Abandoned Hospital (Night)

'So, this is the place.' Eraserhead said to himself as he looked up at the dilapidated building.

Over the last four weeks, strange things have been happening in Musutafu. Occasionally, a red blur would appear to confront a villain before leaving. The vigilante, possibly as a way to keep their identity hidden, had an incredibly inconsistent appearance. Sometimes, they'd appear tall, short, masculine, feminine, youthful, elderly, and everything in between. The only thing that remained constant was the fact that this person shrouded their face with smoke and had their voice altered.

Whoever this person was, their Quirk was...troublesome to say the least. From what the police were able to decipher, they had an ability that somehow allowed them to control fire and minerals at will. Even when faced with opponents with similar powers, be it hero or villain, the faceless vigilante always emerged victorious. Regardless of their motives, though, they had to be brought in.

That's why he was at the hospital. Every instance of this red blur appearing to battle a villain were the same distance away from the run-down structure. Plus, they always retreated towards it whenever they were done dealing with an opponent. And now that he was here, he knew for a fact that this is where the blur was hiding. When he crossed through the barbed wire fence, a wave of heat washed over him. The very same heat that the vigilante's flames gave off.

Shaking his head, he entered the building through the front door. As soon as he did, the doors shut behind him and the walls swallowed the entrance. He was trapped.

"Yararara!" a voice said from the darkness. "I must say, challenging your opponent on their own turf is rather courageous. Or is it foolish?" In a flash of red light, the crimson vigilante appeared behind the receptionist desk, their face shrouded in smoke. "Let's see which one you are." they said through a modulated voice.

With a snap of their fingers, the ground below the Erasure Hero transformed into sharp spikes. The man jumped up, then activated his Quirk, turning his eyes red. To his surprise, several fireballs appeared in front of him, forcing him to defend using his scarf. 'How did he still use his Quirk after I erased it?' the hero thought to himself, wondering how he'd survive a fight like this.

"Quick thinking." Under the mask, the vigilante smiled. "There's no use for a hero that breaks in the face of pressure. For this, I applaud you." Raising their arm, the vigilante called forth a swirling torrent of flames that bounced off the walls, ricocheting until they eventually struck Eraserhead.

But to the man's surprise, he felt nothing more than light bruising. 'It's like he's playing with me.' he thought to himself, watching as more flames were conjured into existence.

"Yararara! I can see you're confused by why my attack did less damage than it should've." the vigilante said, unable to keep still. "I can freely control how much of an impact my Quirk inflicts on other living things. If I couldn't, you'd be seeing a lot more burning corpses littering the streets."

"So, you admit to committing assault, then." Eraserhead said, still on his guard.

"Only as a result of self-defense." his opponent responded. "Given this world's rules, that's perfectly legal, right?"

'Wait, was that a legitimate question?' Eraserhead wondered. The tone in the vigilante's voice, while difficult to tell with the modulation, sounded unsure. It was like they truly had no grasp on how the Quirk Self-Defense laws worked.

"Egh, never mind." the blur said, shaking their head. "Here's my next attack!" The floor exploded with volcanic energy, sending stone bullets flying everywhere. They did a bit more damage than the initial attacks, leaving Eraserhead more tired as he tried to dodge. "Please leave us alone. We have nothing to do with you."

'We?' the hero thought to himself. Was the vigilante trying to protect someone through their actions? As the fight got progressively more heated, pun intended, he could see the smoke mask flitting away.

"Yararara! It's been a while since someone's been able to push me this far!" the vigilante shouted, their voice becoming that of a young male. With another surge of heat, their mask completely fell apart, revealing the face of a teenager. "As a gift for being able to get me this fired up, I'll show you one of my best attacks! Atonement Blast!" Dominic, brimming with joy, raised his arm and channeled massive amounts of heat into it.

Eraserhead was not happy fighting a child, but the boy was still a criminal. No matter what reservations he had, he needed to win. Knowing he may not survive this kid's attack; he reared back and threw a punch.

"Mr. Xiao-Long, what are you doing?" Eri asked, walking downstairs. She was met with the bizarre scene of her caretaker, cloaked in flame, battling a black-haired man with yellow goggles and a long gray scarf. "What's going on?" When Dominic saw her, all of his attacks vanished at once.

"Sorry for waking you, Eri. But I'm kind of in the middle of something." the blonde said, apologetic. "Eraserhead, was it? I'll make you a deal. I'll surrender if Eri doesn't get in any trouble for my actions. She doesn't deserve that."

'What's with this boy?' the hero asked himself. 'One second he's fighting me, and the next he's asking to be taken in.'

"I'm sorry for the late introduction, signore." Dominic said with a bow. "My name is Xiao-Long Dominic. Remember the name."

Erasure

Eraserhead is able to cancel an opponent's Emitter or Enhancement Quirk through eye contact. For this reason, his medicine cabinet is almost exclusively filled with eye drops.
