Battle Against a Malevolence Dragon
The scenes a faraway area where Laphicet flew down to find out who tried to attack him with that fire attack, and suddenly a giant stream of flame came out of nowhere burning away the trees and a large scope of the area too.
That would be the dragon that landed in front of Laphicet and the woman named Seres, and they got caught in the fire attack of the dragon.
After another three seconds, the dragon stops spitting out fire and looks forward to seeing how burned and dead the two preys are.
But then it hears a groaning sound, and the dragon's eyes widen in shock to see a pair of silver wings hold together, and what's strange to the dragon is that there isn't a single burn mark on those wings and they flinch which could mean one of them is alive.
"Are we… still alive." Seres asked, surprise that her body isn't all dark brown and overcooked.
"I think so, my wings have become excellent shields to defend against that fire." Laphicet said, and secretly let out a sigh of relief that his wings could actually be fireproof because he had no idea, they could do that.
"Don't celebrate just yet, we still have to survive that dragon." Seres reminded the dragon boy there is a dragon still here.
"Oh, right." Laphicet realized.
"But why was it attacking you? Did you provoke it or something?" Laphicet asked the mask woman.
"No, I never even been near any place a dragon might be at. Dragons haven't been seen in years, about 101 years right now!" Seres said.
"But I can tell that something is definitely wrong with this dragon, like it's acting out of its usual behavior." Seres stood back up on her feet.
"What makes you say that?" Laphicet asked.
"Let just say I've been doing a lot of studying about dragons including other things that some were able to get even close encounters." Seres said.
The dragon roars in rage and leaps toward them with a claw attack down as both move each in different directions to dodge the attack, Laphicet quickly fires a silver fireball right at the dragon hitting the shoulder that only made it flinch but angrier too.
"Come and get me!" Laphicet taunted the dragon to attack him.
The dragon roars again and jumps at Laphicet to attack again swinging its claws while the dragon boy himself jumps away to dodge the attacks, he makes one jump to kick the dragon in the face.
"Look out!" Seres shouted.
Laphicet was confused for a second until he saw the dragon swing its tail to send him flying and crashing through several trees, but that didn't keep him down as the dragon boy flies up and charges at the rampaging dragon with a headbutt against his small fist causing a shockwave.
But the dragon push Laphicet back and jumps to chomp the boy down in its mouth only for a fireball to strike its eye causing it to miss the boy as he flies away.
"Are you alright?" Seres asked, concerning the boy's wellbeing.
"I'm fine, that dragon hits hard but nothing I can't handle." Laphicet answered.
"But I notice something weird when I made contact with the dragon." Laphicet said as he looks at the growling dragon.
"Notice something, like what?" Seres asked.
"I'm not exactly sure, it felt dark but it too faint for me to feel when the contact was short." Laphicet shook his head, but maybe it could be something that is causing this dragon to act like this.
"Then you will need to make more direct contact with the dragon to get a better understanding on what is going on." Seres suggested.
"If I could just figure out what is going on with that dragon, then maybe we could find a way to help it." Laphicet smiled, feeling a bit of hope.
"But if the worse comes, then we may have to kill this dragon or else it cold go hurting others." Seres feared.
"Like my village." Laphicet worried.
"Come on, don't get sad on me. I still need your own dragon strength to survive." Seres said, trying to get the boy to focus.
"Right!" Laphicet nodded.
They turn to face the dragon again as it roars like at them ready to fight again.

"I'm sorry for what's about to happen, Mister Dragon, but you need to be stop!" Laphicet said, getting into a fighting stance along with Seres.
The dragon roars before letting out another fire attack that Laphicet responded with his own silver fire breath, the two fire attacks clashes into a struggle for a moment until they exploded together.
"Don't let this dragon have a chance to attack again!" Seres advised as she threw three spear-shape daggers and sent them at the dragon.
The dragon felt those attacks though they didn't do anything much only provide a little distraction for Laphicet to run towards the dragon and threw in an uppercut under the chin.
"Take this!" Laphicet threw in another punch that send the dragon twenty feet away.
But the dragon wouldn't stay away for long as it recovers and unleashes some more fire attacks making the two moves around to dodge, Laphicet flies under the fire attack and attacks again then going for its right side to throw in several slash attacks with his hands that he forms little silver flames into claws which seem to have done more as the dragon roars in pain.
"Oh, I think we're getting somewhere." Laphicet said.
The dragon turns around a bit to face Laphicet trying to bite him only for the boy to dodge some more due to his little body and being able to move faster too as he kicks him.
The dragon decided to take flight as it flaps its wings and soar in the air while firing some fire blasts at Seres who is trying her best.
"Shit!" Seres gasped and quickly ran.
"Oh no, you don't!" Laphicet tackled the dragon at a fast speed to push the dragon away a little.
The dragon roars again and this time, its body started to glow a faintly purple and red that it was only for a second, but Laphicet and Seres saw it.
"(What was that strange glow?)" Laphicet thought wondered.
"Could that have been… malevolence?" Seres said to herself.
The dragon charges at Laphicet while unleashing some fire breath attacks getting him to fly around and moving fast to dodge the attacks, Laphicet would even counter with his own fire attack on the dragon doing some damage while throwing some punches but was shoved away.
"Man, this dragon sure is tough." Laphicet commented.
The dragon comes to attack with is claws only to clash against Laphicet's own flaming claws as they fly past each other, and during one clash the dragon was able to knock Laphicet down crashing into the ground, but Laphicet immediately counterattack with a small black lightning magic that the dragon was barely able to dodge having a slight burn mark on the side.
"You can do lightning attack?" Seres asked shock.
"Yeah, I've been doing some practice with magic with Belial and the others back at my village." Laphicet explained.
The dragon lands hard on the ground and Seres spins once and hold out her hand toward the dragon with circle marks appearing below it, then the circle exploded in a fiery eruption.
But the dragon blew the fiery explosion away with just the mighty wind of its roar showing that it barely felt anything from that attack unlike Laphicet's attack, and its body glows that strange aura again.
"That thing isn't going to stay down." Laphicet pointed out.
Laphicet forms a silver flame fireball in his hand and threw it down into the air right above the dragon, he clutches his hands causing the silver fireball to explode and raining down lots of silver flame raindrops attacking the dragon.
"Silver flames, and it's hurting the dragon much more than that lightning attack." Seres noticed.
"Wait, could it be the Flames of Purification?" Seres asked shock.
"Flames of what?" Laphicet asked.
"Young man, I think your silver flames are what could save the dragon from itself, but we need to do it fast." Seres said.
"Really?" Laphicet surprised.
"All you need to do is unleash your silver flame on that dragon, but you're not going to attack it. You're going to purify the malevolence that has been consuming the dragon." Seres said.
"Wait, what are you talking about? What malevolence?" Laphicet confused.
"It's the strange glow that has been emitting from the dragon. It's a powerful negative thing that has been made from negative and pure dark emotions that takes the form of a corrupted power." Seres explained.
The dragon goes in to attack the two as they jump away together, Seres unleashes a big flaming wave at the dragon to push it back while giving it some burn even though it doesn't take much damage.
"Concentrate on the malevolence from within the dragon's body and let your Flames of Purification do the rest." Seres said.
"I'm still not sure what you mean by that, but I'm going to give it my all!" Laphicet nodded.
"That's what I like to hear, I'm going to keep that thing distracted for a bit. You focus your power into one attack." Seres said, facing the dragon again.
"Okay, just don't get hurt too much." Laphicet said.
"I'll try my best." Seres said before charging at the dragon.
Seres throws some fire attacks to keep the dragon's attention all on her while Laphicet starts charging up his attack, hopefully it won't take long.
Seres quickly slides under a claw attack from the dragon and threw a fiery projectile from her foot and attacks at the burn mark from Laphicet's lightning attack that seem to annoy the dragon in a painful way.
"I'm sorry, but we need you to stop rampaging!" Seres yelled.
The dragon just roars and moves in a little faster than Seres could react as the dragon pins her down to the ground and makes her bones as she coughs up blood.
"Seres!" Laphicet gasped.
"Don't worry about me, just do your attack!" Seres screamed.
"But… I'm afraid I might hurt you!" Laphicet worried.
"There is no room for hesitation, kid!" A man's voice shouted.
This shock and confuses both Laphicet and Seres upon hearing another voice, wondering who it could be.
Suddenly something fast and human-like is approaching the battle without any hint of fear in the eyes and this man leaps right for the dragon's face with a strong dual slash that move the dragon's head forcing it to lift its foot off from Seres.
"Who are you?" Seres asked.
"Rokurou Rangetsu, please to meet you." Rokurou answered with a smirk.
Rokurou has mid-length, spiky and black hair which covers the right portion of his face (specifically to cover his right eye). His hair is tied into a low-ponytail and each strand of hair flicks out. The right side of his face is covered with markings that had appeared after the Scarlet Moon and continues lower down on his body. He wears black legwarmers, pale-lilac samurai pants and woven robes. Another layer of a dark purple robe is worn over and tied around his waist. The purple layer of clothing has orange as its inverted color. He wears a chest-plate guard and presumably something of the similar sort for his arms, which is finished off by a thick, plated shoulder-guard. He has a strap attached to his torso which he hangs his sword on the back of. Rokurou also wears traditional sandal footwear for that of samurais, with straps and socks.
"Wait, Rangetsu… I've heard of that name before!" Seres said.
"Yeah, I'm sure you have." Rokurou rolled his eyes.
"But now is not time to talk about me when we gotta get you out of way for that kid!" Rokurou said as he picks up Seres from the ground.
"Hey kid, whatever you're about to do! Better do it now!" Rokurou shouted.
"Oh, okay!" Laphicet nodded, now fully ready to unleash his attack on the dragon.
"(Seres said that my fire is the Flames of Purification, I still don't know what's all that about. But what I do know is that I want to save that dragon and this fire is going to do just that!)" Laphicet thought determined to help that dragon, no matter what.
"Take this!" Laphicet said before taking in a deep breath, putting his thoughts on saving the dragon and attacking this Malevolence things like Seres told him.
"Purifying Roar!" Laphicet let out a giant silver flaming attack from his mouth.
The dragon only just recovered from being stunned by that surprise attack only to see this silver fire attack coming at it, and the attack completely engulfs the flying beast for a moment.

"Holy shit, that is some intense flames." Rokurou amazed.
"Indeed, that boy is just full of surprises." Seres nodded.
"(Not only that, but maybe that boy is what I've been looking for to help me. He has the Flames of Purification, that means he is the one to help stop that man.)" Seres thought believed strongly.
"Seres, are you alright?" Laphicet flew over to Seres and the new friend who saved her.
"I'm fine, our new friend here was able to help me." Seres gestured to the newcomer.
"Thank you very much, I don't know how I can repay you." Laphicet thanked with a respectful bow.
"Don't think of it too much. I was just passing by when I notice something going on around here with the fire shooting everywhere and the loud roar, so I got curious to come see it for myself." Rokurou explained his reason for being here.
"Well, maybe I can take you to my village. We have some nice food." Laphicet offered still.
"If you got any good drinks, then I'm all for it." Rokurou smiled.
But just when everything appears to be peaceful with the battle over, the dragon let out another mighty roar that seems to be a little louder than before the malevolence glow is even darker and darker around the dragon.
"Oh, you gotta be fucking kidding me!" Rokurou glared at the dragon.
"Well, guess we're gonna have to keep on fighting this thing." Rokurou said as he took out his two short swords.
"I thought we could save it." Laphicet said, looking sad.
"Even with the Flames of Purification that burned away some of the Malevolence, that dragon is still consumed by it. Looks like this is different than what I read about." Seres said.
But then Laphicet heard something, catching him by surprise.
"What? Who…" Laphicet looked around.
"What's the matter, kid?" Rokurou asked, noticing the kid with wings is trying to look for something.
"I thought I heard something, someone else in here." Laphicet said.
"What? But there's no one around but us and the dragon." Rokurou confused.
"H… E!"
"There it is again." Laphicet said, hearing the voice in his head and soon started to feel where that voice was coming from as his sight turns to that of the dragon.
"The dragon?" Laphicet puzzled at first until he heard the voice again clearer this time.
"Please! Help me, put an end to me!" The dragon spoke from within the mind.
"The dragon, it wants us to put it down. Ad I think it wants death." Laphicet said looking a little scared.
"I see, since you couldn't purify the malevolence from its body, looks like we're gonna have to go for the killing option." Seres saw there is no other choice.
"Will you be okay with that?" Rokurou asked the winged kid.
"As much as I want to find another solution, this is our best shot since the dragon is asking for it." Laphicet answered with a determined look on his face.
The dragon charges at the group with a slash attack which knocks the long sword on Rokurou's back off much to his horror, but Laphicet was able to catch it and ready with another fire breath attack only this time it'll be to kill.
"Black Lightning Dragon Roar!" Laphicet unleashed his lightning breath attack with even more power at the dragon, hitting the target causing a big explosion.
When the dust settles, Laphicet flew down to the defeated dragon as its life is fading away and he places a hand on its face.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save you." Laphicet apologized.
"No, save me… you have." The dragon said in Laphicet's mind before closing its eyes forever, fully accepting death though that only made Laphicet sadder as tears are on the verge of coming out.

The battle against this dragon was intense even for Laphicet along with a surprise aid from Rokurou stepping into the battle, and it looks like Laphicet has also saved the dragon from something that was corrupting it even with his Flames of Purification. He'll learn more about that from Seres soon in the next chapter.
