At Gullet…
Their ship was kaput while the crew was escorted from all its use and sailing.
The Golden Scorpions will need to find a new ship while they are able to salvage most of their stuff.
"Hopefully, we can find something discounted or something." Isabel sighed as she looked at the little gold, she had done some side jobs with her crew while getting spices.
"No need to worry, Captain. After the Frogfather's meeting, I may have just the thing for your ship problems." Gaspard promised as they entered the sticky smelly town known as Gullet.
"Thanks, Gaspard. I really appreciate it." Isabel smiled as her scorpion squeaked with joy.
"Anything for Jenny's daughter." Gaspard grinned back as everyone was a little confused.
"Wait, I thought Izzy's mother was named Angela." Lasko voiced.
"Jenny is a nickname for this thing she did, Jenny the Jerked was her title for tying anchor ropes of enemy ships before a getaway. This technique was so popular that it was called a Jerking Jenny." Isabel explained.
"Oh, Izzy, the stories I can tell you about your parents. There is so much I want to tell you." The guinea pig informed with happiness in his voice as they made it to the sanctum.
"Password-."
"Ribbit."
"…Frogfather is expecting you. He is pleased that you are able to get the spice." The Guards informed as Izzy, Egg Shen, and Gaspard entered while the rest of the crew waited outside.
The Frogfather's grin showed as the group was allowed to sit down with the news of the spice in his possession.
"You have done well, my young pirate. You managed to gather the spice, my associate, and all this without linking me to the crime. Well done, well done. Very professional, as were your parents when they once worked for me. My associate has told me who you are, it pleases me that there are still some Quinns in this world, and it brings me joy that you will soon be making a comeback in this world. Your parents left you a present on the docks of Jonah Town before the… incident. But before that, I feel as we still have some unfinished business left to attend to."
"Ratbeard."
"Ratbeard indeed. I will return the favor you have provided me but there is still a problem with what you request. Ratbeard came to collect a favor from me to never tell anyone of where he had gone."
"In the Book of Favors, favors that are given must be taken in return-."
"Yes, thank you. Now, I am bound by that favor and cannot directly lead you to Ratbeard." The Frogfather informed as the girl clenched her fist at Ratbeard's schemes.
"Then what's the indirect route?" Isabel questioned.
"Very direct, like your parents… There is one other who knows where Ratbeard is residing, and I shall allow access to the Skyways to reach him. Find One-eyed Jack, tell him to repay his favor to me by telling you where Ratbeard is and that is all you need to do." The Frogfather informed then presented a key, "Take this, you'll find your parent's gift at the private dock."
"Thanks for the info. I can see how favors get really weird and twisty though." Isabel nodded.
"They do indeed, but that's how favors work for Pirates, Miss Quinn. Remember that as you become a pirate." Frogfather advised.
"Izzy, now that my business with the Frogfather is concluded, I am free to join your crew as I did with your parents." Gaspard smiled as the two shook hands.
"Welcome aboard, Gaspard." Isabel smiled and then hugged her old friend.
"Good luck, Pirate, and be careful."
"I will."
At the Jonah Town Private Dock…
Isabel unlocked the lock and entered the private dock to see what awaited her, a ship, not a galleon but not a raft but rather a Frigate.
"Now, she may not be a pretty ship, but she's pretty sturdy and shall be able to get you from point A to point B more easily," Gaspard informed as the crew checked out their new ship.
"Hopefully she won't fall apart so easily than the raft we were on." Bonnie sighed as they were getting their things on the ship.
"Well, what do you expect from someone like Avery? The man is pretty cheap." Emmet reminded, "But this old girl certainly has grit."
"She'll do just nicely to catch up with Ratbear." Lasko nodded, "Get our treasure and get answers."
"Right." Isabel nodded, still angry with Ratbeard.
"We will find him, Izzy-chan. You have my word." Egg Shen promised.
"It is a pretty ship." Nanu Nanu admired.
"Very interesting…" Itzen Kaan looked around, "Much more space."
"Alright, everyone, we have done enough looking around. It's time that we soar!" The Marchioness declared as everyone got to their stations.
The winds filled the sails, the anchors rose, and the ships began to fly.
"Alright… Squeaky Fish, time to get to Flotsam Skyways, One-eyed Jack, here we come!"
The Golden Scorpions then left the skyways of their home and into another part of Skull Island's World, to the shifty world of Flotsam.
