Chapter 3: Night Spent Looking
As the rain lashed down over the Encanto, The Madrigals spent the whole evening looking for Mirabel.
They had all split up to look all over the village, and they'd asked everyone they'd met if they'd seen Mirabel, but no one had. Most of them didn't even want to tell them, due to how angry they felt after realizing what Mirabel had done to Alma.
They soon met at the ruins of Casita again.
"Any luck?" Julieta asked Pepa and her husband.
"No." Felix said. "We searched as far as the fields, but Mirabel's nowhere to be found."
"She wasn't in the church, either." Camilo said. "I looked everywhere; I double, triple, and quadruple-checked places, and looked again, just in case." he added.
"Me & Dolores asked everyone at the school," Antonio said, "But they haven't seen her either."
Julieta hugged Agustin tightly, letting out a short choked sob.
"This is awful." Luisa moaned. "I can't believe Mirabel would do something like this!"
"I know." Felix said. "This is a terrible thing that's happened, but we can't just blame ourselves."
"Well I'm blaming myself." said Isabela sadly. "I blamed Mirabel ever since that proposal dinner incident. It was wrong of me."
"I know." Luisa said, comforting her older sister. "But sis, between you and me, I was horrified when Mirabel punched Abuela."
"Uh, we already know." Isa retorted. "We all saw it."
Agustin felt shocked and angry about what Mirabel did. "I swear," he muttered, "I'm gonna give Mirabel a good talking to when we find her."
"We'll deal with what Mirabel did soon enough." Julieta said. "Right now, the only thing that matters is that we find her."
"Si." Agustin said, wiping the tears from his eyes. "We won't give up until we find Miraboo."
Felix looked at the cloudy sky as it darkened. "I think it's gettin' too dark and cold to search any longer." he said.
"Si." Agustin sighed. "I think we're gonna have to call it a night."
The Madrigals arrived to the Guzmans' household, which apparently, was the only place that would offer them shelter, since their house was destroyed.
"None of you have had any luck?" Senora Guzman guessed.
The Madrigals all shook their heads.
"NO te precoupes." she said, "Get some rest and warm up, and tomorrow, we'll all go looking for her."
"I hope we find her soon." Antonio said, hugging Pepa.
"You and me too, mijo." Pepa said.
Needless to say, The Madrigals wouldn't be having a good night's sleep, and it wasn't due to the fact that there wasn't much room for them all inside the Guzmans' house - they were all worried about Mirabel.
A/N: I hope Mirabel is alright.
Do you hope so?
