Chapter Two - Searching For Answers
As if that terrible day wasn't horrible enough, it was also the town meeting that night. Taylor had barely started the meeting, and Lorelai had barely interrupted, before the doors opened and Mrs Kim entered, a hush spreading over the proceedings.
"Someone came to shop today," said Mrs Kim. "Evil dog pig broke a vase, then disappear." She looked around the room, inspecting the faces of her fellow townsfolk, looking for signs of guilt. "Anyone want to say something?"
Lorelai Gilmore was the first to speak, to absolutely no one's surprise, especially Mrs Kim's. Her question had been like a red rag to Lorelai, who always wanted to say something, especially when she had nothing to say.
"Blah blah blah," said Lorelai, or something along those lines.
"That's right," added her lapdog Luke. "No one here would do anything like that."
As others chimed in, protesting their innocence in the way that guilty filth bunnies would, Mrs Kim scrutinised them. Though she'd never tell them, some of them she found honorable, and others she could even tolerate.
"My instincts tell me you all tell truth. My instincts infallible," Mrs Kim said, tired of their protesting prattle. Clearly it was an outside job. The vase killer could be anywhere in the country, anywhere in the world, possibly even anywhere in the universe.
Mrs Kim would soon find them. That is what she vowed to herself as she exited the town meeting, leaving the tittle-tattle gossipmongers behind her to tittle-tattle and gossip. She would leave no stone unturned in her essential quest.
