Hand in hand they both started their way outside to look for their friends. As Lhindril thought they found them pretty soon at the breakfast table and were enjoying themselves very much. And for the first time in forever she felt like joining them and having fun as well

"There you are finally!" Pippin cried and lifted his jug.

"Good to see you here" Gimli agreed "And good to see you're still among the living" with a grin, they sat down beside Kíli, who instantly hit his brother's shoulder what Fíli retaliated with a hit to his hip. And Lhindril just was so happy that her world was alright again and almost back to normal.

"What in Durin's name are you even wearing and where did you get it?" Kíli then asked, taking a good look at Fíli's tunic.

"It's the one I wore on the quest to Erebor"

"Right now that you mention it. I almost didn't recognize it anymore"

"My dear friends" Aragorn spoke "I'm happy that we're finally complete again" with a smile, she leant back against Fíli and he took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze while wrapping an arm around her. "And I also want to say that I managed to postpone my coronation a few days instead of having it today so that my brother-in-law and my sister can attend too and won't be in too much pain" somehow, she was surprised that the coronation would be so soon. Somwhow she guessed it would take them at least some weeks or even months. Or maybe she was just surprised because this had been the case for them and it took Erebor almost half a year to officially crown their new king.

"By my beard..." Kíli started but then got interrupted by Gimli

"Which you don't have"

-oOo-

The following days everyone was really busy and sometimes even stressed because so much had to be prepared for the ceremony and the feast. It seemed like almost no one noticed how nervous Aragorn was and that a part of him also was worried. One time when she talked to him she found out that it was reigning the country that worried him. And that he didn't quite like the fact that everyone was prancing around him and needed to get something done or clarified for the ceremony and that he was wanted everywhere and feared that would never stop. With a smile she only told him that it had been almost the same for her before the coronation but that afterwards and once everything had settled it got a lot better. Just before she left, he asked what she wanted to wear for the coronation, making her reply she only really had the things that she took with her to the journey and therefore was wearing these and considered to have them washed. But he shook his head and then almost more or less pulled her to the dressmaker's so that she could get a new dress. At first the whole thing was a bit embarrassing for her. Not that she didn't like dresses, in contrary but she just didn't like the fact that they made an dress extra for her and in that short time. They surely had a lot other things to do. But her feelings got more positive once Fíli and Kíli entered he room too and told her that Aragorn had forced them to get new clothes as well. When they left the tailor shop the workers assured them that htey could get the clothings on the evening before the coronation and once again she felt a bit bad about it, hoping they wouldn't work too much these days because surely they weren't the only ones needing new clothes. Or that they would make their clothes first and so neglect someone else's orders just because she happened to be the new king's sister.

On the day before the coronation everyone seemed to notice that her brother was nervous and so Lhindril tried her best that he had to day to himself and didn't get interrupted and bothered evey few minutes and could instead use the time to try and relax and collect himself. So she spent the day doing things in his name or for him, like planning the last details, helping arriving guests and watch the preparations in general. It was a lot of work but she didn't mind if it helped her brother who would have needed to do it otherwise. After all she still remembered how decades ago, she was way too nervous before her own celebrations. Though that may have had to do with the fact that for her it also meant she was about to get married. And luckily all Dwarves of the company helped them getting ready as did Fíli's mother. One group took care of planning and preparing the coronation and the others were responsible for the wedding.

In the evening she was really tired because organising everything the whole day had been a lot and everything just went so hastily and there was much to do. In the end she almost forgot to pick up her dress and only remembered it when Fíli reminded her and so ran to the tailor's shop before dinner so that she could try on the dress and take it home. She loved it from the first meant she saw it, especially the blue, which got brighter towards the ground. The sleeves were the opposite and grew darker towards the end. Happily thanking the workers, she wanted to pay but got told that her brother had already taken care of it. Still she gave them each a few coins and thanked them again. Then she changed back into her own clothes and wanted to get her dress to the room before going to dinner. Outside she met her husband who looked at her in disappointment.

"You didn't even put on your dress"

"I could say the same" she replied and walked past him to get to their room.

"Will you at least show me?" he asked, hurrying after her

"You'll be seeing it tomorrow" that seemed to do the trick but after she had put the dress down on the bed and wanted to leave, Fíli blocked her way out of the door. "Oh very funny" she muttered and searched for the best way to get out and finally decided to slip through between his legs. She got on all fours and tried to crawl out but there was one thing she hadn't reckoned with; Fíli sat down on her.

"Now I could force you to put on the new dress" he remarked and she only replied that right now wasn't the best idea for fooling around because dinner was ready. At least he gave in with a sigh and helped her up, walking to the dining hall arm in arm, of course arriving as some of the last. To her surprise, Gandalf was here too and he explained that the past days he had other things to take care of and was gone because of that. She was quite glad to hear this because otherwise it would have meant he just never came to visit Fíli in the healing halls.

After dinner they returned to their bedroom and again Fíli tried to convince her to put on the dress to show him. Each time she told him that he would see it very soon anyways. It seemed like he sometimes didn't realise that she could be just as stubborn as him, if not more. But maybe he thought that being a Dwarf, he had to be more stubborn. Suddenly, however, the dress seemed to be forgotten and he had other things on his mind. At least she thought he had another reason to just grab her and starting to kiss her passionately and tried to take off her shirt. Once he managed that, he lifted her up, placing her down on the bed without ending the kiss. She started tying open his shirt and was almost done where there was a knock at the door. With a growl he let go of her.

"What?" he barked into the direction of the door and for the visitor's sake she hoped this was important.

"I'm sorry to bother you at that hour" she recognized Aragorn's voice "but I wanted to talk to you for a minute, Fíli" scowling, he got up and wanted to open the door

"Wait" she called "Your shirt" in confusion he looked down at himself and saw that his shirt was already open almost completely and let out a sigh

"Damnit, closing that takes ages and makes no sense"

"Just put on your coat over it" she suggested and with a nod he did it

"I'll be back as soon as I can. I'm sorry" she only nodded, he pecked her forehead before leaving the room. She pulled up her legs and lent her chin on the knees. To her relief it only was a short time until her husband returned.

"And? What did he want?" she asked while he closed the door and took the coat off again "Why don't you take the chair and barricade the door? Then no one can enter anymore" she suggested.

"Good idea. He asked if I would coronate him tomorrow"

"Oh that sounds amazing, really. Congratulations" he made an undefinable sound and leant the chair against the door before returning to the bed. She grabbed him to kiss him and dug her fingers into his hair.

"If someone dares to disturb us now, he'll be a head shorter"

-oOo-

Early in the following morning they had to leave the bed to get ready for the festivity. If Fíli had had his way, they would have stayed in bed another couple of hours. But she knew it would take them both a while to get ready. The problem was, that Fíli didn't think of letting her go and even pulled her closer to his chest when she tried to move.

"Come on, let me go. You know we have to get up, there's no sense in this"

"There is for me" she waited another minute to give him time but of course he didn't budge

"Well, if you don't let me go, I can't put on the new dress you wanted to see so badly" he let out a groan but didn't move and she wasn't sure if he only pretended to be tired or really was.

"Stay with me for a while and I'll help you with your hair, deal?" he murmured and wrapped a leg over hers. Closing her eyes she let out a sigh.

"If I have to…" it wasn't long until there was a knock at the door. This time it was Kíli who obviously would have just entered the room if the chair wasn't barricading the door. It seemed like he didn't like that because he started cursing and rattling at the door.

"Good idea to use the chair" her husband chuckled but at least seemed to realise that their peace was gone as long as Kíli was here which would be until he got what he wanted. "Stop that, you moron. We're coming" he let go of her and then sat up shortly after her. She started to get ready and by the time he had gotten up and was washing himself, she already got dressed. Of course she noticed his glance on him but he waited until she was done before coming over and wrapping his arms around her "Looks very pretty" he admitted with a smile and she only gave him a nudge.

"Get dressed too. I want to see what you got"

"It's nothing compared to yours"

"So you don't plan on getting dressed at all? Some days ago you didn't even want to walk through the place with no shirt and today you plan to go out there naked and that even in front of that…"

"Alright, alright I got it. I'll get dressed" he interrupted her, making her smile.

"Good. In the meantime I'll comb my hair so you can braid it later" he gave a nod and she sat down on the bed to do as she said while he got ready. Just like him she couldn't help but watch a little "What did you mean it's nothing? It looks very nice" she said, getting up and letting her hand glide over the blue silk of the shirt. He took her hand, pressing a kiss to it

"Come on, sit down again so I can help you" he led her to the bed and sat them both down, instantly taking a strand between his fingers, starting to braid it. Then he made another braid on the other side, tying them to her back. He got up to look at her but decided he didn't like it and opened the hair again. That time he made two bigger braids but in the end didn't like that either and just tied her hair back loosely and then braided the end at the back of her head.

"Got it?" she asked with a grin "Admit it, you knew what you wanted to do from the beginning and just wanted to play with my hair"

"Well maybe. But I really wanted to try something out. And your hair is quite fascinating." She laughed

"You could have done this another time. What if we're too late now?" he only shook his head and led her out of the room. Outside there were so many people around and of course had the same destination as them. And it seemed like most were in a hurry even, maybe they wanted to find a good spot before everyone was there too. Once they arrived she noticed that there really weren't that many good spots anymore but their problem was that they needed to get through the front and had do make their way through the people. She started to look out for her friends, especially Kíli who promised to meet them at the front. But he wasn't there yet and instead Fíli left her to find Aragorn in the throne room. He pressed a kiss to her hand and then left. Shortly after she noticed Kíli next to her, whose clothing was the same as his brothers but his shirt was silver. Of course the tailors made them similar clothing.

"Do you know where Fíli is? I just checked your room to see where you two are at but you weren't there. And he isn't with you either"

"Don't worry. I know where he is" she started to grin. Of course Kíli wanted to know where he was but she found she didn't have to tell him and let him be surprised, and probably shocked too.

"Oh he's going to be late. I just know it" he muttered but she shook her head. Then the big door of the throne room opened and Aragorn stepped outside, followed by Gandalf who was carrying a velvet pillow with the crown and her husband "What in Durin's name is he doing there?"

"You'll see" her grin was still there.

"Please tell me he's not drunk or something" her brother-in-law begged and she only shook her head, with her smile growing bigger. Slowly, Fíli stepped to Gandalf and carefully took the crown from the pillow before stepping in front of Aragorn, who had knelt down in the meantime. Now Kíli seemed to realise what his brother was doing there and what was going on. Lhindril on the other hand had to bite back her laughter because she saw that despite kneeling, Aragorn still was almost taller than her husband.

"By the power vested in me by my kingly duties, I now crown you, Aragorn, son of Arathron as High King of Gondor and Arnor" while he spoke, he slowly sat the crown down on the man's head. "We greet you, king Elessar" with this words he went to his knees as did every one else but Aragorn got back to his feet. After a short while he nodded at her husband, then her and Kíli before he allowed them to rise again. Fíli walked down the small stairs and joined Lhindril, making her take his hand almost immediately. Kíli seemed to be quite proud of his brother and also told him.

"What you said was beautiful"

"Oh you're getting sappy" she chuckled "But I can only agree" since Aragorn started talking, Fíli didn't reply but gave her a smile, pulling her a little closer. Her brother announced that together they would rebuild the destroyed cities and after he finished he started singing. With a broader smile, Fíli turned to her.

"Well, I wasn't that embarrassing, was I?"

"It was worse. I hope you at least learned not to anger your brother before such an important event"

"Ah now it's my fault again? Kíli has detuned my fiddle. On purpose"

"I only did it because I was angry with you. How could I know you wouldn't tune it again before the coronation?" he defended himself "After all that's what each sensible person does. Or at least tune it right there and not start playing right away"

"I was nervous. But at least we got to eat a lot faster like this"

"Only after you disgraced yourself completely. After three squeaking tones you got all red and muttered what the meaning of this was. Only then you called them to the tales. I bet everyone noticed that you weren't as casual as you wanted to be"

"Alright, alright, I got it" he sighed "I embarrassed myself in front of my people, now can we please stop discussing this? Thank you" with his words she noticed that he was a bit offended so she nudged his side

"Now don't be angry with us. We both love you so much" she pecked his cheek before turning back to her brother who had finished singing and came down the stairs too, stopping in front of them. He placed a hand on each of the Dwarves' shoulders before turning to her. She stepped forward, hugging him tight "Do you have any idea how proud I am of you?"

"I can only imagine. But thank you. I still think you too would have been a just very good queen too"

"Thank you very much but I already have my kingdom. And I belong with Fíli" as if to stress her words, her husband wrapped an arm around her. Aragorn chuckled.

"Well, then I hope you two will take good care of my big sister" now Kíli laughed too

"Right, I always forget our Linnie is older"

"Your Linnie?"

"Well…" for cone Kíli seemed to be lost for words and wasn't sure what to say.

"It was a joke, no worries. I am aware she kind of belongs more with you than with me. But all that matters is that she's happy. As long as she comes and visit a few times" she rolled her eyes but agreed. After squeezing her shoulder a last time, Aragorn continued to walk past the people, until he reached Legolas and stopped again. He touched his shoulder too and then must have seen someone behind the Elf and Lhindril tried to have a look and smiled when she saw Elrond. But obviously her brother was more interested in a She-Elf behind him. She guessed that it was Arwen and suddenly noticed that she would not have recognised her otherwise and also didn't really remember her from her childhood in Rivendell anymore. She wondered if it was different for her brother but guessed that maybe he too only really met her later on when he was old enough to fall in love and everything. So she decided that she needed to talk to her, also because it was obvious she was going to be her sister-in-law. And she also wanted to introduce her to her husband and Kíli. Together with Arwen, her brother walked past the others and then stopped again in front of the Hobbits that just wanted to bow but he stopped them, going to his knees as did everyone else. After all he was right. The four of them had done so much for Middle Earth and probably saved it. And Bilbo too since he had been the one to find the ring, for otherwise it would have been in Sauron's hands for sure.

After the feast was over and people started to return home again, Aragorn wanted to speak to the two Dwarves while telling his sister that Elrond was waiting for her. He greeted her casually but she could see that something was bothering him but before she could even ask, he started explaining.

"On the way to Gondor we were attacked by Orcs. One of them carried a writing. It had been stolen and deemed lost for a long time" he paused and took out a piece of paper, she guessed it was the one he had mentioned. She was confused why he needed to talk to her about it. And only her. To her dismay, it was written in Elvish runes and therefore made it impossible for her to find out what was written there. Before she could tell him, Elrond continued "It's a prophecy"

"A prophecy? And what does it have to do with me? I mean obviously it does or you wouldn't have called me here." for a while she was scared that something would happen to her family.

"I think it is best if you hear it for yourself"

"Is it something bad?" she asked and there was an unidentifiable expression on his face and seemed to be considering what to say but then just started translating the text.

"A man of royal blood and king himself, from a late mother fair and wise.

A woman of royal blood and queen herself, from a late father mighty and brave.

Drawn towards Dwarves she shall be, wed to the mightiest of all Dwarf Lords.

Isildur's heir and Durin's heir united with old Elven blade and Dwarven blade.

Essential shall be her part for the destruction of the realms of Mordor and Gundabad.

But ere the end comes, she will have fallen"
