Episode 339: Roxas's Triple Trouble
Before I begin this chapter, I thought I should answer one of those questions. Hollow Bastion being renamed Radiant Garden will come at the end of Pokémon and Digimon: Sora and Kairi's Journey. It'll be like when Sora, Donald, and Goofy teamed up with Tron in Kingdom Hearts 2 after defeating the MCP. As for the question regarding Mirage Pokémon, I'll think of something for that. Anyway, another question will be answered in this chapter if the title didn't give it away. So, enjoy.
It was shortly after leaving Cerulean City, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple are walking through a forest, but not taking any short cuts along the way since they don't want to get lost again like on their first journey.
Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple made a stop and have some lunch. Kairi has served some Pokemon food for them to eat. Meltan was an exception since it was given some scrap metal Sora had found for Meltan.
"Here. Eat as much as you like," Kairi said kindly.
The Pokémon were eating the food much to their delight. Meltan ate the metal much to its delight.
While the Pokémon were eating, they were being watched by the Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle in the bushes.
Not too long after that, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, and Elaine have started to train for the Pokémon Stadium Cup and for Pokémon Contests. The Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle were watching Roxas closely.
Xion and Celeste were training with Oddish and the female Nidoran when she spotted an Igglybuff. Xion took out a Pokéball and threw it at the Balloon Pokémon, making it flow inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Xion picked up the Pokéball and smiled to herself.
"I got myself a cute little Igglybuff," Xion said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"Great catch, Xion," Roxas said. She turned to see him. Xipak is right beside him.
"Been there long?" Xion asked.
"Just long enough for you to make a catch. Great job," Roxas said.
"Thanks," Xion said. She wrapped her arms around Roxas and he does the same thing with her. "I feel more like Kairi because I feel at peace with your praises."
"Because you deserve the praise, Xion. I mean, you're really cute when you smile," Roxas said.
"Thank you again," Xion said.
"Anytime," Roxas said, giving Xion a kiss on the lips. She kisses him back as Xipak, Celeste, and their other Pokémon are looking at them. They parted lips as they smiled at each other. "If you like, you and I could go have ourselves a stroll. Just the two of us."
"I'd like that," Xion said. Roxas and Xion called their other Pokémon back as they went on a stroll. Roxas texted Sora that they're taking a walk. Sora checks it and smiled.
"Better send something back," Sora said. He tells them not to be long through the text. He looked at Pikachu. "Okay, Pikachu, let's keep training."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Back with Roxas, Xion, Xipak, and Celeste, they were taking a stroll in the forest, holding hands.
"It's very pretty here," Xion said.
"It sure is," Roxas agreed. "The trees, the sunny sky, everything about this forest." He sighed sadly to himself. Xion looked at him, concerned.
"You thinking about Axel?" Xion asked.
"Always. I just wish he didn't have to leave us when he did," Roxas said. "I just miss him like crazy."
"So do I, Roxas. I'll always miss him, and I won't ever stop missing him," Xion said.
"Me neither. I just wish he was with us right now and seeing this," Roxas said.
"He would love this," Xion said.
"Yeah, he would," Roxas agreed as he continued to hold Xion's hand. The sun shines down in the forest. Their moment is interrupted when they hear the sound of Pokémon and not wild Pokémon. They went to investigate the source of the sound. When they went further, they saw three people with their own Pokémon.
A young woman seems to be in her mid-teen years. She has black eyes and brown eyebrows. She has brown hair too except the hair is relatively short. For clothing, she wears a blue t-shirt with white handles on the top of it. The shirt has a Pokéball necklace on it. She wears a pair of tan long pants with bright brown shoes for the girl's feet. She has a Blastoise, a Dewgong, a Wigglytuff, a Rapidash, a Vileplume, and a Ninetales.
With her is a young man with bluish green hair, and wore an orange jacket and sweats. He wore a pair of blue shoes. His Pokémon consisted of a Venusaur, a Scyther, a Pidgeot, a Sandslash, a Hitmonlee, and a Rhyhorn.
With them is a young man with brown hair and black eyes. He is wearing a sleeveless aqua shirt, gray shorts, brown fingerless gloves, orange and black shoes with yellow heels. His Pokémon consisted of a Gyarados, a Tentacruel, a Vaporeon, a Golduck, a Nidoqueen, and a Seadra.
They were all doing some training of their own. While they were training, the young man in orange noticed the couple.
"Well, looks like we got ourselves a small audience," the young man said with a smug expression.
"We were just passing by and we saw you three here," Roxas said.
"What are you doing in this forest anyway?" Xion asked.
"Just training for the Pokémon Stadium Cup. The name's Corey," Corey introduced himself.
"The name's Fergus," Fergus introduced himself.
"I'm Neesha. What are your names?" Neesha asked.
"I'm Roxas," Roxas introduced himself.
"My name's Xion," Xion introduced herself.
"Roxas, Xion? Weird names," Corey said.
"Be nice, Corey," Neesha said.
"Didn't you mention you were training for the Pokémon Stadium Cup?" Roxas asked.
"Yeah, we are. Why? Are you two in the competition?" Fergus asked.
"I am," Roxas said. "I was taking a break when we stumbled on the three of you."
"Looks like we got us another rival here," Corey said.
"This should be interesting," Fergus said.
"How about you battle me here?" Corey asked.
"Battle?" Roxas asked.
"You heard me," Corey said. "Let's make it one-on-one."
"Okay, let's go," Roxas said. He looked at Xipak. "Okay, Xipak. You're up."
"Let's go, Bruteroot!" Corey said.
"Saur!" Bruteroot said, stepping forward. The Venusaur looked at Xipak.
"He could have used Sandslash or Rhyhorn against that Pikachu," Neesha pointed out.
"You know that isn't his style," Fergus said.
"Whatever," Neesha said. She looked right at Roxas long and hard. She said in her thoughts, "I know I've seen him before, but where? He seems so very familiar to me."
"Okay, Bruteroot! Razor Leaf!" Corey ordered. Bruteroot fired Razor Leaf at Xipak.
"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Roxas ordered. Xipak avoids Bruteroot's Razor Lead with his incredible speed. "Use Iron Tail!" Xipak lands an Iron Tail in the face.
"Use Energy Ball!" Corey ordered. Bruteroot fired Energy Ball right at Xipak.
"Use Electro Ball to block!" Roxas ordered. Xipak fires Electro Ball to block Bruteroot's Energy Ball. It results in an explosion.
"Use Vine Whip!" Corey ordered. Bruteroot extends his vine at the Pikachu.
"Try to dodge it!" Roxas called out. Xipak tried to dodge Bruteroot's Vine Whip, but got struck on the mark.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Roxas ordered. Xipak gave Bruteroot a shock with Thunderbolt, dealing some little damage due to his resistance to Electric-type attacks. Bruteroot is now paralyzed from Xipak's Thunderbolt. "Use Iron Tail!" Xipak swings his tail at Bruteroot's face.
"Use Trailblaze!" Corey ordered. Bruteroot charges at Xipak with Trailblaze.
"Thunderbolt! Full power!" Roxas ordered. Xipak fired Thunderbolt, shocking the Venusaur, knocking him out.
"Bruteroot!" Corey gasped.
"Venusaur," Bruteroot weakly said.
"I didn't think a puny Pikachu could beat my Brutegroot like that," Corey said. Roxas took out a Pecha Berry and hands it to Corey.
"Here, have Bruteroot eat this," Roxas said.
"Thanks," Corey said, taking the Pecha Berry. "Here, Bruteroot. Eat this." He feeds it to Bruteroot. The Venusaur eats the berry.
"Saur," Bruteroot said.
"Gotta hand it you, Roxas. That's a tough Pikachu you got," Corey said.
"Thanks. Your Venusaur is pretty awesome, too," Roxas said, petting Bruteroot. "I can tell you raised him right."
"Thanks," Corey said.
"That was really impressive, Roxas," Fergus said.
"You really surprised me," Neesha said.
Just then, Heartless appeared all around. The Heartless were Shadows, Soldiers, Armored Knights, and Watchers.
"Watch out!" Roxas exclaimed. The Heartless went after the Pokémon.
"Monsters!" Fergus exclaimed.
"Not now!" Roxas exclaimed. He and Xion summoned their Keyblades and engaged the Heartless. Corey, Fergus, and Neesha were surprised to see the Keyblades as Roxas and Xion struck down the Heartless and they weren't afraid of them.
"Those look like keys," Corey said.
"And they're using them like swords," Fergus added.
The Pokémon helped them. Gyarados bit an Armored Knight in half as Scyther slashed through a Watcher. Xion casts a fire spell as Roxas threw his Keyblade at the Heartless, taking them out.
"Did she just use fire?" Neesha asked.
The Shadows rushed at Roxas as he struck them down with a single swipe of his Keyblade. He then dashed through the Shadows and Soldiers, destroying them. More of them were coming when the Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle came to their aid. Roxas looked at how unique they looked.
"A Bulbasaur, a Squirtle, and a Charmander?" Roxas asked.
"Pika," Xipak said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
The Bulbasaur attacked with Vine Whip as the Charmander attacked with an Ember, and the Squirtle attacked with a Bubble. They were fighting the Heartless along with Roxas and Xion. Xipak fired a Thunderbolt as Celeste fired Swift at the Heartless, destroying them. The last of the Heartless was struck by the Squirtle's Tackle.
"Thanks for the save, you three. You really saved us," Roxas said, dismissing his Keyblade. Xion dismissed hers, too. The Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle nodded.
"Roxas, I think they want to be with you, Roxas," Xion said.
"You sure, Xion?" Roxas asked.
"I'm sure. You did help them after all," Xion said. Roxas nodded as he agreed. He took out three Pokéballs for each one of them.
"Okay, you three. Welcome to the group," Roxas said. Threw the Pokéballs as the Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle jumped up and they tapped the buttons on the Pokéballs. All three flowed inside. The Pokéballs wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéballs to confirm the catch. Roxas picked each one of them up and he smiled, feeling proud.
"Roxas, Xion," Neesha said. They turned to see the three Trainers who were still stunned from what they saw. "What was all that?"
"It looks like the Torracat's out of the bag," Xion said.
"You're right, Xion," Roxas agreed with his girlfriend. "What you just saw us use were weapons called Keyblades. And those monsters you saw us fighting were the Heartless."
"Heartless? Is that what they're really called?" Corey asked.
"Yeah. The Heartless comes from the darkness in people's hearts and they feed off of that darkness, and go after your hearts," Roxas said.
"Sounds like you know all about them, don't you?" Fergus asked.
"More than you think," Xion said.
"And they're very bad news, but you already found out for yourselves," Roxas said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"But you saved our lives when you took out those things," Corey said.
"He's right. I don't think we wouldn't be here if you hadn't," Neesha said.
"Well, we couldn't let them take you," Roxas said.
Meanwhile, back with Sora and Pikachu, they met up with Kairi, Chase, Elaine, and their respective partners.
"How did it go for you?" Sora asked.
"Well, I caught myself a Squirtle, a Bulbasaur, and a Charmander," Chase said.
"I caught an Oddish, a Vulpix, and a Pichu," Elaine said.
"I think I got some practice for when I enter a Contest," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Great," Sora said. He noticed Roxas and Xion aren't haven't come back. "Hey, shouldn't Roxas and Xion have already come back by now?" Sora asked.
"You don't think something happened to them, do you?" Elaine asked.
"We better go look for them just in case something had did happen," Chase said.
"He's right. Roxas and Xion could run into trouble with us not around," Kairi said.
"Okay, we'll go look for them and hope they're okay," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Unknown to the group, there's a group of Trainers who were watching them from the shrubs.
"That's him. Sora Ketchum. Pokémon League Champion, and the very reason we ended up in prison," one of the Trainers said.
"Team Rocket was on top of the criminal underworld in all of the Kanto region until he came and ruined everything," another Trainer said.
"He stuck his nose into our business and he had us arrested!" The first Trainer said. He growled. "How could I forget that day when he brought the international police with him and had us all arrested!"
"We didn't break out of prison just to sit on the sidelines!" Another Trainer said.
"Yeah. We're here to make him pay and bring Team Rocket back!" The first Trainer said.
"Yeah!" The rest of the Trainers agreed.
Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Volt. and Celeste ran through the fores, looking for Roxas and Xion.
"Roxas, Xion, where are you?" Sora asked.
"Answer us if you can hear us!" Kairi called out.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu called out.
"Eevee!" Angel called out.
"Roxas!" Chase called out.
"Xion!" Elaine called out.
"Pika, Pika!" Volt called out.
"Eevee!" Celeste called out.
"Roxas, Xion! Where are you?!" Sora called out.
"We're close. What's all the yelling about?" Roxas asked. Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, and their partners saw Roxas, Xion, and their partners along with three other Trainers they hadn't met before.
"What a relief," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"We were just looking for you," Sora said.
"Sorry for taking so long. We kinda lost track of time," Roxas said. Neesha looked right at Sora.
"Wait a second! I know you! You're Sora Ketchum, aren't you?" Neesha asked.
"Yeah. Why?" Sora asked.
"Wait. Sora Ketchum? The same kid who won the Hoenn Pokémon League not too long ago?" Fergus asked.
"She's right, it is him," Corey said. He stroked his chin. "Although, he's a bit shorter than I thought."
"Wait, I think I know you. Corey, Neesha, and Fergus, right?" Sora asked.
"So, you know about us, too?" Fergus asked.
"Yeah. I heard you're a skilled Water-type Pokémon Trainer. You're only exception is a Nidoqueen since Nidoqueen is a Poison-type and a Ground-type Pokémon. But you use your Nidoqueen to block Electric-type attacks," Sora pointed out.
"Yeah, but Gyarados is my ace Pokémon," Fergus said.
"So, you know Roxas and Xion?" Corey asked.
"Yeah, Roxas is my adopted brother, and Xion is her adopted sister," Sora said, gesturing to Kairi.
"Adopted? You sure? You look like you can be twins" Neesha said, looking between Sora and Roxas and then Kairi and Xion.
"It's a lot complicated than that," Sora said.
Just then, an Electrode appeared, alerting everyone.
"An Electrode?" Kairi asked.
"Use Self-Desruct!" A voice ordered. Electrode to glow brightly.
"Watch out!" Sora shouted, knowing what was coming. Everyone hits the deck when Electrode explodes. "What was that about?"
"Sora Ketchum!" The same voice barked. Sora looked right at the Trainers arriving to the scene. "We have a score to settle with you!"
"Who are you?" Sora asked.
"We used to be with Team Rocket until you took us down!" The first Trainer said.
"You were with Team Rocket?" Chase asked.
"You heard me!" The first Trainer said.
"Because of you, Team Rocket's history!" Another Trainer said.
"So, we're here to get some payback from you for it, you little do-good delinquent!" Another Trainer said.
"You expect me to say I'm sorry? Well, I'm not! Someone had to put a stop to you! You go around stealing other people's Pokémon instead of catching Pokémon the right way!" Sora stated.
"He's right! You guys have no sense of honor," Fergus said.
"Honor is overrated," the first Trainer said, taking out some of his Pokéballs and threw them. "Go!" His Pokéballs opened and an Alolan Muk, a Galarian Weezing, a Weavile, and Granbull emerged from inside. The others threw their Pokéballs and out came Pupitar, an Electabuzz, a Kantonian Marowak, a Hitmontop, a Houndoom, an Arbok, an Alolan Sandslash, a Pinsir, a Kantonian Golem, a Mightyena, a Sableye, a Tentacruel, a Cacturne, a Seviper, an Ariados, a Golbat, a Crawdaunt, a Shiftry, a Glalie, an Ursaring, a Donphan, an Octillery, a Cemerupt, and an Absol. "Go get 'em!" The Pokémon all launched their attacks on the group.
"Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu fired Thunderbolt, shocking most of the Pokémon. The Ground-types were unaffected.
"Angel! Use Swift!" Kairi ordered. Angel fired Swift at the opposing Pokémon. Roxas decided to join in the fray against the former Team Rocket members, so he took out the Pokéballs containing his newest Pokémon and threw them.
"Go!" Roxas called out. His Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle emerged from inside, ready to battle. Sora was awestruck when he saw the markings on them.
"Roxas, you caught these three?" Sora asked.
"Yeah. One of the reasons I was late," Roxas said.
"Get them!" The first Trainer ordered. The Pokémon came after them.
"Bulbasaur! Vine Whip! Charmander! Ember! Squirtle! Water Gun!" Roxas ordered. Bulbasaur managed to smack the Pokémon with Vine Whip as Charmander unleashed Ember and Squirtle fired Water Gun, hitting the opposing Pokémon.
"We're joining in, too!" Corey said, taking out his Pokéball and threw it. "Go! Bruteroot!" His Pokéball opened and Bruteroot came out to battle. Neesha took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Shellshocker!" Neesha called out. Her Blastoise came out along with Bruteroot. Fergus took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Gyarados! I choose you!" Fergus called out. His Pokéball opened and his Gyarados emerged from inside to battle.
"Bruteroot! Razor Leaf!" Corey ordered.
"Shellshocker! Hydro Pump!" Neesha ordered.
"Gyarados! Hyper Beam!" Fergus ordered.
The three Pokémon fired their attacks at the opposing Pokémon, knocking some of them out. Muk, Weezing, Weavile and Granbull were still standing.
"Charmander! Use Scratch! Squirtle, Bulbasaur! Tackle!" Roxas ordered. Bulbasaur and Squirtle tackled Weavile and Granbull as Charmander scratches Muk.
"Weezing! Use Strange Stream!" The first Trainer ordered.
"Dodge it!" Roxas called out. Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle dodged Weezing's attack. "Bulbasaur! Leech Seed on Weezing!" Bulbasaur fired Leech Seed from its bulb, hitting Weezing. The Galarian Poison Gas Pokémon began to lose its energy. "Charmander! Ember on Weavile!" Charmander fired Ember on Weavile, hitting it on the mark. "Squirtle! Water Gun on Granbull and Muk!" Squirtle fired Water Gun, hitting the opposing Pokémon on the mark. "Xipak! Thunderbolt!" Xipak unleashed Thunderbolt, shocking his Pokémon, knocking them out.
Knowing that they lost, the former Team Rocket members called their fallen Pokémon back and began running off.
"We're going to remember this!" A random Trainer exclaimed.
"You'll pay through the nose next time!" Another Trainer yelled.
"Wow, Roxas, that was awesome," Sora said.
"What can you expect?" Roxas asked. He looked at his newest Pokémon. "I couldn't have done it without these three." Roxas smiled as he looked at them. "You three are awesome together. And I can make you even more awesome." Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle beamed and they accepted Roxas's words.
Later, Corey, Neesha, and Fergus joined Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple as Roxas and Xion shared with the rest about Roxas's battle against Corey and Bruteroot and about the Heartless attacking. Sora wasn't surprised to hear Heartless were attacking again, so Corey, Neesha, and Fergus promised to keep what they learned a secret.
Later, as the sun was setting, the two groups stood in front of each other.
"Well, we should be going," Sora said.
"Just you know, just because Roxas saved our lives, it doesn't mean we're going on easy on you," Corey said.
"I wouldn't want you to, Corey. I would want you to give me everything you got," Roxas said.
"That's the spirit, Roxas," Kairi said.
"Also, good luck in your Contests, Kairi," Neesha said.
"After winning the Grand Festival in Hoenn, she isn't going to need luck," Corey said.
"Just hope we don't end up being your opponents in the Pokémon Stadium Cup, Sora and Roxas," Fergus said.
"We're not going to hope too much," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple said goodbye to their new friends and they went back on their journey, knowing more adventure was coming their way.
