Cat's Point of View
How do you pick up the pieces of a shattered heart? It makes no sense what happened. It was 3 weeks ago that I found my little brother, Austin dead on the bathroom floor. His wrists were slit. He had taken his own life. I knew Austin was upset and all, but I didn't know it was that bad.
"Hey Cat," Ashley said, "It's a shame your brother is in hell."
Tears sprang to my eyes. It wasn't fair. Austin was only 10.
"Excuse me!" Tori said, coming to stand next to me, "You did not just say that."
"Yes, I did," Ashley said, "What are you going to do about it→ huh?"
Tori gave a short laugh.
"You obviously need a reality check," she said.
Mallory glared at Tori.
"Oh you just made a big mistake, loser," she said, "I'm going to tell Andre you gave Ashley a reality check."
"Am I supposed to be worried about that or something," Tori asked.
"Andre won't be too happy with you," Mallory pointed out.
"Someone want to tell me what's going on," Andre asked coming out of the bathroom into the hallway, "Why is Little Red upset and why does Tori look ticked as a clock?"
"Well your girlfriend gave Ashley a reality check," Mallory told Andre.
Andre shrugged.
"I'm sure she had her reasons," he replied.
"Ashley-said-that-Austin-is-in-hell," I explained, making the whole sentence sound like one word, "It's-not-fair. He-was-only-ten. He-was-going-through-so-much"
"Austin is in heaven," Andre said.
"But Austin killed himself," Mallory argued.
"I don't care what Austin did→ he's not in hell," Andre said firmly.
