"Yo G, come get a look at this!" Amethyst called. Garnet went to look at Amethyst's latest "discovery", finding it to be some sort of cow-worm hybrid. After humoring Amethyst for a while, she went to sit back down. She knew she needed to be focused. Too bad that's hard when both your parts are in turmoil.

"It's not working! Why isn't it working!" Sapphire repeated for the millionth time. She had been like this since they got to Amphibia. "Hey, hey, I told you, it's probably my fault. So let's calm down and-" Ruby tried to sooth. "No! I won't calm down! Future vision isn't working and that means the others are in danger, and with more people to protect than ever!" Sapphire angrily retorted. "Sapphire, please-" "Just leave ME ALONE!"

Sapphire shoved Ruby. Garnet began to glow as Ruby and Sapphire split. Just then, Anne walked in holding a jar. "Yo, Garnet, I need help opening this-" She stopped as she saw Ruby and Sapphire. Crying, Sapphire ran. "I'm sorry, what?"

"And that's about what happened." Ruby said as she explained the situation to the others. Pearl looked panicked. "Future vision isn't working?" she said in a quiet voice. "No. I'm sure dumb Ruby messed it up somehow, just like I messed up not seeing us getting here, just like I mess up everything…" Ruby said with a fake smile. "Ruby, you do not mess up everything!" Steven said indignantly. "Steven, I'm not the focus here. We have to find Sapphire!" "But-" "Later, Steven." Connie whispered to him. He sighed. "Alright." So off they went to find Sapphire.

She ran. Why did she run? What was the point of it? Then again, she didn't know the point of much without her future vision. So she kept running. She ran until she found a secluded spot to sit and cry. She didn't even notice the frost that began to spread from her. She didn't know how long she sat there. Eventually, one of the frog people came up to her. It was- Wally, she thought. "Oh, another one. Are you going to eat my organs?" "I- no. I am Sapphire. You should leave." "Why? You gonna go feral or something?" "No, but-" "Then I don't see a reason to leave." And with that, he sat down.

It had been two hours. Two long hours without Sapphire. It was beginning to get to her. "What- what if we never find her? What if I'm useless and alone forever?" she said, falling to her knees, on the verge of tears. "Ruby, you're not useless and we will find her." Steven reassured. "But I am useless!" Ruby insisted. "Every time Garnet makes a mistake? That's me! I'm the dumb one! If it weren't for me, we wouldn't even be in this mess! If I hadn't held Sapphire back, she would have seen this coming and we could have stopped it! It's my fault, just like it always is!" With this, she finally broke down and began crying. Realizing he couldn't help with this, Steven simply gave Ruby a hug. Fortunately for Ruby, a certain blue gem had heard everything from her hiding place a few feet away. She gasped. "This- this is my fault! I've been so focused on future vision not working, I didn't even realize Ruby was hurting!" With this, she ran to her, calling her name. "Sapphire!? Oh it is! You're ok! You're safe!" "Of course I'm ok, I'm more worried about you." "Me? Why?" "Ruby, you aren't useless and you aren't holding me back. You are not the cause of all of Garnet's mistakes, and you were never a burden." "But I-" "No buts! You are beautiful and kind and strong and I couldn't imagine a life without you. I'm so sorry I've been too caught in my head to see how much you were hurting." Ruby began to smile. Then she started to laugh, which in turn caused Sapphire to laugh. They spun and danced until Garnet returned. Steven ran up to her. "Are you ok now?" he asked, worry evident in his tone. "I am." Garnet said. "Future vision still isn't working, but… I think that's alright." "Isn't that just the sweetest thing." Wally said, having seen the whole thing. And so everyone went home. That night, Garnet tried future vision one last time. To her surprise, she saw something. A huge cat, black with a white stomach, floating through space. It looked directly at her, and the vision ended. She had a feeling it would be the last one she had for quite some time
