A/N- Okay this is the last time-skip. It's just so hard to fill in six months for me. I am skipping to when Dean comes around to get Sam's help to find John. I didn't feel like filling in 6 months worth of odds and ends. So happy reading.

Alyra
Sam had called me a few days before Halloween about his dreams. He said that they had become more frequent. That concerned me. I didn't question him, I quickly packed up and arrived on Halloween day. I pulled out my phone after I arrived at the address Sam gave me. I dialed Sam. He didn't answer. Then I called Jess. She answered.
"Alyra! It's so nice to hear from you! What's up sis?" I smiled.
It was nice to hear her voice.
"Hey Jess! Sam didn't tell you? He invited me to come see you guys! Maybe he wanted it to be a surprise?" I hated lying to her.
Sam had shared with me that Jess was always in danger in the dreams he was having. He said the dreams were coming more frequently. Every time he fell asleep.
"That sounds like Sam. None of us are home right now. I'm about to go to class and Sam is taking his last test." I gasped.
"What? He never told me he was that close to graduating! I know he doesn't celebrate Halloween, but I'll put together something tonight. You would think he would know not to keep these things quiet from me. It never ends well." Jess laughed on the other end of the line.
"I feel you, sis. He learned real fast with me, but still thinks he can get away with it probably because you work out of state." I sighed.
"He will never learn, was his 22nd birthday not proof enough that you and I are two peas in a pod when it comes to things like this? He will never learn will he?" Jess was dying on the other end.
"He'll learn eventually. He's just not used to it." I frowned.
"I know, but that's what we are here for," I heard a bell over the phone, "I'll let you go Jess. See you after classes!"
"See you later, sis." She hung up.
I placed my phone in my pocket and started up my bike. Time to go get a cake to celebrate.

Sam
After I got out of testing I saw a missed call from Alyra. Then a text from Jess.
Jess
You didn't tell Alyra you were
graduating early? Well she
knows now. I love you!
I groaned. Well damn. I'm an idiot. They talk to each other, even if Alyra is coming for Jess's protection. I knew this would happen. I'm an idiot. Then I heard a bike. I looked down the stairs and saw Alyra leaning against her bike. She was smiling at me. I shook my head and made my way down the stairs.
"Hi, Alyra." She crossed her arms.
"Hello, Sam. So when were you going to tell me?" She wasn't actually angry.
She was smirking at me. I sighed.
"Yes, I know. I'm an idiot for thinking I could tell Jess without you finding out. I should know that by now." She laughed.
"That's right. I love your girlfriend like she's my sister. She and I are thick as thieves when it comes to you. You're my best friend. You're supposed to tell Jess and I stuff like this so we can celebrate properly!" She was still smirking at me.
"You already put something together on such short notice didn't you?" She started laughing.
"Damn right I did! Smart move telling Jess you already told me to keep me from celebrating it, but in the end your plan failed. As they always will. You can't hide shit from me for long, Winchester." I sighed in defeat.
"You're right. I'm sorry. So what did you do this time?" She frowned at me.
"Oh come on Sam. I know the dreams are haunting you, but we don't know when it will happen. That's why I'm here. To protect Jess. Take this time and celebrate this. I know you're worried and scared. You got out of hunting, but for now just enjoy this time you have. I'll be here in case anything bad happens, okay? That's why I'm here, but you need to just be happy okay? You told me about it, and I'll be here to protect her the best I can. I don't know what you're seeing, but you asked for help. You told me. So just be happy and let me do what you brought me here for, okay?" She was serious.
She was also worried. I originally hadn't intended to tell anyone, but when it came to Alyra I knew I could trust her. She had done so much for me. I was so grateful for everything she had done for me.
"Okay. So what did you get for tonight?" She smiled at me.
"I didn't go overboard, but I still got you a cake and a present. I also picked up Jess's gift." I smiled at her.
"I don't know what I'd do without you two or where I'd be. Thanks Alyra." She hopped on her bike.
"C'mon, Mr. I graduated early and didn't tell my best friend. We are meeting Jess at the bar. She has the cake and presents. Hop on." She held a helmet out to me.
I put it on and climbed on behind her.
"Just make sure you lean when I lean, okay?" I laughed.
She put up the kickstand, but didn't move.
"Alyra?" She turned her head around.
"Arms Sam. Gotta put your arms around my stomach." I did as I instructed.
"Hold on tight." She pulled out into traffic and off towards the bar for the Halloween party.

We arrived at the bar and Alyra's phone rang. I stepped off the bike. I handed her the helmet.
"Go on in. I gotta take this." She smiled at me.
I smiled back at her and went inside to find Jess.

Alyra
Once Sam was inside I answered my phone.
"Hello?" There was silence on the other end.
I sighed.
"Look I don't know who this is, but you better," I was cut off, "It's John. I need a favor from you Alyra."
I didn't care for John Winchester. Not after I saw how he treated his sons and y'know a bunch of innocent people died.
"I'll listen, but I'm not promising anything. What do you need John?" I wanted to just hang up.
I had a feeling I should hear him out though. He's still a hunter, not to mention was asking me for a favor. He'd owe me big time. Petty? Yes. Did I care? Nope, not when it came to John.
"I need you to start hunting with Sam and Dean." I scoffed.
"I think you just mean Dean. Sam's done hunting. He's happy John. I'm going to make sure he stays that way. So why do you want me to help them?" I wasn't going to deal with anything other than the truth.
"I want you to be there for my boys because right now they're in danger and if we all want to stay alive we all have to stay away from each other." I scoffed.
"So are you going to tell them that or are you just going to leave them wondering? They deserve the truth, John. They aren't little kids anymore. You've controlled everything in their lives. The least you could do is be honest. How much danger are they in?" He was silent.
"I can't tell you that." I was pissed.
"John Winchester! I don't know what the hell is going on, but you better tell me or I will tell the boys! You give me a damn good reason now!" I got a few weird stares.
I ignored them.
"Something is hunting me. It is watching the boys. It wants to use them to drag me out of hiding. It's not safe." I frowned.
If this tied into what Sam was dreaming about then it was already affecting them.
"John. This thing is already coming after them. It started when Sam turned 22. What is hunting you? What's after you?" I raised my voice.
"I won't tell you, just promise me you'll be there for them." I was angry.
"Why? Why me? I hate your guts so why would you ask this of me?" He sighed.
"You were right," my anger subsided, "I was a terrible father all those years. I pushed my agenda on my boys. You helped Sam get out of that life. The things you said during our first job when we met were right. You were right about me. You were there for them in a way I couldn't be. So I'm asking you to watch my boys because they're going to need someone. Someone who isn't afraid to put me in my place. You don't like me, but you never let that affect how you treated Sam and Dean."
I turned away from the bar as tears gathered in my eyes.
"It's that bad?" I don't like John, but I wasn't completely heartless.
"It's that bad. So will you do this for me? Please Alyra?" I could hear the tiredness in his voice.
John was a prideful man. For him to be reduced to having to ask a younger hunter for help, it scared me. I took a deep breath.
"I'll help them, John. You and I should meet up though. If there is something trying to use your boys to get to you, there's something you need to know. I found something out about 7 months ago that you need to be aware of. The sooner the better. Keep my number and message me when you get a new number. I mean it, John." I turned to the bar.
Sam was pushing the door open.
"Okay." His answer was enough.
"You'd be proud of Sam. He graduated early." I heard a gasp on the other end.
"Thank you, Alyra." I smiled.
"You got it John. We are hunters, we are family. I may hate your guts, but he's still your son. Stay safe John, you hear me?" I heard a chuckle on the other end.
"Make sure he celebrates." Sam stopped in front of me with a worried look on his face.
"I will. You take care. Stay safe, J." I hung up.
"Who was that?" I smiled at Sam.
"Sheriff up in Wisconsin. Had a Wendigo problem a couple years back. He was calling to tell me a Sheriff from another state was dealing with some strange things. Told him to give 'em my number. Everything is fine, now let's go celebrate!" I hooked my arm with his and headed towards the bar.
I had a bad feeling in my gut. What could want Sam to find his father so badly that it would kill Jess just to get what it wanted? I put it to the back of my mind. I would figure it out after we celebrated Sam.
Meanwhile
Dean
I placed the machete in the trunk and shut it. I threw the duffel in the back seat and climbed in the driver seat. I pulled my phone out to dial Dad. I got his voicemail.
"Dammit," I started Baby, "Sorry Sammy, I need your help."
I drove off for California. Sammy wouldn't be happy to see me, but he'd help me. Dad was missing. That was the worst thing for a hunter.
A Few Hours Later
Alyra
After celebrating we all went back to Sam and Jess's. We were watching a movie and Jess was already asleep snuggling up to Sam on the couch. I smiled and took a picture. Sam noticed and turned to look at me.
"You didn't." I covered my mouth to keep from laughing.
"I did. Now take your girl to bed. So I can use the couch." He sighed and looked at the mess on the table.
He looked down at Jess, then at me. I could see the exhaustion on his face.
"Go on, I got this Sam. Get her to bed." I waved my hands in a get going motion.
"Pushy." I giggled.
"Oh hush. Just move it, lover boy." His face turned red and he picked up Jess.
"Tomato." I joked as I laid a blanket over Jess.
"Brat." I stuck my tongue out.
"Just shush and go." I silently began cleaning up all the snacks and drinks.
It had been about an hour before I was content. I did the dishes and cleaned up as much as I could of the rug and hard floor. I sat down on the couch and covered up. It took another hour before I fell asleep.

I heard a thud. I shot up and dashed to the kitchen and grabbed the rolling pin. I came back out and saw a figure standing in the doorway of the living room. I rushed the figure and swung low with the rolling pin. (Sorry to you guys out there, this next part will probably hurt. Am I sorry? Nope.) They caught the pin. I hit them in the face with my right hand. They grunted and I took a step back and swung my right foot up right in between their legs. They groaned and started falling, pulling me with them. They didn't catch the rolling pin earlier. They caught my wrist. Crap. I dropped the rolling pin and flung my right hand towards them again. They were no longer falling to their knees, but backwards. I was falling with them. My forehead hit their chin as this person's head slammed on the floor. I sat up quickly as they let go of my wrist. My head hurt so bad. Tears were gathering in my eyes from the pain. I heard footsteps and then a light was turned on. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust. I looked up to find Sam and Jess at the bottom of the stairs. My head was still throbbing, but it was bearable now. Jess was panicked, but Sam looked irritated. The person below me groaned. I looked down. I was surprised. Dean Winchester was underneath me holding his face as blood trickled down his face. I felt embarrassed. My cheeks were definitely flushed red. I abruptly got off of him. He groaned and kinda curled into a ball.
"What the hell, Dean? Alyra? What happened to him?" I met Sam's gaze.
"I happened. I heard a noise, grabbed your rolling pin and kind of went to town. He's going to hurt for a while." That was a lie.
He wasn't hurt because of the rolling pin. He was hurting because I was stronger than the average human because of whatever gave me powers. Still didn't know what it was. Was still trying to find out. I glanced at Jess. She didn't look happy.
"Who is that? Do we need to call the cops?" Jess was worried.
"No. This is my idiot brother." Jess glanced at Dean as he started to try to stand up with the help of the couch.
"You mean the one who was your Dad's yes man." I stifled a laugh.
I got a glare from Dean as he grabbed tissues and held them to his nose.
"That's the one." I answered.
I glanced at Sam. He wasn't happy to see Dean.
"Why are you here Dean?" Sam asked.
"Just-give-me-a-minute!" I was dying inside.
"So why did you feel the need to break in and not just call ahead like a normal person?" I was going to rub it in.
"Oh shut up." He groaned.
"So what are we not going to do next time?" I stood with my hands on my hips.
I glanced up as Sam was talking with Jess. Jess wasn't happy. I didn't blame her. I'd be pissed too. I glanced back down as Dean was finally able to take the tissues away from his face. He was glaring at me.
"What are you doing here?" I smiled at him.
"Sam is graduating early. Why are you here, Mr. I got my ass beat by a girl?" He glared at me.
I heard footsteps retreat upstairs. I looked up and Sam was walking towards us. I stepped aside as Sam came to stand next to me.
"So why are you here, Dean?" Sam crossed his arms over his chest.
"Dads missing. He went on a hunt and hasn't been home in a couple of days." I froze.
Sam would leave and Jess would be alone. This was bad. Sam had told me that when he saw Jess die he was fully dressed as though he had just returned from being outside. I glanced at Sam.
"It's not the first time he's disappeared for a few days. He's fine Dean." Sam was upset.
I glanced at Dean. He hadn't moved, but he was serious.
"He went on a hunt, Sam. I haven't heard from him in a few days." I looked down at the floor.
Why would John call me, only to make his sons think something happened to him by not checking in? I know he said the situation was bad, but is it so bad to make them think he's in danger?
"Alyra?" My head snapped to Sam.
He looked worried.
"I'll stay here with Jess. You two go try to find your Dad. I'll keep her safe." Sam relaxed a bit.
"Why would she stay? We could use the extra help. If she can take a man down with nothing but her body, we should take her with us." I looked at Dean.
"I have a full weekend planned with Jess. So shut your mouth, Dean. When Sam comes back I have a job lined up. I think you two can handle this job." Dean narrowed his eyes and looked between the two of us.
"Sam, I never thought you'd be chumming it up with two hotties." I stepped up and bent over looking Dean in the eyes.
"I don't know what I ever saw in you. Or how I was ever attracted to you. You're an asshole. I see your brother as well, a brother. Watch yourself Dean. I won't hesitate to put you in your place, again." I left the boys to talk about whatever as I stepped outside.
My face felt heated. I leaned against the wall and covered my face with my hands. I had just told Dean that I was attracted to him. I'm an idiot.
