The Sorcerer Hero: Deku

Chapter seventeen: Nazarick vs. the League of Villains, part three

The students of U.A.'s Class 1-A and Class 1-B were shocked by what was happening; villains had somehow found their way to the summer break training camp and were attacking. Given how secure the place was and how much the secret of its location was kept, the hero students had no idea how the villains found out. A good number of the students could only hope that the teachers and pro heroes there will be able to help.

Somewhere in the forest during the villain attack, Ochaco and Tsuyu were confronted by Toga, who had out a knife and one of her needles for drawing blood. "The two of you are really cute," Toga said, "I'm gonna wanna get some blood from both of you."

"You're a creep," Ochaco said, trying to be firm but still clearly scared.

Toga took a step forward, but a bolt of lightning that looked like a dragon blasted the ground right in front of Toga, making her jump back. "That's enough out of you, girl!" Ainz snapped as he came in with Yaoyorozu and Jiro behind him, with the latter carrying Kota on her back. The clearly pissed look on the face of the Sorcerer King made it clear his ire was aimed at Toga.

"Midoriya!" Tsuyu cried out, "This girl is with a-"

"-Group of villains who are attacking the training camp," Jiro cut in, "We know. Midoriya took out two of the attacking villains so far! Some guy named Muscular, and a guy wrapped entirely in black leather who killed Mineta!"

Both Ochaco and Tsuyu looked shocked to hear that one of their classmates had been killed by one of the villains attacking the training camp. "Mineta's been killed?!" Ochaco practically exclaimed.

As for Toga, she looked an even mix of surprised and worried. "Shit, Dabi-kun told us to avoid killing unless it's one of the pro heroes that don't matter. And both Muscle-kun and Moonfish-kun were taken down by the green haired boy? This ain't good!" Toga took out a smoke grenade and used it to cover her escape. Ainz could have stopped her, but he was a bit jumbled and wanting to make sure that none of his other peers were killed.

After Toga was gone, Ainz, Kota, and the girls settled down a bit. "Is..." Tsuyu began, both she and Ochaco looking like they might cry, "...Is Mineta really dead kero?"

"He died pinning a villain down so he, Jiro, and Yaoyorozu could escape," Ainz said, his tone and expression grim, "At least that's what Yaoyorozu and Jiro said. The villain just so happened to have a quirk that let him fatally strike Mineta from a distance." The two girls who came with Ainz nodded in confirmation.

"And what that Toga girl said..." Jiro said, "...About how the villains apparently have to avoid killing unless it's a pro hero who doesn't matter... does that mean one or two of them do matter? And if that is the case, what do the villains want with the pro heroes who do matter?"

Ainz's mind raced a mile a minute at what Jiro pointed out. All that Ainz knew about the League of Villains's attack on the training camp here was that the aim of it was to kidnap Todoroki. But if a pro hero apparently matters enough so that said pro hero can't be killed, are they a potential kidnapping target as well?

The most likely targets Ainz could think of were Aizawa, as his Erasure quirk could be reasoned to be a thorn in the side of the League of Villains, and Pixie-Bob, as her Earth Flow quirk is one of the strongest forms of geomancy Ainz had ever seen, especially given Pixie-Bob's level. It's why Ainz got a Quirk Jewel containing a copy of Earth Flow early during the first day of the training camp.

To the girls with him and Kota, Ainz said, "Our peers out in the forest for the Test of Courage, both in our class and in Class 1-B, are in danger as there are villains here and on the loose. We need to find them and help them out!" The girls all agreed, and they plus Kota all left with Ainz to go find as many of their peers as possible, especially as they want to prevent more of what happened to Mineta.

Meanwhile at the lodge, Aizawa, Kan, Mandalay, and Ragdoll were fighting off a large swarm of Twice clones. "The training camp is being attacked by villains!" Mandalay said, "We need to warn the rest of the Pussycats and all of the students outside of the lodge!"

"And where in blazes are the arrows coming from?!" Kan asked as he pulled an arrow from his knee, luckily it only stuck a bit in the kneecap and didn't pierce all the way through, although it was mostly due to the Blood Hero using his quirk to push the arrow back before it could go very far. A very great testament to the skill that Kan had as a pro hero.

Indeed, while the Twice army had the heroes and lodge surrounded, arrows occasionally flew in and struck at the heroes. It was Beros, standing at a distance with Spinner and Rappa, her left pinky and thumb extended so she could turn her left hand into a long bow and fire arrows at the heroes. She was using the quivver given to her by Ainz, using what Ainz claimed was quirked based technology but in reality it's just a magic item from the first New World.

A magic item that never ran out of arrows as the spent arrows would magically be teleported back to the quivver. The heroes were so caught up in fighting off the Twice clones that they didn't even notice the used arrows disappear. All they knew was that they had to fight for not just their lives, but the lives of the students at the training camp.

"These villain bastards," Aizawa swore, "Like hell I'll let them harm even one student of U.A.!"

...

"How are we going to tell Aizawa-sensei that Mineta was killed?" Ochaco asked as she, Tsuyu, Jiro, Yaoyorozu, and Kota ran with Ainz through the forest. Ainz saw that smoke was coming out and it made the girls and Kota cough but had no effect on him. Ainz realized that the smoke had an effect on the living but did nothing to undead such as himself.

When the source of the smoke was found, Ainz saw that a boy in a boy's Junior High School uniform and a WW2 style helmet and gas mask was emitting the smoke while facing off against Itsuka and Tetsutetsu of Class 1-B, both of them looking like they were struggling especially as they were both trying to avoid breathing in the smoke.

Ainz cast an attack spell at the ground in front of the boy emitting smoke, getting his attention. Ainz was then able to scare the boy away with a display of Chain Dragon Lightning that was aimed at the skies above; Ainz wasn't sure if the smoke was combustible and he didn't want to take the chance. Regardless, he succeeded in scaring the smoke boy off.

Ainz then was able to dispel the smoke and make things clear enough for every (living) person to breathe. Ainz saw that all of the humans had succumbed to the effects of the smoke, so he cast Time Stop to pull a special item out of his inventory to solve things. An enchanted bell that was part of a set of enchanted bell items from YGGDRASIL, Ainz due to his hoarding habit back in the game wanted the whole set.

But the bell he pulled out was the one bell from the set he couldn't get on his own, mostly due to luck not being on his side. Luckily for Ainz, his guild mate Anubis Nile, the one who made Setsuna Wahid, got an extra of the enchanted bell that Ainz pulled out and gave it to him as a gift so that the leader of the guild could have the full set of those enchanted bell items. The bell Ainz had pulled out was an unlimited use item that cured all ailments from those it was rung on if their level was half or less than that of the user.

The strongest of the first year hero course students at U.A. right now, not counting Ainz, was still a shade shy of reaching level twenty. With Ainz at level one-hundred, he could use it on any of the first year hero course students at the training camp with him. And it worked like a charm, curing all of the humans with him of all that failed them. It was as if the smoke was never made by the smoke boy in the first place.

Ainz put the enchanted bell back into his inventory, thinking he might need it later, before dropping the Time Stop. "Hey, I feel better all of a sudden," Tetsutetsu said, he as well as the other humans all looking surprised.

"We ought to keep together," Ainz said, "For all we know, there's more villains than the one who was bothering you and Kendo-san. I chased off one bothering Yaoyorozu and Jiro, and defeated one named Muscular and another who Toga had identified as Moonfish."

"We also ought to find more of our classmates," Ochaco said, "They're in danger still, as are the Pussycats and our senseis."

Scowling, Itsuka said, "We'll make those villains pay for attacking us, as well as keep them from killing even one-"

"They already killed Mineta," Yaoyorozu said sadly, cutting Itsuka off and drawing shocked looks out of both Itsuka and Tetsutetsu.

"The unmanly pricks," Tetsutetsu growled, "They're asking for a steel coated knuckle sandwich right to the face!"

"Let's just focus on finding more of our peers and getting them to safety," Ainz said, leading everyone off to find other Class 1-A and Class 1-B students out in the forest.

Tenya, Todoroki, Bakugo, Tokoyami, Tiger, and Pixie-Bob stood in opposition of Dabi, Mr. Compress, new LoV recruit Magne, and a bunch of Twice clones Dabi had Twice make for him to give him a numbers advantage before going off. "If you villains think you can get away with invading Wild Wild Pussycats territory and raising a ruckus during the training camp," Pixie-Bob swore, "Then you have another thing coming!"

Waving his hand like he was waving something away, Dabi said, "Relax, kitty kitty. The lads that I brought with me are only here to pick up one of the kids from U.A. Day Care, as well as grab one of the pro heroes. I got word from my main man Spinner over the comm devices that he's currently leading men to take the pro hero in question."

"You're going to kidnap a student and one of the pro heroes?" Tiger exclaimed.

"Hey, be glad I told my men to not kill any students," Dabi said, "As well as not to kill the pro hero we're aiming to take."

Bakugo made explosions fly up from his hands. "I'd like to see you bastard villain bastards try to take me prisoner!"

Arching a wry eyebrow, Dabi said, "What use would I have for an angry Pomeranian like you, Boom-Boom Boy?"

"Then you must be after our classmate Yaoyorozu," Tenya reasoned, "She is from an incredibly wealthy family, you villains must think you can get a ransom out of her folks by taking her hostage!"

Gently shaking his head, Dabi replied, "Nope, we got our own financial backing already." Dabi raised his right index finger up and leveled it to point at Todoroki. "We're aiming to take Endeavor's baby boy there with us," Dabi said.

Todoroki scowled bitterly. "So it's me you want. And given you mentioned my relation to my father, this act is at least partly a personal attack against him."

"Ding ding ding, we have a winner," Mr. Compress spoke up, "Now, unless you want things here to turn ugly, you'll let us put a pair of quirk suppressing handcuffs on you so you can't use your quirk, then you'll willing come with us."

"We aren't going to kill students," Magne said, "But we aren't above roughing you kiddies up really fierce like."

Stepping forward, Pixie-Bob yelled, "Like hell we'll let you villains kidnap any student period! The rest of the Pussycats and I, as well as Eraserhead and Vlad King, will never per-"

*GRAB*

Pixie-Bob was cut off when a Twice clone was able to sneak up from behind and grab her in a hold while holding a knife to her throat. Similarly, another Twice clone did the same with Tiger. "If either of you so much as look like you're trying to use your quirk, Twice's clones there will kill you," Dabi said coolly, "Am I clear?" After a few moments of shocked silence from the hero students and two members of the Pussycats, Dabi said, "I'll take that as a yes. Now then."

Turning to look at the hero students, Dabi said, "Endeavor's brat. You will let Mr. Compress put the quirk suppressing handcuffs on you, then let him compress you into a marble for easy transport. It's how his quirk works, and you'll be fine. If either you or any of your little buddies with you fight back in anyway, the pros that Twice's clones are holding at knife point WILL kill those pros.

"Don't listen to the villains, kids!" Tiger said, "Forget about me and Pixie-Bob! Get the hell out of here!"

Arching a wry eyebrow, Dabi said, "Let me make a slight change to my demands. If you or any of your little buddies there do anything period aside from what I'm wanting, the pros will die. Either you do as I say or at least two pro heroes die. I will permit no other options. Am I clear?"

Todoroki gulped nervously, not sure what to do. At an absolute minimum, he didn't want any deaths to be attributed to him in any way. But to ensure that, he has to let the villains here take him as their prisoner. Trying to look serious, Todoroki asked, "Can I at least ask why you aim to kidnap me?"

"Ah ah ah," Dabi said as he waved a finger, "That would be telling." Stepping forward, Dabi said, "Now then, we're on a tight schedule, so Imma gonna speed this up. You have ten seconds to comply if you want the pros to live." Holding up his hands with all digits extended, Dabi said while lowering one digit at a time, "Ten, nine, ei-"

"I'll go with you," Todoroki said, sounding defeated.

"Todoroki, no!" Tokoyami said, "We must not give in to villain demand! It will onl-"

"-It will let Tiger and Pixie-Bob live," Todoroki interrupted, then added while turning to look at Dabi, "Assuming the villains are willing to keep their promise."

Smirking a bit in amusement, Dabi said, "Rest assured that if I get what I want, I will keep my word. Mind you, the Twice clones holding the pros hostage will continue to do so as my group gets away, but once we're far enough away they'll let the pros go and the rest of you will be allowed to try to get them down if you can."

Seeing little other option, Todoroki walked forward and held his hands out so that handcuffs could be put on his wrists. Mr. Compress then put a pair of quirk suppressing handcuffs on Todoroki's wrists, then used his quirk to compress Todoroki into a marble that he picked up and pocketed. "Well now," Dabi said, "We'll just go grab the one pro hero we want to take alive, I'm certain my good man Spinner captured her by now, then we'll be taking our leave. Ciao."

Tiger, Pixie-Bob, and the remaining boys all watched as Dabi's group took their leave, having successfully taken Todoroki due to the threat they were posing. "Grr..." Bakugo growled, "...Bastard villain bastards..."

...

As Dabi's group made their way towards the lodge, he used a comm device to contact Spinner. "How is it going with capturing Ragdoll for the boss man?" Dabi asked.

"We just knocked out all of the pro heroes and have the kids at the lodge at our mercy," Spinner replied, "But you ought to hurry. I just got word from Toga that Muscular and Moonfish have both been taken down, also Toga has confirmed that Moonfish killed one of the hero students."

"Fuck!" Dabi swore, "I told everyone to avoid killing the hero students! Now the time we're working with has really been shortened as the pro heroes are going to be up our asses!" Dabi let out a sigh. "We'll see you soon at the lodge, then gather as many of our men as we can and get the hell out of here once Ragdoll is compressed into a marble."

After Dabi ended the communication, Mr. Compress said, "Did I hear right that a hero student was killed?"

"That creepy creep Moonfish killed a hero brat, yeah," Dabi scowled, "Also both Moonfish and Muscular have been taken down."

Although his mask covered it, Mr. Compress was surprised. "The pros are all accounted for, and none of them came in contact with Muscular. That means a hero student took him down. The same applies to Moonfish."

"The kids are getting stronger with each generation," Dabi remarked wryly, "Especially kids that were birthed with the intent to be strong, like Endeavor's baby boy."

Ainz's group found Yosetsu, Juzo, and Nirengeki knocked out due to the same effects made by the smoke from that smoke boy. Ainz did for them what he did for the persons with him, using Time Stop to make sure no one saw him use a magic item. He highly doubt he could pass off his curing bell as quirk based technology; he was surprised he was able to fool Beros into thinking her quivver of arrows from the first New World was quirk based technology.

When the three boys were cured and got up, their group ran into the Nomu that the League of Villains brought with them to the training camp attack. Ainz was about to see how many spells it would take him to kill the nomu, but Yaoyorozu said, "Wait, I have an idea on how to track down where the villains are going to go off to!"

To Ainz's surprise, Yaoyorozu made a tracking device combo, one part a small signal disk the size of a small coin, and the other a remote to track it. She said that if they could get the device stuck to the nomu then chase it off, the heroes could potentially track the villains down to their lair. Yosetsu said he could easily stick the signal disk to the nomu with his quirk Welding, but he'll need the nomu restrained so he could get in there safely.

Ainz cast a Fireball he was holding back on, striking the nomu and stunning it temporarily. Yosetsu rushed in quickly and welded the signal disk to under the nomu's right arm in an area the villains aren't going to notice right away. The boys backed off to let the nomu get up, and Ainz chased it off when it got up. Although from the looks of it Ainz would reason that the nomu was being called back anyway.

"We're going to have to let the pro heroes know about this," Yaoyorozu said, "Give them the tracking device so that they could go and track down where the villains are going to be hiding out at."

"I will admit, it's a bright idea," Ainz said, figuring he will let the pro heroes wear the League of Villains down for him. Also, Beros and Rappa aren't exactly in a position right now to leak to him the location of the League of Villains hideout, so letting the pro heroes do the heavy lifting for him was the way to go here.

"We ought to go try to find the rest of our peers," Nirengeki said, "Try to save them if we can."

"I still can't believe your classmate Mineta was killed," Juzo said, "I swear, if Monoma makes a snide comment about your class over the loss you guys suffered, Imma pop him right in the nose!"

Ainz looked up at the night skies above. Similar to what he saw when he first got to the first New World, the Sorcerer King saw a clear, beautiful starry night sky, a sky he bet his old guild mate Blue Planet would have been moved to tears upon seeing. Ainz himself would have not mind laying on the ground in the grass and looking straight up to see the stars, but there was more pressing issues of business to attend to.

Eventually, with the exceptions of Muscular and Moonfish who were both knocked out, all members of the League of Villains who attacked the training camp not only got away, but they also kidnapped both Todoroki and Ragdoll. The other Pussycats as well as Aizawa and Kan suffered various injuries, but nothing that they can't fully recover from especially due to having access to Recovery Girl and her amazing healing quirk.

The rest of the first year hero course students from U.A. were shocked to hear that not only was Todoroki kidnapped by the villains, but that Mineta was killed by one of them. Aizawa actually lost his usual cool for a moment, letting out a freaked out shout before settling down and actually softly crying over his slain student.

Ainz as well as Yaoyorozu and Jiro were able to show Aizawa and the remaining Pussycats (Kan while at the training camp still had a knee injury that kept him from going) over to where Mineta's body was left under a sheet Yaoyorozu conjured with her quirk. Ainz told the heroes how Mineta, with no thought of scoring with any girl period, had pinned the villain Moonfish with his Pop Off quirk so he, Jiro, and Yaoyorozu could escape.

Minoru Mineta had died being a hero.

The Pussycats restrained and brought in the knocked out villains while Aizawa carried Mineta's body, wrapped up in the sheet Yaoyorozu laid over her deceased classmate. The heroes were all surprised to hear that Ainz had defeated both knocked out villains on his own, Mandalay especially as Muscular is the villain who killed Kota's parents. "I'm surprised you didn't consider killing the villain who killed your classmate, Midoriya," Pixie-Bob remarked.

"Killing is not something heroes tend to do," Ainz replied, "So I went with knocking him out instead. I will have to be content with letting the law punish the villains." Little did the pro heroes know that Ainz was going to grab Muscular and Moonfish later and bring them to Nazarick, let one of his loyal NPCs have fun with Muscular while he himself blasted Moonfish to the point there won't be enough left afterwards to fill a matchbox.

Emergency response teams came to the training camp to offer aid and relief. Thanks to Ainz going around while he had time frozen and curing everyone affected by the smoke boy's smoke, the only real issues were injuries suffered by the pro heroes, but Recovery Girl can fix all of that. Of course, given that there were two kidnappings and a death, the training camp had to be ended early, which meant the students all had to go home.

This gave Ainz time to go over a few things.

The next day, news of what broke out at the summer break training camp run by the Pussycats had made national news. One of the Pussycats and the son of Japan's number two hero were both taken from the camp by the villains, and one of the students was killed. Things were heated up under not just U.A. but pro hero society in general. This left the heroes scrambling to come up with how to handle things.

First off, the group of students who stuck the signal disk linked to the tracking device to the nomu at the training camp handed the tracking device to All Might while explaining what they had been able to do and why. All Might, seeing the chance to track the villains to their source, thanked the kids and told them to take it easy, as he and the other pro heroes would be taking things from here.

There was then a bit of a panic in the news when it was reported that Muscular and Moonfish not only were taken from holding (and before any info could be gotten out of them; hell, neither had even woken up yet) but also the body of the slain U.A. student was taken from the morgue that he had been sent to. The heroes immediately pinned the blame for both incidents on the villains who had attacked the training camp, and it was a story everyone who heard it believed.

...In actuality, the two villains and the body of Mineta were taken under the cover of night by Ainz's forces, without ever leaving any evidence of who it was that took the persons, living and dead. In Nazarick, Ainz offered Muscular (who already had his quirk taken) to the first of his loyal NPCs who wanted to have fun. Muscular had ended up becoming a meal for Solution of the Pleiades combat maids, making Aura jealous she failed yet again to use her preferred method of torture on a human form the second New World.

As for Moonfish (who also had his quirk taken), Ainz had him tied to a post in the arena on the seventh floor, then Ainz lobbed as many attack spells at him until Moonfish was literally nothing more than a smear on the ground, not enough to even raise from the dead. Mineta, however, was put to rest on the fifth floor, the domain of Cocytus.

Mineta was sat up in a sitting kneeling position, his head bowed, and hands on his lap. He was then frozen in a hunk of ice by a pair of Frost Virgins while under Cocytus's supervision. "Despite being only a human," Cocytus began as he looked at Mineta's body preserved in ice, "You had earned a measure of respect from Lord Ainz." Cocytus stood up straight, released a blast of cold air from his mouth, as if letting off an impressed huff.

"...Minoru Mineta," Cocytus went on, "Similar to Brain Unglaus, yours is a name I shall never forget."

...

Despite how all of the students at the training camp (aside from Mineta) got off from the attack relatively scot free, they all still had to go to a hospital in the city. Ainz, back to looking like Izuku Midoriya, had figured that it was simple procedure. The students all got checked and cleared, although Ainz drew a bit of attention from the nurse examining him when she thought that he was biologically dead as her stethoscope picked up not even one heartbeat from him.

Given that he's undead, that failed to surprise Ainz in the least. He simply used magic to make the nurse pass him and also alter her memories to make her think he was perfectly fine. After he got off of that bit, Ainz when he went to greet his peers was pulled aside by a group consisting of Sero, Kaminari, Kirishima, Yaoyorozu, and surprisingly Bakugo. To Ainz's surprise, his classmates wanted to try to rescue Todoroki from the villains themselves.

"I made an extra tracking device to let us track down where that nomu went off to," Yaoyorozu said as she held up the tracking device, "We can track the nomu down, meaning we can track down the League of Villains and save Todoroki."

Arching a wry eyebrow, Ainz said, "You all want to take such a risk?"

"Yeah, I mean it's hella un-manly to let Todoroki remain in the grip of the villains," Kirishima replied.

Shrugging, Kaminari said, "Although admittedly, a lot of our plan hinges on you agreeing to join us. We're totally going to need your power for this, Midoriya." The others, even Bakugo, admitted that they were more or less counting on Ainz agreeing to join them for their plan to have any success.

Seeing this, Ainz was able to subtly cast a suggestion spell that allowed him to make all of his peers before him drop the idea and swear to not go after the villains who took Todoroki. Aside from all of the rule breaking that will come of it (Ainz doesn't want that on Izuku's record), these villains had all proven too much for the students of U.A.'s first year hero course to handle.

...But it'll be mere child's play for the forces and cunning of the Great Tomb of Nazarick to make the League of Villains bend knee and bow head to them.

END, CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Author's notes;

The attack by Dabi's forces on the summer break training camp ends with them getting away with both Todoroki and Ragdoll, although Mineta being killed pisses Dabi off as it'll shorten the time limit he and his fellows are working with. They also have to leave behind Muscular and Moonfish, who are later taken to Nazarick to die, whereas Mineta's body is taken there as well but to be put to rest with respect.

Thanks to Ainz, all surviving students are in peak form and require no treatment, although they have to be checked anyway at the hospital due to procedure. Ainz is later met by a group of his fellows in Class 1-A as they wanna try to get him in on a plan to secretly rescue Todoroki from the League of Villains, but Ainz subtly uses magic to make all of them decide against the (illegal) rescue mission.

Besides which, Ainz will be taking care of things himself, although he is going to be careful to make it look like the pro heroes did everything. Things will continue from here later.
