Chapter 30: The Great Escape

Avengers Towers Thursday, December 5, 2013, 7:00 pm

Sirius splashed water over his face and looked into the mirror hanging over the sink; he was getting bags under his eyes from not getting much sleep. Sirius didn't know how long he could stand locked up in a glass prison. It was starting to make him feel claustrophobic, and no matter how much he loved Remus as a brother, having him in here with him made it more challenging at times due to making the cage feel more cramped, not to mention they had to worry about the full moon that was less than two weeks away. Hopefully, their plan to escape worked. If so, he wouldn't have to worry about being locked up in here with Remus on the full moon and could be back with his family. Sirius and Remus had their escape planned out out. They were just waiting on Natasha to tell them the best time to pull it off; they were waiting for fewer Avengers to be in the tower.

Sirius would never tell Remus, but the thought of being locked in this cell with him on a full moon made him a little nervous, but he hid it well. Sirius has hung out with Remus during the full moon without Wolfbane Potion dozens of times, but that was out in the open. They would leave the Shrinking Shack and run around Hogwarts grounds and in the Forbidden Forest, where Remus's wolf could run and be free. Being locked in a breakout-proof glass cell was a different story. He could always turn into Padfoot if they were still here, but Sirius didn't know if that would be enough to keep the werewolf from attacking him or if he'll go nuts from being locked up in such a small space. In the best-case scenario, Sirius gets turned into a werewolf. The worst-case scenario is he gets killed; either way, Remus will have to leave with that guilt until Loki kills him for attacking Sirius. Whether or not it was Remus's fault, Loki won't care. He could be a little too protective when it comes to Sirius; in some cases, that was fine with him, he found it nice someone cared about him that much, but in other times, such as this, it was bad, very bad. Sirius didn't want his lover to kill his best friend for something he had no control over. If he lived, Sirius could stop Loki. If he died, hopefully, Harry would be able to talk sense into Loki.

Natasha Romanoff had taken to bringing their dinner to them every night, and she and Remus were slipping notes to each other under paper towels on the tray she brought their food on, they had no idea why she was suddenly willing to help them when she had refused to help Remus before, and Sirius had no idea if they could trust her, she was going behind her teammates/friends' backs, and if she decided being loyal them was more important then helping Sirius and Remus, she could back out, which Sirius would understand, being someone very loyal to those he cares about, so, he couldn't blame her, it would suck for him and Remus though.

"Fuck!" Sirius cried out in frustration. Why did he have to be such an idiot and come here? How is he protecting Harry from being stuck in this glass prison?

"You alright, Padfoot?" Remus called from the cell; Sirius took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

"Yeah, Moony, I'm fine, don't worry," Sirius called back.

"Good, then come out here, Houdini. We need to talk." Came Tony Stark's voice, and Sirius rolled his eyes, then turned and walked into the cell. Once he stepped into it, the wall closed behind him, and the glass door slid shut. He crossed his arms and leaned against it, waiting for Stark to say what he wanted.

"Listen, you and wolf man here-"

"Don't call him that." Sirius snapped, unfolding his arms and glaring at Stark.

"Padfoot, it's okay, don't get all round-up; that's what he wants," Remus said; Sirius glanced at Remus, then back at Stark, turned away from him, and started pacing.

"Anyway, we have decided we can't keep you two locked up here for much longer, but yet, with your abilities, and the fact one of you is a werewolf, you can't just be set free either, not after you both attacked us," Stark said.

"I didn't attack anyone. If anything, you guys tried to attack me," Sirius said.

"You broke into my tower," Tony said. "Try to attack Pepper."

"That's a lie," Sirius growled."I just bumped into her, I have explained this to every one of you a hundred times, and it's funny you claim to be the ones attacked but yet I am the one that was injured."

"What are you going to do with us?" Remus asked, cutting into the argument Sirius and Tony was about to have.

"We do have a place we put criminals too dangerous to be put in a normal prison," Tony said, "But no idea if that's where you're going. That's not up to me. Monday, some S.H.E.I.L.D. agents will be here to collect you; it's up to Nick Fury what they want to do with you."

"I can't be locked up in the same cell with other people during a full moon," Remus said.

"Don't worry; I'm sure they'll find you a nice kennel somewhere away from people," Tony said.

"Watch it, Stark," Sirius said. Tony ignored him.

"I already arranged for them to come get you, sorry we can't just keep watching you to, we have more important things to do," Tony said, then he turned and walked out of the room.

"I swear, I don't think I've ever met a more annoying man," Sirius said, stopping pacing and sitting on the mat they gave him to sleep on since Remus took over the hospital bed.

"I don't know. Stark reminds me of you in some ways," Remus said, smiling when Sirius gave him a disgusted look.

"Did the Hulk hit you harder than I thought?" Sirius said, "Because you have lost your bloody mind. How is Stark anything like me?"

"Well, I read that book you had in the hotel about him, and from what I gathered from his story, he comes from one of the richest muggle families in the US; he didn't get along with his father. He's arrogant, intelligent, and infamous for being a playboy with a smart mouth." Remus said.

"I don't have a smart mouth," Sirius said, "And I ran away from home when I was sixteen and had to take care of myself. I didn't inherit the Black family's wealth until recently."

"True, but you did inherit gold from your uncle," Remus said, "And running away doesn't change the fact you're family, as evil as they are, is still one of the richest wizardry families in Britain, and yes, Sirius you do have a smart mouth."

"Can we just stop talking about my so-called family now?" Sirius demanded. "I hate that I came from that family; it's a good thing most of them have died off."

"Sirius," Remus reprimanded, "I know you're family is awful, but you probably shouldn't say things like that."

"I speak the truth, Moony," Sirius said, then something dawned on him. "Oh, hell no."

"What?"

"I just remembered Draco Malfoy was born in early June. I remember it being all over the Daily Prophet. The Malfoys family have an heir," Sirius said.

"Okay, I know you hate the Malfoys, but why does the birthdate of Draco have you so upset?" Remus asked.

"That would make him older than Harry. The way my family's inheritance is, it doesn't go from father to son, but to the next oldest wizard with Black blood, since I'm the oldest at the moment, and me, Harry, and Draco are the last three males alive in my family, that means when I die, Draco will become the head of the Black family and inherit all that wealth," Sirius said.

"That's a bit weird to have it set up that way," Remus said. "Though, honestly, I don't think Harry would care."

"I don't give a shit either, but when I get out of here, I need to take a trip to Gringotts, see if I can change that, make Harry the Black family heir," Sirius said.

"Why go through that trouble if you don't care?" Remus asked.

"Think about it, one of the reasons the Malfoys have always been so powerful, and have a lot of influence with the Ministry is because of their wealth, all that will double if Draco inherits the Black family gold too," Sirius explained.

"That's a good point," Remus said.

"Of course it is. I made it," Sirius said, then laughed at the look Remus gave him when the outer door opened again, and Natasha walked in carrying a tray with their dinner and drinks. Remus immediately got to his feet. As she walked up to the cell, Remus opened the panel so she could hand the try to him.

"You were right. You left the room unlocked," Natasha whispered, then louder said. "Here's your dinner; eat it before it gets cold."

"Thank you," Remus said, taking the tray.

"So, I hear Tony is sending you two away on Monday." Natasha said. "I would say I'll miss you, but that would be a lie."

Remus grinned a little at Natasha as she closed the glass panel; he could feel his wand under the paper towel she had lying across the tray. She was able to find where he had hidden it in the hotel room on the day of the full moon.

"You two behave," Natasha said before turning away from them and leaving the room.

"I hope her friends don't find out she's helping us," Remus said, sitting on the bed and lying the tray beside him. Sirius stood, walked over, and sat next to him. Remus picked up his wand and hid it up his jumper sleeve; there was also a note and Remus unfolded it to read.

"What's it say?" Sirius asked, leaning over to see.

"Said we should try our escape tomorrow, at one o'clock, Pepper Potts is forcing Stark to go to a meeting, Thor has plans with some woman named Jane Foster, Clint leaves tomorrow morning and is gone the whole weekend, and Banner is out of town doing science stuff, Barnes and Rogers will be the only two here," Remus said. "Natasha has plans to leave the tower at noon."

"And our stuff?" Sirius asked.

"She got everything we had on our list from the hotel and put your stuff they took into the bag. She'll leave it on the vehicle she got for us. It's up to us to get out of this cell and make it to the the building's garage; the letter has directions to get there," Remus said.

"Natty did it, now we just have to hope our plane to get out of here works," Sirius said, grabbing his plate and water, carrying it over to his mat, and sitting down. Hidden in the bathroom were two pairs of sneakers Natasha had bought them with money from Sirius's wallet, they needed shoes to run away in, Remus didn't know where he had left him, and Natasha had no idea what Stark did with Sirius's boots and clothes.

"I never doubted Natasha" Remus said, picking up the second tray.

"I knew there had to be a reason I was once attracted to her," Sirius said.

"Sirius, don't..." Remus paused and shook his head.

"What? " Sirius asked, giving Remus a curious look as he took a bite of his food.

"Nothing, never mind," Remus said, folding up the note and putting it in his pocket; Sirius chuckled, he knew what Remus was about to say, and he found it amusing; his usual mild manner honorary brother was falling for the Black Willow and didn't want Sirius to remind him of his one time with her.

The two best friends ate in silence, then barely talked any afterward, it wasn't until Natasha had returned to get their empty trays and Natasha left after standing there and talking to Remus for about ten minutes

"You can ask her out, you know," Sirius said once Natasha was gone, Remus shook his head. "I'm serious; once we get back home, send her a letter, ask Natty to might up somewhere. I bet she'll agree."

"I will do no such thing; what if she's followed? What if someone gets ahold of the letter, I don't want her in trouble." Remus said, scowling.

"Give her your cell number then, or ask for hers," Sirius suggested.

"Natasha is a spy for a government agency; they are likely have her phone tapped," Remus said. Sirius raised his eyebrow. Since when did Remus know anything about muggle spies?

"I think you're full of it; that sounds like nothing but excuses," Sirius said.

"Sirius, just drop it. I don't know why you suddenly got it in your head. Natasha and I can be a couple. We are way too different, we come from totally different worlds, and we'll probably never see each other again once we escape here. Besides, I'm way too dangerous." Remus said.

"Oh, don't give me that bullshit, Remus. You are only dangerous once a month if you haven't taken your Wolfbane Potion; sometimes I wonder if you enjoy making yourself miserable," Sirius said. "Fine, don't send her a letter, but don't let your lycanthropy be the reason, stop letting it run your whole life."

"That's easy for you to say." Remus said. "You don't have to worry about turning into a monster once a month, you don't have to worry about if you'll be able to get your hands on Wolfband Potion or if you'll remember to take it, or keep track of each full moon," Remus said.

"You know Reigny and I will make sure you always have the potion, Moony," Sirius said, "And as for being a dangerous monster, you sure didn't care about that when you showed up here last full moon to save me, I'm not worth Azkaban, Remus."

"I couldn't just let them keep you locked up in here," Remus said, "I had to do something."

"I appreciate it, but I would have preferred being locked up to you risking going to Azkaban," Sirius said, "Your heart was in the right place, but you sure weren't thinking."

"You are right. It was stupid, and I should have just returned to Britain and left you here to rot." Remus snapped; he lay down on the bed and crossed his arm. They both were silent for about five minutes.

"You don't mean that, Moony," Sirius said. There was a long pause, then Remus signed.

"No, Padfoot, I don't mean it," Remus said. There was another long moment of silence.

"So, about the Black Willow-"

"Shut up, Sirius." Remus snapped, and Sirius started laughing, which caused Remus to throw a pillow at him; Sirius could have blocked it with a shield charm or even his mind, but allowed it to hit his face, then grumbled about it so, Remus could feel a little vindicated after all, Sirius was a little insensitive to his good friend a moment ago.

"That hurt," Sirius said, rubbing his nose; Remus sometimes forgot how strong he could be due to his werewolf strength. "Oh, well, I have another pillow now."

Sirius laid it on top of his pillow, laid down on it, and snuggled into his blanket; he closed his eyes and waited.

"Sirius, I want the pillow back," Remus said.

"You gave it to me," Sirius said. He heard Remus getting out of bed.

"I did not. I threw it at you," Remus said; he was now standing over Sirius, "Give it back."

"Throwing it at me was giving it to me," Sirius said; Remus reached down, took hold of the pillow, and jerked it out from under Sirius's head, "Hey,"

"I didn't give it to you," Remus said, turning and returning to the bed.

"That was very childish, Remus." Sirius teased as Remus laid back down on the bed.

"Go to sleep, Sirius," Remus said.

"Go to sleep?" Sirius demanded, pointing toward a large clock hanging in the outer room. "It's not even nine o'clock."

"I don't care what time it is; go to sleep anyway," Remus replied.

"You're very crabby today, Moony," Sirius said, "I think you need to get-"

"Finish that sentence, and I'll beat you with this pillow," Remus warned; Sirius had to bite his lip to stop laughing. "Now, be quiet. I'm going to sleep, and it doesn't matter what time it is; it's not like we have anything better to do."

Remus rolled over, facing the opposite of Sirius, who after a moment rolled over on his back and stared up at the ceiling; after a while, Remus fell asleep, but Sirius never did, even when it became late, he just lay there, lost in his thoughts.

Around one o'clock the next day, Sirius and Remus put on their shoes then made sure they wouldn't leave anything behind, that would clue the Avengers in on Natasha helping them. Once that was all done, Remus stuck his wand up his jumper sleeve and then nodded to Sirius.

"Ready?" Remus asked.

"Yeah," Sirius said, standing, and running his hand through his hair. "Stand on the other side of the bed; cover your ears."

Remus walked around the bed and covered his ears, then Sirius took a deep breath, then channeled all his magic, then tried to apparate out of the cell. Like before, he felt himself leave for a split second before being forced back in, with a loud pop, as the cell glowed for a moment, then a loud alarm went off, and Sirius was left standing there holding his head which was now pounding.

"Are you alright?" Remus asked.

"Yeah, but you better lay down and act like you're hurt," Sirius said; Remus laid on the floor and closed his eye, pretending to be unconscious; the alarm shut off; Sirius stood on the other side of the cell; five minutes later, Bucky Barnes came walking into the outer room. Sirius rushed to the glass door and banged on it.

"Help, my friend had an attack and fell out of bed," Sirius said. Bucky looked toward Remus, then at Sirius, suspiciously but didn't open the door. "Come on, men, please; he's my childhood friend."

Sirius's words triggered something in Bucky, who reached out his flesh hand and opened the door, Sirius backed away so that Bucky could walk in, and he went directly toward Remus, once his back was to Sirius he held his hand out and whispered.

"Stupfly"

The spell hit Bucky in the back, and he fell to the ground; Remus got up, ran around the bed, and out the door, Sirius turned to follow, and Bucky reached his metal hand out and grabbed his ankle, and pulled on Sirius's leg making him fall to the ground, he rolled over on his back, and kicked out his leg, but Bucky wouldn't let it go. Apparently a stunner could knock a super soldier down, but couldn't knock them out.

"You tricked me," Bucky said then swung at Sirius, but he dodged out of the way before Bucky could do anything else; Remus tackled him from the side, and they both crashed to the floor; Bucky was back up first but before he could do anything to Remus, Sirius had jumped up, and punched him in the ribs, surprising Bucky, who grabbed his ribs, then swung back at Sirius, catching him in the eye with his fist, the force knocked Sirius out of the open door of the cell and onto the flood, Bucky walked out of the cell toward Sirius, who sent a blast of magic at him, Bucky used his metal arm to block it, the magic bounced off and right back at Sirius, who threw up a shield charm.

Bucky walked toward Sirius, and Remus rushed forward, grabbed him by the metal arm, and with all his strength, he swung Bucky around, sending him flying across the room; he hit the cabinets and fell to the floor.

"Sorry," Remus called out to him; Sirius got to his feet, grabbed Renus's arm, and pulled him toward the door; he let go of him to open the door. He ran out with Remus following, "Turn right."

Sirius did as Remus said, and they ran down the hall; Remus told him to turn left, and Sirius did, and they ran down another corridor, then turned left again and paused because Steve Rogers was standing there in his Captain America suit, shield and all.

"Stupid British voice," Sirius mumbled to himself.

"Alright, the two of you just back it up," Steve said; Sirius held up his arms, pretending to surrender, but Remus reached around him with his wand and shot a jet of red light at Steve. He raised his shield to block it, and the spell hit the shield and bounced back at them. Sirius threw up a shield charm to stop it, but when he dropped it, he thrust out his hands and let loose a blast of magic, which struck Steve, sending him flying back.

"Come on, this way," Remus yelled, running down another hall; Sirius followed, and they turned right and then down the hall until they got to the stairway; Remus opened the door, and the two ran down two flights of stairs, they came upon another door, and Sirius opened it, and they walked into another hall, Remus followed him, then ran toward the door at the end of the hall, as they ran passed an elevator it opened, and Steve and Bucky came running out.

"You two stop right there?"

They looked behind them as Bucky and Steve came running toward them, Sirius sent a blast of magic at them, and Steve raised the shield to block it, then tossed it at Sirius, who waved his hand, and the shield stopped in mid-air, Sirius let it hang there for a moment. Steve and Bucky stared at it in disbelief, then with another motion of his hand, he sent the shield flying back toward them. It hit Steve in the gut, which knocked him down, causing him to take Bucky down with him accidentally.

Sirius and Remus turned around and went running back down the hall, through the door at the very end, then ran up one flight of stairs, and then to a door that led out into the garage; Sirius pushed on the door, then pulled, but the door was locked, and wouldn't open.

"Stand back, Moony." Sirius cried, then sent a blast of magic at the door and blew it off its hinges. The door flew across the garage and landed on a fancy-looking sports car, smashing the front end and causing the car alarm to go off. "Ops."

"Nothing we can do about it," Remus said, "there's our ride." He pointed over to a motorcycle sitting at the side of the building that had their bag on the seat, with Remus and Sirius's leather jackets lying over it.

"Wicked." Sirius grinned, running over to the motorcycle; he grabbed his jacket and put it on, then picked up his bag, unzipped it, and looked in it to make sure the invisibility cloak was inside, then handed it to Remus. "Put that on your back, then get on behind me."

"I don't know about this," Remus said; he shoved his jacket into the bag before putting it on his back. Sirius climbed on the bike and started it up when a familiar owl landed on the handlebar and held out his talon, a black envelope was tied to it.

"Thori?" Sirius asked, taking the black envelope and looked at his name written in gold ink on the front. He told Loki and Harry not to write him unless it was an emergency, and this letter was obviously from Loki. "Merlin, please don't let anything have happened to Harry."

He wanted to open the letter and make sure his son was alright, but at that moment, Bucky and Steve came running into the garage.

"Padfoot, we have to go," Remus called to get on the back; Thori took off flying and went right toward Steve and Bucky attacking them; Sirius stuck the letter in his inside jacket pocket.

"What the hell?" Bucky cried as Sirius pulled out, wheels squealing. Sirius laughed as he zoomed through the garage and down all the levels, then tore out onto the street; swerving to miss a car, he sped down the road, zipping in and out of traffic, and maneuvering around cars, speeding by so fast the people in them barely saw what went by.

"Sirius, maybe you should slow down," Remus said, gripping him tightly; unlike Sirius, Remus hated motorcycles, and the busy New York roads just worsened it. If Sirius wasn't careful, he could hit a car or knock someone's side mirror off since the cars were all so close and just sitting there due to being stuck in traffic.

Sirius turned down an ally that's when Iron Man appeared over them. He aimed his laser at them but missed as Sirius sped up the bike and decided to go back into the traffic so Iron Man wouldn't be willing to shoot at them due to too many people around.

Thunder started rumbling as Sirius zipped between two cars, then turned sharply, going down a side road, and slammed on his brakes. When Thor landed on the street before them, he heard Iron Man land behind him. To the left side, Bucky appeared pointing a gun at them. On the left side, Steve appeared holding his shield.

"You're surrounded now. Put your hands up and slowly get off the bike," Tony said. Sirius left the bike running as he let go of the handlebars and slowly raised his hands, looking directly at Thor.

"On no, you caught us. Whatever are we going to do now?" Sirius demanded.

"Turn off the bike and get off is what you are going to do," Tony said,

Sirius ignored him as he slowly lowered one hand down, holding it out with his palm up, the mini cooper parked on the side of the street started to rise in the air, and Sirius's eyes began glowing yellow.

"Is he doing that?" Bucky said. He lowered his gun a little. He didn't know what he should do because he didn't want to have to shoot them. He killed enough people under Hydra's contro.

"Thor, mate, I've had fun hanging out with you, but honestly, I prefer your brother's company, he's a lot more fun." Sirius said, smirking when Thor's face took on a surprised look, then turned angry as he took a step toward him.

Sirius jerked his arm forward, and the car flew towards Thor, who didn't have a chance to move out of the way. It struck him, sending Thor and the car flying through the air, and Sirius took off, speeding down the street. As he began whispering a chant, magic started flowing from his hands. The bike jerked forward and started going faster, as Sirius zoomed around cars as he came upon a more crowded street; the more Sirius chanted, the quicker the bike went, and the more magic flowed from his hands, his eyes now entirely yellow.

Above them, Tony was doing his best to catch up with them, which he figured he should have by now since his suit usually outflew everything.

"Rogers, talk to me; how the hell is your bike faster than my suit?" Tony demanded through his head piece.

"It shouldn't be?" Steve replied.

"Jarvis?" Tony demanded.

"I believe it is something Black is doing to make it go faster, sir; his chatting seems to be some kind of spell," Jarvis replied.

"I swear I'm starting to believe I fell into a fairy tell book, first gods and aliens, now witches and werewolves." Tony said, "And what is that light coming from his hands?"

"It is high levels of energy, it is similar to the energy that I detected in Loki's scepter, sir," Jarvis said.

"Really? Interesting, and where is the energy coming from?" Tony asked, "Is Sirius Black holding something in his hand, in his pocket?"

"It's coming from him, sir," Jarvis replied, "The energy is coming directly from Sirius Black himself."

Sirius took a turn and once again sped up the bike. As he headed toward the pier, an idea formed in his head, they were now going so fast they were just wind and a blur to anyone they passed. As the bike got closer to the shore, Sirius jumped over something and the bike went flying into the air, and over the ocean. And then with a loud bang like a gunshot, Sirius apparated away, taking Remus and the bike with him.

Tony Stark landed on the ground and looking out into the ocean. Thor landed next to him, a few seconds later, Bucky and Steve came running up.

"What the hell happened? Where did they go?" Steve demanded.

"They disappeared, one minute they were there, and next they were gone," Tony answered.

"You don't think?" Thor used Mjolnir to point at the water.

"No, at least I don't think so." Tony said, "Jarivs, call S.H.E.I.L.D. and tell them we need a dive team out here." He turned back to them. "Just in case."

7:05 pm December 6th, Wales UK

A loud bang sounded as a motorcycle appeared out of nowhere and slammed down on the ground, Sirius lost control as he pulled his magic back in, trying to stop the bike, which caused it to jerk, and Sirius and Remus fell off, as the bike fell on its side, and kept sliding until it stopped, just inches before crashing into the front of Loki's cabin.

Relieved that the bike didn't hit his home, Sirius sighed and closed his eyes; feeling exhausted, he could just lay there on the cold hard ground and go to sleep, Sirius had never used such a large amount of magic in his life, and that had been draining. Sirius lay there with his eyes shut for a long moment before rolling over on his back and looking up and the stars blinking at him. He couldn't help but laugh in relief.

"We did it, Moony." Sirius cried, "We got away."

A soft moan beside him made Sirius turn his head to the side to see Remus sitting up, he had taken the bag off his back, and was holding onto his shoulder, groaning with a painful look on his face.

"Moony?" Sirius said, immediately getting up and hurrying to him; he knelt next to Remus's side and made magic appears in one hand so he had light to see better; he wrenched when he saw blood all over Remus's hand. "You're hurt."

Sirius moved Remus's hand off his shoulder and gasped; his jumper was wet with blood, so Sirius pulled the color down gently, trying not to let the jumper touch his wound, and saw that Remus had a chunk of his shoulder missing.

"It hurts like hell," Remus said through clenched teeth.

"Looks like you splinched when I apparated us," Sirius said, running his hand through his hair; now that the airline of escaping was gone, his eye where Bucky had punched him was stinging and felt a little puffy, and Sirius figured his eye was bruised. "I'm so sorry."

"Not your fault," Remus said, flinching at the pain as he reached up and touched where the missing piece was.

"Don't do that," Sirius said, pushing Remus's hand away from his shoulder. "I'm rubbish with healing, you know that, I have no idea if Reigny would know how to heal something like this, and your werewolf healing may not be fast enough to stop you from losing too much blood, so I guess we'll go to St. Mungo's."

"That's fine with me," Remus said; Sirius stood, picked up the bag, and put it on his back, then stepped around to Remus's other shoulder, reached down, pulled him to his feet, put Remus's arm around the back of his neck, and Sirius's arm went around Remus's waist to hold him up.

"If we're lucky, Ted Tonks will be working tonight," Sirius said. "He'll fix you up, no questions asked."

"Just do me a favor, Padfoot," Remus said. "Don't splinch me again."

"I'll try," Sirius replied, and with that another loud bang sounded as Sirius apparated him and Remus away again.

AN: I wasn't trying to make any of the Avengers look weaker or anything like that but I needed Sirius and Remus to be able to escape, so, I made it where some of the Avengers wasn't there, but Jarvis alerted Tony about the mistake, and he contacted Thor, Clint was on his way to visit his family that's why he didn't show up, him and Bruce where both too far away to be back in time.

I don't know how fast Iron Man's suit could go, I looked it up, and that was of no help, all I really found was something saying some people believe it could go faster than an airplane, no idea if that's true, but I figured it's possible to at least be faster than a motorcycle when that's not being spelled to go faster. And when Sirius was escaping from The Avengers was around the same time Loki was threatening Rita Skeeter.

Sirius didn't try to mind control anyone because one last time that was an accident, and he dosen't know how he did it or to do it on purpose and two I can see that was something he would only do in extreme situations, like if it was life or death, something along those lines, because it's a little too much like what the Death Eaters do with the Imperius Curse.
