Deku awoke to another lazy Sunday, not particularly interested in doing anything except just lazing the day away in his cozy bed. It had been a hard week of classes, so he figured he could use the rest. Eventually, though, his legs got restless, so he got up and went down to the common area of the dorm for breakfast.
"Good morning, my adorable Deku!" said Todoroki.
"Shoko, you seem more upbeat than usual. Care to explain?"
Todoroki smiled. "Oh, I have a special surprise for you!"
"Wow, Midoriya, seems like it's your lucky day!" said Kirishima.
"Yeah, I wish Jiro would give me special surprises like this!" said Kaminari.
Jiro glared at Kaminari. "What? That VIP pass to the Rage Against the Machine concert wasn't enough?"
Kaminari smiled nervously and waved his hands around. "No, I…I wasn't saying that; I'm just saying…!"
Deku, Todoroki, Kirishima and some other people within earshot had a good laugh.
After breakfast, Deku headed outside as Todoroki directed him, only to get an unusual surprise when he not only saw her wearing her leather jacket, but matching leather pants and Dehner Motor Patrol knee-high leather boots.
"Um…Shoko…what's with all the leather?"
Todoroki giggled. "You'll see! Come on!"
Todoroki led Deku to the school parking lot. When they got there, he saw something unusual parked next to her Oldsmobile: a 1973 Kawasaki H2A motorcycle, painted in standard "Kawasaki Green". There were two open-face helmets hanging from the bike: a white one with a red stripe down the center, and a "Captain America" helmet. Todoroki grabbed the white/red one and handed the "Captain America" one to Deku.
"Just sit on the back and hang on tight!"
Todoroki took the driver's seat, while Deku took the passenger seat – or as some motorcyclists unflatteringly called it, the "bitch seat" – and wrapped his arms around her torso. Todoroki kicked the starter lever over, and the bike zinged to life on the first kick. After letting the triple-cylinder two-stroke engine ping for a bit, she shifted the bike into first – ironically by using a downwards push on the shift lever – and proceeded to head out into the streets of Musutafu. Having never rode a motorcycle before, Deku did his best not to scream his lungs out, but at the same time, he enjoyed the feeling of being as free as the wind and came to understand why motorcyclists loved riding so much. Granted, he still wasn't sure what Todoroki saw in such a daring form of transportation, but he figured she was just being adventurous. As if the city streets weren't enough, Todoroki headed out onto the highway, where she really opened her machine up. Deku wanted to pass out because despite being used to swinging around from great heights using Blackwhip, riding on the back of a motorcycle at high speeds was another animal entirely. Even so, he made no attempt to get her to stop the bike. There was just something so dangerously intoxicating about going like a streak of lightning on the back of this green rocket, and he didn't want her to stop. While he was riding, he completely forgot about everything that troubled him, and he hoped that one day, she too would let him ride this two-wheeled daredevil machine. By the time they got off the highway, he had found another reason to love her. Soon enough, they got back to UA, and once Todoroki killed the engine, Deku wasted no time in giving his opinion on the whole thing:
"Wow, that was…that was…that was amazing! I've never gone that fast before! Now I see why you like riding!"
Todoroki took off her helmet. "I know, right? Riding a motorcycle is fun like nothing else is!"
"Well, we should definitely do this again! Heck, I think I might wanna learn how to ride, too!"
"You should! You'd love it!"
Deku smiled. "I believe you!"
Deku and Todoroki headed into the UA dorms, not only feeling energized from the ride, but also eagerly looking forward to the next.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
