"Why are you here?" Kakashi asked Gai. The man turned to him and smiled.

"Kakashi, I came to see if you were alright. I needed to see you after that time then. I've only thought about you all this time," Gai answered walking and kneeling by Kakashi.

"Well, did you think that Kakashi might not have wanted to see you?" Asuma asked pushing Gai away from Kakashi.

"And who might you be?" Gai asked looking Asuma up and down. "His body guard?"

"Asuma is my best friend. He stuck with me through my few years in the army Gai. Now, please leave or I'll call the doctor," Kakashi said monotone as he looked at the TV. He waited but Gai didn't leave. "What do you want?"

"To apologize, Kakashi, I'm sorry. I didn't know what to say then plus my friends were there so I said what would have been funny. But all that did was hurt my best friend. So, I apologize Kakashi, I should never have said those things to you," Gai said looking at Kakashi. He just stared at the TV. So Gai continued his explanation. "The truth is I didn't think you would actually leave. I went back expecting to see you sleeping or watching TV. But you were gone, and now I've found you."

"Leave. Please just go," Kakashi said still not looking at him. Asuma walked over and pulled Gai's arm, leading him to the door. Gai stopped him when they neared the door. "Go."

"I won't give up Kakashi," Gai said as Asuma pushed him out the door. Asuma walked back over to Kakashi and sat on the end of the bed.

"Hey, you do realize you accidentally lied to the doctor right?" he asked smiling. Kakashi looked at him confused. "I'm a year older than you. I'm 24 Kakashi. You are 23."

"I thought, I though I wasn't that old yet. When did that happen?" Kakashi asked still looking at the TV. Asuma looked up to see a couple on the television. "I always feel bad for the people on these shows. They lost their kids and can't find them ever sometimes. I wish my parents would have found me."

"Hey, cheer up. I've brought my girlfriend to meet you. Only if it's okay though," Asuma said holding up his hands. Kakashi nodded. Asuma walked over and opened the door. A fairly tall and light-skinned woman of slender build, with long, black, shoulder-length untamed hair, and very unique eyes that are red in color, with an additional ring in them and make-up consisting of red lipstick and purple eye shadow walked in with Asuma. "Kakashi, Kurenai. Kurenai, Kakashi. He's the friend I've told you about."

"I'm glad to finally meet you," Kurenai said shaking Kakashi's hand gently.

"I'm glad that Asuma has met someone so nice," Kakashi said happily. Kurenai blushed at the compliment. "Thank you both for coming to see me, but I think I need more sleep."

"Alright. We'll see you later. And when you can leave we'll take you site seeing. See ya," Asuma said as they left Kakashi lay back down looking up at the screen still. The couple had a picture of a three year old with silver hair and a cute chubby face.

"If you see him now, he'd be about 23 or 24. He's been gone so long," the woman said as she started crying. Kakashi sighed and turned off the screen with a click of the remote. He rolled onto his side then back to his back after a pain seared in his chest.

"Oh well, hope they find their son," Kakashi sighed as he slowly fell asleep. As he slept flashes of another dream floated through his mind. He sat up as he heard a loud sound. He found the nurse, Shizune, picking up a bunch of tools in the door way. He sighed then looked around. "How long have I been asleep?"

"You've been asleep for 36 hours. It's not surprising after you being in a coma for a year though. Don't worry," Shizune said as she picked up the last tool. She side stepped to let Asuma and Kurenai past.

"Hey Kakashi," Asuma said sitting in the chair next to Kakashi's bed. He nodded to his friend and his girlfriend. "So, they said you can get out in a few days, maybe even tomorrow."

"That's great. The sooner I get out the less I have to worry about him finding me again. Asuma did you tell them not to let him up here?" Kakashi asked thinking of Gai. His friend nodded. "Good. Thank you. So only tomorrow. Not today? I really want to leave."

"I'll go talk to the doctor," Asuma said getting up. He walked to the door and looked back. "You two stay here."

"No choice," Kakashi answered smiling under his mask. He turned to Kurenai. "Well, it's nice to finally be able to talk to you."

"Yes. So Asuma told me about you two," Kurenai said looking at Kakashi smiling. "I'm glad that you are still friends. Now a days people break up and never talk again."

"Yeah, I'm glad too. If we weren't friends I'd be alone again," Kakashi said looking at his feet. Kurenai raised an eyebrow in a questioning look. "I'm an orphan. I don't know if I have any family or parents at that. Oh well, I have you and Asuma now."

"I'm back, sorry it took so long. They had me fill out a bunch of paper work," Asuma said opening the door.

"Paper work for what?" Kurenai asked looking at him then Kakashi. Asuma smiled.

"To get Kakashi outta here," he answered smiling wider. Kakashi nearly jumped out of his bed and hugged his friend. Instead he leaned over and hugged Kurenai.

"Thank you so much Asuma. Thank you thank you thank you," Kakashi chanted bouncing on his bed. Asuma smiled as he watched his friend bounce like a giddy school kid.

"Alright, alright, you have to take it easy though. So, no stress," Asuma said calmly. Kakashi nodded excitedly. His head snapped to the door as it opened and Tsunade walked in. "Oh, hi there."

"Hi indeed. Kakashi, I'm here to do a last minute check up. Then you're free to go," she said looking at him sternly. Kakashi nodded and waited. "Alright, sorry but I need to ask you two to leave please. It'll only take a few minutes."

"Yes ma'am," Asuma answered walking out with Kurenai. Tsunade turned back to Kakashi. She quickly checked all of his vitals and other things.

"Alright, no strenuous activity, rest often, take it easy. Also try not to get to excited about things that won't help either. You're free to go," Tsunade said smiling. Kakashi got up and calmly walked to the door opening it. "He'll need different clothes than we've got for him."

"Right, first things first, new clothes," Kakashi said looking at Asuma and Kurenai. They both nodded and left with Kakashi.
