Back in the lab, Flug was watching the girls and 505 having fun. He decided to look away, muted any audio but still had it recording, and turned his chair 180 degrees.
In every effort he tried to stop these girls from brainwashing his son, he was just pushing him right into their arms.
505 was too good to be a proper villain without assistance. But now, Flug feared one of his worst fears was coming to light: that 505 met someone better for him than he could ever be and that he would lose his love as a result.
All those fears ran through Flug mind as the time came up for him to get the girls to bed. Reluctantly, he got to his feet and started walking back to the room.
Once he got there, Flug found Melanie, Sadie, and 505 sitting on the couch watching luchador wrestling.
"A-alright. Come on, girls," Flug said, keeping his voice stern but flat. "It's time for bed!"
The trio continued watching the wrestling match, clearly not having heard him.
"Girls?" Flug asked, walking closer.
"Oh, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! That's devastating!" Sadie exclaimed at the action.
"Yeah, I can't believe Black Hat would make Flug of all people go in," Melanie added in disgust. "What a prick!"
"I can believe it," Sadie said with a shrug.
"Well, yeah, I can too, but you know what I mean," Melanie said. "It's horrible! This fight couldn't even begin to be fair. I feel so bad for him."
"Ehhh, it's hard for me to feel sorry for him considering what a right bastard he's been to us," Sadie disagreed.
"I know, but I still feel bad for him," said Melanie. "We're supposed to love our enemies and the dude is being beaten mercilessly."
"Aye, it looks like Black Hat was trying to get him killed," said Sadie.
505 hid his face, uncomfortable at reliving the carnage.
Flug got closer and to his horror discovered they were watching his wrestling match against Demencia when she was possessed by the Mask.
"What are you watching?!" Flug freaked out.
505 instantly looked away anxiously, refusing to look into his dad's eyes.
"We wanted to watch some luchador wrestling after our bad day and found this video of you getting your arse kicked," Sadie said. "I won't lie, me boyo. It's hilarious!"
"I pity your suffering, but it kinda is," Melanie said, holding out a bowl to him. "Want some popcorn?"
Flug rushed in front of the TV and attempted to block the footage with his body.
"Hey! We're watching that!" Melanie complained.
"Yeah! Feck outta the way!" Sadie protested as she and Melanie tried looking around him. "This is the most entertainment we've had all day and you're standing in the way! Did you get your manners from a barn?!"
"No, it's just highly inappropriate," Flug lied.
"Sure," Melanie said sarcastically.
"Where's the damn remote?" Flug asked looking around frantically, before plucking it from the couch and turning the TV off.
The two girls groaned loudly.
"What did you have to do that for?" Melanie complained.
"Yeah, you gobshite, it was just getting good!" Sadie also whined.
505 groaned quietly in agreement before getting off the couch and walking away.
"That doesn't matter," said Flug. "It's time for both of you to go to bed."
"Awww, do we have to?" Melanie whined. "We don't wanna sleep."
"Aye, man," Sadie said playfully leaning on Melanie. "We're too old to need bedtimes or a babysitter."
"Is that right?" Flug said, starting to reach for a dart in his coat.
"Is he really getting offended over us watching him get his butt kicked during a wrestling match?" Sadie asked Melanie.
"Yep, his ego is what the French call faible (weak)," Melanie said, prompting chuckles from Sadie.
"This isn't your friend's house, remember?" reminded Flug, as he slyly placed a dart in his gun. "You're here for education and maybe even an attitude adjustment if you keep it up."
"You're not ever going to adjust my attitude," Melanie quipped.
"Come on, Melanie, just do what he says," Sadie said with a shrug. "Maybe he'll let you sleep in my cage with me. It gets quiet and lonely down here."
"Probably not," Melanie replied. "But I guess it couldn't hurt to ask."
"Hey, doctor?" Sadie asked. "Could Melanie…?"
"After all the trouble you two have caused today and tonight? Not a chance!" Flug replied incredulously, aiming the firearm at Sadie. "But I'm sure you'll get to see her tomorrow after all of tomorrow's lessons are finished."
"Hey!" Melanie yelled as Flug pulled the trigger.
Melanie tried pushing Sadie out of the way, but the shot landed in her leg.
"What was that for?!" Melanie yelled as Sadie flopped on her side.
"Sleep was going to come one way or another," Flug said with a shrug. "Say goodnight to your friend and prepare to go to bed."
"You suck," Sadie said as 505 picked her up in his arms.
"Back at you," Flug retorted.
Melanie glared at Flug and then turned back to her friend.
"Goodnight, Sadie," Melanie said, squeezing her hand. "I'll be back as soon as I can. Okay?"
"I know. Goodnight," Sadie replied sadly.
Flug walked to a control board and pressed a button that deactivated the door of the cage allowing 505 to carry Sadie in so he could prepare her for bed.
505 first held Sadie up while he brushed her teeth.
Melanie tried to take the opportunity to sneak through the door of the cage, but she felt something holding her back.
"Time to go to bed, Melanie," Flug said, pulling her back by her shoulder. "Let's go."
"Fine," Melanie said with a sigh.
"505, let's go to bed," said Flug. "505?"
Flug and Melanie looked around to see 505 lining Sadie's cage with his giant fluffy pillows and blankets.
"505, what are you doing?" asked Flug.
505 ignored Flug and continued arranging his pillows.
"Come on, 505," Flug said. "You can't really be sleeping down here?"
505 sat down on the piles of pillows next to say that he was.
"505…" pleaded Flug.
505 looked at Flug one more time before he laid back down on the pillows and pulled a blanket over him.
"Maybe we should go," suggested Melanie.
Flug sighed sadly and nodded.
"Goodnight, guys," Melanie said.
"I'll leave the door unlocked," Flug said. "You can guard her, 505, and I'll see you both in the morning."
"Goodnight," Sadie called back.
505 called back something of the same effect.
With that, Flug and Melanie headed upstairs.
