Chapter 35: The Third Task

Harry sat at Loki's table with his head in his hands. Sitting to his left was Sirius, and next to Sirius was Loki, then at the other end of the table was Ron, and then Hermione. It was a little more than two hours since someone murdered Barty Crouch; not long after Loki had arrived on the scene, she had Sirius, Harry, and Fleur grab ahold of her and teleported the three of them straight into Dumbledore's office, where Sirius explained what had happened. Dumbledore had sent Fawkes to alert the Ministry of Magic, and within twenty minutes Cornelius Fudge and a group of Aurors had arrived at the castle, then had gone out to search the grounds for any signs of the killer; meanwhile, the Hogwarts staff put the school on lockdown, after allowing the students from Drumstrang and Beaubatons to enter the building, every door leading out of the castle was locked and secured. Students from each school were in the Great Hall with the doors locked.

Well, all students except for three. Loki and Sirius decided staying behind and guarding Harry was more important than going out on the grounds searching for the killer. They decided the best place was to return to Loki's chambers, where they found Ron and Hermione waiting outside their door, having snuck off from McGonagall and the other Gryffindors to check on their friend after hearing Harry witnessed Crouch getting killed. When they entered Loki's chambers, they all sat around the table and barely said a word since arriving.

"I can't believe a murder happened here, at Hogwarts," Ron said. "Who would want to kill Barty Crouch?"

"A lot of people," Sirius replied.

"That's an awful thing to say." Hermione gasped.

"Hermione, you don't know Crouch like I do; he's done things you couldn't imagine. He wasn't a likable person even before throwing me into Azkaban," Sirius replied. "Though cursing someone from behind is a cowardly way to do it."

"What did Crouch do that was so bad?" Ron asked.

"To understand that, you'll have to understand what it was like during the war," Sirius said, drumming his fingers on the table until Loki reached over and stopped him.

"Make us understand then," Ron said. Sirius stared at him a moment.

"Alright, where to begin?" Sirius mumbled, "The wizarding world during the war was in chaos; there were reports of people being killed or disappearing coming into the Ministry almost daily. Voldemort and his supporters were damn near taking over, and none knew who they could trust and who they couldn't. Voldemort and his followers had a way of controlling people either by magic or threats. Most people feared leaving their homes, and many fled the country. And everyone was scared they'll return home one day to see the Dark Mark over their house and their loved ones dead inside."

"That's awful," Hermione said.

"It was." Sirius agreed."Now, Barty Crouch was a great wizard, and people rooted for him to become Minister, but he was also power-hungry and very outspoken against the dark side. When muggles started dying due to the war, the Ministry went into full panic, and Crouch turned more ruthless in his dealings with the Death Eaters; he soon started moving up in the Ministry quickly. Once he became head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, he gave the Aurors orders to kill rather than capture, permitted them to use the Unforgivables and fought violence with violence. I wasn't the only one he sent to the dementors without a trail."

"Is that why he didn't become Minister," Hermione asked.

"Maybe part of the reason," Sirius said, "People were saying he was too ruthless, he was acting no better than the Death Eaters, but Crouch also had plenty of supporters, witches, and wizards believing he was doing the right thing. That's how it was before I was locked. I was curious about Crouch's downfall and how Fudge got the job, so I asked around at the Ministery this past summer, and what I found wasn't too surprising considering I saw the boy being dragged into Azkaban not long after I arrived."

"Saw who?" Loki asked, looking just as engrossed in Sirius's story as the kids were.

"Couch's son," Sirius replied. "I didn't know then what he had done, but I learned he got caught with known Death Eaters."

"So, Crouch has a son that is a Death Eater?" Loki demanded.

"Was," Sirius corrected.

"Was?" Loki asked.

"He died in Azkaban," Sirius explained. "People at the Ministry claim there was never any real proof he was a Death Eater, but believe me, the three people he was with, you're not going hang around unless you are one."

"Who?" Ron asked.

"Bellatrix Lestrange, her husband Rodolphus, and his brother Rabastan," Sirius answered.

"So, Crouch tossed his own son in Azkaban?" Loki asked.

"He did," Sirius replied, "I saw the dementors bringing him in; he couldn't have been more than nineteen. They locked him in a cell near mine. He was screaming for his mother by nightfall. Within a year, he was dead."

"But...how did he die?" Hermione asked.

"Gave up, I assume," Sirius said, shivering as if reliving a bad memory. "He's not the only one who has died in Azkaban. Most don't last a year; they go mad in there, stop eating and lose the will to live."

Sirius stopped talking, and that haunting look that lingered in the back of his eyes suddenly became more pronounced, and Sirius just sat there staring off into nothing until Loki reached over and squeezed his hand.

"Love, you do not have to continue," Loki said gently; Sirius blinked and shook his head, and the haunting look faded.

"I'm alright," Sirius said, "Anyway, Crouch's son already looked sick when he arrived, and Crouch being an important member of the Minister, he and his wife were allowed a deathbed visit; they didn't stay too long about half an hour, then I saw Crouch half carrying his wife past my cell, she died herself shortly after."

They all fell silent again; no one spoke until Harry suddenly raised his head and spoke for the first time since arriving in Loki's chambers.

"Hang on," Harry said. "Mrs. Crouch was sick also?"

"Yes, not sure what was wrong with her; people who told me all this said she died from grief, let herself waste away once her son was locked in Azkaban," Sirius said.

"Sirius," Harry said, "Do you know what Crouch's son's name was?"

"Umm, I think it was Barty also," Sirius answered.

"How original," Loki mumbled, her lip curling up.

"Would his full name have been Bartemius like Mr. Crouch?" Harry asked. "And his dad most likely called him that."

"I guess." Sirius shrugged.

"I should have never let Bartemius out," Harry repeated Crouch's words.

"What?" Sirius demanded, "Harry, Crouch couldn't have been talking about his son."

"It would make more sense than him meaning himself," Harry argued.

"True, but Barty Jr died in Azkaban. I watched the dementors bury him from the window in my cell." Sirius countered.

"What if it wasn't Barty Crouch Jr but his Mum that the dementors buried?" Harry replied.

"I saw Crouch leave the prison with his wife, I just mentioned that a moment ago, kiddo," Sirius said.

"I know Dumbledore said last year disguises can't fool a dementor, but does that include Polyjuice Potion?" Harry asked, and Loki looked at him, surprised for a moment before a proud smile formed on her face.

"So, you think Crouch arrived at Azkaban with his wife but left Azkaban with his son?" Sirius asked.

"Yes," Harry said.

"Merlin, Harry, how did you come up with that idea?" Ron asked, "It sounds-"

"Possible," Hermione said, sounding impressed.

"I don't know," Sirius said, "Crouch sent his son to prison. I can't see someone like him willingly breaking someone out, even if it is his son."

"Not even if it's his wife's dying wish?" Harry demanded, remembering something Crouch had said before he died.

"Darling, just think about it," Loki said, "What Harry is saying makes sense."

"What if it went like this," Harry said, "Barty Crouch tossed his son into Azkaban, and his wife falls ill because of it, causing Crouch to feel guilty and blame himself, then when Mrs. Crouch is near death, she makes the one request to die knowing her son is out of that awful place. Crouch already feeling guilty agrees, they use Polyjuice Potion to make the switch, and for the next few years, Barty Jr is kept at Crouch's house, with Crouch having to take care of him while being paranoid someone will find out what he did, so when Barty escapes he's relieved at first. Then the weird disappearances start happening, and Crouch blames Barty and begins to worry about what he's up to and that someone will find him, which causes him stress. That's why Crouch looked sick at the second task."

"And then little Barty comes home and holds his father hostage trying to find out information on Harry," Loki added, "That's why he stopped going to work, then Crouch escaped, little Barty chases him down, and kills him, hiding in the trees of the forbidden forest."

"Damn, I think you're right," Sirius said after thinking about it for a moment.

"But why would he want information on Harry?" Ron asked.

"Maybe he thought he could use it to find information on where You-Know-Who is hiding." Hermione guessed.

"He might have wanted to find out if rumors of Harry not being James's son were true, hoping for information he could give Voldemort that's useful enough to stay on his good side if or when he returns," Sirius said.

Everyone fell silent with that thought, and an hour later, McGonagall showed up to take Ron and Hermione back to Gryffindor Tower after assuring them all that the grounds were clear, whoever had murdered Barty Crouch got away. There was no reason to believe the students and staff of Hogwarts were in any danger, but they were keeping the castle locked tight, and Aurors would be walking the castle grounds all night just in case.

The next day, Dumbledore canceled all classes due to neither the students nor the professors getting much sleep. When the morning mail arrived, it looked as if every owl in Britain had entered the Great Hall; almost every student and staff member had gotten letters from worried parents or family, demanding to know what happened and asking for return letters so they know their children were alright, Harry had gotten two letters, one from Andromeda and one from Tonks, asking for letters saying Harry, Loki, and Sirius were alright, Sirius also got two letters, but his letters were from Andromeda and Remus. When Harry entered the Great Hall that morning, Cho ran straight to him and hugged him; she had just learned Harry had seen Crouch killed.

The mood in the castle over the following days was gloomy. The Aurors stayed for a week before deciding it was safe enough to leave, which made it hard for the students to forget what happened and move on, Harry had nightmares about Sirius and Loki being the ones killed, and he could have sworn he saw a bit of relief in Sirius's eyes when he realized witnessing Crouch's murder had affected Harry. Ron and Hermione hardly left Harry's side, and Cho was now spending as much time with Harry as she could. Though her reason was being upset that Harry could have been the one murdered since no one had mentioned Voldemort or Crouch's son to her. Loki did, however, tell Dumbledore, who believed it possible also and relayed the news to Fudge, who brushed it off, saying Crouch's ramblings were just ramblings of a man who had driven himself insane. When the full moon came around, Sirius didn't stay gone as long as he usually did but hurried back to the castle as quickly as he could.

Sirius and Loki were now training Harry even more than before. Hermione, Ron, and even Cho were allowed in Loki's chambers to watch, and then the night before the tournament, Loki and Sirius surprised Harry with what Loki called Asgardian armor. It didn't look like armor to Harry. But he thought it looked cool anyway. The armor was black trousers, with frost blue strips on the thigh that was outlined in gold, the top was frost blue with long sleeves, with the same gold stripes that outlined the sides, and it had a matching cape, the inside was black silk and lined with gold, and had these pad things to fit over Harry's leather boots, that was the same color as the top, and trimmed in gold. Loki also made Harry some black fingerless gloves to wear with them.

"I made this for you, kiddo," Sirius said, sitting a gold-horned helmet on Harry's head.

"What do you think?" Loki asked, smiling. "I thought about making it green but decided to use your favorite color."

"I love it," Harry said. He knew he would look ridiculous wearing it, but his parents went through the trouble of making it for him, and he didn't care what people thought, besides, Harry thought it looked cool.

"The silk is from Asgard," Loki explained, holding it out and showing him; Harry saw Loki's symbol embedded at the bottom of his cape on the inside. "Only the richest can afford it."

"Thank you," Harry said, then shocked Loki by hugging her.

"Hey, what about me," Sirius asked; Harry pulled from Loki to hug Sirius.

"The helmet is wicked," Harry assured him; his parents may have been absent for most of his life, but they sure were making up for it now by being the best parents ever, in Harry's opinion.

Finally, it was the day of the Final Task, which wasn't until six that evening. After breakfast, Harry, Loki, and Sirius headed straight to the chamber from the staff table in the Great Hall to meet up with Andromeda and her family. To Harry's surprise, they weren't the only ones there either; Remus Lupin, Mrs. Wesaley, and Bill also showed up to watch Harry in the last task. Harry hugged Andromeda, then Tonks shook Ted's hand and greeted Remus, then turned to Mrs. Wesaley.

"It's nice of you to come," Harry said.

"I wouldn't miss it." Mrs. Wesaley said, hugging Harry; Bill shook his hand then. Mrs. Wesaley introduced herself to Andromeda, and Ted, gave Sirius a stiff hello and ignored Loki.

They spent the morning walking the castle grounds; Mrs. Wesaley told stories about her time at Hogwarts. Loki gave snarky comments that everyone but Sirius tried to ignore, who would snort, chuckle or laugh, even joining in at times, which made Remus tell them both to knock it off. Andromeda told a couple of stories about her time at Hogwarts. Harry was shocked to find out she had been in Slytherin. Then Sirius decided to tell about all the times he got in trouble, which had Bill, Tonks, and Harry laughing, and Mrs. Wesaley looking on disapprovingly. At lunch, they all ate in the Great Hall at the Gryffindor Table; Ron, his siblings, Hermione, and even Cho joined them. After lunch, they had to return to class while Harry and his visitors now explored the inside of the castle.

Finally, evening arrived, and Harry, too nervous to eat dinner, went to Loki's chambers with his parents and Remus to change into his armor. At a quarter to six, the four of them made their way down to the Quidditch Pitch. As they stepped off the bottom of the marble staircase, Harry heard someone call out to him, and he turned to see Cho motioning him to come over to her. Harry went over to see what she wanted.

"I just wanted to wish you good luck," Cho said, then she put her arms around Harry and gave him his first-ever kiss. It didn't last long, and when Cho pulled away, she followed Harry over to Loki, Sirius, and Remus, then Cho held his hand as the five of them walked down to the Pitch; Andromeda, Tonks, and Ted were standing just on the field a little ways from the hedges and the champions, Loki, Sirius, Remus and Cho stopped there too, all wished Harry good look, and Andromeda, Loki, and Sirius hugged Harry. Ted patted his back, Tonks told him to win, and Cho squeezed Harry's hand before letting it go.

Harry took a deep breath to try and calm his nerves, then walked off and joined the other three champions at the hedges where they all stood, at different entrances facing it. Cedric was on the end, then Wanda, Harry, then Fleur on the other end. All three of them looked both nervous and excited. Once Harry took a good look at them, he didn't feel so silly about his outfit anymore, not when they all were wearing something special for the task, Fleur in fancy slivery robes, Cedric in what looked like a muggle workout outfit, which was surprising, and Wanda was a dressed in black leather trousers, black top, and scarlet color leather jacket.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin." Bagman's magically magnified voice echoed into the stands. "Let me remind you how the points currently stand. "First place, with eighty-five points, Mr. Cedric Diggory of Hogwarts School."

There were loud cheers and applause, mostly coming from the Hufflepuffs.

"In second place, tied with eighty points, we have Ms. Wanda Maximoff of Durmstrang Institute and Mr Harry Potter of Hogwarts." More applause. "And in third place, Ms. Fleur Delacour of Beauxbatons Academy."

Harry glanced around. He saw Mrs. Weasley, Bill, Ron, and Hermione applauding halfway up the stands. Harry waved at them, and they waved back, beaming at him. He looked around at Loki, Sirius, Remus, the Tonkes, and Cho still standing on the field; they all waved at Harry, who waved back, then turned back to the hedges.

"Before we begin, I should tell you, if you get stuck or just can't go on, use your wand to cast red sparks in the air, and someone will come and get you," Bagman said, "Now, everyone ready? On my whistle, Cedric, you enter. Three, two, one,"

Bagman gave a short blast on his whistle, Cedric hurried forward into the maze, and Harry tried not to grow more nervous as he waited for his turn to enter.

"All right, Harry, Wanda at the sound of my whistle" Bagman counted down from three, then blew his whistle, and Harry glanced at Wanda, who glanced back at him, then bother turned and stepped into the maze.

Harry looked up at the towering hedges as they cast black shadows across the path, and, whether because they were so tall and thick or because they had been enchanted, the sound of the surrounding crowd was silenced the moment he entered the maze. Harry felt almost as though he were underwater again. He pulled out his wand and muttered.

"Lumos,"

Harry heard the whistle again, Fleur was now in the maze, and Cedric was most likely a bit ahead of him at the moment, but hopefully, Harry could catch up; he walked for about fifty feet, then came to a fork in his path, and stood there wondering which way he should go. Harry chose the path that looked completely deserted and turned right, holding his wand high over his head, trying to see as far ahead as possible. Still, there was nothing in sight. Harry kept looking behind him and to his sides. The feeling that he was being watched was becoming overwhelming. The maze grew darker with every passing minute as the sky overhead deepened to navy. He came upon a second fork. Harry decided to use a spell Sirius taught him, and holding his wand in the palm of his hand, Harry whispered.

"Point Me,"

The wand spun around once and pointed toward his right into the hedge. That way was north, and he knew he needed to go northwest to the maze's center. The best he could do was to take the left fork and go right again as soon as possible. The path ahead was empty too, and when Harry reached a right turn and took it, he again found his way unblocked. Harry didn't know why, but the lack of obstacles unnerved him. Indeed he should have met something by now. It felt like the maze was luring him into a false sense of security. Then he heard movement right behind him. Harry held out his wand, ready to attack, but its beam fell upon Cedric, who had just hurried out of a path on the right-hand side, looking severely shaken. The sleeve of his robe was smoking.

"Hagrid's Blast-Ended Skrewts." Cedric hissed. "They're enormous. I only just got away."

He shook his head and dived out of sight along another path. Keen to put plenty of distance between himself and the skrewts, Harry hurried off again. Then, as he turned a corner, he saw a dementor gliding toward him.

"Expecto Patronum,"

Harry shouted, and his shimmering golden wolf came charging out of the palm of his hand and straight at the dementor, who didn't move; Harry's heart nearly stopped for a second until it dawned on him.

"You're a boggart, not a dementor," Harry mumbled. He used the Riddickulus spell, and the boggart disappeared, but for some reason, his patronus was still there; it hadn't disappeared like they usually do, and Harry could feel it connected to his magic, getting an idea. He channeled more magic until he could feel it tingling in his fingers.

"Point Me,"

Harry said to the golden wolf. It turned around in a circle, then stopped and headed straight, amazed Harry hurried after it. Not only was his patronus showing him where to go, but it also had a lot of light radiating from it, casting everything in a golden glow and making it easy to see in the darkened maze. Harry followed as his wolf turned right, then left, then another left, then right again. Harry had no idea how he could get his patronus to stay or use a spell on it, and he wondered if having some of Loki's magic caused his magic to act differently as he followed the wolf when it took another turn.

"What..what are you doing?" Fleur's voice suddenly demanded from the other side of the hedge; Harry paused and listened. She sounded scared. "No...wait."

Fleur was cut off by the sound of something hitting the ground. Harry ran until he came upon a turn, took it, then ran back up the hedge and saw Fleur lying on the ground unconscious.

"Fleur," Harry said, running to her. He knelt beside her and rolled her over on her back. She was thankfully breathing. Assuming some creature had attacked her and figured it was too dangerous to leave her lying there, Harry shot red sparks into the air, then stood. He turned to the golden wolf that had followed him.

"Point me,"

The wolf turned in a circle again, then led Harry straight down a long path between tall hedges until it stopped before a creature and disappeared. Harry didn't know if it did that on its own or if the shock of seeing the large creature before him caused Harry to end the two spells accidentally.

Harry stood there watching it pace back and forth, the creature with the body of a lion, great claws paws, a long yellowish tail ending in tuff, and the head of a woman, and she looked at Harry with golden almond-shaped eyes. It was a Sphinx, a creature Harry had only seen in books, and she didn't look as if she was going to attack. Instead, when she saw him, she sat on her hind legs and spoke to Harry.

"You are very near your goal. The quickest way is past me," she said.

"So..umm..could you move," Harry asked, "Please," he added to sound polite.

"No," she said, amusement now in her voice. "you have to answer my riddle if you want to pass. Answer on your first try. I'll let you pass, answer it wrong. I attack. Remain silent, and I will let you walk away unscathed."

"Well, that's nice of you," Harry said sarcastically. The Sphinx was unimpressed by his attitude as she sat there staring at Harry, who was finding it hard to decide what to do; not only was the Sphinx staring at him, but it still felt as if he was being watched from either side of the hedges. Harry put his full attention back on the Sphinx. "Alright, give me your riddle."

"First, think of the person who lives in disguise. Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies. Next, tell me what's always the last thing to mend. The middle of middle and end of ends? And finally, give me the sound often heard for a hard-to-find word. Now string them together and answer me this. Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?"

Harry gaped at her and then asked if she could repeat it more slowly, the Sphinx did, and Harry replayed it in his mind a few times.

"Okay, let's see if I can answer it," Harry said, "The first part made me think of Loki, but I know you don't mean him. The rest doesn't fit."

"I haven't heard that name in nearly a century," the Sphinx said.

"You know Loki?" Harry demanded.

"Yes, I know, Loki. He guessed my riddle faster than anyone I have come across." the Sphinx said.

"Umm, okay." Harry decided he would make a note to ask Loki about this, but right now, he needed to get past it. "Could you repeat it a third time, please?"

The Sphinx did. And Harry got to thinking, a person in disguise, that lies...a spy, then the last thing to mend, middle to middle, end to end. Harry kept going over it in his head, the sound heard during a hard-to-find word, that would be the er sound. Then it clicked.

"Spider," Harry said, and the Sphinx smiled at him, got up, and moved out of the way. Harry gave himself a cheer and went on. Harry once again cast a patronus and, like before, used the point me spell to get it to point him in the right direction, and he hurried along. He turned right, then left, then right again, and there up ahead, the cup stood glowing in the night. Harry gave a shout, and his golden wolf disappeared since he didn't need it anymore, and Harry began to run towards the cup. But then he heard a creature whine and then something hit the ground on the other side of the hedge to his left. Harry stopped running and listened. Was another champion in trouble? Should Harry help or get the cup?

Harry pulled his wand out and blasted a hole in the hedge so he could look through. He saw what looked like a black furry something lying on the ground, he couldn't make out what, but it was some creature. Harry decided a champion must have stunned one of Hagrid's creatures to get by and that no one needed help. He turned from the hole in the hedge and ran toward the cup. He didn't see anyone near. Whoever knocked out the creature must have gone the wrong way. Harry might have a chance of winning this thing after all.

No sooner was that thought out of Harry's head than a creature that looked like a cross between a monkey and a frog came leaping out of the hedges from the left and attacked Harry, causing him to fall to the ground. It hissed, showing two rolls of sharp pointy teeth. Harry recognized the creature as a Clabbert.

"Get off me," Harry said, tossing it to the ground. It jumped up and went for Harry again, he cast a stunner at it, and the Clabbert fell to the ground, knocked out. Harry stood, dusted himself off, and continued to the cup when Cedric Diggory came running out of the hedges to the right in front of Harry and opposite from the hedge the noise came from. Cedric didn't even notice Harry as he ran straight to the cup. Harry took off running after him but then stopped and bent over to catch his breath; there was no way Harry would catch up with Cedric. He might as well just let him win, then they all could get out of this maze, and the tournament will finally be over.

Harry heard a movement and looked to the left to see an enormous black spider charging out of the hedges and heading straight toward Cedric, who hadn't seen it. Harry took off running toward them.

"Cedric, on your left," Harry shouted. "Acromantula!"

Hearing him, Cedric looked around in time to haul himself past the thing and avoid colliding with it, and Harry pointed his wand toward the spider.

"Stupefy!"

The spell bounced off the spider, so Harry started casting whatever spell came to mind, as did Cedric. Then deciding magic wasn't working, Harry put his wand away and ran toward it. When Harry made it to it he did what was probably the stupidest thing he has ever done in his life, and that was to jump onto the spider's back, and start punching it in the head. Which only angered it as it roared back. Trying to throw Harry off it, he grabbed it by the neck and held on, but then the spider reached back, grabbed Harry by the leg, and tossed him off. Harry went flying a few feet, his helmet flying off his head. As he landed on the ground and lay there momentarily, the wind knocked out of him.

"Harry, watch out!" Cedric yelled; Harry looked up to see the spider coming at him while Cedric threw spells at it and called it names, trying to get its attention. Harry appreciated Cedric's efforts but knew it wouldn't do any good, and he needed to defend himself another way. Harry reached into his boot and pulled out his dagger, jumped up, and waited for the spider to get close to him.

"Harry, what the hell are you doing?" Cedric yelled, "Run!"

And Harry did, but not in the direction away from the spider, but towards it, then did a slide and went up under the spider, brought his dagger up, and stuck it through the spider's neck. It made a scream-like noise as black slimy stuff poured out of it Harry, who moved over to avoid it, and he snuck the dagger further into the thing's neck, nearly taking its head clear off, before pulling his dagger out, and rolling out from under the spider, as he collapsed to the ground dead.

"Damn," Cedric said as Harry climbed to his feet. "I thought that thing was going to kill you."

"I did, too," Harry admitted. He leaned against the hedges and looked at the slimy black stuff on his knife and made a face, then wiped it off on his trousers before sticking it back in his boot.

"Are you alright?" Cedric asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Harry said. Cedric and Harry looked towards the Triwized Cup and then back to each other. "Go on, Take it."

"What?" Cedric demanded, "No, I can't. You just saved me from that spider, and you should take it."

"I didn't do much." Harry snorted, "Except make a fool of myself,"

"You stopped it from attacking me and killed that thing," Cedric said, "Though you did look like a fool jumping on its back." Harry laughed.

"Thanks a lot," Harry replied; Cedric grinned at him a moment before they both turned back to the cup. "Together then?"

"What?" Cedric demanded.

"We take the cup together." Harry suggested, "Make it a tie. It is a Hogwarts win either way."

"Alright, we tie for it." Cedric said, "Can you walk?"

"Yeah," Harry said. He stepped toward the cup as Cedric made his way to it, then both of them counted to three, and just as they grabbed a handle, Wanda Maximoff came running toward them.

"Cedric, no," Wanda yelled, but it was too late. Harry felt a tug on his navel, and he and Cedric disappeared.

AN: Since I am not having the whole thing about Barty Crouch Jr telling his story, I needed someone to figure it out, and decided on Harry, to show a little of his intelligence.

Harry's armor is based on the one Loki wears in the comics now, I just switched his jacket to a cape, and switched the color green to blue, if you're curious to what it looks like you can just search up Loki Agent of Asgard or Loki 2019 comics either will show you pictures of Loki in his, I'm not sure if I described it good tbh.

That's all for now, sorry if this chapter was a little shorter, next one will be longer.
