Episode 341: Rough, Tough Jigglypuff
A day after the whole Rock-type Pokémon attack, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Chase, Elaine, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, and Maple are wondering through a forest when they were caught in a net, hanging them up in a tree.
"WHOA!" Everyone exclaimed.
"Hey, where the hell did this net come from?!" Sora asked.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Whoever set this up definitely didn't want any visitors," Chase said.
"Pika!" Volt said.
"If only it weren't so cramped, one of us could use our Keyblades to cut us down," Roxas said.
"It would be a lot easier for us," Xion said.
"Loudred!" A voice said. Everyone looked down and saw a Loudred standing neneath them.
"A Loudred," Kairi said.
"Where did it come from?" Roxas asked.
"I don't know," Chase said.
Just then, a man wearing an explorer's outfit and a pair of glasses came running in. He has a brown beard.
"Oh, I am so sorry! I'll have you down in a jiffy! You see, the trap is actually for someone else," the man said. The whole group just looked at him, puzzled. The man gets them down and cuts the net, letting them out. "Again, I'm so very sorry you ended up caught in one of my traps."
"It's okay. None of us were hurt," Chase said.
"I'm glad. Come with me to my cabin," the man said.
"He seems nice enough," Elaine said.
"And he did say he wasn't trying to trap us," Chase added.
"Pikachu," Volt said.
"Vee," Maple said.
"I wonder who he was trying to trap," Roxas said.
"You don't think it could be some Pokémon Hunters, do you?" Chase asked.
"Or some ex-members of Team Rocket?" Xion asked.
"I don't know. Maybe we can hear the whole story when he explains his side of the story," Sora said.
"He's right. I would like to get to know that Loudred," Chase said.
With that said, the group followed the man and his Loudred over to his cabin. Once inside, he offers them some tea as an apology.
"Here's my business card. I'm actually a big executive. Or at least I used to be," the man said.
"Let's see," Kairi said. She begins reading it. "'Mitch Mitcham, taste tester executive, PokéBlock Unlimited."
"Pleased to meet you, everyone. And of course, you've met my noisy friend, Loudred," Mitch said.
"Loudred," Loudred said.
"This is the first time I have ever seen a Loudred up close," Chase said, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.

Loudred is able to stomp its feet to emit sound-based attacks so powerful, they can blow houses away.
"So cool," Chase said.
"I never seen a Loudred before, either. I seriously want one," Elaine said.
"Loudred can't be found in the Kanto region, so I'm going to guess you went to Hoenn to catch him?" Kairi asked.
"Actually, I caught this Loudred on a business trip in the Kalos region. I thought of bringing back a new Pokémon for the family," Mitch said.
"Well, you look like you did a great job raising him," Kairi said.
"Thank you. Again, I am so sorry for capturing you. The least I could do is allow you to have a sample of my company's new PokéBlock," Mitch offered.
"That'll be great," Xion said.
Taking him up on his offer, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, and Elaine have let out their Pokémon and allowed them to taste the PokéBlock. The Pokémon all instantly liked the PokéBlock. Well, all except for Meltan since its diet is exclusive to metal.
"Wow, they really like it," Elaine said.
"Considering that it's already gone," Roxas said.
"Thank you for saying so. This was my last project before I left the factory," Mitch said, smiling.
"Yeah, why did you leave the factory, Mitch? And who was that trap really for?" Roxas asked.
"Well, see, it's kinda complicated," Mitch said.
The Pokémon all hear something coming, thinking it could be Heartless. The Trainers were also alerted.
"Something's coming," Sora said.
"Not again," Elaine said.
"Loud," Loudred said, raising his arms.
"How close is it, Loudred?" Mitch asked.
"Loudred," Loudred said.
"How close is what?" Chase asked.
"I think we're about to find out," Kairi said.
The rustling grew louder as the mysterious creature is coming closer and closer. The Pokémon are all on high alert, preparing to fight whatever is coming. They saw the bushes moving, so they figured it was small enough. They all became anxious to see what it is. After a few seconds, a Jigglypuff jumped out of the bushes.
"Jigglypuff?!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed. They assumed it was the same Jigglypuff that sings and doodles on everyone's faces when everyone was sleeping, but they took a closer look and saw it was a completely different one. Especially for the fact it wasn't carrying its microphone marker.
"Wait, it's not the Jigglypuff we know," Sora said.
"You're right, it couldn't be her," Kairi said.
Meanwhile, the Jigglypuff they were talking about suddenly sneezed. She quickly shook it off and saw a group of people, thinking it was an audience to sing for. She happily rushes over to the people. Harley and his Cacturne were among the people, practicing for a Pokémon Contest.
"Alright, Cacturne! Bullet Seed!" Harley ordered. Cacturne fired Bullet Seed. Harley smugly grinned. "Always better than the rest."
"Jiggly!" The microphone-holding Jigglypuff said. Harley saw the Balloon Pokémon and he smiled.
"What do you know, a Jigglypuff! What's that you got in your hand there? Is that a microphone?" Harley asked.
"Puff," the microphone-wielding Jigglypuff nodded.
"Are you going to sing your song for us?" Harley asked. She then started singing her song. As she sang, everyone around her were starting to feel drowsy. Harley yawned. "So sleepy. Nighty night." He sleeps soundly as Cacturne sleeps besides his Trainer.
The microphone-wielding Jigglypuff stops singing when she saw her audience were fast asleep. Angered, she huffed up and begins doodling on everyone's faces, starting with Harley and then Cacturne.
Back at the cabin, the group were looking directly at the Jigglypuff.
"Oh, what a cutie!" Elaine cooed with hearts in her eyes.
"Stand back, everyone! Leave this Jigglypuff to me! I don't want anyone to get hurt!" Mitch stated.
"Go for it," Sora said.
"Jigglypuff, you're going down! Hit it with Mega Punch!" Mitch ordered. Loudred lands a Mega Punch onto Jigglypuff. The Balloon Pokémon bounced off a tree and on its feet. Jigglypuff just smirked very smugly.
"Look at that. That Jigglypuff just took that hit like it didn't do anything," Roxas said.
"Yeah, and Mega Punch is a powerful move," Sora said.
"Okay then, Loudred! Use Hyper Voice, now!" Mitch ordered. Mitch saw how Loudred isn't doing anything. "Huh? Loudred? What's the matter?" It turns out Loudred is infatuated with Jigglypuff. "Now what?"
"What's up with Loudred?" Chase asked.
"Loudred must have triggered Cute Charm," Kairi said.
"What's Cute Charm?" Chase asked.
"Cute Charm is Jigglypuff's ability. It can cause a Pokémon of the opposite gender to fall in love with its opponent when making physical contact. And when a Pokémon is in love with its opponent during battle, it can prevent the Pokémon from attacking. And since Loudred's a boy, Jigglypuff is a girl," Kairi said.
"So that's what keeps happening!" Mitch exclaimed, realizing the situation. Loudred looked at Jigglypuff in a loving gaze, but Jigglypuff just laughed. Jigglypuff then attacks with Flamethrower, hitting Loudred. Jigglypuff then begins singing. Music notes flew all around.
"Oh, no! Jigglypuff's using Sing!" Sora exclaimed.
"That's not fair!" Elaine exclaimed when she yawned.
"Putting an opponent to sleep isn't against the rules," Sora said with a loud yawn.
"I'm getting so sleepy," Xion yawned.
"So am I," Roxas in a yawn.
"Goodnight," Kairi said, falling asleep.
"Don't fall asleep," Mitch said, falling asleep. All of the Pokémon all fell asleep from Jigglypuff's song, except for Loudred due to his Soundproof ability. Jigglypuff just laughed before taking off. Once Jigglypuff was gone, Loudred snapped out of his infatuation, he saw everyone sleeping and went over to Mitch and shook him awake. He bolts straight up. "Jigglypuff! Where are you?!" He looked around and saw his target had escaped. He sighed. "Sorry, Loudred. I was sure we had it this time! I thought today was the day we've finally captured it! What do I do?! What do I do?! Why do you keep torturing me like this, Jigglypuff?!" The Balloon Pokémon didn't get too far away as she laughed at Mitch's misfortune. This wakes up the group.
"Keep your voice down, I'm trying to sleep," Sora said, rubbing his eyes.
"Do you have to be so loud?" Chase asked in a drowsy tone. He shook his head. "Hey, wait! Weren't we after a Jigglypuff just now?"
"You're right, Chase. That Jigglypuff sang her lullaby and we fell asleep," Roxas said.
"At least it's not that certain Jigglypuff again," Kairi said.
A little while later, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, and Xion still had their Pokémon out, keeping their eyes opened for the elusive Jigglypuff. The Pidgey were flying around as Raichu was looking to the left and the right. Arcanine and Houndoom were on high alert like a couple of guard dogs. Scizor flew in the sky along with Tropius and Togetic.
"We got plenty of lookouts, so that Jigglypuff won't be able to show her face without us knowing," Roxas said.
"Thanks for the assist," Mitch said.
Elaine noticed a picture over the fireplace. She saw it was Mitch without his beard, and the woman in the picture is his wife and the girl is his daughter.
"Is that a picture of you and your family?" Elaine asked.
"Yes, that's me right there. And the lady there is my wife and the little girl is my daughter," Mitch said, holding up the picture.
"Your daughter's really cute," Elaine said.
"She looks like her mom, right? Her name is Lisa, and she'll be five-years-old pretty soon. But it's been about six months since I've seen her," Mitch said.
"That seems like a long time to be away from your family," Chase said.
"Why didn't you go home?" Roxas asked.
"Well, it's a strange story," Mitch started.
(Flashback)
We go back to six months ago when Lisia stood before her father.
"Daddy, the only thing I want for my birthday this year is a Jigglypuff. I want to dance with a Jigglypuff, and sing with a Jigglypuff, and do all kinds of fun things with it," Lisa said.
"I couldn't disappoint her, so the next day, I requested time off from work, and I came to these woods where Jigglypuff are known to live in, thinking it would take a few days to catch one. So, I brought my Loudred with me because I thought he'd keep me company. But faster than a Yanma can flap its wings, I did find one! Being an amateur Pokémon Trainer, I tried catching it without battling it first, and it sang its song to me, I eventually gotten used to sleeping on the ground. After a while, it became a game for that Jigglypuff. In our daily routine, I tried to catch it and Jigglypuff ends up using Sing on me. I got worried as my daughter's approached, and I began doing my research on doing Pokémon training. I've read that I needed to tire out the Jigglypuff before I try to capture it, and that's when I remembered my Loudred. The only reason I caught my Loudred in the first place was because I got lucky. I did some further reading and saw that Loudred has the ability known as Soundproof, so Loudred will stay awake even through Jigglypuff's lullaby, so I had the upper hand right from the start... Or so I thought. Whenever I sent out my Loudred out to battle, Loudred ended up being smittened by Jigglypuff's Cute Charm every time and without fail," Mitch narrated.
We see scenes of Jigglypuff toying with Mitch. Mitch threw Pokéballs at the Balloon Pokémon repeatedly, only to miss. So Mitch fell asleep whenever Jigglypuff sang her song. It turned the same when Mitch would try again. The scene changes to Mitch reading a book on training Pokémon, and he remembered Loudred. He has Loudred battling Jigglypuff, but ends up falling in love with Jigglypuff due to Cute Charm.

"But so far, I'm empty-handed," Mitch said.
"After what we saw, it's no wonder you had a hard time catching that Jigglypuff," Sora said.
"But, didn't you say your daughter's birthday is coming up soon?" Elaine pointed out.
"Yes. Very soon. In fact, it's tomorrow," Mitch said.
"Tomorrow?" Roxas asked.
"That means today is your last chance to catch Jigglypuff," Kairi said.
"I suppose, but I know I'm not going to make that deadline. In fact, I wrote to tell her, I won't be home for her birthday," Mitch said.
"Sounds like you put yourself in quite a boat," Xion said.
"Yeah, I put myself in it, alright, and I'm doing everything I can to keep myself out of the water. Especially when I made a promise to my daughter to catch it. Most people would have given trying to catch it, but I'm like other people, I guess. My daughter wants a Jigglypuff and I'm going to get it for her, even if it kills me," Mitch said.
"Then, it's a good thing we're here. How would you like it if we helped you out with catching that Jigglypuff?" Sora offered. Mitch was surprised by what Sora said.
"You would do that?" Mitch asked.
"Sure we would. And I will guarantee that Jigglypuff will be good as caught before your daughter starts blowing out the birthday candles," Sora said.
"If my brother's in, then I guess I'm in, too," Roxas said.
"You don't need to convince me, because I'm already on board," Kairi said.
"Me too," Xion said.
"I'm in, too," Chase said.
"So am I," Elaine said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu, Xipak, and Volt said.
"Eevee!" Angel, Celeste, and Maple all said.
"This is just fantastic! Thank you, everyone! With all of your experience, we're bound to be successful!" Mitch said.
"We just need to cook up a plan to get that Jigglypuff before she gets away again," Roxas said.
Outside, a Pinsir was happily eating some Pecha Berries from a nearby bush. Just when the Stag Beetle Pokémon was about to eat another one, it felt a tuft of hair and saw the Balloon Pokémon.
"Hey, no way! These Pecha Berries are mine!" - Pinsir subtitle. It clamps its pincers, trying to intimidate Jigglypuff, but she wasn't easy to scare off. Jigglypuff fired Flamethrower at the Stag Beetle Pokémon. Angered, Pinsir charges at Jigglypuff, only for her to use Sing. Pinsir was then starting to feel drowsy, so it fell right to sleep.
Loudred picked up on the song and went inside.
"Loudred, Loudred!" Loudred exclaimed.
"Jigglypuff is close by!" Xion exclaimed.
"Take us where she is!" Mitch said.
With that said, Loudred leads everyone to where Jigglypuff is singing. She stopped singing and ate a Pecha Berry. Roxas and Chase's Pidgey flew over her, surprising her.
"There she is!" Elaine said. Jigglypuff saw the group stopping.
"Look at that. That Pinsir must have been picking a fight against Jigglypuff," Sora said.
"Jigglypuff! It's you and me!" Mitch said. Jigglypuff backflipped on a rock, ready to battle against Mitch.
"How about we help out, Mitch?" Chase offered.
"Chase, be careful of Jigglypuff's Cute Charm. Thunder Shock is your best option to avoid physical contact," Sora said.
"Right," Chase said.
"Mitch, try Uproar. I know Loudred can't fall asleep because of Soundproof, but Uproar will render Jigglypuff's Sing useless," Kairi said.
"Okay. Loudred! Use Uproar!" Mitch ordered. Loudred began to stomp around, creating powerful soundwaves.
"Okay, Volt! Use Thunder Shock!" Chase ordered. Volt fired Thunder Shock, but Jigglypuff easily dodged Volt's Thunder Shock. "No way!"
"Jigglypuff is flying!" Roxas said.
Jigglypuff begins to roll into Volt with a Rollout, hitting Volt on the mark.
"Jigglypuff's using Rollout!" Sora said.
"And that gets stronger every time it lands a hit," Roxas added.
Jigglypuff lands another hit onto Volt, dealing some heavy damage. Jigglypuff rolled into the sleeping Stag Beetle Pokémon, sending it flying in the air and right into the forest. Pinsir woke up and looked around.
"Hey, how did I get here?" - Pinsir subtitle.
Back with the group, Jigglypuff blew a raspberry at the group. Jigglypuff took off in the woods.
"Hey, come back here!" Chase called out.
"That Jigglypuff is toying with us. There is no way she'll ever allow herself to be caught so easily," Xion said.
"You're right. We're gonna need another new approach," Elaine said.
"Yeah, but what?" Sora asked.
Everyone began pondering on what to do, but then Kairi gets an idea.
"I think I got something," Kairi said.
"Yeah? Lay it on us," Sora said.
"Yeah, what's your idea?" Chase asked.
"Gather around in a huddle," Kairi said. Everyone huddled up and Kairi whispered her plan. Chase chuckled to himself, liking the idea. Mitch nodded. "Is everyone clear?"
"Crystal clear," Sora, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, and Mitch all said.
Later, Kairi poured in some Pokémon food in a bowl, hoping it'll lure out Jigglypuff from wherever she was hiding. Kairi hid in the bushes with the rest of the group.
"Good thinking on using the Pokémon food as bait to lure out Jigglypuff, Kairi," Elaine said.
"Just a little something I remembered when Sora caught his Corphish back on Dewford Island, only without the pitfalls," Kairi said.
"Well, I hope this one works," Chase said.
"Me too. It's gotta work," Roxas said.
"But how will we know she'll eat it?" Mitch asked.
"Oh, she'll eat it. There isn't a Pokémon alive that won't resist eating Kairi's Pokémon food," Sora said. Kairi giggled.
"I didn't do anything special. All I did was make my own blend that should cater to the taste buds of Normal and Fairy-type Pokémon like Jigglypuff. You just worry about catching Jigglypuff while she's eating," Kairi said.
"You can leave the rest to us," Xion said.
"You got it," Mitch said.
"Guys, I see her," Sora said.
Jigglypuff comes, seeing the bowl of food in front of the door. Jigglypuff took a taste of Kairi's Pokémon food and she didn't like it. This shocked Kairi greatly.
"What the?! Jigglypuff hates it?!" Kairi exclaimed in shock. She hangs her head in shame.
"Maybe it just needed salt," Mitch said.
"I did everything absolutely right. Jigglypuff should have been all over it. I added in the perfect amount of ingredients and everything that a Jigglypuff could possibly like. I am an absolute failure," Kairi said.
"No, you're not, Kairi. You're never a failure! You'll always be a success in my eyes," Sora said, trying to make his girlfriend feel better.
Jigglypuff just laughed and took off.
"Well, so much for using the food as bait," Roxas said.
"We're gonna have to take another approach," Chase said.
"Yeah, but what?" Roxas asked.
Everyone began to brainstorm about their next plan of attack. Xion then gets an idea.
"I got it!" Xion said. Everyone all looked at her.
"What?" Kairi asked.
Later, everyone stepped out of the cabin, after going through with Xion's plan.
"This seems kinda risky," Mitch said.
"It's okay, so don't worry," Elaine said.
"And if it doesn't work, we could just come up with something else," Xion said.
"The odds are against us, and that only makes the excitement even greater," Sora said.
"You guys are the best. Thanks for going through all this trouble," Mitch said.
"It's the least we can do for you and for Lisa," Roxas said.
"Yes. Her birthday. Just one more day to go," Mitch said. He cleared his throat. "Jigglypuff, I hearby challenge you to come out and face me in battle!"
It didn't take nearly long for Jigglypuff to accept the challenge. She comes in front of Loudred, ready to battle.
"There she is," Chase said.
"Loudred! Hyper Voice!" Mitch ordered. Loudred unleashed Hyper Voice at the Balloon Pokémon.
"This is going great. The only way Jigglypuff can get out of it is by using Rollout," Sora said. Jigglypuff then uses Rollout and heads right for Loudred.
"She's taking the bait," Kairi said. Jigglypuff rolls even closer to Loudred.
"Get ready, Loudred! Dodge it, now!" Mitch called out. Loudred managed to dodge Jigglypuff's Rollout. Sora and Chase shuts the door on Jigglypuff, trapping her inside.
"Gotcha!" Chase said.
"Good job, you guys!" Mitch said.
"That was only phase one," Roxas said.
"And phase two is Angel battling Jigglypuff," Sora said.
"Which works out perfectly since Angel is immune to Jigglypuff's Cute Charm because she's a girl," Roxas said.
"And a good thing, too," Kairi said.
Inside, Jigglypuff uncurls and saw that the whole cabin is now metal-coated. Not only that, but she had no way out. Angel then steps behind her.
"Eevee!" Angel said. Jigglypuff turned around and saw her. Jigglypuff just stared at her opponent smugly.
"So, you think you got me trapped, huh? I can play this game all day!" - Jigglypuff subtitle.
"The fun's over, Jigglypuff. I'm going to make you pay for disrespecting Kairi's cooking the way you did, you ungrateful powderpuff." - Angel subtitle.
"You're gonna try, girlie. My Cute Charm may not work on you, but I'm still going to open up a can of whoop-tail on you!" - Jigglypuff subtitle. Angel came at Jigglypuff with Iron Tail, but she dodged and fired Flamethrower at her. Angel managed to dodge and the flames are redirected on the walls. Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, Mitch Pikachu, Xipak, Celeste, Volt, Maple, and Loudred are watching from outside.
"Wow, I knew Angel is a fast Eevee, but she's way faster than I thought," Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple said, feeling inspired.
"Yeah, but she'll keep it up until Jigglypuff uses Sing," Sora said.
"Come on. Sing, Jigglypuff, sing," Mitch said.
Angel attempts a Quick Attack, but Jigglypuff dodged and rammed into her with a great force of her body. Jigglypuff then begins to sing her song.
"It's working. Jigglypuff's using Sing," Roxas said.
"I gotta tell you, Xion, that was a real hot idea," Chase said.
"Just an idea I got from a movie I watched with Karen once," Xion admitted.
"Now, let's see if Sing can be echoed back at her," Sora said.
As Jigglypuff sang her song, Angel was getting sleepy. She did her best to stay awake as long as she could. The music notes bounces back, and then Jigglypuff then started to feel sleepy from her own Sing being used against her.
"It's working. Jigglypuff's getting sleepy," Roxas said.
"Chu," Xipak said.
Jigglypuff yawned while still singing, but fell asleep. Angel smiled as she also fell asleep due to Jigglypuff's Sing.
"It worked!" Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, and Elaine exclaimed as the couples were in each other's arms as Chase and Elaine hi-five each other.
"Sound asleep!" Mitch cheered.
Everyone got inside and Kairi approached the sleeping Eevee.
"Wake up, Angel," Kairi said. Angel woke up and looked directly at Kairi. "The plan is a total success. Good job."
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Now's your chance to catch Jigglypuff, Mitch," Sora said.
"Right," Mitch said. He took out a Pokéball and prepared to catch her. "I hope you're ready for this." As Jigglypuff slept soundly, Mitch looked at the sleeping Balloon Pokémon and he began to have second thoughts about catching Jigglypuff. She looked so cute sleeping, he didn't have it in his heart to catch Jigglypuff at all.
"What's the matter, Mitch?" Elaine asked.
"What's wrong?" Roxas asked.
"I just can't do it," Mitch said, confusing the group.
"But, what about your daughter, Mitch?" Chase asked.
"Yeah, you went through all the trouble to find a Jigglypuff for her birthday," Sora said.
"Her birthday is important to me. But looking at Jigglypuff, I think I learned something even more important. She belongs here, roaming around in this forest. And all these months of hunting her endlessly, I just realized she's always happy when I'm chasing her, so I'm going to head home and I'm going to leave her behind," Mitch said.
"But we worked so hard to capture her," Xion said.
"And your plan was brilliant, Xion. I know it must have been especially disappointing to you, huh?" Mitch asked.
"No. I'm okay," Xion said.
"We all are," Roxas said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"It's your call, Mitch," Sora said.
"We just wanted to help out however we can," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"And we did that," Chase said.
"Vee," Maple said.
"Chu," Volt said.
"That's right. But what are you going to get Lisa for her birthday present?" Elaine asked.
"She'll have to realize you don't always get what you want. Besides, I still have my Loudred to play with her. Loudred loves Lisa just as much as I do," Mitch said.
"Loudred," Loudred said, smiling.
"Well, Jigglypuff, I guess our time together has come to an end," Mitch said. Jigglypuff still slept soundly.
Meanwhile, Harley and Cacturne woke up and they saw the doodles on each other's faces. A lot of people laughed at the doodles on their faces.
"What was that about?! All I did was fall asleep!" Harley exclaimed.
"Cacturne," Cacturne said.
"At least those two wannabes May and Kairi aren't here to see my misfortune, otherwise I'd would die from total embarrassment. I will never hear the end of it," Harley said.
Back at the cabin, night has fallen. Jigglypuff has woken up and saw a plate of Pokémon food and saw Mitch gone. Jigglypuff felt sad.
On the next morning in the nearest town, Mitch takes his guests with him to his house as his wife is watering the plants.
"Honey, I'm home," Mitch announced. His wife saw her husband and smiled. She saw he brought some guests with him.
"Mitch, it's so good to see you!" Mitch's wife said. Lisia ran up to her father.
"Daddy, daddy, you're home!" Lisa happily exclaimed. Mitch bends down to Lisa's level.
"Hey, there's my girl. Happy birthday, sweetheart," Mitch said.
"Thank you, daddy. I was worried you weren't going to be home in time," Lisa said. She looked around for Jigglypuff. "Where's Jigglypuff?"
"Well, it's not here," Mitch said.
"Why?" Lisa asked.
"I'm sorry, but I couldn't get you a Jigglypuff," Mitch said. Lisa sighed in disappointment.
"You promised me," Lisa said.
"I really tried. But it turned out to be harder than I expected," Mitch said.
"It was hard even with us helping your daddy out," Sora said.
"Your dad did everything right and he came really close," Roxas said.
"He had that Jigglypuff right where he wanted her," Kairi said.
"But then, she just got away," Chase said.
"I'm sorry," Mitch apologized to his daughter.
"That's okay," Lisa said, getting over her disappointment.
"Yeah?" Mitch asked.
"Sure. The only thing that really matters is you came home in time for my birthday party. Besides, I still have Loudred to play with, and I can bet he missed all the games we used to play before you left," Lisa said.
"Loudred," Loudred said, smiling.
"You're the best dad ever," Lisa said. Mitch was moved by his daughter's words and started to cry happily.
"You're my girl," Mitch said. He hugged her. "Thank you."
"Stop! Your beard tickles, daddy! Stop!" Lisa said, laughing.
"Jiggly!" A familiar voice shouted.
"Huh?" Everyone asked. It turns out to be Jigglypuff, floating up in the sky.
"Jiggly!" Jigglypuff said.
"What is that?" Mitch's wife asked.
"Is that what I think it is?" Chase asked.
"It is! It's Jigglypuff!" Sora said.
"Ah! Jigglypuff!" Lisa happily exclaimed. Jigglypuff and angrily stomped over to Mitch.
"She looks unhappy," Roxas said.
"But what could Jigglypuff be so mad about?" Xion asked.
"But why did she come all the way out here?" Elaine asked.
"I think I get it. I think Jigglypuff is mad at Mitch for leaving the way he did. She liked having Mitch chase her around the woods, so she didn't want the chase to end," Kairi said.
"Well, she did have fun toying with us," Chase said.
"But that can't be right. Can it?" Mitch asked. Jigglypuff nodded. Lisa laughed.
"Wow! You really did catch me a Jigglypuff after all!" Lisa said.
"But... I never..." Mitch paused between words.
"It's so cute!" Lisa said, hugging the Balloon Pokémon. "Isn't it cute?" She laughed.
"Yes, it sure is," Mitch's wife agreed, smiling.
"Well, tell me something, little Jigglypuff. Would you like to stay here with me and my family? As you see, my daughter loves you and you'll be well-taken care of," Mitch said. Jigglypuff smiled, liking the idea very much. She got to toy with Mitch whenever she wanted. She accepted.
"Alright! We caught a Jigglypuff!" Lisa said.
"Here's what Chase and I learned from this whole experience. We learned that there's more than one way to catch a Pokémon," Elaine said.
"And that's a lesson well-learned," Kairi said.
"She's right. They caught each other," Roxas said.
"It wasn't all for nothing after all," Sora said.
"It sure wasn't. I can't thank you six enough. If you hadn't when you did, I'd still be out in the woods," Mitch said. Lisa laughs as she lifts her new Jigglypuff in the air as Loudred danced happily.
"Sounds like you got yourself another playmate, Lisa," Xion said.
"Yeah! Let's sing together, Jigglypuff!" Lisa said.
"NO!" Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Chase, Elaine, and Mitch all shouted. Once Jigglypuff started singing, there was no stopping her.
While helping out a father in need, they learned when faced in a tough situation, the hard way isn't always the best way. Now, it's back to the Pokémon Stadium Cup, after a good sleep. YAWN. Nighty night.
