The Mrs Kim Mysteries 2: The Mysterious Mystery of the Thing That Was Broken But Not Bought

Chapter One - Broken

It was almost closing time as the sun set on that darkest of December days. Unaware of the tragedy set to unfold, Mrs Kim stared at the laptop in front of her, typing away. Despite her one-fingered typing, and Kirk not even able to explain this computer he'd sold to her, she was now on a creative roll. So invested was she in her God fanfiction, that she never even noticed the bell ringing in the Antiques shop, indicating the arrival of a new customer.

What finally distracted her was a sound she never wanted to hear. It sounded like a vase smashing, because that's what it was, and without even bothering to finish typing God's new commandment, about breaking and buying, she jumped off her chair and rushed to the shop.

As the bell above the entrance ring, she herself entered the shop, and looked with horror at the floor. Lying there were the remains of an antique vase, and next to those remains was no one.

Mrs Kim rushed to the door, into the street, and looked around, but nobody was there. No one to see her drop to her knees. No one in Stars Hollow to hear her holler at the stars in despair. Someone had broken but not bought, and Mrs Kim vowed to the stars above that she would find whoever it was and she would make them pay.
