A Break Pt 1

Once Danny made it home, he went straight to cast in his score for Liz.

Liz Allen may have been his first completely normal date since Penny, but she was still a nice girl. He couldn't believe she used to act anything like Paulina, but the person he met was worthy of an 8.

At the same time, he wondered how well he could hide both his identity and Peter's. Although, he couldn't help but wish to have another team up with him.

"Well… I guess I know someone to add to my bowling team if I ever make one from heroes my age." He mused as he sat up. "Now… who's next?" That's when he read the email and his smile dropped. "Huh?"

It was a new message to dictate the problem.

"I AM SORRY, BUT YOU+ME=LOVE! IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. THE WEBSITE WILL BE INACCESSIBLE AND ALL FUTURE DATES WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY!"

Danny blinked.

"What happened?" He asks.

Earlier that day

There was a large crowd, filled with dozens of boys who all came here for once reasons. To join the dating service after seeing Danny being kissed by Bloom.

"Me! Me! Me!" Every boy's was heard as they all pushed others in line and tried to hand their forms like this was a chance to meet Bloom.

"Single file, people! Single file!" Neo shouted as he tried to regain control of the wild crowd of teenage boys.

"Too bad author you ditched..." Deadpool said, grinning under his mask as he hid behind the counter.

"I already have one annoying Deadpool, I don't need another in this story..." He muttered.

"Marvel [Name redacted due to standards & practices] out!" Deadpool went as he teleported.

Behind the crowds of boys was three young women, all of whom were mildly disappointed.

"This is stupid… but messing with some lowly human like these would be a good stress reliever." Icy said.

"Plus, if we find that boy Bloom was with…" Stormy suggested.

"It'll be perfect." Icy said with a sinister smile.

"You want to date him?" Darcy asks absentmindedly.

"No! Destroy him!" Icy snapped in anger.

Elsewhere, around that same time but in New York

A young kunoichi had just finished her training and was enjoying some rare free time.

During that time, she got bored and tried to cure it by seeing a flier at a newsstand.

"Blind dates? Really?" She questioned before noticing what the Daily Bugle just released.

"SPIDER-MAN AND GHOST BOY WRECK CONEY ISLAND!" It was read with the author of it being J Jonah Jameson.

"Huh? Ghost kid in Coney island? Interesting… maybe I got a shot to see him without O'Neil around." Karai said, smirking and no longer bored.

Elsewhere, around the same time but in New Salem

Torelai was bored out of her wits right now

"What's the point of Summer vacation if I got nothing to do in it? She thought, feeling bitter.

As she kept walking, she spotted a nearby flier that announced a certain dating service.

"You+me=Love?! How lame. And what is a normie dating service even being advertised here?" She wondered. That is when it came back to her. " Wait...isn't this where Wolf Breath signed up? And so did that Danny guy?" She asked out loud.

She then had a catty smirk as she got some ideas.

She recalled how she liked the scent of him, so much so that she kissed him. She couldn't help but like it.

"Hmm...the one normie I'll make an exception for.." She purred. with interest

Back to Danny, present time

Figuring he's been given a day off, Danny kicked back and decided to accept it.

"Guess I'm in the clear." He said before his phone went off. "$10 says it's Tucker." He saw the name. "I win." Danny then answered. "Sup?"

"Dude, you check the email?" Tucker asks.

"Yup. Looks like tomorrow is a day off from dating. Which is honestly great for me, because I'm kind of tired of flying all across the country, and the amount of pretty girls I'm meeting is kind of scaring me for how good my luck has been lately…" Danny said.

"If only we all had your problems." Tucker responded with sarcasm.

"Right, so, who's the lucky girl today?" Danny asks.

"Oh, I got this girl named Gwen. Not the girl I mentioned who looked like an older Sam, her name is Gwen Stacy. She's been on a cross country road trip for… something she didn't want to say. She's a nice girl, though." Tucker said.

"Gwen Stacy, huh? Interesting name. Anyway, my date's name was Liz Allan. Get this, she's basically the anti-Paulina." Danny said.

"Really? Give the deets." Tucker went, sounding interested.

From there, Danny begins to explain the date, minus Spider-Man's identity, as the two wonder what they'll do for a day off.

Morning

Danny was able to sleep in for once, something that made him feel relaxed.

"Best night of sleep in a while." He said happily before he yawned and stretched his arms up.

He yawned as he got dressed. That's when he looked up at the ceiling in thought.

This is the first time since meeting Kim that I'm not going out with anyone. I should figure out what I'm doing today, especially since Tucker said he's going to be paying someone a visit. He thought.

As he headed downstairs, he noticed how oddly quiet it was.

"Huh, usually I'd hear Dad working on gadgets or Mom either cooking or fixing whatever he breaks." He said as he reached the living room.

It was then he saw Jazz stepping out of the kitchen, her bag ready.

"Morning, little brother." Jazz said as she was heading for the door.

"Jazz? Where are Mom and Dad? And where ya goin'?" He asks.

"Well, Mom and Dad have taken notice of Danny Phantom being seen around the country. They're trying to figure out where the next place he's gonna show up is." Jazz said.

"Well… too bad they have no idea." Danny said with an amused smile.

"As for me, I got… stuff to do." She said with a tone that suggested she was hiding something. "There's some waffles ready for you."

"Wonderful… after all the dating I've done, it'll be great to take my time. Much as I liked meeting Kula, April or Liz… not needing to fly across the country for once means I can take my time." Danny said.

"That's good to hear." Jazz said before she looked up, as if a thought came to her. "So… would you say you're having fun, meeting these girls who are from the dating service and seem to like you, even the ones you say found out about your identity?" Jazz asked almost out of nowhere.

"Yeah." Danny said without thinking.

"How many would you say you… like?" Jazz asks.

"All but two of them. Granted, one was evil and the other was just chaotic." Danny admitted.

"Okay… but who do you… like-like? As in, who would you want to go on a second date with right now? Not being a couple right now, just going out?" Jazz asks.

"Huh… y'know? Bloom asked me how I would rank my dates so far, but she realized she was putting me on the spot. Well…" Danny looked up, unsure what to answer. "Not like I could just make a tier list like who my favorite member of the Avengers are…" Danny admitted.

"We both know it's Miss Marvel, that blonde hair and black outfit of hers." Jazz said with a smile.

"Okay, bad example." Danny said with a smile before going back to thinking about it. "Let's see… Kim was my first date and she's still someone I think about." Danny admitted.

"The famous Kim Possible would be expected." Jazz commented with a smile.

"There's Bloom, the girl who kissed me at Nasty Burger as you've heard. Kula's maturity level is as low as her blood sugar must be high… but she's still a great girl. Then there's Sam…"

"Your friend or the redheaded one?" Jazz asks.

"The redheaded one." Danny clarified.

"Huh… I recall you saying you've met other redheads." Jazz pointed out.

"Yeah?" Danny asks.

"And…?" Jazz questioned.

"And… what?" Danny asks.

"I mean… don't you think people are gonna raise eyebrows? Given my hair color?" Jazz asks.

"Don't be weird, Jazz. There's plenty of people who date people with the same hair color as their relatives. And besides, their shades of red are different shades than yours… and prettier too." He said in a rather blunt way.

"Gee, thanks." Jazz responded with mild annoyance.

"Anyway, Marinette's not a redhead, but she does wear red when she's-" He paused, realizing what he was about to say.

"When she's what?" Jazz asks.

"When she's… cold. Yeah." Danny said, thinking fast.

"Cold? It's summer." Jazz pointed out. "Did you guys get attacked by a monster snowman or something?"

"N-no. I just saw pictures of her in red." He said.

Not a lie… I looked up photos of her as Ladybug. J-Just to remember what she's like in that… He thought with a mild blush.

"Well… in any case… where did you sign up for this program, again?" Jazz asks.

"The mall. But it looks like the website's down today for some reason. Tucker thinks it's because a lot of people signed up yesterday. Probably because they saw me with Bloom two days ago." Danny said.

"But that doesn't mean the stand is closed, right?" Jazz asks before noticing the curious look on Danny's face, causing her to clear her throat and look away. "I mean… asking out of scientific curiosity. Yeah, that." She went, clearly not fooling him.

"You wanna join?" Danny asks with a smile.

"No!" Jazz snapped before Danny looked unconvinced, causing her to slouch in defeat. "Yes…"

I knew it. He thought in amusement.

"You know… if you want, I can help you with the form." Danny said.

"Well… let me think about it first. I figure I could do this once as a social experiment of sorts, so I can understand why it's so appealing to so many people our age. That and if you of all people could meet girls who are somehow the polar opposite of girls here in Amity Park, then maybe there's hope for me." Jazz said.

"Well… feel free to give it a try. I'm off to eat." Danny said as he headed for the kitchen.

Jazz took a deep breath and resumed going to the door.

"Brothers." She said under her breath as she exited.

With an entire day to himself, Danny left his house at 10:30 AM

Okay… a whole day to myself. Now… what to do? He thought.

Seeing as Jazz and Tucker were busy, Sam was out of the country, and he had no idea where Danielle was, he'd have a day all to himself. Since the observatory was being reconstructed, though he heard more than half the repairs were done almost like magic and that made him think Bloom had a hand in it, he decided he would go somewhere else. He decided to start with going to the swap meet.

He made his way there, thankful that there was no trouble from ghosts or from Dash.

"So far so good…" He said to himself.

"STOP! THIEF!" Someone shouted.

Danny stopped, turning his head to see someone running with a box. It was a stocky man with a beard, who seemed to be middle aged. He was also wearing a kilt and a beret.

"Just try me, laddie!" He shouted, carrying the box under his arm.

Before Danny could do anything, someone jumped over a stand and appeared before the man in the kilt.

"Shopping, Killigan? You forgot to pay." This person said confidently with fists at her hips.

Danny couldn't believe what he was seeing. More accurately, he couldn't believe who he was seeing right now.

"Kim?!" He exclaimed in excitement. He quickly checked his hair and breath before he went in her direction. "Guess I found something to do after all…"

Kim then kicked the box out of Killigan's arm before kicking him into unconsciousness.

"That's one problem taken care of." Kim said.

"Cool." A voice she found familiar spoke before she heard clapping.

Realizing who this was, Kim turned her head and saw him smiling while applauding her.

"Danny?!" She asked, happy to see him.

"Were you expecting Optimus Prime?" Danny jokingly asks.

Kim couldn't help but chuckle as she blushed slightly at seeing him again.

"I knew this was your town, but I sooner thought I'd meet Danny Phantom than you." Kim responded.

If only you knew… Danny thought.

"It has been a while. How have you been?" Danny asked, rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh, you know...same old, same old..." Kim said, blushing a bit.

"And… the Scottsman there?" Danny asks, pointing to the unconscious man.

"Oh, that's Duff Killigan. He's a bad guy I tend to deal with. Real pain in the butt." Kim said.

I know the feeling with the Box Ghost. Danny thought, wishing he could be as open with her about his adventures as he was with Peter Parker yesterday.

"So… how long are you sticking around?" Danny asks, hoping to spend some time with her.

"Sadly, not long. I have to return what he stole." Kim said as she picked up the box. "He'd been stealing broken pieces of some old super weapon, I was called in at 5 in the morning to help find it here." She further explained.

"I see…" Danny said in slight disappointment.

"I got time to at least grab a snack while GJ comes for Killigan." Kim said with a smile.

"GJ?" Danny asks.

"Long story. Anyway… seeing as I skipped breakfast, what's to eat around here?" Kim asks.

Danny couldn't help but smile.

Guess I get to go on a date today after all… He thought.

As they left, someone watched them. Someone with turquoise hair who happened to notice him.

"Darn… wrong Danny. I guess he only comes when there's ghosts…" She said to herself.

Danny took Kim to a food truck that frequently visited the swap meet.

There, she ordered a breakfast sandwich and took a bite. Danny ordered a small tray of tater tots, given he already had breakfast.

As they sat at a bench, side to side, they were talking together.

"So… sounds like your friend Ron isn't going so well. My friend, Tucker, the guy I told you got me in here? He changed his description after his last date made him… less than comfortable." Danny said.

"I wish his last date made Ron do the same." Kim said as she put her sandwich down while sitting outward. "He went with some girl named "K Oz-ka"." Kim explained with air quotes. "All he could say is "she's a 20 out of 10 but she's also hazardous to my health"." Kim said, emulating Ron's voice as best as she could. "He asked to take a day off from helping me so he could destress at Bueno Nacho and I gave it to him." Kim said.

"There's that name again… K Oz-ka. Tucker said he met her and sounded a lot like what your friend said." Danny said.

"Well… as long as she avoids trouble in Middleton, she and I will have few problems." Kim said.

"Did you meet her?" Danny asks.

"No, and Ron's too scared to give a description." Kim said..

"I see…" Danny said before an idea to change the subject came. "So, you got 4 dates left too?"

"Sure do." Kim said.

"Well… any prospective boyfriends?" Danny jokingly asks.

"Hmm...well, I might have a few in mind." Kim responded with a smile. "You?" She asks as she strokes some hair behind her ear.

"Oh no… I'm straight…" Danny responded.

Both of them laughed at that.

"Well…" Kim went before looking a bit flustered. "I won't lie… had it not been for that first date, I wouldn't still be here." She admitted before looking away with a bashful smile.

"Likewise…" Danny responded, unable to get his eyes off her.

As the two shared a gaze, they seemed to ignore the world around them. It was as if, for a moment, they forgot everything else but each other. That was, however, until someone spotted them.

"Ah nuts! She beat us to it!" A familiar valley girl voice shouted in anger.

"Darn it! Wait, Sammy? Is that who I think it is?" Another voice went.

"Danny?!" A third familiar voice was heard.

Danny turned around and gasped when he saw three familiar girls in their jumpsuits.

"Samantha?" He asked.

"Yeah… it's me." Samantha said, blushing slightly as she walked closer.

Danny stood up, much to Kim's minor ire as she raised a brow.

"How have you been?" Danny asks.

"Oh… just… great, actually." Sam went, her face turning slightly red as her eyes darted away while rubbing her hands in a shy way.

"I knew she was still into him." Alex whispered to Clover.

"Uh, Danny?" Kim asks him.

"Hmm?" Danny looks back at Kim.

"Who is this?" She asks, gesturing to Samantha.

"Samantha Simpson, I met her on the dating service." Danny explained.

Samantha, realizing Danny was with Kim, looked at the other redhead with shock.

"You two know each other?" She asked.

"Yeah, I met her on the dating service too." Danny explained, not sensing much hostility until seeing the look on his second date's face.

"I see." Samantha said as she glared at Kim, who glared back.

"Oh! She's stealing our jobs and Sammy's new boyfriend." Alex whispered to Clover.

"Looks like a battle of the redheads. Fiery colors and tempers." Clover commented.

It was then that Danny found himself in a pickle. Seeing some kind of hostility in their eyes, directed at each other, he felt the need to find an escape.

"Uh… I'm gonna go… make a call. To… someone, you don't know them." Danny said as he stepped aside.

Once he was gone, Samantha scoffed loudly.

"You scared him off." She said to Kim.

"So did not!" Kim responded.

Danny went into the restroom, but while he felt scared, part of him couldn't deny the feeling of two beautiful girls fighting over him. As such, he morphed and returned, albeit invisible and hovering.

"So… WOOHP tried to get involved, huh?" Kim asks.

"We're the ones who found the other parts. We were going to retrieve it… until you got in the way." Samantha responded.

"Well… I got it all taken care of and am giving this to Global Justice." Kim said, gesturing to the box she had.

"First you steal our task, then you steal Sammy's boyfriend!" Alex went.

"Not my boyfriend!" Samantha snapped at her friends before going back to Kim.

Kim and Samantha continue to send glares at each other while Danny stares at the two in both fear and interest.

Why do I feel like I'm the reason for this problem? He thought.

"So, you met him through the dating service too?" Kim asked.

"Uh huh, I was his second date. You?" Sam asked.

"I was his first date..." Kim said, almost sounding smug.

"Oh, is that so?" Sam asked.

"So was." Kim went with arms crossed.

"I cannot believe this amateur…" Clover grumbled.

"Jerry's been upset she's been taking up so many potential missions…" Alex whispered.

Danny couldn't help but overhear those two as well.

I get it… these girls are part of some actual spy agency, but Kim's an independent who seems to outshine them. He thought as part of him couldn't help but watch Kim and Samantha resume their standoff.

"Just so you know… Danny admitted it was thanks to me he's in this. So, you have me to thank for him meeting you." Kim said.

"Well… the first isn't necessarily the best." Samantha stated, gesturing to herself proudly. "Sometimes, it's the second that stands out the best."

Both girls glared intensely at each other, something Danny couldn't help but find remotely attractive.

Two total babes being competitive over who I like more? So glad I took this program. He thought happily.

Kim's Kimmunicator got her attention.

"Hold it." Kim went, answering. "Go Wade."

"Global Justice will be there in 5 minutes, Kim." Wade said.

"Darn… so soon. Alright, thanks Wade." Kim said as she disconnected.

Seeing that as a sign, Danny flew back to the bathroom and morphed back to human form. He then returned.

"Hi! Not late for anything, am I?" He asks, playing dumb.

"Not at all." Kim went, finishing her sandwich before wrapping an arm around his as she started to walk away from the WOOHP agents. "My ride's on its way here." She then looked back at the girls, Samantha specifically, and waved with a smug look on her face. "Bye."

Samantha gritted her teeth and balled her hands into fists.

"That girl… it's bad enough she's making us look bad… now this?" She asks.

"I thought Danny wasn't your boyfriend?" Clover asks with a look of mild disinterest.

"That doesn't mean I don't like him!" Samantha snapped. "He's kind of the only date I've had who wasn't a massive pain." She added with a groan.

"Huh… come to think of it… he wasn't surprised by these suits." Alex pointed out, gesturing to their outfits.

"He probably thought they were tracksuits or something…" Clover reasoned.

A still out cold Killigan was being taken into a swat truck owned by Global Justice. As that went on, Kim handed the box to one of the men inside. With that, she looked to Danny.

"Sorry this… sort of second date ended so soon." Kim said.

"It's cool." Danny said.

"It was nice seeing you again, Danny. We should do this again real soon..." Kim said.

"That mean you wanna pick me as your match?" Danny asks with a smile.

"Well… I got four guys left so… who's to say that won't change, right?" Kim asks, blushing slightly.

"Yeah..." Danny said.

She then kissed him on the cheek before she left with her ride.

"Take care, Danny." Kim said.

"Take care!" Danny went, waving to her.

"Next time I'm in town, I'll let you know. Call me or be- uh, call me!" Kim called out from the window.

Once she was gone, Danny sighed dreamily.

"She's still awesome..." He said in a daze.

Once she was gone, Danny turned around and found Samantha was approaching him. She had a rather interested look on her face.

"So… uh… now that she's gone… any chance you can show me where to grab a quick bite?" She asks.

She didn't need to eat, she just wanted an excuse to be around him.

"Sure, there's plenty of food trucks. I'll buy." Danny offered.

Hearing that put a smile on Samantha's face before what Alex said earlier caught her attention.

"Oh… uh… you must be wondering… "Why is she dressed like a Power Ranger?" or something…" She went nervously, gesturing to her outfit.

Crud… she doesn't know I've seen her in that before. He thought, letting his eyes wander her figure before clearing his throat.

"Cosplay?" He asks, trying to hide he's seen her in that before.

"Yeeeeeaaaahhhh… cosplay. For… something Alex suggested. She's the one in yellow." Samantha responded, gesturing to the girls behind her.

The one in yellow waved happily, the one in red looked disinterested and didn't bother paying attention, only crossing her arms and pouting to the side.

"I remember." Danny said with a smile.

"Hi there." Alex said.

"Yeah, hi." Clover went, sounding unfriendly as she looked around and did her hair. "Any chance that ghost boy's around here?" She asks with eagerness.

"Sorry…" Danny went.

Sorry, but both our friends are more my speed. He thought.

"Darn… the one thing that made me okay with coming back…" Clover went, crossing her arms and looking disappointed.

"Anyway…" Samantha went, clearing her throat. "That bite to eat?"

After Samantha had her bite to eat, like Kim, her ride was ready. It was in fact her boss ready to "WOOHP" her and her friends away after he had been informed of what happened.

Sam was wishing Danny goodbye as her friends were a few feet away.

"If I were Sammy, I'd find an excuse to stay longer." Alex said, still having her eyes on Danny.

"I'd stay just to meet the other Danny…" Clover stated.

Samantha was still speaking to Danny, clearly taking her time.

"I had fun seeing you again, Danny..." Sam said, blushing a bit.

"Yeah, me too." Danny said. "Safe trip, Samantha."

"Actually…" Samantha went, getting his attention.

"Yeah?" He asks.

"Call me Sammy." She responded with a blush. "I… don't mind it."

"Oh…" Danny said, realizing she seems to trust him enough to use a nickname. "Sure, Sammy."

Samantha then planted a kiss on his cheek, the opposite to the one Kim kissed.

"Look me up if you are ever in Beverly Hills. Take care..." Sammy said, waving goodbye.

Danny was silent, blushing beat red.

Two beautiful girls have done this to me in the span of an hour. I am the luckiest guy on Earth right now… He thought, still blushing.

As he walked away, the girls from WOOHP went into an unused port-o-potty.

"This is the grossest place Jerry's made us go to yet!" Clover complained.

"Why does the amateur get an actual ride?!" Alex complained.

Then came a flush.

"JERRY!" Sammy shouted as the girls were heard being sent back to WOOHP.

Danny didn't notice that. Instead, he kept walking as he observed more of what could be for sale. He then went to one stand.

"Manga? Sure." He said as he went to see some manga that wasn't translated to English. "Huh… Let's see…"

That's when he heard a laugh. One he found somewhat familiar.

Where have I heard that? He thought as he went around the bookshelf.

There, he saw a familiar figure with a turquoise hair color, doing her best not to laugh at what she was reading.

"Yuki?" He asks.

Realizing he's seen her, Yuki hid her face behind the book with a blush.

"Uh, hi, Danny…" Yuki went.

"Hi. What are you up to?" Danny asks.

"Oh… uh… it's my last day here in America and no more dates. So… I figure today I will just go out and have fun." She said before her eyes went to the book again and she laughed.

"That a funny book?" Danny asks.

"It's not a very… family friendly manga." Yuki admitted as her eyes darted away.

"What does that mean?" Danny asks.

"You don't wanna know." Yuki said.

"Oh… well… I guess I'll leave you to it." Danny said.

As Danny pulled away, Yuki had an idea. One that required being around Danny.

"Uh… actually?" Yuki went.

"Actually?" Danny asks.

"I was wondering if… you and I could hang out today? Not a date, just friends?" Yuki asks.

"Uh… sure?" Danny went.

Yuki nodded with a small smile.

And I bet the more of this town I see, the sooner I find Phantom! Yuki thought, really wanting to compare this Danny to the other to see who she likes more.

"So… do we go now or do you wanna buy that thing?" Danny asks.

"Uh… maybe after I purchase this." Yuki responds.

Curiosity got to him.

"Can I read it?" Danny asks, trying to get closer before Yuki pulls it back.

"Not sure about that." She said with a nervous smile.

"What? Is it gory?" Danny jokingly asks as he gets behind her to get a good look.

What he saw made his eyes widen.

"Uh… oops?" Yuki went bashfully.

Meanwhile, with the authors

All of them were eating ramen.

"So, anyone want seconds?" NeoMark asks.

"HERE!" Everyone went.

"I'd like another bowl of chicken ramen, please." FP11 said.

NeoMark smiles before a thought comes to him.

"I wonder if leaving the monitor on to let the break arc do its own thing without us watching or me influencing was a good idea?" He asks himself.

"I'm sure it's fine." Deadpool said.

NeoMark shrugged as he resumed lunch.
