A Spectacular Date
Upon returning home, Danny was on cloud 9. He had a smile so big that it seemed almost unbelievable. He practically skipped up the stairs upon getting home, something his parents noticed.
"I haven't seen him this happy after a date since that Marinette girl." Maddie whispered with a very happy look in her eyes.
"I know… word is this girl kissed him at the Nasty Burger. Our boy's inherited Fenton charm like no other…" Jack said proudly.
"You had only one other girlfriend before me, Jack… and she apparently wasn't that nice." Maddie pointed out.
"Don't rub it in…" Jack grumbled.
Danny went to his room and happily went to give Bloom her score.
He was so enamored that he just gave her a 10. If he had a moment to think, he'd recall her situation with this Sky person, but he didn't care at the moment. He was still under Cupid's arrow.
He then noticed he was getting a call from Tucker.
"Hello?" Danny asks.
"DUDE! IS IT TRUE?!" Tucker asks.
"... Iron Man's armor isn't iron. Superman's red tights aren't a problem because of how it balances color in his suit. Dash is a total moron. Can you be more specific?" Danny asks flatly.
"I mean that some gorgeous girl kissed you at the Nasty Burger!" Tucker went.
"Yup. Her name's Bloom and she's… wow…" Danny went, his lips still tingling from hers.
"Nice!" Tucker went.
"How about you?" Danny asks.
"Her name is Tecna. All things considered, she was a nice girl. I'd say… 8 since we bonded over tech." Tucker said.
"Cool." Danny responded.
"Well, I'm gonna check my next date. Laters, remember to RSVP me for your and Bloom's wedding!" Tucker went cheerfully before hanging up.
"Heheh… our wedding. Yeah…" Danny said, letting his mind wander.
Bloom was wonderful and incredibly attractive. The fact that he'd have a rival in this Sky, who he never met, only now crossed his mind. However, he was adamant that if he chose Bloom and she chose him, then that means Sky had his chance.
So, with that, he nodded and figured that even if that didn't work, someone else would want to date him. And now, he had a new date to meet.
User Name: Cheering Liz
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 105 lb
Home Town: Manhattan, New York
Physical Description: Slender, Hispanic, long brown hair
Personality: I've made a few mistakes in my life, but I strive to do better
Likes and Interests: Cheerleading, a quiet date, someone being respectful to me
Type of person I wish to date: A good guy who won't turn his back on me
"Huh… this girl sounds like she's been through stuff?" He asks himself before seeing the time and deciding to turn in early as he'd have to go to New York again.
There was a knock at the door.
"It's open!" NeoMark said.
In came a familiar face.
"Finally! The Marvel character!" 61394 said.
"Given the title…I'm partially confused." BCF said.
"You chose a Spider-Man character, huh? I have a hunch I know who it is." FP11 said.
"So, after the disappointment of seeing your character replaced with an SNK fighting game character, you're still here?" Deadpool asks.
"First off, I wasn't disappointed and I think Kula's a nice girl. Second, this isn't a competition and I finished Danny and Kitty so you can't mock me for that anymore." 61394 said before smelling something that made his stomach rumble. "Also, you had donuts and meat burritos without me?!"
"Well… considering I got no chimichangas…" Deadpool said with an angry look in his eyes.
"Still not letting that go, huh? Would saying sorry help?" 61394 offered.
"... no." Deadpool responded.
61394 only shrugged at that.
"So… who's next?" 61394.
"I kind of have an idea." Deadpool said.
"The title gave that away." BCF said with an eye roll.
"Like I said, I have a hunch I know who it is." FP11 said.
"Let's see this.. .Spectacular date will go." NeoMark said.
"AH! I know that show. Yeah. I love all of Greg Weisman's shows, and I-" 61394 started,
"AHEM!" NeoMark went, getting his attention. "I said… let's see how this will go… that means no more talking and let's go for it!"
"Boy… someone's cranky. Did you steal his wallet again?" 61394 asks.
"No, he's just been really looking forward to booting Marvel's messily made shared cartoon universe in favor of this series." Deadpool responded.
"GUYS!" NeoMark went loudly.
"Sorry…" Both of them went.
"I have never seen him this eager to start a date…" FP11 said.
"Me neither. It must be a series he enjoys. I mean, I'm a fan of the series too, so-" BCF started but was cut off.
"GUYS!" NeoMark went impatiently, getting everyone in the room to quiet down. "Thank you…"
11 AM Eastern Time
Danny flew as fast as he could to where he was meeting this Cheering Liz. It was outside a school known as Midtown High.
As he flew, he passed by the pizza spot he had his date with April. He smiled at recalling that night.
"Mutant turtles, ninja clans, pizza… what a night that was." He said wistfully to himself as he saw where he was going.
Finding a spot to morph, Danny stood outside Midtown High. He had both his heart sticker and flowers in his hands.
Fingers crossed. He thought as he glanced at his watch.
A few moments later, someone called his attention.
"Excuse me, you wouldn't happen to be D-Fenton, would you?" A girl's voice was heard.
Danny turned around and saw a pretty Hispanic girl around his age, with long brown hair and brown eyes. She wore beige pants, a pink shirt with a brown button-up on top, and black shoes. She also looked somewhat tired and depressed.
Wow, it's like Paulina with less make-up… He thought while smiling.
"I am, you must be Cheering Liz..." Danny said.
"Liz Allen, but just Liz is fine..." Liz said.
"It's nice to meet you Liz. My name is Danny. These are for you..." Danny said as he offered her flowers.
Liz brightened up a bit when she saw them.
"Wow, they're pretty. Thanks..." She said, though her smile was only small.
"So...uh...you ready?" Danny asked.
Liz nodded.
"Yeah... " She said quietly.
With that, the blind date began.
"Liz Allen from the… Spectacular! Spectacular! Spider-Man!" NeoMark started to sing happily, much to everyone's surprise as he was standing with one foot on the chair.
"I'm sorry, what?" BCFW took off his glasses to clean them. Putting them back on, he gave a curious stare at the display.
"Sorry, but I really love that theme song." NeoMark said without a hint of shame
"It is a catchy song." 61394 said. "Spectacular blows it out of the water. It, along with Young Justice and Weisman's magnum opus, Gargoyles, are all amazing, though there's usually problems in the third season."
"Spectacular didn't have a third season." Deadpool said
"I consider that a problem." 61394 said
"He wasn't even involved with Gargoyles' third season." Deadpool reminded him.
"I knew it was Liz..." FP11 said.
"Okay, I know what a lot of people are going to say." NeoMark said.
"Let me voice it for them. Uh-uh-uh! You said these were going to be all NEW girls and Flower Princess11 used Black Cat, a Spider-Man character!" Deadpool went, pretending to be a chiding parent.
"Yes… she did… the one from the 2017 animated series. And, no disrespect to people who like that series… even though that's a pretty small list considering how it was pretty average even when it aired, but yeah. I'm not counting that. She was also used when the show had started its second season where she made her second, and final, appearance. She was used too soon before we could see where she'd go… and she was more than likely not a teenager. And before someone asks "Well why don't you use Ultimate Spider-Man?". Ultimate Spider-Man sucks, that's why. Ignoring any connections with Drake Bell, the only way that'd be okay is if we can kill off Nova in painful and humiliating ways like Kenny from South Park."
"Yeah, you [redacted]ing hated Nova." Deadpool said.
"Ultimate's bad." 61394 said.
"Besides, if you guys know anything about Spider-Man cartoons where he's a teenager, then you already know that there is a WAY better series to take characters from." NeoMark said.
"So, we can't use Felicia from this series to be the reason the site crashed?" FP11 asks.
"No, because… 1) She's 19 in this series, as confirmed by Greg Weisman, and 2) As you might have guessed from the last chapter, the guys at Casper High and the Trix are interested. We'll also see who else are interested next time." NeoMark said before clearing his throat. "Thoughts on Liz?"
"I will admit I had hoped for my version of Felicia, who is supposed to be 16, but luckily, I also liked this version of Liz too." FP11 said.
"Even though you just guessed her age and she was likely older." Deadpool pointed out.
"I…I'm…I'm just gonna be quiet on this and watch…" BCFW was uncharacteristically quiet, taping a finger against the side of his head.
"Liz from Spectacular. Not too surprised by the show, surprised by the girl." 61394 commented. "Help the world if he picks her, because Danny's not going to get along with Petey."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Deadpool asked
"Oh, come on, you know exactly what I mean." 61394 answered "Peter was a terrible boyfriend to Liz. I'm not talking about the times where he had to go save the city, I'm talking about the times when he was obviously more interested in Gwen than he was with Liz. The Valentine's Day group being the biggest example where Peter spent most of the time staring at Gwen instead of talking to his girlfriend."
"Mmmm-hmmm…" BCFW hummed..
"Well, she did kind of interfere with his attempts to talk to Gwen." Deadpool pointed out.
"He could have said no. Or let her down gently." 61394 pointed out.
"Never mind that.." NeoMark said, wanting to get back to the story.
"Yeah, back to the date. This ought to be a good one." 61394 said
"Well, let's see if this date is truly… Spectacular." FP11 said with a graceful smile. "Huh? Like that?"
"Yup." NeoMark said, giving her a high-five.
With Danny and Liz
45 minutes had passed since the date began, Liz had gotten her and Danny a cab so he could see New York. He had mentioned he's had a date before here, but he never saw it during the day. It's certainly different now that it's light out.
"And that over there is the Daily Bugle." Liz said, pointing at the building.
"Huh, yeah. I heard of that place." Danny said with some excitement as he turned his head to look at Liz.
He noticed now how hesitant and down Liz seemed to be upon naming that building.
Her tune seemed to have gone down a peg or two after mentioning that place. He thought.
"You okay?" He asked, making her flinch.
"Huh...oh...yeah...I'm fine..." She said in a not so convincing tone.
"Uh… okay." Danny said, not wanting to upset her.
Danny scratched his chin in thought, wondering what to do for fun with her.
Liz, out of nowhere, cleared her through.
"So, Danny? Ever been to Coney Island?" She asked.
"Uh… no?" Danny went.
"Then I know a great place to have some fun." Liz said quickly.
Danny raised an eyebrow, wondering what made her say that out loud.
All the while, Liz was looking out at the window where she knew Coney Island was in the direction of, almost like she was hoping going there with Danny was going to do something.
"Hey, just a thought." Deadpool said.
"What's on your mind?" 61394 asks.
"No. I realized that this is a world that has the Turtles, King of Fighters and Street Fighter." Deadpool said.
"And?" FP11 asks.
"And what?" Deadpool asks.
"And… What do you want me to say? I don't know enough about Street…" FP11 sees NeoMark ready to correct her. "Fighter." She emphasized to make sure she got it right. "... or King of Fighters to get what you mean." She explained.
"Well, here's a question. Anyone know what Tatsunoko is?" Deadpool asks.
"Is that another kind of game?" FP11 asked.
"Yeah, I've got no clue who that is." 61394 said.
"An animation company. I remember them from the crossover game they had with Capcom on the Wii." BCFW pointed out.
"So… any Tatsunoko characters appearing here?" Deadpool asks NeoMark.
"No. Sorry, I don't know Tatsunoko that well outside of Gatchaman and even then I'm more familiar with it as G-Force." NeoMark explained.
"That takes me back." BCFW chuckled. "Now, if only I could remember more than scant memories."
"Why ask that?" FP11 said.
"Because if this guy had also featured Darkstalkers characters…" Deadpool motioned to NeoMark, who gave him a gesture he can't share with the reader. "... then we could live out Marvel vs Capcom, Capcom vs SNK and even Tatsunoko vs Capcom with Danny as a guest fighter!" Deadpool said.
"Ok, not to sound rude, but why?" BCFW asked.
"Interesting, but why?" FP11 asked.
"It'd be neat. Or just make Danny a guest character in a potential new Darkstalkers." Deadpool answered.
"It'd be neat I guess but I doubt it'd happen." 61394 said before noticing something. "But, what about the Turtles?"
"Well, there's a comic crossover, no proper game yet. But I'm certain that reading this story that simply features characters from those franchises will cost less and be less scummy than TMNT costumes for Street Fighter 6." Deadpool said with a wink to the authors.
None of them reacted the way they did. FP11 was silent, BCFW simply shook his head disapprovingly, and 61394 didn't know what Deadpool was talking about. None of them found it funny nor did they seem to get what he meant.
NeoMark then used his phone to show them what he meant.
"Guess what was in the news last year when I started writing this story?" He asks as they read that.
All of them read it, all going "Ohh…" before the story resumed
On Coney Island
Danny walked with Liz, having seen the location for the first time.
"Cool." Danny commented.
"First time seeing it up close?" Liz asks with a smile.
"This place is amazing, Liz! I can't believe I haven't been here yet." Danny said with a smile.
"Just wait and see what's here." Liz said.
"I'd like to try the roller coaster. Any chance we can go there?" Danny asks.
"I'd like to go to one too, but let's start with something a little tamer first. I don't want to lose my lunch before lunchtime." Liz said before pulling Danny by the wrist to enjoy their time here.
One Hour
Danny had been taken along with Liz showing him what the island has to offer.
The first visit was the water gun challenge. There, Liz and Danny competed before Liz winning out in the end. She gets a prize of a stuffed pink hippo.
Their next visit was stopping to have some of the food the Island's vendors were famous for giving out. They had stopped for pizza, taking slices that they enjoyed. It wasn't enough, so they stopped for hot dogs. Then, after that, they grabbed some cotton candy. After that, Liz insisted they wait at least 30 minutes before going on rides.
They finally went on the roller coaster, finding themselves enjoying their time.
And during the entire time, they had gotten to know each other better.
"So, you're from that town that's haunted?" Liz asks.
"Same one. But shockingly, being chased by ghosts isn't this heart-stopping." Danny said, gesturing to the ride they were on.
"I'm glad you're having fun, Danny. Coney Island is one of my favorite places to go to." Liz said.
Danny noticed her expression seemed different, almost calmer than when they started.
"You sure look like you're having fun." He said.
"You know what, Danny? I'm actually feeling pretty relaxed right now. This was something I needed." Liz said after a relaxed sigh.
"Glad I could be your chill pill, Liz." Danny said.
"Thanks. It's been… hard after my brother-" Liz stopped in her tracks, covering her mouth.
"Your brother… what?" Danny asks.
"Uh… nothing." Liz said quickly with an awkward smile.
"I can tell it's not nothing. Wanna talk about it?" He offered.
"I… I don't know…" Liz said.
"I'm a great listener." Danny said.
With a mild shrug, Liz gave in.
"My brother ended up in jail again and, now that he's a legal adult, my parents are cutting him off and refusing to pay bail." Liz said.
Danny's eyes widened.
"Wait… seriously?"
"Yes. Mark was… a nice brother… but he had a gambling addiction… one that landed him in a lot of trouble that… let's just say isn't making things cool for him." Liz said, almost like choosing her words carefully.
"Oh… I'm… sorry to hear that." Danny said.
"It's not just that. You see, months ago...I broke up with my boyfriend Petey..." Liz said, sounding sad.
"Oh dang, I'm sorry to hear that..." Danny said, sympathetic as he knows at least one other girl with an ex.
"Yeah, it's been kinda hard. My friend Sally tried to set me up with a bunch of guys but I always gave an excuse not to. And my other friend Glory found out about this service and insisted I give it a try. Something about meeting people I never met before seemed… like the better option..." She confessed.
Hearing that, Danny approached her and patted her lightly.
"Well… I'm sorry that you had to go through that. I wish I could help you with your brother, but...well...I'm just sorry." Danny said.
"It's fine… Mark won't listen no matter how much I ask him to quit gambling his life away." Liz said with a quiet, hurt sound in her voice as she shed a tear.
"That's… gotta be… hard to handle. Still, the fact that you have two friends who wanted to cheer you up… albeit getting you to date again isn't necessarily the only way to do it, means you still have people who care about you and want you to not let what happened get to you." Danny said.
Hearing that brought a smile to Liz's face.
"Thanks…" She responded.
"So.. correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't she from a show called the Spectacular Spider-Man?" Deadpool asks.
"Yeah?" NeoMark responded.
"So… where's Spider-Man?" Deadpool asks.
"My guess, he is probably on a date too." FP11 said.
"Either with Gwen, Mary Jane, or Felicia. Granted that last one might be pushing things since the second season had things turn downward between the cat and spider." BCF said.
"Can we hurry up? I want to see how Danny and Peter interact and stuff." Deadpool said impatiently.
"W-"
"Wait and see?" They all asked in unison.
"Right…" NeoMark said with an eye roll.
With Danny and Liz
As their date continued and Liz began to cheer up, Danny couldn't help but admire her.
"A pretty, Hispanic cheerleader who isn't a total snob and doesn't seem to be obsessed with a local hero. She really is the Anti-Paulina..." He said under his breath with a smile.
"Who's Paulina?" Liz asked.
"Huh?" Danny asked.
"I overheard you mumbling just now, like you thought that I can't hear you..." Liz said.
"Did I really say that so clearly for you to hear?" Danny asks as Liz nodded, causing him to feel embarrassed. "I am such a dork."
Him saying that caused Liz to have a playful laugh.
"I don't think that's a bad thing. So… who is that?" She asks again.
"Paulina is a girl from my school and you kinda remind me a little of her, but you're way different." Danny said.
"What do you mean?" Liz asked, confused by his words.
"Like you, she's a Hispanic cheerleader, popular and pretty too. But unlike you, she is really spoiled, mean and snobby. I stopped crushing on her a long time ago..." Danny said.
"That sounds like what I used to be before… I changed." Liz said. "How am I different though?"
"For one thing, you are way nicer than her. And, not to be forward but, you are way prettier too..." Danny said.
Liz blushed a little at that.
"Thanks..." She said, somewhat flattered.
As Danny and Liz were about to keep going, they ended up being seen by someone.
"Liz?" The brunette boy asked.
"Petey- I mean...Peter?" Liz asked with a gasp.
Danny blinked as he looked at who this was. He saw a fairly average looking boy with brown hair, fair skin and brown eyes, as well as a visible mole on his cheek. He was also dressed in a simple fashion.
"You two know each other?" He asked.
Peter was about to say something but Liz beat him to it.
"He's the ex I mentioned." Liz said, sounding a little hostile.
Danny blinked when he saw the mood change in her. Peter looked awkward now as he took steps back.
"Right… I was… here on a job for Mr. Jameson. So… later." Peter said before heading off.
Once Peter left, Danny turned to Liz..
"So… that was "Petey", right?" Danny asks.
"That's him..." Liz said, looking sad now with a nod.
"Liz?" Danny asked in concern.
"I'm sorry if that was weird but I didn't expect him to be here..." Liz said, looking at the ground.
"It's okay...we all have ex issues. I've been there too…" Danny said, briefly recalling Valerie.
"I remember we had fun here once… before we started dating too. It was when I broke up with my last boyfriend before him." Liz said with a pained look on her face.
Danny saw her expression and felt a little sorry for her.
He could tell that she was still hurting, even if she didn't want to admit it.
Seeing that her ex was here, he knew what he had to do.
"Hey Liz, if you're up for it...we could do something else if you're not in the mood for Coney Island anymore?" Danny suggested, surprising her
"What? But we're already here and you already paid our tickets…" Liz pointed out.
"Yeah, but if being around him makes you uncomfortable, we can go. That is, if you want to?" Danny offered.
Liz blinked, surprised by this but smiled and nodded, appreciating the gesture.
"Thank you..." She said.
Before they could go, a strange buzzing sound caught their attention.
"What?" Danny stopped. "Do you hear that?" He asks Liz, who nodded.
It was then they noticed the cause of said buzzing. It was the sound of nearby lights at one of the stands that were glowing brighter than should be.
"It's 1:30 in the afternoon. Those lights should not be using that much power…" Liz commented.
Suddenly, almost all of the sudden, all of the light bulbs exploded, causing passersby to stop and gasp in surprise.
"Wow..." Danny went, eyes widening.
"What was that about?" Liz asks before she takes notice of the line for one lessened ride. "Look, the Ferris Wheel is gonna have some room for us. We should at least go once before we go." She insisted.
"Sure." Danny said as he followed her.
As they went, the two didn't see the man on the other side of the stand, pressing his exposed hand on cables on the side that led to the lights blowing up. A man with a hoodie, wearing some kind of mask as his glowing hand emitted yellow electricity.
"Make fun of my outfit, will ya?" He asked under his breath before going on his way. "Now, for what the doc asked for."
"Electro." Deadpool said knowingly.
"Way to give it away." NeoMark said.
"No offense, Neo, but it was pretty obvious. Not only did you mention electricity, but also with that attitude of his." FP11 said.
"See, she gets it." Deadpool said.
On the Ferris Wheel
The carriage that had Danny and Liz reached the top, giving them a view of the island and the ocean.
"What do you think?" Liz asks.
"Neat." Danny said.
"Glad you like it. I guess you haven't had the chance to see this place during your stay, huh?" Liz asks with a smile..
Danny paused at her words.
"My… stay?" Danny asks.
"Yeah, here in New York. It's not like you flew all the way from your town just to go out, right?" Liz asks with a playful smile.
"Oh… eheh… right." Danny went with a nervous smile.
Wow… even she gets the ridiculousness of it all. And she has no idea. He thought.
"Y'know… this is where Petey and I hung out the night my boyfriend at the time, Flash, broke up with me." Liz said as she looked out the window.
"Flash?" Danny asks.
"Flash Thompson." Liz said.
Danny stared at the back of her head as it felt like glass broke from how much an impact it was when the name hit him.
Flash Thompson? Dash Baxter? And I meet another Latina cheerleader? Don't tell me… do they have a Lancer stand-in? He thought.
"It broke my heart… but I kind of was drifting away from Dash at the time. I didn't want to just be the girl dating the big football quarterback anymore." Liz said.
Quarterback too?! Danny thought, surprised by all the similarities he was seeing.
"But still…" Liz looked back at Danny with a smile. "I've had fun today."
Danny smiled at her, pushing his being perplexed by the similarities out of his head.
"I had fun too." Danny said as he looked out the window on his side. "After this, do you still want to go?" He asks.
"Hmm… Nah. I'm letting Petey get in the way. He clearly doesn't mean any harm or anything. Plus, things haven't been so great for him, or Gwen, the girl he was gonna leave me for. So, I guess we can let bygones be bygones." Liz said.
As Danny wanted to say something, something else caught his attention.
"What's that?" He asks.
"Y'know, I don't recall where the saying came from. But, I think it means to-"
"No, what's that? Is that a street performer?" Danny asks, pointing outside the window.
Liz got closer to see what he was looking at, her eyes widening.
"Oh no…" She uttered in horror.
On the ground
Someone had stolen something from the nearby location known as Tri Corp, someone with the power to cause a blackout in the building, including the room the stolen object was in. That someone decided to take his mask off and reveal who he was.
"That's right, New York! Electro's out! Shocking, ain't it?!" He called out as electricity started to shoot out his head.
To avoid being shocked, people stepped out of his way. Some were even pushing others out of the way to escape.
However, someone stopped him as something hit his boot, causing him to trip. As Electro fell, dropping what he stole, he looked to see what caught him was webbing. He realized this meant one thing.
"Seriously?! Ock can't come himself so he sends an errand boy?" Someone quipped from atop one of the stands.
Someone in a red and blue suit with webbing under the armpits. Someone Danny knew of.
"Wait… isn't that…?"
"Ladies and gentleman! It is I! The Spectacular Spider-Man!" Spider-Man said, proudly introducing himself to everyone with a bow.
"GAAAAHHHH! HE'S HERE! HE'S FINALLY HERE! THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN!" NeoMark went in a childish glee, only to notice all eyes on him, causing his smile to slowly drop. "Heh… sorry…" He went, almost shrinking in his chair.
"It's okay." 61394 said.
"I get you're excited, but I think hearing it got another season would be the more appropriate reaction." BCFW said.
"Don't remind me… and don't ruin my mood! YES! THE LEAD OF THE LAST GOOD SPIDER-MAN CARTOON IS HERE!" NeoMark went
"Someone's a little excited." FP11 said with a small smile before something dawned on her. "Wait. You never acted like this when the Spider-Man I used showed up." She pointed out.
"That's because you u-"
"I know… I know…" FP11 went with an eye roll and a tired voice. "I used the version of him from what you continuously call a lackluster adaptation. I've heard this song and dance so many times, I memorized the lyrics faster than the show's actual theme song."
"It is a catchy theme song. I can play it for you, if you'd like." Deadpool said. "Livin' on the edge… Fighting crime, spinning webs…"
"Eh… maybe another time. So… let's see if the Spectacul-"
"GAAHHHH!" NeoMark went, once again with childish glee.
"I'm going to just pretend he's not fangirling…" FP11 said before clearing her throat. "Let's see if… this Spidey… works well with Danny."
"Is he supposed to?" BCFW said.
"I bet Petey gets nervous when he sees Liz is dating this guy." 61394 said.
Electro stood back up, holding the box containing what he stole under his armpit.
"Doc wants this Megalopack ASAP, webslinger! So crawl up a wall!" Electro shouted, shooting lightning in his direction.
Spider responded by letting himself fall backwards before rolling to break the impact and land on his feet to avoid being shocked.
"Ooh! Sorry, Max!" Spidey went.
"DON'T CALL ME MAX!" Electro shouted in rage.
Electro's electricity from his head grew more intense as fired more electricity from his hand, causing Spidey to swing on a web to avoid another shot.
Meanwhile, on the Ferris Wheel
Seeing this unfold, a panicking Liz pulled away.
"We have to get out of here!" She said.
"Uh… one problem." Danny said, pointing down.
Liz gathered her courage to see, to her horror, the man operating the ride has run away.
"What's he doing?! We're still here!" She said.
"We're the only ones here." Danny pointed out.
Liz took another look, Indeed, their cabin was the only one with them inside, and at the very top.
"Oh no…" Liz said in a gasp.
Spider-Man, meanwhile, was jumping to avoid shots of electricity from Electro.
"Why not put that back and we can take a nice trip back to being locked up in the Vault?" Spidey asks playfully.
Electro gritted his teeth as he fired once more.
"STAND STILL!" Electro snarled loudly.
Spidey managed to jump out of the way, not seeing the electricity reaching the ferris wheel. This caused the machine to stop working.
"Oh no!" Liz went, getting Spidey's attention.
"Liz?" He asks, only to be hit by Electro.
"Gotcha!" Electro went.
Liz kept her feet off the floor, getting into a fetal position in the seat to avoid touching any metal. Thankfully, the electricity didn't spread, but it didn't make her feel calmer. She covered her face in fear.
Danny, seeing her like this and the trouble outside, knew he had to do something.
While her eyes were closed, Danny put a hand on her.
"Liz?" Danny went.
"Yes?" She asks.
"Don't worry, we'll be fine." He assured her.
While that seemed to calm her down, she did not lower her hands. Although he didn't want to, Danny decided to get Liz to safety the only way he knew how.
While she wasn't looking, he overshadowed her.
It took a moment, but Danny took in a breath.
"Sorry, Liz." He said in his own voice coming out of her mouth. "Now, to phase out, fly and-"
The sound of something landing atop the ferris wheel carriage. That's when Spider-Man peeked from the roof.
"Li- I mean, Ms. Allen? Are you okay?" He asks. Danny, in Liz's body, nodded. "Great. Take my hand." Spider-Man went, reaching in. "Hurry, before Electro spots us."
Danny did as instructed and took Spidey's hand. Spider-Man took Liz's body. He swung with her in his arms as Spidey looked back at where he just rescued "Liz".
I can't see his face, what's he looking at? Danny thought.
"Wasn't there another person in there with you?" He asks.
"Uh… uh-uh…" Danny as Liz went, keeping his voice somewhat high to mask it.
Spidey's eyes conveyed confusion, one was squinted while the other widened.
"Are you… wearing contacts?" He asks.
"Uh…" Danny, as Liz, said while looking away.
"Y'know what? Not important." Spider-Man said as he put Liz down. "Get going, I got a certain someone to unplug."
Once Spider-Man went, Danny saw that as a sign to get out as he left Liz's body, who collapsed onto the ground. He then put a hand on her shoulder.
"Liz?" He went.
"Huh… what?" Liz asks, getting up as she nursed her head.
"You passed out before Spider-Man got us to safety." Danny lied quickly.
"I did?" She asks as Danny nodded. "I've never passed out from shock before… shock as in surprise, not electricity." She quickly clarified.
"First time for everything? Anyway… we should go." Danny went, hoping to find some excuse to hide so he could go ghost.
"No, we can't. Petey will be hurt!" Liz insisted.
"How do you know he's even still here?" Danny asks.
"He works for the Daily Bugle! He's the guy who takes photos of Spider-Man!" Liz went.
"Seriously? Gotta be easier ways to make money… okay, you go, I'll find him." Danny insisted. Liz was about to argue against it, but Danny held a hand up. "You're my date, my job is to make sure you're okay." Danny insisted.
Hearing that, Liz nodded before heading off.
Once she was gone, Danny ran to a corner and morphed.
With Spider-Man
The battle continued as Spidey used his athleticism to avoid shots of electricity.
"So, Electro? What's Ock up to with his latest Master Planner scheme?" Spidey asks.
"Just wait a see!" Electro went.
Electro fired blast after blast after Spider-Man, who flipped with ease to avoid the blast. Getting frustrated, Electro stomps his foot before waving his arm, sending electricity through the air and sending Spider-Man flying back and hitting the floor.
"Well, that's a new one." Spider-Man says, getting up before Electro blasts him in the chest hitting the ground.
"You're toast! I was gonna bring this to the doc, but frying you would be a bonus!" Electro said. Keeping him pinned with one hand while charging up his hand to fry the spider punk from inside out
Before he could fire, a blast of green energy knocked Electro down to the ground.
Spidey looked up, surprised to see this.
"What the heck?" Spidey questioned.
It was then that Danny Phantom appeared, hovering closer to get between Spider-Man and Electro.
"Hi, I'm Danny Phantom." Danny said quickly.
"Danny… Phantom?" Spider-Man asks.
"Another one?" Electro questioned.
"I don't know watt's going on, but as a superhero, I blow a fuse when someone breaks the law." Danny quipped, making electricity puns before flying in and throwing a punch.
He ended up hitting Electro with a punch charged by his ghost powers.
However, the electrical energy coming off Electro shocked Danny, pushing him away.
"Oh great, another pun making pest! What? Do you two both have the same book you get your quips from?" Electro questioned with a groan.
"No, but that isn't a bad idea. Thanks for the spark of inspiration." Danny said, making a third electricity pun
"I'd buy it." Spider-Man said, getting up and shooting a web, taking the box with the Megalopack that Electro stole.
"Give that back." Electro shouted, unleashing a wave of electricity.
Danny flying in front of Spider-Man, creating a shield that blocked the lightning.
"I gotcha." Danny said.
"Thanks." Spidey said before recalling something. "I heard of you, I thought your name was Inviso-bill?"
"I did not call myself that and I will never call myself that!" Danny said before recalling the fight. "So, he hates you and you've fought him before. How do I beat him?"
"We gotta short him out." Spider-Man explained. "You keep him busy, I gotta find a way to get him covered in water.
Danny nodded as his eyes began to glow blue.
"Can do." Danny said, charging up his ice energy in one hand.
"I don't know who you are, punk, but a friend of Spider-Man is an enemy of mine." Electro shouted, firing a bolt of electricity.
I really hope this works! Danny thought as he fired his icy beam, which collided with Electro's jolts.
The impact caused an explosion of mist that blocked each other's vision.
"Where are you?! Where?!" Electro shouted, his electricity brightening the area enough to make him easier to spot.
"Hey, Sparky!" Danny was heard calling out from behind, getting Electro's attention. "What's wrong? Can't hit what you can't see?!"
Seeing Danny's silhouette, Electro's hands started to spark with more intensity than before.
"I don't need another smart mouth giving me lip!" Electro shouted as he turned around and started running towards Danny.
"Phantom! This way!" Spidey was heard calling out in the same direction Electro was running towards.
"Aha! I get to fry both of you!" Electro shouted once he got out of the mist.
There, he saw Danny hovering 2 feet off the ground with his arms crossed.
"So, Max is your real name? Yeah, I'm not sure which sounds dorkier…" Danny snarked, angering Electro further.
"DON'T CALL ME MAX!" Electro shouted before shooting bolts of lightning out of his hand.
"Max! Relax!" Danny bobbed out of the way of one. "Get some snacks!" He dodged another one with ease. "Here's the facts!" He ducked from one before hovering in a position that looked like he was on a bed while using one hand to keep his head up. "Don't be a hack… s. Sorry, that last one was a little forced there, Max…" Danny went with an apologetic look and a so-so gesture with his hand.
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" Electro shouted, putting his hands together to fire a greater sized bolt of electricity.
Danny straightened up and used a ghost shield, only for the impact to push him back, forcing him to plant his feet.
"Okay… this one's tougher than I thought." He said under his breath.
"YOU THINK YOU CAN MESS WITH ME?! ELECTRO!" Electro shouted before laughing almost maniacally. "BAD IDEA TO GET ME WORKED UP!"
"I knew… phew!" Danny went, waving his hand in front of his face despite the strain of the shield. "You reek!"
Electro's grin left him as he raised an eyebrow.
"Huh?" His anger slowly lowered in place of confusion.
"Yo, Spidey! Don't you think he needs a bath?! I think I distracted him long enough!" Danny called out.
"What?!" Electro went.
"On it!" Spidey was heard calling out from behind him.
Electro wanted to turn around, but found his feet were webbed to the ground.
"What?!" Electro shouted in anger.
Spider-Man then appeared, holding the water tank used in the squirt gun game over his head. He then used a web to swing it overhead.
"Phantom!" Spidey called out.
"On it!" Danny went, firing a ghost ray once it was over Electro's head.
The blast broke it to pieces as the water inside began to fall on the person underneath.
"Oh no…" Electro muttered before it hit him.
A pained scream once the water hit, along with electricity shooting out wildly. Once that was done, Electro groaned as he had a hand on his head. He shook his head to clear his thoughts, only to see Spider-Man and Danny Phantom side by side, throwing punches in unison into his face.
The impact freed his feet from the webs, but Electro was now on the ground, unconscious.
Spidey shot webs at Electro's feet and hands to keep him from getting up in case he wakes up.
"Well, that was a fun experience." Spidey said.
"Yeah…" Danny went with a nod.
"So… what're you doing all the way out here?" Spidey questioned.
"Oh, I'm on a-" Danny then recalled Liz. "Uh… I gotta go."
Before Spidey could question him, Danny bolted. Sirens were heard from a distance.
Looks like the boys in blue are on their way… I should check up on Liz after I email my photos to the Bugle… Spider-Man thought.
5 minutes later
After Electro was taken care of, Danny had reunited with Liz.
"Not how I expected my date to turn out, supervillain and all..." Danny commented.
"Welcome to New York..." Liz said as they saw Electro being taken by the police and into a SWAT truck specially designed for him..
It was then Peter saw them and ran as fast as he could to speak with them.
"Liz, are you okay?" He asked out of concern.
Despite how things went between them, Liz saw his concern and appreciated it.
"I'm fine. I passed out earlier but Danny says that Spider-Man saved us." Liz said.
"Yeah, we are okay, thanks to Spider-Man pulling us out of the Ferris Wheel..." Danny lied.
He didn't notice Peter raise a brow at that and his tone went from relieved to suspicious.
"Really? Spider-Man?" He asked.
Danny nodded.
"Yep. Totally saved by Spider-Man..." Danny lied with a nervous smile. not seeing the suspicion growing in the other boy.
"I see..." Peter said before he reached his hand into his pocket, as if to get something.
"Danny here stayed behind to look for you, to get you to not risk yourself." Liz said.
"You did?" Peter asks.
"Yeah… didn't see you though." Danny said, recalling how he didn't notice Peter's presence at all.
"Well, glad to see you guys are okay.." Peter said as he pulled his hand out of his pocket and patted him on the back.
"Thanks..." Danny said.
Peter then walked away. Once he left, Liz looked at the time on her phone.
"It is getting late, and I promised my mom that I would be back by 4 to help with something..." Liz said.
"I'll walk you home, Liz..." Danny offered.
"Thank you." Liz said with a gracious smile.
The two then left, with Danny unaware Peter was glaring in his direction, not out of jealousy but suspicion.
"Okay… he wasn't in that thing. So, Danny? Who are you?" He asked under his breath.
Danny had arrived at the building where Liz's home was.
He took a moment to admire it, whistling at the same time.
"I bet taking the stairs when the elevator is out and you're late for school is a hassle." Danny commented.
"It was." Liz said with a smile, showing it's happened before.
"Well, I had a fun time… zappy supervillain notwithstanding..." Danny said.
"Likewise..." Liz said, smiling at him.
The pretty cheerleader kissed him on the cheek. Danny seemed surprised by this while Liz kept smiling at him.
"Uh… what was that for?" Danny went with a nervous smile as his face turned red.
"That's my way of saying thanks...for being cool about Petey...and being a good listener when I brought up my brother..." Liz explained.
Danny smiled at that.
"Anytime..." He said kindly.
Liz felt at peace with Danny. Despite being younger, he was a good listener and a sympathetic person towards her. He reminded her of Peter, in some ways, ways that she genuinely missed being involved with him.
"So, where are you off to?" Liz asks.
"Home." Danny said without thinking about it.
"Have a safe flight back home..." Liz said, assuming he would be taking a plane.
Danny flinched upon realizing what she said. However, he realized what she meant and tried to play it cool.
"Yeah. Thanks. Speaking of which, I'd better get going before I miss my plane..." Danny lied.
Liz chuckled as she waved to him, seeing him go.
After a moment, Liz's smile widened as she entered the building.
Neither she nor Danny noticed someone watching from the side of a nearby building, following Danny.
After seeing Liz enter and making sure she couldn't see him anymore, Danny quickly went into a nearby alley.
"After Bloom and Clawdeen, I needed another normal girl as my date for a change..." He said, unaware that someone was following him from above.
That someone was Spider-Man.
"Now let's see here. If he's going on a plane, why is he going in there?" Spidey asks as he got closer, now watching him from several feet above on the side of the building to Danny's left.
Thinking that no one was around to see him, Danny was ready.
"I'm going ghost..." He said as he morphed. Danny suddenly heard a gasp, causing him to turn around in a panic. "Who's there?! Show yourself!"
"Uh oh..." Spider-Man was heard, getting Danny's attention as he looked up.
"You?!" Danny exclaimed.
Spidey was heard groaning as his head drooped downward.
"Guess I gotta tell MJ I'm running late…" He quietly muttered to himself.
"Are you following me?!" Danny questioned with an edge in his voice
The spider themed hero just glared at him, like he was the one with the wrong.
"Tell me what you want with Liz!" He demanded.
"Liz?" Danny asked, confused by his words.
"I did some research on you after what happened with Electro. What do you want? Are you trying to possess her like ghosts do in horror movies?! Are you some kind of demon who wants to ruin her life? That why you're on a date with her today?" Spider-Man demanded answers.
"One, that's just a stereotype and I'm not a demon. And two, how do you even know Liz?! Or that I was on a date with her today?" Danny demanded answers to his own questions..
"I'm the one asking the questions here, Snow White!" Spider-Man said, shooting his webs at Danny.
In response, Danny morphed to phased through the webs and fly upward.
"Now then…" Danny tackled Spider-Man off the building and into the air. "How do you know Liz? And why were you following us?"
Spider-Man responded by shooting webs in his face, making Danny groan as he let go to pull it off.
"Shoulda seen that coming!" Spidey quipped as he swung on a web.
Danny, seeing him go, decided to follow.
"Really wish this was Ladybug swinging around. I so prefer a more attractive arthropod." Danny muttered as he sped up.
Danny fired a ghost ray, cutting the web in half and letting Spider-Man drop.
Spidey fired another line, zipping away and onto the side of a building.
"Nice try, Spooky!" Spidey called out.
Once Spider-Man crawled up the wall and onto the building's roof, Danny landed not far.
"The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout, down came the Phantom and knocked the spider out!" Danny went as he flew in and swung his fist.
Spider-Man pulled his arm back before swinging his own fist.
Both fists collided as the two were pushed back.
Surprised at how well Spider-Man is handling himself, Danny decided to go invisible.
"Wow… you could give Rhino a run for his money he helped steal." Spidery said.
"Let's see how well you do if you can't see me!" Danny said.
Spider-Man, to Danny's surprise, didn't bother to move or look panicked. Instead, he closed his eyes.
Spidey then bobbed to his right before grabbing something and doing a slamming motion, revealing he was grabbing Danny's leg as Danny turned visible upon impact with the roof.
"How's that?" Spidey asks with fists at hips, sounding pleased with himself.
"Not bad… how's this?!" Danny asks as he swung his arm in an upward way, releasing ice that formed into a wall that Spidey avoided just in time.
Surprised, Spider-Man tapped the ice.
"Frosty. This whole ghost thing doesn't work out, you can have an exciting career selling ice during the summer." He quipped.
"And you can have an exciting career as a punching bag!" Danny went as he got back up. "You're so talkative that it makes it easier to wanna punch you!"
Spider-Man effortlessly bobs his head out of the way. He then swung his leg, knocking Danny off his feet.
"No wonder ghosts float, you don't keep an eye on where you're standing." Spidey quipped.
"Yeah, well…" Danny phased through the roof, much to Spidey's surprise.
Spider-Man pulled back, wondering where Danny went before his spider-sense went off. He somersaulted out of the way as Danny phased up to try and attack him.
Spidey looked smug before his spider-sense went off again.
"Trouble? But Spooky's right in front o-" Spider-Man was then roundhouse kicked in the side by another Danny Phantom, one he was surprised to see once he regained his footing. "Another one?"
His spider-sense went off again as a third Danny phased through the roof, uppercutting him. His spider-sense went off again as Spidey turned around and fired his webs at a fourth Phantom, swinging him downward and into the third, causing both to hit the roof and disappear.
The two remaining Phantoms, seeing Spidey land without harm, tried to double team him, but Spidey managed to duck before their fists could land, webbing both Phantoms by their feet and pulling to make them fall.
The last copy Phantom disappeared as the remaining Phantom phased out of the webs.
"Come on, Spooky! People are scared of ghosts, people are scared of spiders, can't we just talk nice and calmly about how mistaken people's phobias of us are?" Spidey quipped.
"Better idea, let's see if spiders can regrow limbs, even the four-legged kind!" Danny said with his eyes glowing green as he got up and fired, only for Spidey to somersault out of the way.
"Oh, you sweet-talker you!" Spidey went before his knee met with Danny's shoulder, knocking him down.
Danny got up, holding onto his shoulder.
"Okay… you're a lot tougher than I thought. Clearly, I need a bigger roll of newspaper." Danny snarked in annoyance.
"Never thought I'd find a worthy opponent in quippage." Spidey said in a bit of sincerity.
"Okay, but serious now. Why were you following us?" Danny questioned.
"Because you clearly were not in the Ferris Wheel when I saved her." Spidey said.
"And following us?" Danny asks.
"Spider-trackers I made. I can also use them to hear your conversations." Spidey said.
"How would you know I was there? And how'd you get it on me? The only other person we ran into on our date who I told that to was Liz's ex and-..." Danny stopped as it dawned on him. "Wait a minute…"
Danny took a step back.
Spidey tensed up, feeling something was wrong.
Takes photos for Spider-Man, wasn't seen during the fight, the only person I said that to… He thought.
"Is that… is that you, Peter?" Danny asks hesitantly.
Spidey's eyes widened as he stepped back.
"Uh… huh?" Spider-Man went, playing dumb. "You mean the guy who takes my photos?"
"It's you, isn't it?" Danny questioned.
"Uh… no! Dude, don't break superhero code here!" Spidey went, making him sound more like Danny's accusations were correct.
"You have two options here, buddy. Either you tell me who you are willingly and explain how you know about Liz...or I overshadow your body and find out the hard way!" Danny threatened.
"You can try!" Spider-Man said.
Danny turns invisible and attempts to overshadow him, only for Spidey's spider-sense to go off and jump out of the way. Danny turned visible again and looked puzzled.
"How'd you-"
"My spider-sense just tingled. I can pick up danger." Spider-Man said.
Danny looked at a loss, thinking he wouldn't be able to overshadow him until he recalled momentarily catching him off guard.
"But you can still get tired. You can slip up like earlier." Danny said.
"And you think you can get me to slip up?" Spidey laughs while saying this question.
"I do. Now I ask again...tell me who you are or I will overshadow you again and then I will personally remove that mask in front of everyone in New York!" Danny threatened.
It was seconds of silence before Spider-Man looked down.
He's getting too wise to who I could be… I don't want to risk it but… he's not exactly someone I know and has his own secrets.
"If I show you, can you at least swear not to tell anyone?" Spider-Man asked.
"I won't tell anyone about your identity as long as you keep quiet about mine..." Danny said seriously.
Spider-Man sighed as he reluctantly removed his mask.
"Ta-da." Peter went with a weak smile.
"Peter...so it is you..." Danny said.
"Oh dang! He found out! Honestly, that's sort of expected with this franchise." 61394 said.
"First meeting and they trade secret identities..." BCFW's poker face made it harder to tell his tone.
"So, what's going to happen? Are they gonna threaten to expose each other? I'd hate to see them end things on bad terms but is that what's gonna happen?" FP11 asks.
"I doubt that, but how is Danny going to react to the guy who dumped his date being the same guy who he just had an awesome team up with?" 61394 asks.
"Isn't this too soon? The reveal secret identity thing?" BCFW asked.
"You really wanna know?" NeoMark asks.
All of them nodded before Deadpool cleared his throat.
"Okay, think about it. This is being written by a guy who chose to go all Anti-Monitor on Disney's Marvel Animated Universe in favor of a cartoon he has far more attachment to AND he fangirled over The Spectacular Spider-Man and when that version of Spidey showed up. He's made it clear he considers that the last good Spider-Man cartoon and had the character do well against Danny, avoiding overshadowing and adapting to fighting him. Do you really think he's gonna have his favorite animated version of his favorite superhero and a cartoon character he obsesses over not become friends?" Deadpool questioned.
All three of them blinked as they looked at NeoMark, who shrugged sheepishly.
"Guilty…"
15 minutes later
Danny Phantom sat atop a building with a slice of pizza in his right hand. To his left was a maskless Spider-Man, who had a slice in his own right hand. They had a pizza between them, away from the edge of the building.
"So… your arch-enemy is your dad's billionaire best friend?" Peter asks.
"Yup. And yours was your best friend's billionaire dad. And you think he's still alive?" Danny asks.
"No body was found." Peter explained. "Part of me hopes he's alive just so Harry can see and stop hating half of me, the other part hopes he's burnt up into dust. But, scientifically speaking, I doubt the last part."
"So, if he's out there, he might cause you trouble. Guess it helps to have friends, right?" Danny asks.
"I guess it does. Sorry, it's just that… good things don't happen to people who find out I'm Spider-Man…" Peter said as he finished his slice.
"You got identity concerns too?" Danny asks.
"Let's just say there are people who either like Peter and hate Spider-Man… and there are those who are the other way around." Peter said before taking another slice. "It bites…" He said with a groan.
"I can agree with that..." Danny said.
"How so?" Peter asks.
"My ex-girlfriend… Well, we just went out. I never actually got to ask her to be my girlfriend. Anyway, she's actually a ghost hunter who usually tries to waste me since she thinks I intentionally ruined her life when I accidentally got her dad fired and has to now work as a security guard, ironically at the same place that fired him. And she ironically broke up with me...to protect me from myself, and that's just one example of how bad things can get for people who know me..." Danny said bitterly.
"My first costumed romance ended tragically when I found out she's the daughter of the guy who ruined my life… and said she won't forgive me when I made him stay in prison." Peter said, the look on his face showing part of him still missed Black Cat.
"The only other girlfriend I had was a bad guy's girlfriend who was overshadowing my old crush, dating me to make her boyfriend jealous. But she was using me to get him jealous, so it doesn't really count." Danny said.
"Wow, and I thought my love life was hard..." Peter said.
"Oh yeah, two pretty girls wanting to date you sounds really rough…" Danny quips.
"Yeah? Well… I had to break up with Liz to be with the girl I wanted to be with… but Harry guilt-tripped her into staying with him after what happened with his dad. Sure, she did find out and left him… but things didn't work out with us as I hoped. So, I broke Liz's heart for nothing." Peter said.
'Yeah? Well, that fruitloop I told you about rigged the election and became mayor just to torture me and keep a closer eye on my family. Pass laws for no other reason but to mess with me and my friends, while he tries to kill me dad so he can marry my mom, who hates him ..." Danny said.
"I think I got you topped. My February was spent caught in the middle of a gang war topped by a three way slug fest outside an opera, and my brother in all but blood blames me for everything wrong in his life and my boss blames me for his son going crazy while my aforementioned brother tried to expose my identity while being controlled by an alien ink monster..." Peter said.
Danny paused, blinking in surprise.
"Okay, we're tied..." He said.
"I can't tell you how much trouble it was finding that thing, and the trouble it caused me after…" Peter added.
"Still, I'm sure that I'm the only one who got cloned..." Danny said, recalling the incident with Danielle and the agonizing pain he went from Vlad trying to get his mid-morph DNA
Peter shook his head, surprised to hear that.
"Clones… I had a bit of that too. It's a good thing that wasn't something either of us had to deal with for such a long time." Peter said.
"Like 3 years?" Danny asks.
"That sounds... like it'd be way too long that people would want it to end." Peter said.
"Yeah." Danny said.
The two heroes kept talking and exchanging personal stories of their adventures.
"So, met any other heroes?" Peter asks.
"Ever heard of Ladybug?" Danny asks.
"That French heroine?" Peter asks.
"Yup." Danny nodded. "You're a lot like her... but she's way hotter." Danny said with a smile, clearly still attached to Marinette.
"I can't argue with that." Peter admitted with a laugh. "Anyone else?"
"A few, like Kim Possible." Danny responded.
"Kim Possible…" Peter said with a smile. "My girlfriend thinks she's the only redhead cooler than her. I don't agree… but she is hot." He admitted.
"Definitely…" Danny said with a wistful smile.
"Was she one of your dates?" Peter asks.
"Yup. First one, actually. She doesn't know my identity, but I bet we'd kick but together if I picked her." Danny said.
"If I wasn't with MJ, I'd be in this service. I could not tell you the kind of adventures I've had since February passed. Stuff I'd love to share with people…" Peter said.
"You're [redacted]-ing evil for implying seasons 3-5 happened." Deadpool grumbled to NeoMark.
"Ever met the Avengers?" Danny asks.
"No. I had a dream I did... but for some reason... I didn't sound like me. I sounded like a guy who wasn't putting any effort into sounding sincere, like an actor who was more interested in what was on his phone than what was written on a script sheet." Peter said.
"That sounds... like a terrible casting choice." Danny said.
"Yeah..." Peter said.
The pizza was now finished, which meant it was time for the two to discuss a specific elephant in the room.
''So, what does this mean?" Danny asked.
"Pardon?" Peter asked.
"I mean...we both found d out each other's secrets and we both kinda have an unspoken agreement to keep that between us..." Danny said.
Just like with the secret identities of everyone else he'd met over the summer, Danny wouldn't mention their alter egos. After Freakshow and the Reality Gauntlet Incident, Danny knew the risks of his identity getting exposed.
"Yeah, I'll keep quiet about you as long as you keep quiet about me. It's not like we've got to be enemies or something..." Peter said.
"Yeah, but...aside from the thing with Liz, we're cool?" Danny suggested.
Peter thought about it and nodded.
"Well, few people know about my secret and even fewer aren't out to kill me. Or they're Captain Stacy, who I think knows. And to be honest, just sitting here and talking about superhero stuff feels nice. Like someone actually gets what you're going through feels nice..." Peter said.
"I know,..." Danny said.
He thought he could try something like this with Ben, Kim, Violet, and maybe even the Sailor Guardians. Finding people who share a similar life to his was almost unlikely before the service. Even if he ends up with no one, it was at least a relief to meet others like him.
"Even though things ended poorly between us. I still care about Liz. She's a great girl and deserves someone who'll treat her right. So, if you both end up paired together at the end of your dating service thing, you better treat her right. She's an awesome girl and deserves someone who cares about her..." Peter said, showing concern for his ex.
"I agree that Liz is awesome and I had fun with her, but she was just being nice. What are the chances a girl like her would see someone like me as boyfriend material?" Danny asked, still believing Liz's affection was mostly platonic.
"I used to think the same thing before she kissed me on New Year's..." Peter said. "Liz is a great actress but she's honest about her feelings."
"Well… I hope you're right." Danny said before an idea came to him. "Maybe we can go on a double date? Me and Liz… or Kim or Violet or whoever I end up with, and you with MJ?" Danny suggested.
"I'd like that." Peter responded with a smile.
Danny smiled back when he then noticed how dark it was getting.
"Well... guess it's time to go. Thanks for Romita's pizza." Danny said.
"Right..." Peter said as he got up and put his mask back on.
Both heroes fist bump as Danny hovered up.
"Later, Spectacular Spider-Man." Danny said.
"Hasta luego, Danny Phantom." Spidey responded.
With that, Danny flew into the skies, heading straight for home.
"Well, that was quite a date. I can see now why you wanted to choose Liz..." FP said.
Neo grinned at that.
"Thanks..." He said.
"Welp, this was a swinging good time." 61394 says standing up stretching. "Pun 100 percent intended."
"Ha ha, that was so funny I forgot to laugh." Deadpool says sarcastically.
"Look, I said I'm sorry. Why are you so hung up on the Dragon's Lair prank?" 61394 asked. "By the way, it wasn't a reference to Ryan Reynolds' plan to adapt Dragon's Lair. It's just a really hard game."
"I lost chimichanga rights on these premises." Deadpool stated grumpily.
"I give up." 61394 shrugged before inching back.
"So…" BCFW cleared his throat. Speaking calmly he glanced at the room. "I guess you'd use the term spectacular to describe this date?"
"Yep, it really was SPECTACULAR! With the SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN!" Deadpool said, yelling the last part.
FP and the others, save for one, glared at him.
"We're not deaf, DP. Stop shouting in our ears..." 61394 said in annoyance.
"Sorry… was hoping you'd sing the theme song…" Deadpool said.
"You know we can't do that. We run the risk of getting the attention of the lawyers if we do-" FP11 said before being cut off.
"Crawling through the night, facing evil with his might! He's a hero in our eyes, he will help us every ti-ime! Ah-ah-ah-AHHH-ah! Ah-ah-ah-AH-AH-ah!" NeoMark went happily, getting people's attention. He looked at them without a thing of regret. "If this song gets me in serious trouble, totally worth it… too awesome not to acknowledge."
"I got a question before I forget. How come Danny and Peter never hung out in "Danny and Kim"?" 61394 asked. Before Deadpool can talk, 61394 cuts him off. "That weird scene where you made your debut in the franchise doesn't count Wade."
"As much as I hate to admit it, the dummy makes a good point. Why did Danny and Peter never hang out in the first and best spin-off story "Danny and Kim"?" Deadpool asks.
NeoMark was about to speak up, but FP11 cut him off.
"Because it was the 2017 series that everyone seems to either hate or be super indifferent towards, right?" She asks, clearly tired of him bringing it up.
"Bingo." NeoMark said.
"Okay, you got to use a version of Spider-Man you actually like in your take, the universe of the 2017 cartoon doesn't exist here. NOW will you please stop harping on my use of that series? Because if you don't, I'm also gonna ban pizza from the premises." FP11 warned.
"Yeah… don't worry… I'll stop." NeoMark said.
"Thank you!" FP11 went in relief.
"But don't forget… This is not a TMDDF spin-off in the proper sense. So, I'll stop… here. Just here." NeoMark said.
"Of course…" FP11 grumbled.
"Tell you what…" NeoMark said before taking the Continuity Gem from Deadpool. "I'll make you a deal. In return for putting up with my blatant favoritism on Spider-Man cartoons, I'll let you hold this."
"What for?" FP11 asks.
NeoMark then whispered something into her ear, causing her to smile. With a nod, she snapped her fingers.
"All done." NeoMark said.
They all heard rumbling noises coming from Deadpool
"Sorry, I was so eager to see my new teaser for Deadpool & Wolverine that I repeated it all day and didn't eat much..." The merc said.
"Huh, I'm getting kinda hungry too. Why don't we all take a quick break?" FP asked.
"Sounds good to me. There's a new burger place that just opened..." 61394 said.
"Let's go..." Neo said.
They soon all left to eat, unaware that they seemingly left the monitor on and the world of this alternate take went on.
Special thanks to Flower Princess11, BeConFuzzled Writer and 61394.
And yes, I'm evil for making things to have happened to this Spidey since.
And yes, I am playing favorites since, while I know Black Cat was among the top 10 dates... I personally didn't care for that series enough to put it here. Also, Across the Spider-Verse was a chief reason to use it despite that this is before that.
So... what did FP11 do with the gem? And what's to happen now that we reached the break arc like she did? Wait and see...
qazse: Yeah, I don't think she and Sky hit as well as the creators thought they would.
guardian1989: Thanks, also it's Liz.
Invader Johnny: Petty may very well be his middle name.

RonaldM40196867: Again, a lot of questions so I'm going to only answer some. They probably don't know Penelope Spectra. Yes, she likes his ghost half. Spelling error I didn't notice. Maybe but I don't watch Rewind Rumble. Thanks but I'm not taking story requests for now. Yes, he'd be a better boyfriend. Also... Bloom has no mask, of course he'd recognize her.
danifan3000: I feel like there should be a time limit before the story is given to someone else.
pokemon fan 1991: We shall see.
Warrior of the Forbidden Flame: Not MCU... I assume you meant movies. And yes, Tecna it was. I wasn't sure if she was truly in a relationship so let's just say they're on a break too.
amit . avrashmi: I can't use Gwen as I don't want to repeat names.
Menatron the Angel of Ideas: Wouldn't she just be in another long-distance relationship?
djinn: Liz Allen.
Greystroke Household: Yup. Yup. Yup.
drake wind: I couldn't find any stats for forms, just overall.
Runeion: Maybe.
KaminaJr: We shall see.
Luiz4200: Thanks a bunch. Also, forgot about her sister.
Jonas: She does, doesn't she?
JerodStorm: I was referencing the bible actually, the meek will inherit the Earth.
NateRiver: He's probably not gonna do well.
61394: Thanks for that and for your aid.
Jaded671: Hope this worked out for you.
Leonardo: Just a coincidence, I guess. Imma shoot high and say Yang Xiao Long.
