Farewell to Priestess Friend Until Next Time

Maria woke up early in the morning as she steps out of her home and stretched her arms while looking at the beautiful blue sky, believing that today is going to be a wonderful day here in this strange yet unique town.

"I have to say, everything I have seen in this town so far has been an experience I can't wait to share with Lady Lucifer and Lady Michael!" Maria smiled.

"LOOK OUT?!" Pascal shouted and suddenly a big explosion erupted from close by.

"Oh dear, I wonder what that could have been?" Maria asked.

"Did anyone else hear a big explosion?" Laphicet asked as he and the other three demon women came out of the house.

"Yeah, it was coming from over there close to the market." Maria nodded and pointed at the raising smoke.

"I have a feeling we already know who that is, but we better go check it out just in case." Belial sighed and close the door.

Laphicet and the girls made their way to the market where some of the people have gathered together to see the smoke and going there to see what is going on, Eleanor at the scene keeping the people away from the smoke.

"Everyone, please stay back." Eleanor advised.

"Eleanor!" Laphicet called out to the human-mermaid girl getting her attention.

"Lord Laphicet, I am please to see you coming to the trouble as soon as it happened." Eleanor greeted.

"Is everyone okay?" Laphicet asked. But before Eleanor could answer that question, another voice came in.

"Everything is all super-duper over here, your little dragon-ness." Pascal said, walking out of the smoke wobbling and her eyes looking uneven too.

"Knew it." Belial said.

"Were you working on a new invention or some of the old ones you've been trying to do?" Laphicet asked curiously as the smoke cloud slowly clears up.

"You could say it's between those two. I was trying to see if I can conjure lightning from fire, since how the two elements have to common ground of heat with the former hotter than fire, but fire can also be like a heated generator for lightning too." Pascal explained her latest experiment.

"(Huh, that reminds me of a ninja anime show where two brothers fought each other to the death.)" Laphicet thought recalled that show.

"That sounds very difficult to do." Maria commented.

"Of course, it is! What's the point of doing something new and unexpected if it was going to be easy to make, then it wouldn't be fun to see what went wrong and learn from it for the next trail and error." Pascal pointed out.

"But you need to be more careful with the error part like I keep telling you." Eleanor scolded.

"Relax, nobody was hurt, and I even had my forcefield up for extra measure." Pascal smiled.

"Forcefield? I don't see any forcefield here." Laphicet said.

"Oh, that's because it was used to keep the big explosion that just happened into that small spot you see here. And I gotta say, it really works like a charm!" Pascal smiled proudly and hold up what appeared to be a blue star jewel with a white circle in the middle.

"You created a star?" Maria asked, interested and amazed at the new magic gear.

"No, but it would be nice to actually create one." Pascal smiled.

"What this little baby is a defense gear I whipped up to help anyone be protected from any kind of danger that comes at you, or if there's something that was about to explode right in front of you, this baby can take the action inside the forcefield." Pascal explained about the defense device.

"That does sound interesting, you can carry those things around without having to worry about chanting up some defense spells." Astaroth believed.

"When you put it like that, I would want me one of those." Belial smiled.

"Thanks, but I'm afraid this one is still in the testing phase and a protype." Pascal said.

"Does it have a flaw?" Laphicet asked.

"Just one that I've been trying to work on. When it does take the attack, the forcefield immediately shuts down back into this little star form you see here, and it takes a long time for it to recharge." Pascal explained.

"How long does it take to recharge?" Velvet asked.

"Last time I checked, it was about one hour." Pascal answered.

"Damn, that would be a bothersome if you don't have the defense any time." Astaroth said.

"I say it's still a wonderful device you made, Pascal." Maria believed as she held Pascal's hand with the star.

"Oh, you think so?" Pascal asked.

"Of course, you had the inner desire of wanting to protect the new friends you have made in this village and don't want anything bad happening to them. I say that is a very good reason to make such an item." Maria believed strongly.

"Hey now, no need to make me feel all weird on the inside." Pascal chuckled blushing.

"Does your item have a name yet?" Laphicet asked.

"Oh yeah, I totally thought of the perfect name for it and you're going to love it!" Pascal proclaimed with a smile.

"I highly doubt that." Velvet deadpanned.

"I have called this invention… The Super awesome protection magic item that'll be known as… Star Protector!" Pascal announced the name of the new magic item.

"Oh, that sounds very fitting!" Maria liked the name.

"Yeah, I think it's a good name too. You really outdid yourself there, Pascal." Laphicet nodded.

But then Laphicet got himself an idea that would really see how strong that new defense item is, being curious about wanting to see how it would be able to withstand his dragon power and all.

"Hey Pascal, did you by any chance make another one?" Laphicet asked.

"I sure did, thought about making a spare just in case I needed some defense very soon." Pascal nodded and reveal another star device.

"Good, because I want to see how tough it is against my fire." Laphicet said.

"Are you sure about that, Laphicet. I know dragons one of the most powerful creatures in the world and all, but I'm a bit worried that you might end up crushing Pascal's newest toy." Belial concerned.

"I say let him do it, this should also be a good time for Pascal to collect some data on her strong she needs to make her device in case the town is attacked by some powerful creatures and if we're somewhere else at the same time." Velvet stated.

"Yeah, I was actually thinking of asking Laphicet for the assist!" Pascal revealed with a bright smile.

"But just in case, I think we should take this somewhere else just in case Laphicet goes overboard with his power." Belial suggested.

"Hey, I'll be careful." Laphicet proclaimed.

"We know, we're just wanted to sure nothing goes wrong with this little experiment." Belial stated before giving a kiss on Laphicet's cheek.

"Come on, I believe close to the lake should help." Belial said.

Everyone made their way to the lake where they are greeted by Shiraoshi and stood close to the shoreline, Laphicet have thought about him and the girls' wearing swimsuits but maybe that's for another time.

"Okay, I'm about to activate the Star Protection now!" Pascal said and pressed the white circle.

She threw down the star and it forms a magical forcefield dome around herself and about two feet higher than herself.

"Hmm, looks impressive and sturdy too." Laphicet commented with a few taps on the forcefield.

"Now, give me all you got and don't hold anything back!" Pascal smirked with a thumbs up.

"Are we really sure that her forcefield can withstand Laphicet's attack, we've seen how powerful he can be at times." Astaroth pointed out.

"Don't worry, I'm sure Laphicet as a way to attack without causing too much damage to his surroundings." Belial believed.

"That's true, the boy has shown himself to be capable of knowing when to unleash his power to the fullest or just release the right amount." Velvet believed.

"I hope I get the chance to see how truly strong he is before I go back home tomorrow." Maria said.

"Oh, you're going home already?" Astaroth asked shock.

"Here I come!" Laphicet raised one hand toward the sky and dark clouds started gathering above him.

"Here it comes." Velvet said as everyone brace themselves.

"You should stand close to us, Maria. Wouldn't want you to get blown away." Astaroth advised.

"Okay." Maria nodded and stood closer to Astaroth.

Astaroth starts playing her guitar with dark red musical notes flying around herself and the others forming a barrier to protect themselves from whatever powerful attack Laphicet is about to unleash as lightning bolts started raining down on the area.

"Oh man, I've been waiting to try this spell out." Laphicet excitedly.

"Black Lightning, strike down at me and grant me your power!" Laphicet commanded as the dark clouds started roaring louder.

Then a black lightning bolt came down right at Laphicet who open his mouth letting the black electric attack enters his mouth, and this shocks all of the girls who saw that Laphicet is eating the lightning bolt right now and right before their eyes.

"Oh dear, I don't think I've ever seen a lightning magic being eaten like that!" Maria gasped.

"Do you think it might be a dragon thing?" Belial asked.

"Whatever it is, Laphicet is probably going to do something crazy and new!" Velvet said.

Laphicet closes his mouth after getting every ounce of that lightning bolt and look straight at Pascal.

"(Something tells me I should duck like right now.)" Pascal thought nervously.

"(Oh man, this is going to be the coolest thing I have ever done!)" Laphicet thought excitedly and can feel the magic power building up from within.

"Black Lightning Dragon Roar!" Laphicet unleashed the black lightning attack from his mouth and letting it out straight for the forcefield magic.

Pascal screamed and immediately dives down right when the attack made contact to the forcefield and easily broke through it in that instant, the black electric attack went right over her and flow over the lake water too causing the water to separate in a rippling wave from the massive power of that attack.

The black lightning bolt leans upward to avoid hitting the ground and flew higher all the way to the nearest mountain, and that mountain got destroyed leaving barely anything of what was once the mountain.

Belial, Astaroth, Velvet, and Maria are all shocked of the destructive power Laphicet just displayed right in front of them with the water still separating for a few seconds before going back in, Pascal is even more shocked with amazement seeing so much power coming from one little guy who is also a dragon.

"That. Was…AWESOME!" Pascal screamed.

"Wow, that was even more powerful than I thought! Who knew I had it in me to pull off something like that." Laphicet impressed with his own strength.

"Are you crazy?!" Belial, Astaroth, and Velvet yelled at Laphicet causing him to lose his balance for a moment.

"Huh, why are you girls angry at me all of a sudden?" Laphicet confused of their reaction.

"Why are we angry? Hmm, how about the fact that you almost blasted the lake and BLEW UP AN ENTIRE MOUNTAIN?!" Velvet shouted and gestured to the spot where the mountain once was.

It only took Laphicet 2-3 seconds to realize what he had just done and started to freak out with his wings flipping like crazy.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do anything bad; I hope there weren't any people on that mountain!" Laphicet worried.

"Don't worry, there's usually no one up on that mountain and it's just trees and such. So, you should be fine." Belial explained.

"Should be?" Laphicet asked, not convince from that.

"Don't worry, even if you did something bad, I'm sure God will find it in his heart to forgive your actions today as you'll make up for it in the future." Maria believed as she held Laphicet's hands.

"There is also the old saying about learning from your mistakes in order to move forward and be a better person, or dragon in your case." Maria said kindly with a smile.

"Always trying to find the bright side in everything, huh?" Velvet sighed.

"Come on, we all know Laphicet wasn't entirely at fault here since the magic he did was stronger than he wanted to be. That should help him get an idea of how much power he should use the next time he finds himself in a situation to use that attack again." Maria pointed out.

"Wow, that was surprisingly smart of you to say. I don't think I remember that." Belial surprised.

"Oh, Lady Michael taught me a few things about strategies and such whenever I'm alone with her." Maria explained.

"Laphicet! We got to do that again, now I REALLY wanna see how powerful a dragon is!" Pascal held Laphicet up by the cheek.

"Uh, maybe later." Laphicet said.

"Anyway, I wanna do something special for Maria since she's going to be leaving Silver Flame Town tomorrow." Laphicet pulled himself away from Pascal.

"Oh, you heard all that?" Maria asked.

"I have very good hearing, and I was thinking we could throw a party tonight to celebrate the new friend we made and saying farewell to her. That way, she'll know that she is always welcome back here whenever she wants." Laphicet explained the reason for the party and flew next to Maria.

"How very thankful of you, Lord Laphicet! I will be sure to tell Lady Lucifer and Lady Michael who wonderful you are." Maria smiled.

"E-Excuse me, Lord Laphicet…" Shiraoshi entered the scene.

"I hope I'm not bothering you with anything but… I would like to have a word about the attack you just did." Shiraoshi said, revealing her hair is now all stiff and fuzzy from the electric attack that almost hit her.

"Oh no, Shiraoshi! I'm so sorry!" Laphicet quickly flew up to her.

"Here, let me help you!" Laphicet offered to help.

"He maybe an all-powerful dragon, but he's still a little kid." Velvet commented with a chuckle.

"A powerful dragon who also captured our hearts." Belial smiled as Astaroth nodded happily.

"(Yeah, capture our hearts.)" Velvet thought smiled with her sealed hand on her chest.

(Later)

The scene shows everyone in the village have come together to put up the party to say farewell to Maria with some decorations and the food they put out, Laphicet actually asked some of the villagers to help out a few days in advance and now everything is going smoothly.

"Here, I put together a special mabo curry that mommy would always make on special occasions." Kamoana handed Maria a plate of mabo curry.

"Oh, you made this by yourselves?" Maria asked.

"Well, I kinda had a little help from mommy, but I still made it!" Kamoana bragged.

"She insisted that she wanted to do something special for you since you have been a wonderful guest in our village." Medissa smiled.

"And I am grateful for you all treated me like I was part of the village, I promise to never forget such wonderful people. Including how the Lord of Calamity isn't as evil as the legend foretold." Maria looked over at Velvet.

"Sure, brag about it if you want." Velvet rolled her eyes.

"Okay everyone, let's give this party our all to show Maria a good time!" Laphicet said and everyone cheers.

Astaroth started playing her guitar and Lulala is singing the song as some of the villagers are dancing together, Velvet decided to do something a little special by conjuring fire from her demon arm and launch it into the sky causing the fire to explode into many like fireworks which amazes Maria very much.

"I didn't know you can do fire like that!" Maria amazed.

"There are lots of other things you don't know about." Velvet grinned.

"I hope we can be friends. And don't worry, I'll have a talk with my Ladies in not sealing you up again." Maria promised.

"Sounds good, and while you're at it, would you find giving them a message for me?" Velvet asked as Maria listen in.

"Tell them I'm still going for my revenge on "Him" soon. They'll know who I'm talking about." Velvet said before taking her drink.

KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!

It sure was nice of Laphicet and the village to throw a party for Maria since she is going to be heading back home, but this won't be the last time we'll see her, and the other Lords of Demons and Angels may make their move soon.
