Chapter 2: Tell it to the frogs
~Sami's POV~
As night fell after talking about who would speak to Daryl that Rick would tell Daryl about his brother Merle, I would sat in between Glenn and T-Dog. I listened to what Rick is talking about and knew that Lori messed up big time especially with cheating behind Rick's back with Shane. I didn't say anything as Shane went to talk with Ed about the fire and knowing that Ed is a piece of shit husband/father to Carol and Sophia. I always looked out for the kids within the camp if I wasn't hunting and babysit if the parents needed alone time. As time passed, I headed off to my tent to rest since Shane took the night watch for any walkers that might come to the quarry where us survivors are living at the moment. As the sun rises in the sky, I was up and walking around the edge of camp to make sure that everything was alright and hoped that no walkers are near the camp. I would join the other for breakfast and noticed that Rick is sleeping because of how late it was when he and Lori went to bed last night. I stayed to myself for a bit but helped treat Carol's light burns from last night. I was the only one who has medical knowledge of medicine.
"Make sure that the bandages stay on and be careful. You can take the bandages off when it's time for clothes washing but come to me for new bandages." I said to Carol.
"Thank you. You've been helpful within the camp, especially when it comes to medicine." Carol said.
"You gotta thank my parents, they are the reasons behind the medical knowledge." I said.
"Well they taught you well, I'm surprised that you don't talk a lot of your past life before becoming a survivor." Carol asked.
"I never do because, I know it's something that I don't like talking about. The only good thing that came out of it was my aunt and brother." I said.
Carol nodded and made sure to not bring up such touchy subject around me ever again. I would put away the med pack and I knew that the only medical stuff I know came from my aunt that taught me everything. I didn't mention my uncle who taught me how to survive before his death while on tour. I would help Glenn plan for rescue of Merle Dixon. That's when I heard the kids scream and I would follow behind T-Dog without knowing that Rick was up and about. I knew that the walker is eating the deer that Daryl was hunting for the group. I looked over when hearing footsteps till Daryl showed himself.
~Daryl's POV~
As I came into the clearing, I got pissed that the walker got my deer that I got while out hunting for it. I was super pissed that I couldn't use the meat. I saw Sami and nodded to her as she nodded back. I knew she would help with the squirrel meat that I hunted while away from the camp. As I headed into the camp, I called out Merle's name thinking that he's here. I heard Shane behind me saying that Merle ain't here at the moment and I turned around. I stared at Shane but glared at Rick as Rick started to speak up. I could see Sami from the corner of my eye, and I knew something happened to my brother.
"Daryl, Merle is in..." Rick began to speak.
"Dead, alive." I asked.
"Merle is in Atlanta city, cuffed to the roof." Rick said.
"I had the key but it was dropped." T-Dog added.
"Then you could've uncuffed him." I said to T-Dog.
"The key went down a drain, but I had the door chained so walkers couldn't get to Merle." T-Dog said.
"Merle was endangering the group." Rick said.
That's when I lost it and throw the squirrels at whoever before trying to attack Rick. I was then put into a head lock by Shane when Sami is yelling at Shane to let me go and I knew that Sami was pissed at Shane. So as Shane let go, I went to my tent, but talked with Sami. Sami had let me know that the plan that she and Glenn made. I was glad that Sami had this plan to save Merle. I told Sami to keep the group safe since he doesn't trust Shane at all as Rick, Myself, T-Dog and Glenn headed back to Atlanta city to get my brother from the roof where he was cuffed to and not knowing that Merle is gone with only his hand behind.
