nearby drum with a blade in the place of its hand. Naruto immediately sent 3 of his chains towards the cursed spirit and one managed to pierce the torso of the curse and the other two managed to strangle the curse while at the same time sucking at its cursed energy. Now that he had a good look at it, he could see that it looked like a combination of monkey plus snake, wary of whether it would spray venom, he swiftly sent another chain which pierced from the mouth to the head of the cursed spirit, successfully exorcising it.
'Phew, First mission, Grand Success.' He did a little mental dance ignoring the ugly feeling of the curse spirit's cursed energy rapidly absorbed into his body and becoming his own while increasing his Cursed Energy reserves.
-One Month Time Skip-
It's been a month since his first mission and during that time he completed another 4 missions, and now time for another mission. This time, an Elementary School was shut down after abnormal times the students were getting sick every 3 to 4 days. The management decided to temporarily close the school when one day all students got sick around the same time. It even started to affect the Teachers as well. That means it's becoming stronger. So here, he is, ready to exorcise the ugly bastard who decided to show his power on the sweet, innocent, and still budding brains of the children.
'Children unknowingly release some negative emotions, whether due to bullying, exams, not completing the homework, or teachers scolding them in front of the whole class causing them to feel humiliation, fear, anger, anxiousness, nervousness, and in some cases resentment.
While technically children have a very small amount of cursed energy, over the years, the small negative energy from hundreds of children can form a Cursed spirit. It could be a Grade 3 cursed spirit at most.'
This time he was accompanied by a window member instead of Kusakabe. That means he has put on the veil himself and maintained it to cover the cursed energy and the damages from the non-sorcerers. He asked the Window to stay at least 2 blocks away from the building and wait.
Soon, he started putting up the veil. "Emerge from the Darkness, Blacker than the Darkness. Purify which is impure." The veil covered the entire building which was huge for an elementary school.
"Alright, time to fuck shit up". As soon as he entered the building he felt the pressure, which doesn't belong to a Curse of Grade 3. The only problem here is, that he doesn't know whether it is a Grade 2 or Semi- Grade 1, or Grade 1. He was sure that it was not a Special Grade. ''Cause a Special Grade can't be able to cover up its presence these many days.''
He started going through every room, it's hard to pinpoint the Cursed Spirit with this much presence covering the entire building. 'Smart one, it'll probably sneak attack me, at any point. Have to be careful here. Next time, I'm going to annoy Satoru and Kusakabe about sensing the curses in this situation.'
He finished the ground floor and moved to the first floor. Just as he entered a washroom, before he could react, the curse came out through the wall and kicked him in the stomach, making him go through the corridor and smashing through the cement railing. While he was in the air, he managed to send a chain and coil it around a pillar of the First floor, and safely landed on the ground. He immediately held his stomach.
'Damn, that hit like a freaking motorbike, haven't had the chance to reinforce it with cursed energy before the Curse kicked.' He moved his upper body side to side a bit. 'Thank the Sage, at least I managed to reinforce my back before hitting the cement railing. Though, have to check it with Shoko after this.'
He looked back at the Curse Spirit, which landed on the ground before him. Now, that he has a clear look, he can see it in the form of a humanoid figure around the height of a child. 'Shit, how did it manage to hit this hard with that small body.'
He reinforced his body with cursed energy again bringing out 9 of the chains this time. The curse also brought out a snake-like tail from its back and claws from its hands. From there on, the duo started attacking each other while one avoided the onslaught of chains and the other avoided the tail and kept their opponent at bay.
'Shit it's going nowhere, and on top of that I need to maintain the veil.' Naruto lamented. The Cursed Spirit tired of the Chains, grabbed a couple of them in each hand, and tried to pull Naruto towards it. But instead of Naruto flying towards it, Naruto extended the length of the chains which took the Curse off guard and made it lose a step, he pounced on this opportunity and sent the remaining chains to pierce through the limbs of the cursed spirit and coiled his chains around it and he started rotating and ripped the Cursed spirits limbs into pieces.
With the work done and dusted, he turned around but stopped. 'Wait, I ripped the limbs, but the main body is still intact, I have to finish it. I haven't concentrated on absorbing its cursed energy. Damn, Rookie mistakes' While his chains can absorb the cursed energy, he has to focus on that to extract any meaningful amount of cursed energy. He turned around to exorcise the curse but faced himself with an almost fully reforming curse that stood almost within a foot distance of him.
He barely managed to reinforce his face with cursed energy when the now stronger curse punched him in the face and knocked him away for a distance of 20 meters. Naruto stood up and spit out his tooth and brought out his chains and before he could attack the curse again it sent him flying into the building and a room blasting through a door.
'Damn, have to maintain the veil. And how the fuck did it get so powerful, did I underestimate it? Maybe but, it got more powerful, the ability to heal itself with just a torso and the increased speed and strength, it is undoubtedly the level of….fuck is that?' He questioned himself after seeing the cursed spirit conjuring up a dark purple ball of Cursed Energy. 'Holy Cow...have to move.' He barely managed to dodge it but not before sacrificing his right arm.
'Shit, shit, shit….what is this pain, am I losing to a fucking Grade 1 curse? Me, Uzumaki fucking Naruto? To think that this little midget shit was able to beat me around? I need more, I need more power….Wait' That's when he realized, he could one-shot the cursed spirit if he could inject it no if he could even slash it with positive cursed energy. 'Now what did she say…Minus into Minus is equal to Plus.' Naruto stood there for a moment. And then he started shouting.
"Ahahaha…This is, that's it, Hey! You fucking Midget!" Naruto started walking towards the cursed spirit while bleeding and missing his right arm, 'heh..I probably looked like a fucking Zombie to that motherfucker' he thought as he saw the Curse take a step back looking at him.
"Hey, bring out that attack again, you have a nice attack, fucking throw it at me u fucking loser!" While the curse may not understand human language, it is understood that Naruto is mocking. As it readied to blast another attack, Naruto sent a chain faster than ever which pierced through the attack and cut off the curse spirit's right arm.
"How does that feel you fucking snake mutant, or a lizard, ahh…fuck it, you reptile mutant." Naruto held his chin in his left hand thinking while the Curse was suspended in the air strangled by multiple chains around it which started absorbing its cursed energy rapidly.
He looked up at the curse and started talking while forming another chain, "I guess you know how it feels losing limbs don't you?" He moved closer to its face. "After all, I already cut them off before didn't I.. Haha" He moved back a bit when the Curse tried to bite his face off while still laughing. "Oh, that's rude behavior mate." He started forming another chain all the while bleeding from his right hand.
"You know, I think I hate killing off the intelligent curses from now on, why don't you guys just be like the lower-level curses without any thought of fighting like some rabid animal? And I didn't even catch you killing or severely harming innocents either." Naruto felt sad for some unknown reason. "It's not your fault that you're born like this, it's not your fault for not being able to have emotions like happiness, or kindness. It's not your fault for only having negative emotions."
He looked at the curse in his eyes, "Maybe I can take all your negative emotions. You managed to make me stronger. I'll kill you though, there's no compromise in that. But, in which way do you want to be exorcised? Do you want me to absorb your cursed energy or do you want me to exorcise with this" He pointed at the chain that is made up of purely positive cursed energy and pointed at the chains that are holding the curse and absorbing its cursed energy.
It looked for a second and Naruto managed to catch a glimpse of fear when it looked at the Positive cursed energy chain, "Alright, absorption that is." He looked at the curse in the eyes and sent more normal chains to coil around it. He noticed what looked like a tiny smile from the tiny boy-looking curse before it started it disintegrate. "Hope you find peace." With one last pull, he absorbed all the negative cursed energy. Then, he felt it, the negative emotions, it hit him like a ton, how many curses were suffering like this, can't able to control their minds, can't able to overcome their negative emotions, can't be able to overcome their instincts. He decided he'd give them all the peace they deserved, he'll exorcise them all because he now knows, one can't always live with negative emotions.
As he looked up, he noticed the veil still intact. Honestly, that's a miracle that it's still there, he made a hand sign to lift it. 'Ah! But before that, he looked at his now stump of a right arm and focused his Reversed Cursed Technique, in a matter of a couple of seconds, he regrew his arms and as well the couple of teeth he lost. 'Good. Now, where is the car.? Doubt whether I can even make it to the car, with all this blood loss.'
One Jujutsu high Window member is sitting in the car waiting for the Young sorcerer who went to exorcise the curse, reading a magazine when he felt someone tap on the trunk of the car. He got out of the car and went around it to check when he saw the young sorcerer lying flat on his face, unconscious.
So, yeah, Naruto learned RCT and managed to make a chain out of pure Positive Cursed Energy. I know most of you probably are thinking that Naruto seems weak, yes, he was at Grade 3 when he joined and by the end of this chapter, he's at least around Semi-Grade 1 with his updated arsenal.
This is the first full-on fight that I ever wrote. Excuse me for any mistakes.
