Alyra

(A/N: This part in Italics is Alyra's dream. The bold & Italics is the voice that is speaking to Alyra.)

I was in a field with Sam. We were standing and facing each other. I tried to step forward, but I couldn't move.

You mustn't trust him.

I looked around, but I didn't see anyone.

"What are you?" I yelled.

Sam didn't even notice me.

It matters not. From today forward, you will have abilities. You will fight a dark army should the demon's plan come to fruition.

"I don't know who the hell you are, but I trust Sam! I also don't know what war you speak of, but you sound crazy! I won't fight in your war!" I got no answer.

I fought to move towards Sam.

Why do you move towards the enemy? He will awaken when he has begun his twenty-second season.

Something wasn't right. That language wasn't plain English.

"That does not matter! He isn't the enemy! He's my friend! I will not fight your war! You clearly have no understanding of humans, whatever you are!" I yelled.

Whatever was holding me back disappeared and I fell into Sam. I looked up at him. His eyes had turned black like a demon. An evil smirk appeared on his face and he held me up by my throat.

Do you still believe that he is not thy enemy?

Whatever this was had a twisted sense of humanity. I smiled. I reached my hand out and placed it on his face.

"This is not you. This is what they see. You are more than this! I could become this. Any human is capable of this! I would never hurt anyone, not while in control and even if I wasn't I would fight! Just as you fight not to hurt me! Fight it Sam. You are stronger than what is inside of you! You are stronger than what this thing who is holding us here wants you to be! We are people who fight to protect those we love! To protect the people who don't know about the supernatural! We protect everyone! This thing is wrong! You will never be the enemy, just as I will never fight you because we choose our own fates!" I yelled.

A bright white light started glowing from my chest. Sam's eyes went back to normal. He instantly let me go.

"Alyra! Where are we? What happened?" The light grew brighter.

"Nothing Sam. It is a dream. Wake up." He vanished.

I stood up. The glowing didn't stop. Then I saw a golden orb float down in front of me.

I didn't expect that result. Why save him?

I frowned.

"I don't know what you are. I know you won't tell me, but humans are resilient. Whatever you are, you only see things in black and white. We humans are more complicated than that. Someone may hurt us, and yet we still love them. We may leave so they can't hurt us again, but that doesn't mean we don't think about them. That the part of us that cares just stops. Whatever is going to happen to Sam, seeing as how that was not the real one, will happen. However, I will be there to help stop it. To change it. That is what hunters do. We kill the things that go bump in the night to keep everyone else safe. That means that if the hunters we do know go down a path and need a little help to get back on the right track we will be there. We may be spread far and wide, but we're family. We may not win, but we will die trying." The golden orb in front of me was silent.

The light coming from my chest was concerning me.

You humans are different from my kind. You answered some of my questions, but left me with many more. I do not have much time left. I shall tell you of your gifts before time runs out. A month after you were born, I had a vision of sorts. Something would begin building an army. I was unsure of who, so I found you the night of the vision. I fed you some of my "powers" as you humans call them. You will find out what it actually is in the future. For now all I can tell you what your abilities are. You have the ability to heal any wound. The second ability is what makes you slightly stronger than the average human female. However it seems you have tapped into that power already. That was not expected. There is one more ability that will come to you, however it isn't time yet. Use the powers you have now wisely, daughter of Bobby Singer. Many dangers await you.

Everything turned black.

I woke up to my phone ringing. I was sweating and my clothes were sticking to me. I placed my hand on my throat. I felt sick. I ran to the bathroom and threw up. I flushed the toilet and looked in the dingy motel mirror. The bruises were real. They were sensitive to the touch. My phone started ringing. I rushed and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Alyra? It's Sam. Are you okay? I woke up and felt the need to call and make sure you were okay. Are you okay?" He was real.

That was really Sam in that weird dream.

"I'm, I'm fine. It was just a rough hunt. How's school going? How's Jess?" I felt a terrible feeling in my gut for lying to him.

"We're great! I'm actually ahead in my classes. Jess misses you. She loved hanging out with you after we all met those first six months." I smiled.

"So did I Sam. I'll clear up my schedule so I can come see you both in a month! We will get together to celebrate!" I heard his groan and heard Jess's laughter in the background.

"Yes! That's my girl!" I heard faintly.

I giggled.

"No surprise's please Alyra." Sam asked.

"No promises! I'm going to get you something! It's been 4 years since we met. I'm getting you something! You can't stop me!" Jess giggled again.

"By Sam. Call me Lyra! We'll plan the party together!" The door shut and Sam groaned.

"It's not that bad Sam. She loves you. So do I. You're like a brother to me. Let us do this for you. Please?" It was his turn to laugh.

"I can just see the puppy dog eyes! You and Jess are going to be the end of me. Okay, you two win!" I jumped up and down with joy!

"Okay! See you for your birthday Sam! Love ya! Bye!" I smiled.

"Bye sis! Stay out of trouble." I scoffed.

"Hey, that was one time! One! How was I supposed to know he was a professor! It wasn't my fault! Whatever! Bye!" I didn't give him the chance to respond.

I hung up and tossed my phone on the bed. I needed to get to Bobby's. I needed to tell him that I was in fact his daughter. I had a little under a month to find out what that thing meant. I just hoped it wasn't serious.

Time skip brought to you by Dean putting Itch Powder in Sam's underwear! Haha, take that Sammy.

Sam

(Again dream is in italics)

I had just walked in the door to the place I shared with Jess.

"Hey babe? You home?" No reply.

"Jess?" Still no response.

She must be out. I layed on our bed and closed my eyes. I felt something wet drip on my forehead. I wiped it away and saw it was blood. Then I looked up and saw Jess on the ceiling.

"Jess! No!" I yelled.

She burst into flames.

"Sam!" She yelled.

•••

I shot up and my head collided with someone else's.

"Ow, ow, ow! Damn. That hurts." I opened my eyes.

I saw Alyra. I sighed in relief. I looked down.

It was a dream, Sam. Just a dream.

"Sam?" I looked up.

Alyra was worried. Rightfully so. That dream felt so real. My face must've given something away.

"What is it?" I shook my head and gave her a smile.

"It was just a bad dream. It was nothing." She looked doubtful.

"I know you won't tell me what it's about, but just remember. Once is fine, but in the line of work you used to be in. Anything more than once is cause for concern. Okay?" She looked worried.

I nodded my head. She walked away from my bed. She paused and looked back at me. She looked scared.

"Whatever you saw, no matter how bad, please don't keep it a secret from me for long. Please Sam." She left and closed the door behind her.

I sighed and fell back on my bed. It was right above this bed that I saw Jess dead. I wasn't a hunter anymore, but Alyra was right. If I had the dream again I would tell her. I may have gotten out, but I killed a lot of monsters before I got out of that life. I got up and got dressed, pushing away the dream to go celebrate my birthday with the two most important people to me right now.

Alyra -Two Hours Later

"Come on Alyra! Where are we going?" Sam asked me for the tenth time since we got in the car.

"Oh hush Sam. Jess and I put a lot of time into this. Just be quiet! We have like five minutes till we arrive. Do not remove that blindfold! I have duck tape. I will stop this car and get it from the trunk." We pulled into the parking lot and I waved at Jess.

We had decided on a small party, but did it outside. We decorated with his favorite colors and had a cake. There was a DJ and a gift table. Next to the gift table was a stand that held a painting. It had taken me two weeks to finish and find a frame for it. It was a painting of them at the beach where they met with the date they met. It was taken with my phone, but I wanted them to have it just not as a digital photo. I stepped out and ran to Sam's side. I opened the door.

"Are we here?" I laughed.

"Yes Sam. We are. Keep the blindfold on!" I took his hands and helped him stand.

I shut the door and led him towards Jess. She was excited about this. So was I. Sam hadn't had a proper birthday ever with his dad. So when Jess and I met, his birthdays changed.

"Step up Sam." He did as I instructed.

As he stepped up a chill ran down my spine. I kept my smile on my face, but I knew someone was watching us. We stopped in front of everyone. Jess walked up.

"Okay Sam. I'll take it off, keep your eyes closed." I took off his blindfold.

Jess jumped on him and everyone yelled surprise at him. I smiled as he looked at me.

"Happy Birthday Sam." My phone dinged.

He was swarmed by people and I glanced around the lot. I saw someone dash behind the boat.

"I'll be back. A friend of mine is parked over there on the other side of the boat with my other present. I'll be back Sam." I quickly turned and dashed for the boat.

As I got to the other side I pulled out my gun from under my coat and pointed it at the man who had his back to me.

"Who the hell are you? What do you want with me or Sam Winchester?" The man placed his hands up.

Then he chuckled and quickly spun around. I gasped. It was Dean. Dean Winchester was in front of me. I highly doubted he would've showed up for his brother's birthday.

"Are you crazy? I could've killed you! You know better than to try to sneak up on me! I felt you the instant I helped Sam out of the car," I placed my gun in the back of my pants again, "why are you here? You never come for his birthdays."

He frowned at me.

"That's not my fault. I was in town and got him a gift." He pulled a box out of his pocket and shoved it in my hands.

I opened the box. It was a wood handled pocket knife. I closed the box. I looked up at Dean. He was antsy.

"He'll love it Dean. I'll make sure he gets it." I gave him a smile.

His green eyes lit up as he smiled. My breath caught in my throat. That damn smile would be the death of me. I stepped back.

"You should go. I'll make sure he gets this. I'll let him know it's from you." Dean nodded his head.

"How is he?" I patted his chest.

"He's doing really good. He's happy, Dean. Jess makes him happy." Dean looked sad for a moment.

Then a smirk appeared on his face.

"That's my Sammy. Well I'll get out of your hair. Stay safe Alyra." He turned away.

"Dean?" I grabbed onto his arm.

He didn't move to look back at me. I knew he was hurting, but I wasn't going to push him. I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around his torso. I could feel the six pack through his shirt. I suddenly felt really hot.

"If you need me, call me okay?" I tightened my grip and then let go.

I quickly turned away so my back was facing him. I took a deep breath to settle my nerves. I took a step forward and Dean grabbed my arm. I felt the heat from his chest against my back. I bit the inside of my cheek. I felt him lean down. He placed his mouth right next to my ear.

"You do the same, okay?" His breath grazed my ear.

A chill went up my spine. I couldn't speak. I couldn't move. I took another deep breath.

"Okay." I managed to keep my voice steady.

Dean didn't move. I bit my lip. I closed my eyes.

"See you around, Alyra." My breath hitched in my throat.

Dean didn't pull away. He froze behind me. I stepped forward. Then his arm was around my waist. His lips grazed my ear.

"Alyra, are you attracted to me?" My breath hitched.

I made a sound I've never heard myself make before. I whined. I whined at Dean Winchester. I felt my cheeks flush and I tried to pull away.

"No." My voice cracked at the end of that answer.

Dean didn't say anything. He pulled me closer against him and he bit down on my ear. I moaned. Dean chuckled. My phone dinged. I quickly pulled away. I pulled my phone out. It was Sam.

Sam

Hey Alyra, everything okay?

Me

Yup everything is fine.

I'll be there shortly. Just

saying goodbye.

Sam

Okay.

I sighed and put my phone away. I looked at Dean. He was smirking at me. I sighed.

"I'll see you later Dean. Sam's wondering where I am. Stay safe okay?" I turned away.

"Yeah. You to Alyra." I closed my eyes.

I took deep breaths until I felt the heat leave my face. I went back to the party.

Sam

When Alyra came back she was holding a black box. She also looked a little distracted. She would be fine one moment and then her face would turn red. When she came back Alyra and Jess put the candles in the cake. People sang happy birthday and we ate cake. Alyra was acting strange after she came back with the black box. When it finally came time for the gift that was next to the table Jess got everyone's attention. Alyra stepped up next to the covered present.

"So when Sam and Jess met I was super happy. That first year during summer break, I was able to get a photo of them at the beach. At that moment I knew they were perfect for each other. So I took a picture of that moment. Sam, for your birthday, I painted that picture," she took the cover off, "this was a moment that I didn't want either of you to forget. The moment I knew no matter what happened you two would always be together. Happy birthday Sam." She smiled at me.

I looked at Jess and saw tears. She ran to Alyra and hugged her. The painting was beautiful. It captured our smiles and the beautiful background from that day perfectly. I smiled at Alyra.

"Thank you." I mouthed.

She nodded her head and I picked up the black box she had set down. I opened it and found an expensive looking pocket knife with a wooden handle. I looked up at Alyra. She met my gaze. I held up the present. Alyra's cheeks turned red.

"Dean." She mouthed.

It all made sense now. Alyra would've had all my presents ahead of time. I looked down at the pocket knife.

"Alyra? Why are your cheeks so red? Ooh, is there a guy you're interested in? Tell me!" I glanced at Alyra.

Her cheeks were flushed. She put her hands up and shook her head.

"T-there's no guy. He's an ass anyway. I wouldn't get together with him. His job doesn't allow him to settle down." She tried to back away from Jess.

"Sam! Come help me. Alyra, I want a name. You're not going anywhere until I get what I want." Alyra clammed up.

"No. I swear! He's not my guy! He doesn't even like me. He just sees me as an annoying little kid! He's not important!" Her face was red.

"Come on Alyra. She won't stop until you tell her." She glanced at me.

Her face was priceless. She was blushing and trying to hide behind mine and Jess's friends. I started laughing.

"This isn't funny Sam!" She yelled at me.

"Oh yes it is Alyra. Now tell me." She bit her lip.

"Fine. Fine. His name is uh Damon." I laughed even harder.

"You're a bad liar little sis!" Jess tackled her to the ground.

Alyra winced as she hit the ground. Then when Jess sat on her I heard her gasp. Jess began tickling her. Alyra was laughing, but it was painful.

"Okay! His name is Emmanuel!" Jess ceased her antics.

Alyra's face isn't red anymore, but she seemed to be in pain.

"Ha! I win! Now was that so hard?" Jess asked.

Alyra shook her head and smiled. Jess got off of Alyra. Alyra stood up and kept her back away from the group of people. She pulled her shirt down. She came walking over to me with Jess. I hugged Jess.

"Thank you both for doing this. I'm glad I got to celebrate my birthday with the two most important people in my life." Alyra smiled again.

"Aw, you're welcome Sam. I love you, baby." Jess kissed me.

Cheers erupted and it was my turn to blush. I smiled at everyone. Jess left to go mingle. Alyra came up to me. She smiled at me.

"I'm glad we got to do this together today. Happy birthday Sam." She hugged me.

I hugged back. As my hands landed on her lower back, I felt her gun. I heard her hiss. She pulled away still smiling.

"Are you okay?" She nodded her head.

"I should probably head out. I need to go take a hot shower. Take care of it. I'll come see you guys before I leave town." Her smile was gone.

She was gritting her teeth. I nodded my head.

"You stay safe. Go rest up and put some ice and heat on your back. You probably have a nasty bruise." She scoffed at me.

"Of course, genius." She smirked.

I laughed and Jess came back.

"Alyra? Are you leaving already?" Alyra looked guilty for a split second.

She covered it up with a smile.

"I'm not leaving town, but I have paperwork to get turned in tonight. Y'know how it is," she hugged Jess, "I won't leave without saying goodbye. I'll probably stay in town for a few more days." Jess pulled away and returned Alyra's smile.

"You better. I miss having you around. It's been nice to see you. I love you sis." Alyra poked Jess's nose.

"I love you too. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Have fun tonight okay," she turned to me, "you better have lots of fun with her Sam. Let loose tonight. Have fun, okay?" I smiled at her.

Her and Jess were giving me puppy dog eyes.

"Fine. Okay. I'll make sure to enjoy tonight." Jess laughed.

Alyra and Jess high fived each other. Alyra went and got into her car. I wrapped an arm around Jess and we waved her off.

"Come on, Sam! Let's dance!" Jess tugged on my arm as music started playing.

"Okay, okay!" I followed her to the small group of our friends who were already dancing.

I felt happy. I hoped it would last forever at that moment.
