Chapter 50: Another Sirius Chapter.
"He is late," Loki grumbled as Sirius watched him pace back and forth, mumbling curses in a language Sirius assumed was Asgardain; he said nothing, just allowed Loki to rant. He has been in a grumpy mood lately; almost everything seemed to annoy Loki, who at the moment was growing impatient with Lucius Malfoy, he was five minutes late for their meeting. And an impatient Loki usually turned into an angry Loki.
"I'm sure he'll be here soon," Sirius said in a weak attempt to calm Loki down, or else he might kill Malfoy when he finally shows. Loki was already annoyed by the little news Lucius had lately. It would seem he was not as close to Voldemort as Malfoy once claimed, or Voldemort kept his most important plans for himself or possibly both.
"He better be," Loki replied. "Or else I'll kill him."
"You won't have a spy if you do that." Sirius pointed out he was leaning against the cave wall with his arms crossed and one ankle hooked over the other. He was wearing the usual black jeans and T-shirt, along with his leather jacket, the pocket watch Loki gave him still hung from his belt, and he still had his wallet with the chain in his back pocket; being employed at Hogwarts did not change Sirius' opinion on Muggle clothing being more comfortable and better looking than wizard robes, and though there was a school rule on students having to wear wizardry attire there was nothing in the school rules that said teachers did, likely an oversight, the school governors probably assumed they would, but fortunately for Sirius and Loki, it allowed them to ignore Umbridge's suggestions that they should wear them.
"I'll just put another Death Eater under mind control," Loki said as if it was the most obvious answer.
Sirius said nothing as Loki continued to pace. He was wearing his armor, minus his helmet, and holding his scepter, which, besides the moon shining in the cave entrance, was the only light source, as the Mind Stone glowed brightly in the dark; the very stone that had given Sirius his psionic abilities, which were still growing and evolving, The last time he mediated he accidentally lifted all the furniture in their bedroom, including the bed he was sitting on.
"If he hasn't found anything out about the Horcruxes, I should just kill him anyway," Loki said, "Not like he has been bringing us any useful information."
It probably wasn't the right time for Sirius' thoughts to stray to how good Loki looked in his armor or how hot he was when angry, but he didn't stop himself from thinking it, and the second those thoughts left his mind, Loki paused and turned to Sirius with a surprise look on his face.
"Did you hear my thoughts?" Sirius asked shock on his face. He felt a bit embarrassed when Loki started to laugh and stepped over to him.
"I didn't hear your thoughts, but I can feel them, your emotions, your attraction to me." Loki grinned.
"How?" Sirius wondered.
"It's a part of your empathy and telepathy. Not only can you sense someone's thoughts and emotions, but you can also implant thoughts and emotions in their minds, even communicate that way, but instead of sending out false ones, you accidentally sent me your own. Once you learn how you can use that ability to manipulate others." Loki said.
"So, I was able to send you my thoughts?" Sirius asked, "I thought no one could break into your mind."
"They usually can't," Loki said, laying his hand on Sirius' shoulder. "But I don't shut myself off to you, darling. I see no reason to."
"Because you trust me," Sirius asked, remembering Loki admitting that last year.
"You're the only person I do trust," Loki replied. "I've noticed you don't shut yourself off to me either. I've felt your emotions a lot lately."
"I have no reason to," Sirius repeated Loki's words. He smiled and rubbed Sirius' jaw with his thumb.
"Although, now that I know you are attracted to me when angry, maybe I should get mad more often." Loki joked.
"I'd rather you not," Sirius replied. Loki laughed, moved his hand to Sirius' chin, raised his head back a little, then leaned in and gave him a peck on the lips.
"We are similar in many ways, you and I," Loki noted, which was true; Sirius and Loki had a lot in common for a Midgardain wizard and an Asgardian God.
"That's why we are the perfect match," Sirius replied. He got off the wall and put his arms around Loki's shoulders, and they started kissing. Loki's arms went around Sirius and he pulled him closer to him; when suddenly there was a loud pop echoed in the cave, interrupting the two, and Loki let go of Sirius and turned around.
"You're late."
"I'm sorry, the Dark Lord was holding a meeting. I just got away." Lucius Malfoy said Loki pointed his scepter at him, and Malfoy flinched.
"You better have news I want to hear," Loki warned. Lucius glanced at Sirius, then back at Loki. He could tell by Lucius' fear he wouldn't say anything Loki liked.
"I have not found out anything about the Horcuxes-" Loki cut Malfoy off by rushing towards him, grabbing him by the throat, and lifting him in the air.
"Do you wish to die?" Loki demanded, "How am I supposed to kill Voldemort if you do not give me the information I need? I'm sick of the useless things you come to tell me, information I can do nothing with."
"Wait, I have news that might interest you." Lucius cried in desperation as he pulled on Loki's arm, trying to pull his hand off him. Loki looked at Sirius, who nodded and then let go of Lucius and let him drop to the cave floor.
"Spill," Loki demanded. He grabbed Malfoy's robes and roughly pulled him to his feet.
"The Dark Lord is still after the prophecy," Lucius said. Loki rolled his eyes. "He's growing more desperate to hear it."
"Yes, you say that every meeting, but yet you never tell us how he plans to get his hands on it," Loki said.
"He's planning to lure Potter to the Ministry," Lucius said, "So the Death Eaters can ambush Potter once he takes the prophecy from the shelf."
"And do you know how he plans to lure Harry there?" Loki demanded.
"No, sir," Lucius said.
"I thought you were his right-hand man, Lucius?" Loki said, "Dose Voldemort not share his plans with you? What use are you to me if not?"
"I have more news," Lucius said, his eyes widening. "The Dark Lord has Hydra working on something. I'm unsure what, but he grows impatient with getting it done."
"What do you mean, not sure what?" Loki asked. "How is this useful if you can not tell me what they are making?"
"I believe it's something to make him and his sister more powerful; he's became more desperate ever since Wanda Maximoff nearly killed him," Lucius said.
"Hold up," Sirius said, "Wanda Maximoff did what?"
"She nearly killed the Dark Lord. I was there. I saw it," Lucius answered, "So did many others. We were all gathered at a meeting when Maximoff and her brother came busting into the room, and she attacked the Dark Lord. If it weren't for Bellatrix and her team coming to his aide, she likely would have killed him."
"What had upset her?" Loki demanded.
"The Dark Lord fulfilled his promise to the Maximoffs to end the war in Sokovia by sending Bellatrix and her team to attack and kill everyone there," Lucius said.
"Fuck, " Sirius swore, running his hand through his hair, "I knew Voldemort was evil, but damn."
"This is why we need to find his Horcruxes," Loki said, "so we can kill him once and for all; if Wanda had succeeded that day, all it would have done was cause Voldemort to need a new body. He wouldn't be truly dead."
"What do you mean by Bellatrix and her team?" Sirius asked.
"The ones that broke out of Azkaban," Lucius said, "The Dark Lord made them their own team. He put Bellatrix in charge. They are the ones that go out and do his dirty work."
"Where are the Maximoffs now?" Loki asked.
"No one knows," Lucius said, "The Maximoffs haven't been seen since that day. The Dark Lord has a hit out on them. The first Death Eater to kill them will be rewarded beyond their dreams."
"That's not going to be as easy as the Death Eaters think." Sirius said.
"Hopefully, they'll all end up killing each other," Loki said, then turned back to Lucius. "Any other information that may be useful?"
"The Muggle, Rumlow, is a werewolf now," Lucius said. "So are many other Hydra fools."
"How?" Sirius demanded. "Did Greyback bite them?"
"No, although he did help them through the first full moon," Lucius said, "They were injected with the blood of a werewolf."
"Greyback probably gave them his blood." Loki scowled. He has never met the werewolf and doesn't even know what he looks like, but he still hates the creature.
"We need to warn Remus," Sirius said. Loki put his arm around Sirius.
"We will," Loki replied, then turned back to Lucius. "Anything else?"
"No,"
"Then be gone out of my sight before I decide this information is useless to me," Loki said.
With a loud pop, Lucius was gone, and Loki pulled Sirius closer to him and teleported them back to Hogwarts, right into their bedroom. Sirius pulled away from him, removed his jacket, put it on the back of a chair, unhooked his pocket watch from his belt, took his wallet out of his pocket, and sat them on the desk in front of the chair.
"We didn't find anything out about the Horcuxes," Loki grumbled, "And it looks like my information has led the Avengers nowhere."
"They found one. We will destroy it during winter break," Sirius said, sitting on the foot of the bed.
"That'll be the first thing we do once we get to Grimmauld Place." Loki agreed as Sirius started untying his boot.
"I shouldn't have been surprised with what Voldemort had done to Sokoiva, not after what he did to Little Hangleton," Sirius said.
"Indeed," Loki said, laying his scepter on the bed next to Sirius. "It's a relief the Maximoffs are not working for Voldemort anymore; he's down two powerful followers."
"Unless the Death Eaters double-team her, they have no chance against Wanda Maximoff. I had to use psionic abilities and wizardry when she and I dueled at the World Cup." Sirius said removing his boot, then turned to untie the other one.
"Well, the Death Eaters do run in packs," Loki said, "They don't exactly fight fair."
"That's true." Sirius agreed, pulling off his other boot, then stood.
"This trying to lure Harry worries me," Loki said.
"Dose me too," Sirius admitted, walking to the wardrobe. "But, there's no way he can get his hands on him here at Hogwarts, and when on break, he'll be with us at Grimmauld Place. It's under the Fidelius Charm, and you're the Secret Keeper; no one can get in there without your say."
"I think it's time we take Harry to the Ministry and get the prophecy," Loki said, "Let Snape give Voldemort the news that we took it; that should stop him from trying to get it."
"Or, cause him to want to trick Harry into bringing it to him," Sirius said, taking off his shirt and tossing it to the floor. He turned his back to Loki as he searched the wardrobe for something comfortable to sleep in.
"Not if we destroy the damn thing," Loki said.
"True," Sirius said, choosing a pair of joggers to wear. He took off his jeans and tossed them to the floor. "I'll warn Remus in the morning about the werewolves." he slipped on the joggers. When Sirius first found out Remus had gone on the Horcrux Hunt, he was upset and argued with Remus about it, but after a while, he cooled down and decided it was probably a good idea that Remus had gone with them. Of course Remus threatening to never speak to Sirius again if he didn't stop being overprotective of him helped Sirius see reason.
"Tell him about the Maximoffs also," Loki suggested, going over and picking up the clothes Sirius threw on the floor. "Just in case they run into them."
"Yeah, good idea," Sirius said; he walked over to the bed, picked up Loki's scepter, and leaned it against the wall.
"I'd almost feel sorry for them if they hadn't tried to get our son killed," Loki said as he dropped Sirius' dirty clothes in a laundry basket; then, with a wave of his hand, his armor turned into pajamas, and he headed over to his side of the bed.
"Something that's worrying me is this thing with Hydra trying to make Voldemort more powerful," Sirius said.
"We'll have to mention it to either Rogers or Barens," Loki said, "They've dealt with Hydra for decades. They might have an idea of what they could be up to."
Sirius and Loki turned down the covers, and both got in bed, then laid down and pulled the covers over them. Loki was on his side, facing Sirius, and Sirius lay the opposite way. Loki put his arm around his waist.
"Reigny."
"Yes, darling."
"I love you," Sirius replied. Loki chuckled and kissed his shoulder, pulled Sirius a little closer to him, and it wasn't long before they drifted off to sleep.
Loki and Sirius have been getting along better this week, but in the last couple of weeks, they have been arguing some. Harry was the main source of their arguments. They both knew their son was still dealing with what happened in June, and they both knew Harry wasn't getting much if any sleep. He mostly picked at his food during meal times, and they both knew they had to do something before Harry collapsed from exhaustion but couldn't agree on how best to help him. Sirius thought the best way to go about it was to leave Harry be, keep an eye on him, and allow him to come to them when he was ready. Loki had scoffed at that idea and wanted to go to Harry and force him to talk, something Sirius believed would make everything worse and probably make Harry mad at them. Loki said Harry's health and mental state were at risk, and it was time for them to stop worrying about whether or not Harry was mad at them and start worrying about actually helping him. Sirius knew Loki was right, but so far neither had the guts to force Harry to talk to them.
"I have a question," Loki said the following evening as she entered her and Sirius' chambers. Sirius was sitting on the sofa with his legs propped up on the coffee table, reading Loki's book on psionic abilities.
"What's that?" Sirius asked, not looking up from the book.
"If I murder the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic, do you think it would hurt my chances of becoming Minister of Magic?" Loki asked. Sirius paused in his reading and looked up with an eyebrow raised.
"It might, a bit, yeah," Sirius replied, "What did Queen Toad do now?"
"Ugh, do not call her a Queen. That woman could never be royalty," Loki said as she held a piece of parchment out to Sirius, who took and read it. "She had a smug look when she handed me that."
"She put you on probation." Sirius said, "and the school governors approves of it, this is bullshit. You're the best teacher in the whole damn school."
"Delores Umbridge is starting to really tick me off." Loki said.
"The first thing you have to do when you become Minister is fire her arse." Sirius said, handing the letter back to Loki.
"Oh, I already planned on doing that." Loki said, she sat down crumbled up her letter, and tossed it into the fireplace as Sirius returned to the book. After a moment, Loki turned a little on the sofa so she could lay her legs across Sirius'.
"I wonder where Harry is," Loki mumbled, "he didn't come to visit us this evening, and I didn't see him anywhere in the castle."
"He's probably in Gryffindor Tower hanging out with his friends," Sirius replied. He looked at Loki and almost laughed. "Are you pouting?"
"No," Loki crossed her arms, and Sirius did laugh that time.
"Baby, our son is fifteen. He isn't going to want to hang around his parents all the time," Sirius said. "Kids his age prefer hanging with their friends. And if being with his friends helps him with what he's been going through, we should leave him be."
"Two years," Loki said, "We only have two more years, and Harry will be an adult. We missed so much of his life."
"I know," Sirius said. "We'll still get to see him when he's an adult."
Loki snorted, "Hardly any. As he gets older, he'll move out, possibly get a job, go out with friends, have lovers, and be so busy, we'll be lucky to see him once a month."
"Reigny-"
"I should have never abandoned Harry," Loki interrupted, "Then maybe he wouldn't be pulling away from us now."
"Neither of us should have." Sirius agreed. "We'll make it up to him."
Loki looked at Sirius briefly, then moved her legs to his lap and laid down. Sirius went back to his book while he used one hand to rub Loki's leg in an attempt to help her relax.
As October arrived, it brought with it cooler temperatures, along with windy days. The sky stayed cloudy as the leaves started to change colors and fall from the trees. Sirius quickly became a favorite professor among the students of Hogwarts. Not only was he great at teaching, but he was also fun, didn't talk down to the students, and didn't ridicule those who had trouble in class. Sirius was patient and helped them until they got the hang of it. He was especially a favorite among the Gryffindors like Loki was, and the fact he was a former Gryffindor just made them like Sirius that much more. That and being Harry's dad and in a relationship with their other favorite teacher, Professor Ikol, either the students thought he was cool or they thought he was gorgeous; either way, Sirius was popular at Hogwarts, even most of the other professors liked and respected him.
"There are plenty of spells that you may not think of that can surprisingly, come in handy during a duel," Sirius said, "There is Rictusempra, the spell that causes your opponent to laugh uncontrollably, and Tarantallegra, the curse to cause your opponent's legs to dance uncontrollably, are two great examples you can use to catch your opponent off guard and get the upper hand, even Wingardium Leviosa can be useful in a duel."
"The Levitating charm?" Dean asked, "How can that help?"
"You'll be surprised," Ron mumbled. Hermione and Harry laughed, and Sirius smiled. Having heard the story of the troll in their first year, Sirius knew what Ron was talking about.
"Ron is right; you would be surprised," Sirius said, pulling his wand out of his back pocket and pointing it to an empty bean bag chair. It rose in the air. "The spell can be useful. You can levitate objects to block spells or if you know the right wand movement -" Sirius twirled his wand, then flicked it, and the bean bag flew across the room, slammed into a wall, and fell to the floor. "You can use it to throw objects at your opponent."
"Wicked," Dean said.
"Indeed, but that's not what you will be learning today," Sirius said. "Today, we are learning about the Knockback jinx. What that is is a jinx that knocks your opponent back. The incantation for it is Flipendo. I want you all to stand in front of one of the dummies and pull your wands out."
The class stood and stepped over to the practice dummies that now lined one side of the room and pulled out their wand. Sirius walked over to Neville Longbottom, who was first in line, told him the incantation again, and showed him the right wand movements for the spell.
"Alright, Neville, give it ago," Sirius said. Neville copied Sirius' movements and said the jinx, white light came from the end of his wand, hit the dummy, and it moved back slightly. "Not bad for the first time; keep practicing." Sirius stepped over to Dean, who was next to Neville. He tried it, and his dummy flew back a few inches. "Not bad, keep practicing."
Sirius walked down the line, showing each student the proper wand movement, and sometimes had to repeat the incantation. Only a few had to try it more than twice; some got it on the first time, most on the second. It wasn't a complicated spell, and Sirius was a patient teacher, except for when it came to Lavender's giggles and Parvati's constant blushing whenever Sirius came to them.
"Girls, come on, let's take this class seriously," Sirius said with a bit of impatient in his voice; knowing Professor Black's first name, his using the word seriously only sent both girls into fits of giggles, causing Sirius to threaten to take points if they didn't stop, they didn't, and Sirius didn't take points.
"Alright, kiddo," Sirius said, finally reaching Harry, "show me what you can do."
Harry nodded, looking focused as he pointed his wand at the dummy. Sirius noticed that Harry had on a long-sleeve shirt under his robes that had a hole cut in the sleeve, with his thumb stuck through it. He started doing that weeks ago when he had detention with Umbridge. Sirius first thought it was some weird fashion trend, but now Sirius felt as if there was a whole different reason for it. He had this weird feeling Harry was trying to hide his hands because he'd always been grateful for the new clothes Sirius and Loki bought him; Sirius couldn't see Harry purposely cutting them for some fashion trend.
"Flipendo"
The jinx flew from the end of Harry's wand with such force it hit the dummy and knocked it back against the wall so hard it bounced off and fell over onto the floor.
"Well, you won't have any trouble with that jinx," Sirius said, a little surprised as he waved his wand and sat the dummy upright.
"I already knew it. You taught me during training at home," Harry said, his face red as the other Gryfindors stared at him.
"True," Sirius said, "But it was never that powerful."
"I'm sorry, I don't mean-"
"It's okay, kiddo," Sirius said; he reached out and squeezed Harry's shoulder. His magic had been getting stronger ever since he activated his Jotunn gene on top of Loki teaching him his type of magic, but Harry was usually able to control it; at this moment, he could feel Harry's magic coming from him, along with fear and anger. Although Harry knocking the dummy down gave Sirius an idea, what Harry needed was an outlet, a place to release his anger, and Sirius knew just the room to do it in. If his idea worked, he might be able to get Harry to talk to him. Sirius will have to figure out a way to get Loki to allow him to do it by himself so Harry won't feel overwhelmed or ganged up on. Since he did disagree with the idea of them going to Harry, he felt a little hypocritical.
That night Sirius told Loki about his idea, she agreed it was a good one, and might possibly work, but it took Sirius five days to convince her to let him do it alone, and on Saturday morning Sirius approached Harry in the Great Hall and told him to meet him on the Seventh Floor, at the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy, after breakfast, Harry did so without complete and Sirius walked three times by the wall to Harry's surprise a door appeared. Sirius led him into a large room with metal shelves lined the back walls, filled with breakables, plates, glasses, mugs, figures, and even snow globes.
"What is this place?" Harry asked, looking around.
"The Room of Requirement. I found it in my fourth year. You just pace by the wall three times and think of what kind of room you need, and it'll provide it," Sirius explained.
"And you needed shelves full of breakables?" Harry asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Nope." Sirius replied, "You do."
"Me?" Harry demanded as Sirius approached a shelf and picked up a mug. "What do I need all that stuff for?"
"To break," Sirius said, then tossed the mug at the wall. It shattered, causing Harry to startle a little, and then Sirius picked up a snow globe. "I was younger when I used to come in here, when everything became too much. I'd ask the room for something to release stress, which the room gave me. Breaking things helped me, so I figured it'd give you an outlet to remove some of the anger you are holding back.
"I'm not-"
"Kiddo, I can feel your anger from here," Sirius said.
"Sirius, I'm fine, really," Harry said.
"Harry, it's only been five months since you were kidnapped by Voldemort aided by a girl you had a crush on and witnessed a classmate's death and was forced to take part in a ritual that brought Voldemort back and was nearly killed, so don't give me that bullshit line that you are fine," Sirius said, he suddenly threw the snow globe at the wall. It shattered, leaving a water spot that was dripping down the wall.
"Sirius-"
"Harry," Sirius said, patiently, "you are forgetting I can fill your emotions; you are feeling scared, angry, and in pain. You can't go on bottling all that up; you have to let it out, or it will consume you, and you'll end up doing something you will regret the rest of your life."
"Is that what happened when you nearly killed Snape in your fifth year?" Harry demanded.
"Harry-"
"I am fine, Sirius. I'm over what happened in June," Harry said; he turned and headed towards the door, but when he tried to open it, it wouldn't open. He turned back to Sirius, anger on his face. "Did you get this room to lock me in here?"
"No, I'm holding the door closed with my telekinesis, actually," Sirius replied. He propped his arm up on a shelf and leaned against it with his hand on his hip.
"Sirius, please. I'm fine, you don't have to worry. I can deal with everything alone. June was ages ago." Harry said.
"Five months wasn't ages ago, kiddo," Sirius replied.
"I just want for it to have never happened. " Harry said, "So, I just don't think about it. I'm fine that way."
"Didn't I say not to give me that I'm fine bullshit?" Sirius asked, "Hell, Harry, you were right a moment ago. My fifth year was the school year after the summer I ran away from home. I refused for months to talk about what happened . I bottled up on that hurt and anger and spent the year taking it out on Slytherins by pranking and attacking them until Snape retaliated, so I got back at him by telling Snape how to get into the Shrieking Shack."
"Sirius…I-"
"And yes, Harry, I do regret my actions, not because I give a damn about Snape, but because I nearly got Moony in a lot of trouble, and he and James wouldn't speak to me for two months," Sirius said, "I've seen how you've been ignoring the taunts from Malfoy and his friends, lately, and I don't want you to end up blowing up, and doing something stupid like I did."
"Nothing like that is going to happen," Harry said. Sirius signed and ran his hand through his hair. He would have to get Harry angry, which meant he would have to say something he didn't mean or want to say, hopefully, Harry will understand and forgive him.
"Well, in that case, you've lost your backbone, Kiddo," Sirius said, and Harry's eyes widened in shock.
"What?"
"The fighting spirit I used to admire about you is gone. You've allowed yourself to turn into a wimp who hides at the first sign of trouble," Sirius said, "You used to stand up for yourself and others, but now, you hide behind Ron Weasley."
"I do not!" Harry screamed, and some gold magic flew from his fingertips, as he marched towards the shelves. "Fine, if you want me to break stuff."
Harry angrily snatched up a glass frog and threw it at Sirius, who dodged it, and it hit the wall behind him; then Harry grabbed a plate and slung it across the room; on and on Harry went, grabbing anything within reach, and tossed it at the wall, on the floor, at the ceiling, he didn't think, he just threw. Once one shelf was empty, he moved on to the next shelf; when he got done with the second shelf, Harry stepped to the middle of the room, took a deep breath, and then let out a scream as gold magic flew from his hands, Sirius threw up a shield charm, as it hit the breakables on the shelves and they shattered glass pieces going everywhere.
When he was done, Harry dropped to the floor and sat against the wall, took his glasses off, tossed them down, pulled his legs to him, laid his head on his knees, and cried.
"Is it safe to come near you?" Sirius asked. Harry nodded, and Sirius stepped over and sat beside him and reached over and rubbed Harry's back as he cried. After a long moment, Harry stopped, raised his head, and whipped his eyes.
"Feel better?" Sirius asked.
"I do, actually," Harry admitted. Sirius conjured a handkerchief and handed it to him. "Thanks."
"I'm sorry about everything I said," Sirius said.
"Don't worry about it," Harry said, "I know you were just trying to get me angry."
"I didn't mean any of it."
"I know," Harry replied, "Sorry I threw a frog at you,"
"I deserved it." Sirius said and bumped Harry's shoulder with his. He smiled a little, "If you ever need to talk about something, your mother and I are here for you. You can talk to us about anything."
"I know," Harry replied, "It's just hard. I've never had anyone who cared enough to listen."
"I know how that is, believe me, Harry," Sirius said, "I grew up in an uncaring family, remember? It's one of the reasons I gave you to James and Lily. I didn't know the first thing about caring about a kid, because mine never cared for me. James and Lily were loved and adored by their parents. I had wanted that for you. I had wanted you to have a loving family. I knew I would be a shitty dad," Sirius said.
"You're not, though," Harry said, "You're a good dad, I just…I don't know how to talk to someone about my feelings,"
"I'm going to tell you what James once told me," Sirius said, "Just open your mouth and talk." Harry snorted. "I know, it's not that easy."
"Do you regret not keeping me?" Harry asked.
"Every damn day, kiddo," Sirius said, he reached out and pushed Harry's hair out of his face. "I know your mother regrets leaving us. We both wish we would have kept you,"
"I wish I hadn't suggested Cedric take the cup with me. Then he'd be alive. " Harry said. "I feel like a coward every time I flinch at loud noises. I'm pretty sure my friends are talking about me behind my back. Cho is starting to find reasons she can't hang out with me. I think it's her friends; they all think I'm crazy."
"Why would they think that?" Sirius demanded, trying to remember who Cho hung out with, already deciding to find reasons to take points next time they had his class.
"I saw these skeleton horse things pulling the school carriages when I got off the train. It frightened Cho so much that she climbed into a carriage with her friends and refused to go to school with me. She apologized the next day, and everything seemed alright between us, until latley." Harry explained.
"Thestrals," Sirius said. Harry looked at him.
"What?" Harry demanded.
"You're not hallucinating. Those skeleton horses are called Thestrals. None of your classmates can see them because you only can if you've seen death," Sirius explained.
"So, they are real?" Harry asked.
"Yes, of course, they are real, Harry. If you believe you are having hallucinations, you come tell your mother or me right away because that's a serious problem that can affect you." Sirius said.
"I know. I just haven't wanted to worry you." Harry admitted, "You have enough to deal with."
"We're your parents. It's our job to worry," Sirius said, "You can come to us with anything, and we'll do our best to help. You can't go on keeping everything to yourself. It's not healthy. That's something both your mother and I learned the hard way."
"Do you think Loki regrets what he did in New York?" Harry asked.
"I do," Sirius said, and Harry hesitated a second, then laid his head on Sirius' shoulder.
"I just wish my life was normal," Harry said.
"Who wants a normal life? It'd be boring." Sirius joked, getting a smile from Harry. "Is there anything else you need to tell me?"
"I don't sleep anymore," Harry admitted," I don't allow myself to. Every time I do, I have nightmares."
"You're spending the night in your room, not Gryffindor Tower," Sirius said, "You're sleeping tonight if I have to stay up all night to make sure."
"What about my nightmares?" Harry asked.
"Reigny and I will be there if you need us." Sirius replied, "perhaps tonight you can take some Dreamless Sleep Potion, you haven't had any in a while, you just can't take it too often that potion can be additive."
Harry yawned, as he listened to Sirius ramble, talking about sleeping made him realize how exhausted he was, and though he tried to fight it Harry's body decided it didn't want to wait until tonight, and his eyes closed, and he soon fell asleep with his head still on Sirius's shoulder, where he felt safe.
AN: Not much to put here, I just wanted to show Sirius and Harry bonding, and move passed his nightmares and stuff, he'll still have some, but he'll be better.
I wasn't trying to make Lucius look like wimp, he didn't try to curse Loki or anything because he's under Mind Control, and fears him a little because it's stopping him from being able to defend himself.
