The Chronicles of Naruto the Bizarre Pokémon Trainer
Suggestion by: Aclux
Crossovers: Pokemon, Jojo's Bizarre Adventures
Pairing: Naruto x Nico Robin (One Piece)
Kanto Region, Ketchum Residence
In the Ketchum household, one Delia Ketchum can be seen walking up to her son's room. Being a single mother was difficult, but it was even more difficult when this single mother was a mother of two children. Even worse, today was the day they would pick up their pokemon from Professor Samuel Oak.
Ash and Red Ketchum, her twin sons that she loved dearly were already 10 years old. Like any loving mother, Delia was worried for their well being especially since they would travel the world and face many pokemon that were very likely going to treat them with hostility.
"Well at least Red is well prepared." Delia said as she saw her younger son get up bright and early to get his pokemon. Sadly, her older son Ash was still asleep, "Why was he up so late?" she asked as she wondered what went on in her child's head.
Upon opening the door, Delia saw that her son's pokeball themed alarm clock was on the ground and shattered. Delia sighed at the sight and went to wake up her son. Sadly the boy was still in deep sleep and muttering about his potential adventures with his pokemon.
"Gotta... catch 'em all." Ash muttered.
"Ash please wake up. You're going to be late." Delia said as she tried to shake him awake to no avail.
Then suddenly something popped into Delia's head.
"This is an ancient technique passed between son to father in most families. Whether this is used against strong enemies or angry women won't matter. As it only works if you put in the effort."
"Run away!" Delia yelled as Ash just continued to snooze. "No, that wasn't it." she said to herself.
"Sometimes people need to learn tough love. So you need to kick their a- er, their butts."
"I'm sorry sochi, but... ORA!" Delia yelled as she slapped his stomach with a lot of force.
"GAH! KAA-CHAN!" Ash yelled as he sat up and clutched his stomach.
Delia cried anime tears, "I'm sorry, but you wouldn't wake up Ash. I don't want to hurt you, but you're going to be late." she said as Ash looked at his shattered alarm clock.
"Ah crud! I gotta go kaa-chan!" Ash yelled as he put on his sneakers and ran out without changing his clothes.
"Sochi wait!" Delia called out only to see that it was too late.
Professor Oak's laboratory
After a run in with Professor Oak's arrogant grandson, Gary, Ash walked into the professor's office and found his brother waiting for him.
"Finally awake nii-san?" Red asked.
Ash scratched his head sheepishly, "I got too excited and someone broke into my room and smashed my alarm clock." he partially lied.
Red nodded, "Yeah someone who says he's going to be a pokemon master." he said sarcastically.
"Anyways Professor Oak, where are the pokemon?" Ash asked as he returned to his excitement.
Professor Oak led him to the container holding the starter pokemon. As this is the Kanto region, the starter pokemon are Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. Like most regions, they make up the standard water, fire and grass types for first time trainers. Sadly for Ash he quickly realized that Squirtle and Bulbasaur were already taken which left him with the Charmander pokeball.
"Ok Charmander here we go!" Ash said as he tossed the pokeball only for nothing to come out.
"The early bird gets the worm or at the very least, the bird that woke up early enough to catch the last worm." Professor Oak said as he looked at Red.
"Otouto?" Ash asked as he saw Red give him a sheepish grin and revealed his own pokeball.
"Sorry nii-san." Red said as he released his pokemon and revealed a Charmander.
"Is there anything left?" Ash asked as he felt dejected.
Professor Oak made a thinking pose as he wanted to give the poor boy a chance, "I do but he might be a bit difficult to work with." he said as he lead Ash to one last pokeball.
Taking the pokeball, Ash released the pokemon inside to reveal a yellow mouse with a strangely shaped tail, "Wow!" Ash said excitedly.
"Meet Pikachu, an electric type." Professor Oak said as Ash picked Pikachu up and hugged him.
"I'll take him and..."
"Pika-CHUUUUUU!" with that, Pikachu had electrocuted everyone in the room.
"Nii-san, I'm buying you a spare alarm clock." Red said as he didn't want to imagine the bad things that would come with his older twin waking up late.
Outside
The Ketchum twins were greeted by the sight of their mother and some fellow townspeople from Pallet town. Upon approaching the crowd, Delia immediately pulled out two backpacks with all their stuff.
"Alright boys listen up! I have everything you need. Clothes, underwear, spare underwear, rubber gloves, socks, medical kit..." and so and so forth, Delia gave them everything they needed.
Then Pikachu electrocuted everyone again, "It's a good thing your mother gave you two rubber gloves. Now you have something to hold Pikachu and you won't worry about him conducting electricity." Professor Oak said.
"This is going to be a long journey." Red muttered.
"Anyways you two, before you go on. Let me give you a word of advice." Delia said.
'Here it comes.' both boys thought as they assumed they would get lectured about behavior, calling their mother every chance they get and likely about changing their underwear every day.
"You two may be old enough to explore the world but that doesn't make you both invincible. So you two need to have each others backs. Second, you aren't the only trainers out there so even if you battle with others, try to make friends. Most importantly... even if you go your separate ways and make friends along the way. Never forget the bonds you make ok?" Delia asked as both boys nodded and hugged their mother. "No go out there and make everyone proud you two!" she said.
"Yes!" they said at the same time as the travelled to the main road that would lead to Veridian City.
Meanwhile Delia was left wondering one thing, 'Maybe someday, you'll meet someone amazing like nii-san.' thought before seeing an image of a tall man wearing a black coat with a black hat.
A few days later, Cerulean city
Things were rather interesting for the Ketchum twins. From what started off with Pikachu refusing to be cooperative, had turned into disaster. First they dealt with a swarm of Pidgeottos, Beedrills, stealing some girl's bike which ended up getting destroyed by Pikachu's lightning, meeting some weird thieves called Team Rocket after arriving at Viridian city and a whole lot more.
Apparently the bike owner's name is Misty and she's a water type pokemon trainer. She started following the brothers after Ash stole her bike when trying to escape the forest. Red managed to arrive and calmed down the situation. However Misty now refuses to leave them alone until Ash pays her back.
Then they arrived at Pewter city and met an older teen named Brock who was the gym leader of Pewter city. Misty was charitable enough to offer her own pokemon to help the two battle Brock since rock types are weak against water. Of course the two had their pride and needed to learn on their own, so they refused and tried using their own pokemon.
However Pikachu and Charmander were badly beaten by Brock's Onix. After meeting a man named Flint, who at the time was selling rocks for some odd reason, he revealed that Brock has been on his own and had to raise his nine younger siblings. This lead to the boys having to rethink their strategy and it involved Pikachu getting a boost of power through electricity.
Ash beat Brock through a sort of unorthodox means involving a fire sprinkler going off and electrocuting Onix. However Ash couldn't finish seeing as Brock's siblings got in the way. Then some lesson about treating pokemon with respect later, and Ash decided to quit seeing as Onix was too hurt. Red also didn't want a rematch seeing as Onix was already hurt. However Brock refused to let them leave without giving them each a badge for participating.
Brock explained that he was into breeding and growing pokemon rather than making them battle. That's when Flint revealed himself and removed his disguise and admitted that he was Brock's father and was too ashamed to see his family after failing to become successful as a pokemon trainer. Flint said he was willing to return home so Brock could face his own dream and join Ash. Which Brock was okay with so long as Flint understood the long list of chores to expect from his many siblings.
Happy that they've received their badges, Ash and Red travelled with Brock to Cerulean city while Misty was rather adamant in trying to convince them to head elsewhere. Ironically the boys did try to run away from Misty earlier seeing as she wouldn't leave them alone, but she continued to stick with them.
And finally, the group arrived to find the Cerulean city gym. Rumor has it that there was some kind of aquatic show earlier but just missed it. Instead they saw three slightly older teen girls who were being hounded by some man in a white jacket and hat.
"...and you're gym leaders for kami's sake. You can promote your show all you want to gather an audience, but you don't give away badges like free candy!" said the man.
"Geez, someone's an angry customer." Red muttered as Ash nodded.
"Hey you think those girls are the gym leaders?" Ash asked as he paid attention to the conversation.
"Probably, maybe we can get our badges at once nii-san." Red said thinking they could take on an individual gym leader at a time.
Meanwhile Misty looked conflicted and Brock would have said something had he not not noticed the logo on the man's hat when he turned around. Brock looked closely and studied his features. The hat had a red spiral logo with a strange symbol similar to a pokeball. His face was a slight tan with three marks on each cheek with two cerulean (yes cerulean) colored eyes and some blond hair sticking out.
"Yare yare, there's a good reason why your pokemon are stuck in the damn hospital." the man said as he adjusted his hat.
"Oh come on!" the blue haired girl whined.
"Don't be mean to us." the pink haired girl said.
"We'd probably do better if you took us to get some milkshakes." the blonde girl said as she drew a circle with her finger on his chest.
"Yare yare, I'm literally old enough to be your father. So don't try using that." the man said while shaking the girls off.
Before anyone said anything, Brock ran up to the man, "You're the yellow storm!" he yelled as he started shaking his hand rapidly.
"Eh? Who are you?" the man asked.
"I'm Brock, I was a gym leader in Pewter city! I'm also a big fan of you!" Brock said excitedly.
"Pewter city? Hey, are you related to Flint by any chance? You look like him." the man asked.
"Yeah! He's my tou-san!" Brock answered
The man nodded, "Well that's interesting to know, but why is a gym leader like yourself coming here? Besides the fact that these girls are giving away their badges after quitting a couple matches." he said.
"Oh well, my friends Red and Ash are trainers that are hoping to compete in the league." Brock said as he referred to the twins.
"Oh great, more trainers. Just give them their badges Lily." the blonde said as Lily called over a seal type pokemon.
Lily grabbed the badge and was about to hand it over to the boys, Misty stopped her, "Hey don't you dare give them those badges!" she yelled out.
"Huh? Violet, Daisy, is that Misty?" Lily asked.
"Hey Misty, I thought you said you were going to come back when you became a strong trainer!" Daisy said as she taunted Misty.
"You know them Misty?" Red asked.
"They're my sisters." Misty said in an annoyed voice.
"Well WE inherited the looks, so Misty had to inherit something." Daisy said arrogantly as the girls swayed their hair back.
As Misty was ready to argue, the man spoke up again, "Oh? Looks must be code for "incompetent" from what I'm hearing." he said as the sisters face faulted.
"Why are you so mean?" Violet asked as she and the girls cried anime tears.
The man sighed, "Yare yare, I'm done here anyways. I should get ready to head to Vermillion city." he said.
"And there's no way, I'm letting you two idiots take my gym's badge for free." Misty proclaimed.
The man was about to leave when he heard that proclamation, 'This could be interesting.' he thought.
"So I challenge the two of you to a pokemon battle!" Misty said as Red and Ash looked surprised but quickly switched to a determined demeanor.
"We got this nii-san!" Red said as Ash nodded.
After setting up the gym, Misty stood on the opposite side of the ring. Across from her was Red and Ash and while it may seem arrogant, Misty believed in her experience and environmental advantage to face the twins.
"I was hoping to battle just you Ash for when you pay me back for my bike." Misty said before throwing out two pokeballs. "Go! Staryu and Starmie!" she called out as the star shaped pokemon both appeared.
"Let's go Pikachu." Ash said as Pikachu shook his head. "What do you mean no?" he asked.
"Pika pika pikapi." Pikachu answered as he poked his fingers.
"You won't battle because Misty's your friend?" Ash asked with a shocked expression.
"Pika pikachu." Pikachu answered with a nod.
Meanwhile Red was also having a hard time as well, "Char!" Charmander yelled.
"I know you like Misty, but don't think about it as a practice run!" Red said trying to reason with his first pokemon.
Charmander growled as he pointed to his tail, "Char Charmander!" he yelled.
"Your tail? Oh yeah, I forgot about that hehe." Red said as he scratched his head sheepishly.
(Pokemon OST - Burning Battlefield)
"Fine, maybe Nidoran will do better." Red said as he made Charmander return.
Ash did the same by summoning Butterfree, "Let's go Butterfree!" he called out.
Back with Brock, he sat next to the man in the white outfit, "I'm guessing those two aren't the brightest are they?" he asked.
"Eh, they have strong hearts. They're new and just started training their pokemon and need to get used to their pokemon and strategies." Brock answered while giving a sheepish smile.
"Well that Butterfree better be agile and that Nidoran better be as well. Otherwise both are are going to sink fast since they can't swim." the man said.
Brock nodded, "Like I said they're new, but then again. I feel like they would have done better if they took the time to look for water types since we passed by a few rivers." he replied.
"While that Butterfree doesn't necessarily have an advantage or weakness in the field. The same can be said about Nidoran, but it depends on how much those two have grown up until now." the man said as the fight started.
Butterfree was able to avoid the Staryu's water blaster attack. The bug type was also able to avoid several physical attacks before hitting the starfish like pokemon with some sleeping powder. Ash took the opening and landed another attack.
Meanwhile Nidoran was able to avoid Starmie's water blaster and landed a direct hit with a horn attack. Things were looking impressive as Nidoran tackled Starmie and was able to make it fly across the water.
The man was slowly cracking a smirk until the next thing he saw disappointed him. Red went for another tackle only for Nidoran to fall mid air and land in the water. Meanwhile Ash's Butterfree failed to dodge the next attack and ended up falling into the water as well. Both pokemon struggled to swim seeing as neither were fit moving around in ocean based environments.
"Yare yare." the man muttered as tipped his hat to cover his eyes.
"I win!" Misty cheered as both boys complained.
"Hey two out of three!" Ash yelled.
Red didn't feel any better either, "Hey I slipped! Nidoran can't jump that far!" he yelled.
"Excuses excuses! If you two want to try again and embarrass yourselves. Then you're free to..." Misty was about to continue to gloat until a large machine bursted through the wall of the gym.
"What the...!" suddenly Team Rocket appeared.
"Prepare for trouble!" Jessie started off.
"And make it double!" James followed up while holding a rose.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Meowth!" Meowth said as he finally spoke up.
"Team Rocket!" everyone minus the man and the Sensational sisters called out.
The man narrowed his eyes as he turned to Brock, "Who are these clowns?" he asked.
"They're criminals who try to steal pokemon and lately, they've been trying to steal Ash's Pikachu." Brock answered.
The man didn't need to hear anymore as he jumped down and ran towards the arena. Meanwhile Team Rocket pulled out some kind of tube and tried to drain the pool of all of its water.
"Nii-san, I'll save the pokemon!" Red yelled as he recklessly jumped in after Butterfree and Nidoran.
"Pikachu, when Red is out of the water. Hit it with Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered as Pikachu charged his electricity and waited for Red to rescue the pokemon.
Meanwhile the man had already jumped over the rail, "Hey what is he doing!?" Lily asked.
"Hey wait!" Misty called out as she tried to stop the man.
Suddenly the man started to run on the water as if it was solid ground. Team Rocket was too busy gloating and Red was too concerned with saving the pokemon. This left everyone else stunned as the man ran across the water as if it were second nature to him.
"What the heck!? is that guy running on water!?" Meowth asked with a scared expression.
"He's not being sucked into the vacuum either!" James pointed out as the water level had started to drop rapidly.
Jessie growled in annoyance as she pulled out a rocket launcher, "Well don't just stand there! We need to take him out fast!" she exclaimed as she aimed for him.
The man narrowed his eyes as he looked at the rocket launcher, "Star Platinum! The World!" he called out before suddenly disappearing before their very eyes.
"What!? Where is he!?" Jessie demanded as she looked around.
Suddenly Meowth panicked, "Guys! He's right behind us!" he called out as Jessie and James both screamed in surprise.
The man tipped his hat and only revealed on lone eye, "Stealing pokemon is an unforgivable and stupid crime, but don't you dare think that I'm letting you off so easily." he said before pointing his finger at them.
"What are you...?" James tried to say only to be bombarded by some sort of powerful force.
Along with Jessie and Meowth, the whole team felt as if they were being attacked despite the fact that they could clearly see that the stranger was holding still. As if a million punches were being unleashed upon them. The impact of all the hits kept them in the same spot until the final one made them crash into the water.
Before Team Rocket had time to recover, they were suddenly electrocuted by Pikachu's thunderbolt. With all his might, Pikachu made the dastardly villains fly into the air and crash through the ceiling before disappearing in a sparkle in the sky.
"Team Rocket is blasting off again!" they yelled before disappearing.
The man sighed as he turned the machine off, "Yare yare daze, do you kids deal with those guys often?" he asked.
"Yeah we do, they can get pretty annoying. Also what was that cool trick you were doing?" Red asked as he tried to soak himself off.
"Well I should be asking why you didn't bother returning the pokemon to your pokeballs. You would have saved a lot of time." the man replied as Red scratched his head sheepishly. "As for my water walking, it's a complex technique." he said answering the initial question.
"Anyways since your a legendary trainer like Brock says. What did you think about our match?" Ash thought excitedly.
The man hid his smirk as he lowered the tip of his hat, "Well while the battle seemed one sided regardless of initial strategy and environment. The battle relied on one side using a feel advantage for a side that was neutral. Meaning that it was a fight that relied on the trainer's tactics and quick thinking and teamwork. While teamwork was shabby and a bit reckless due to arrogance which is common in a novice. There was plenty of room for improvement and nothing wrong with asking for a rematch in the future." he explained with great detail based on his observations.
"Wow, you sound like Professor Oak but without the poetry or jargon." Red said as he thinks that he got praised.
"Professor Oak? Samson or Samuel?" the man asked with a raised brow.
"Uh..." Ash soon realized that he forgot the professor's first name.
"Anyways, I'm not much for speeches or praising, but while I am a trainer and not some sort of official. I do have an award for the best trainer in this match." the man said as he pulled out a small wooden box.
Red and Ash smiled in excitement as the man pulled out a pin that was similar to a gym badge.
"With great honor and all that crap. I, Naruto Uzukaze, give this recognition pin to..." the man named Naruto said as he looked around. Red and Ash were ready to pull out their hands and take the badge when disappointment came knocking, "...to the Cerulean city gym leader!" he said while looking towards Misty who looked shocked then happy.
"WHAT!?" everyone asked in confusion for various reasons.
"Thank you!" Misty said as she grabbed the pin and tried to hug Naruto.
Only for Naruto to push her away, "I don't do affection either." he said as Misty nodded but continued to stare at her pin with stars in her eyes.
"Why does Misty get a pin?" Ash asked with a sad look.
Naruto sighed, "Well kid, you and your brother here have energy and optimism. That's good and depending on experience and the situations you're in. It can effect how your mindset determines the battle. So here you two got a bit arrogant and didn't practice enough. I also doubt you two know how to prepare for different types of pokemon." he explained as both boys had a rain cloud over their heads.
"A little hard on them don't you think?" Misty asked.
"Sometimes you need to learn to toughen up. Besides, this one tried to drown his Charmander when a fire type is the worst pokemon in an environment dominated by water." Naruto said as Red started smacking his forehead. "Although, I can't say your both completely hopeless. You at least maintained some neutral pokemon as they aren't stronger or weaker than water types while also relying on that orange haired girl to get a bit cocky and reckless." he added as Misty looked sheepish as she did think it was going to be a quick easy win in the beginning.
"So how about this? Why don't you train us?" Ash asked.
"Pardon me?" Naruto asked.
"Nii-san is right! If you can point out our problems, you can help us get stronger and fix our mistakes." Red suggested.
"Please!" Ash pleaded.
Naruto sighed, "I guess, but you two better not start crying. You two are practically adults now that your on your own journey. Besides, I'm heading to Vermillion city anyways and I know that's where the trainers from Pallet town should be heading for the next badge." he answered as the twins jumped up with joy. "Anyways, I never got your names." he said.
"I'm Misty." Misty said.
"I'm Ash Ketchum and this is my twin brother, Red." Ash said as Naruto looked surprised.
"Ketchum? Are you two related to Delia by any chance?" Naruto asked.
"She's our kaa-chan!" Red said.
Naruto chuckled, "I suppose it has been that long then. I wouldn't mind seeing her after I've finished my own business. Anyways, when are we heading out?" he asked as he had officially joined Ash's group.
A couple days later
Ignoring Naruto's disapproval, the Sensational Sisters aka, Misty's sisters, decided to give their gym badge to Red and Ash. Mainly due to their heroic deeds in saving the pokemon and sending Team Rocket into the stratosphere. While Naruto respected Red for jumping in to save the pokemon and Ash for helping to suppress Team Rocket, he didn't think they earned the badges.
It's not as if the blond had an issue or resentment to the twins. In fact Naruto encouraged the two to become strong in order to become pokemon masters. However the issue remains that they didn't earn the badges by honorable means. Even Ash was starting to get cocky when it came to having two gym badges. Despite the fact that they were both given to him out of charity.
Red wasn't as cocky, but he was a little too optimistic. However that changed as Naruto started writing out their training plan which sounded pretty intense and harsh as Naruto presented a demonstration by presenting two new pokemon and training with them. It mostly revolved around Naruto doing some intense exercises while the two pokemon were fighting him as well.
From the looks of it, the two strange pokemon were pretty quick and very strong in physical terms. The two pokemon were a grass type named Grovyle and a fire type called Growlithe who were able to show off their skill by nearly hitting Naruto several times. While it sounds pathetic, Naruto had revealed amazing speed and agility by narrowly avoiding all the attacks.
When it was over, Naruto had avoiding around a hundred attacks that varied from elemental to physical with neither of his pokemon looking too winded. Which left Ash and Red sweating over what Naruto was going to teach them.
Just before Naruto started to train them, they came across a wooden structure. Apparently it was owned by someone named Aj who was racking up a winning streak. Aj is currently at 98 wins with no losses, but despite the fact that there was a sign that the wins and losses don't matter according to the official pokemon league.
Naruto was ready to ignore it and leave only for Ash and Red wanting to fight Aj. Who suddenly appeared and accepted the challenge quickly. At the arena, Aj started off with a Sandshrew.
"After I make my 100th win, I'm gonna start earning some badges!" Aj said excitedly.
"Really? I have 10 wins and 2 badges." Ash boasted.
"Oh did you steal them or did you earn them at some loser gyms?" Aj countered which made Brock and Misty internally seeth as Aj mocked their gyms.
Red however started to scratch his head, 'Well I don't think Nii-san has even been in ten battles. I haven't done much better either.' he said as he was thinking about Naruto's words and training methods.
"Loser gyms!?" Misty asked.
"Pulverize this guy!" Brock ordered.
"Nii-san! Pikachu can't help you here! Electric types don't work on ground types!" Red warned.
"I know what I'm doing! I don't need help! Let's go Pidgeotto!" Ash called out as his flying type pokemon took to the skies.
Naruto nodded, "Ok he's at least aware of what can combat as ground type." he said as Pidgeotto dived at Sandshrew who dived.
However the fight ended pretty quickly as Sandshrew rolled up into a ball and jumped high into the air. Pidgeotto, who was distracted by the sight, ended up taking the hit and crashed into the ground.
"Naruto-san, I thought you said flying types had the advantage." Red said.
Naruto shrugged, "They do, but like the elements, it all depends on how you use them in battle. Of course, if Pidgeotto was faster and more agile, they could have avoided the attack and continued." he explained as Ash returned his pokemon and summoned Butterfree.
"Butterfree, use sleep powder!" Ash ordered as the bug type spread it's powder over the air.
Aj quickly went defensive, "Dig down Sandshrew!" he ordered as Sandshrew burrowed itself underground.
"Where did it go?" Ash asked as he and Butterfree looked around only for Sandshrew to pop out and smash into Butterfree. "Butterfree, no!" he yelled.
"That Butter doesn't look free." Aj joked as Ash returned his pokemon.
Ash then proceeded to grab Pikachu by the tail as he refused to enter combat, "Come on Pikachu, it's your turn!" he said before being electrocuted.
"Haha! I win! That makes 99 wins!" Aj said as he congratulated himself.
"WHAT!? Hey this match is rigged isn't it!? Naruto, I bet he was cheating! You should check the arena since I haven't lost up until now." Ash said as Naruto sighed at his whining.
"What are you on about?" Aj asked as he wasn't liking Ash's accusations.
Naruto sighed as he adjusted his hat, "Yare yare, Star Platinum The World!" he said as he disappeared and reappeared behind Ash who was still arguing with Aj.
"...hey if... holy cow! How did he appear behind you!?" Aj asked as he wasn't sure what how Naruto moved so quickly.
"What? AH! Naruto what the heck!?" Ash asked as he jumped away in fear.
Naruto adjusted his hat to reveal his eyes, "Everything is fine and there's no real world rule against ground types making tunnels." he said.
"You barely moved! How did you get here!?" Aj asked as he was rather shaken by Naruto's ability to move so quickly.
Misty suddenly remembered that Naruto did the same when Team Rocket attacked at her gym, "Hey Brock, you did notice it back in my hometown too right?" she asked.
"I was hoping to ask, but I wasn't sure when was a good time." Brock whispered as Red was looking around the spot where Naruto was.
Aj just sighed, "Whatever, I'm going back to training." he said as he went inside of his tent.
"I wonder what kind of training he does." Red said as he moved the tarp to peek inside.
Inside, everyone was rather surprised to see Aj smacking his whip around Sandshrew who jumped out of a pool of water. Meanwhile there were a few other various pokemon such as Beedrill and Butterfree that were sparring with three ratackats practicing as well. Ash wasn't a fan of all the whipping and neither was Naruto which lead to Ash tackling Aj into a pool of water.
"What are you doing?" Aj demanded as he crawled out of the pool.
"Your hurting the pokemon!" Ash accused.
"Well you don't win badges by playing friendship with pokemon." Aj shot back.
"Hey Naruto, isn't this a bit much?" Red asked as he referred to the weird restraints on the pokemon.
Naruto narrowed his eyes, "Hey Aj, you want to explain yourself?" he asked as he pointed to the strange device around them.
"I don't need to. They help strengthen my pokemon. They need every little bit of strength they can get to win." Aj answered.
Naruto studied the devices closely, "I'm all about training to the fullest, but even now there's a limit. While I can admit that they help, these restraints might be more of a danger." he said.
"Aw your just jealous." Aj said.
"No, these things appear to still have issues and without these straps. It would be safe to say that depending on the pokemon's specific biology, they could either break some bones or develop breathing issues." Naruto explained as everyone looked a bit shocked.
Aj did hide his worried face, "Well... they are in the prototype stages. So I wouldn't say it's perfect." he admitted.
"Well there's a limit to training your pokemon to the fullest and knowing when to stop. I learned that the hard way a few years back." Naruto said as he lowered the tip of his hat.
Aj did cross his arms as he thought it over, "Well..."
"Hey where's Sandshrew?" Red asked as he noticed Pikachu was rolled up.
"What's wrong with Pikachu?" Ash asked as Aj removed the restraint.
"There, but that still doesn't answer where Sandshrew is." Aj said before the pokemon appeared from a hole in the ground along with a Meowth.
Red tilted his head as he looked at the hole, "I thought he ran away for a second there." he said.
"Anyways kid, I'm not trying to be hard on you. I get you want your pokemon to be the best and deep down, you both care for each other." Naruto said as Sandshrew jumped into Aj's lap and nuzzled his face on his chest.
"Hey wait a minute! This is Meowth from Team Rocket!" Red announced as Meowth woke up and almost slashed at his face.
Meowth quickly got up and caught his barings, "Hey where am I?" he asked before a familiar pair of villains arrived. "Hey guys, use the old intro." he told them.
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite the people within our nation."
Naruto sighed for the millionth time today, "Not these guys again." he said as he listened to the rest of their annoying intro.
"Those guys stole my Sandshrew?" Aj asked angrily.
"Well that was an accident actually. We were hoping to catch Pikachu and not some second rate Sandshrew from some second rate gym." Jessie said ever so rudely.
"Second rate!? How dare you insult my gym!?" Aj asked furiously.
"We can take them!" Ash said only for Aj to block him.
"No, this is my fight." Aj said as he lead them to the arena.
At the arena, Aj had Sandshrew stand tall while Jessie and James summoned their Koffing and Ekans.
"Let's go Sandshrew, show them what our gym is made of!" Aj said as Sandshrew nodded.
"Go Ekans, put this little kid and his trashy gym in it's place." Jessie ordered as the snake like pokemon wrapped around Sandshrew who currled up.
"Shrew!" Sandshrew said as he slipped out and escaped Ekans hold which left the snake trapped in a knot.
"Get him Koffing!" James ordered.
"Koffing!" Koffing cried out only be hit by Sandshrew who crashed into him while in ball form.
"I got this!" Meowth said as he chased Sandshrew around like a toy ball.
In the end, Team Rocket was beaten pretty quickly by Aj's quick thinking and Sandshrew's adaptability. Which forced them to run away before Naruto beat the crap out of them again and sent them flying into the air.
"Team Rocket is blasting off again!" they cried as they disappeared into a glint in the sky.
"Alright, that makes 100 wins! We can finally start earning badges Sandshrew!" Aj said.
"Congratulations you two, hopefully now you can prepare yourselves for the real world. You might need this to give you some confidence." Naruto said as he pulled out a pin and tossed it towards Aj.
"Thanks mister, now I think I should take it easy. No matter how hard I push it, I know I won't win all the battles but that doesn't mean I have to drive Sandshrew and everyone else into the point of exhaustion." Aj replied as he put the pin away.
A couple more days later
After saying their goodbye to Aj, who started his journey, the group walked off towards Vermillion city. Sadly, while Naruto had his philosophy about training pokemon to their fullest while understanding their limits. He knew the importance of trainers not getting lazy and arrogant, so Ash and Red were put in a world of hurt as well as their respective pokemon.
It wasn't long lasting, but Naruto refused to hear either one complain about basic exercises. Especially since he planned to reveal a certain ability he had besides his strange teleportation ability. Which he thought would be cool to show off along with teaching them to understand the elements of their pokemon.
Now, the group decided to settle down for the time after a long travel. That and the Ketchum twins complained about their legs, arms and every other part of their body that was required to make them physically move were suddenly in pain. With Brock setting up a table and getting the drinks ready.
"Now for the coffee, sorry guys but you're all too young. Well except Naruto who..." Brock trailed off as he wasn't sure if Naruto was sensitive about his age.
"No thanks, I use a special brew and need to pick up the ingredients." Naruto spoke up.
"Well I guess I better set up the french snacks." Brock said as Misty had stars in her eyes and began to imagine a romantic journey.
Which Ash interrupted by eating his snacks too loudly, "Ash you interrupted my dream!" she said before hitting him on the head.
"Ok calm down Misty, we don't need you getting angry over little things. My younger brother used to get punched in the head too many times by this one girl he thought he liked, but realized she was toxic." Naruto said before getting up in her face. "Don't you dare get toxic. Or at least don't like any boys that are emo and want to take over the world or whatever." he said dangerously as Misty started to sweat and nodded at his order.
"Shoot, we're low on supplies. I need one of you to grab some supplies for me." Brock said as Misty stared at Ash who looked nervous.
"Otouto?" Ash asked with a sheepish smile.
"I'll go." Red said with a sigh as Naruto followed him.
"I need my own supplies, besides the less people around might make it easier to catch some pokemon." Naruto said as they left the makeshift campsite.
A few minutes into the woods, Red started asking about Naruto's weird teleportation ability. Naruto explained that he was from a far away region with strange abilities. However his ability was rare as it was caused by a rare artifact in the shape of an arrow. Naruto proceeded to explain that Red wouldn't believe him if he told him his true power since it wasn't actually teleportation.
However before Red could dig deeper into Naruto's past. They spotted a bunch of kids in some weird fog holding candles and holding photos while one of them was running on a treadmill.
"This is one weird ass cult." Naruto said.
Red then thought of something to lighten the mood, "Hey maybe they're not summoning a ghost. Maybe they're "exercising" one." he said.
Naruto gave him a blank look, "Exorcism and exercising? Really?" he asked as Red hanged his head down.
Naruto then formed some hand seals, "Are you communicating with someone?" Red asked as he thought Naruto was using hand signs used to communicate with the mute and deaf.
"Keep your head down, Wind Style: Air Bullet!" Naruto called out as a large ball of wind knocked the kids over and pushed the fog away.
"Hey what the heck?" one of the kids asked as Naruto approached the kids.
"What the hell are you brats doing?" Naruto asked.
"We're teaching Joe here since he's too dumb to pay attention in class and keep up with the rest of us." one of the kids answered.
"I'm trying my best guys." Joe whined.
"Well it looked like you were forcing exercise and studying. A bad combination and before you say anything, that's not a proper way to stimulate the brain. You do one then the other." Naruto said.
"And who are you supposed to be old man?" another kid asked.
"A tall jerk who's got decades of physical and pokemon training under my belt. Who are you punks pretending to be?" Naruto asked as he leaked a very low amount of ki that made them start to shiver.
"We're pokemon tech students and we're the top of our class. Better yet, the elite of the elite who are gonna dominate the league." one of the more cocky students said.
"Oh? I see Pokemon Tech. I know you guys." Naruto said as he sounded more calm. They all smirked and were about to further boast about their ego until Naruto caught them off, "The school of wimps that live good lives until they cry their eyes out because a piece of paper said their test scores automatically presumed they actually had skill. If you're gonna boast about something, it better be a skill your good at." he explained as Red kept himself from laughing.
"Like you're any better I bet..." Naruto interrupted him by pulling out a scroll.
"What? Gonna read us a poem or something old..." the scroll revealed a small case full of various badges with a few awards from a couple leagues.
"Eh!?" they all asked.
"Not so hot now are you? How many badges do you have each?" Naruto asked.
"We're the top of the beginners we're as good as trainers with three badges." one of them said with a smug grin.
Naruto shook his head, "Too bad, from what I looked up. This year's league requires 8 badges or too take the special exam..." they smirked further, "By battling a volunteer in the form of a veteran trainer." he said as some of them actually felt a bit nervous now.
"But that's for this year and..."
"And the rules rarely change drastically and besides. You do know adults aren't prohibited from the league right?" Naruto asked as they started feeling less confident about going to the league sometime into the future.
"Whatever, let's leave Joe with these guys. They're just neanderthals who try tot hard to earn so little." one said as they left.
Naruto put his awards back into his scroll, "Hey kid, why do you let them pick on you?" he asked Joe.
Joe sighed as he stood up, "They don't mean to be bad. It's just that I'm falling behind in my class. So they need to be tough on me in order for me to understand better." he said.
"And what kind of tutoring is this? I see a bunch of pictures of pokemon." Red said as he picked up the pictures that were dropped by the kids.
"I have to identify the pokemon, what they evolve into and what attacks they use in their evolved forms. For example a Pidgey evolves in Pidgeotto at level 12 and uses..." Joe was stopped by Red who clapped his hands.
"Why are you saying levels? Pokemon are trained to evolve, they don't level up like a video game." Red said as he looked at Joe like he's an idiot.
"Kid I think you're trapped in an era that doesn't exist and this is coming from a guy who lives like a hermit." Naruto said as he referred to himself.
"But that's what they taught us in class. Then again, the guest teacher has been showing us a new method. She's also really pretty and really talented, so we don't question her." Joe said with a blush at the end.
Naruto lowered the tip of his hat, "Well clearly, not all your staff are doing their best to teach you." he said.
"Hey what are you guys talking about?" the three turned to see Ash and Misty standing behind them.
"Oh, some kids were picking on this kid here, Joe, for playing too many video games instead of studying in school here." Naruto said as Joe looked embarrassed.
Misty and Ash looked at the school in awe, "So what's this place?" Ash asked.
"It's Pokemon Tech, I had a newspaper clipping on it somewhere." everyone minus Naruto jumped in surprise as Brock revealed himself and pulled out his article on the school.
Naruto shook his head, "It's nothing special, apparently Joe here learned that you need to be level 12 to be a Pidgeotto or something." he said.
"No you have to have your Pidgey become a level 12 before it evolves into Pidgeotto." Joe replied.
Misty, Brock and Ash sweat dropped at the reply, "You play too many video games." they said simultaneously.
Inside the school
After being given the breakdown of the school, Joe explained the system in the school. Which only proved Naruto's point and made him think this was just capitalism at its worst with the promise of little hard work that lead to disappointment. Apparently Joe was only pretending not to know the subjects to avoid being given harder questions. Which Naruto replied by hitting him on the head saying that he needs to learn intermediate lessons in school to improve.
However it didn't make him any happier as Joe was sounding arrogant as he explained the class levels. Despite being at the bottom, Joe said his class was on the same level as a trainer with two badges. He even claimed that Giselle, the most popular girl who encouraged the bullying tactics to help him study, was supposedly stronger than some with three badges.
Even though Aj was rather harsh with the padded outfits, even Aj knew that a badge means nothing if you didn't apply yourself hard enough. It almost made Naruto feel bad about the lecture he gave him. Then again, at least Aj isn't bragging about being better than everyone and is ready to face adversity. Maybe now is a good time for Ash and Red to understand some humility despite earning those badges.
"And this is the simulator room where we practice." Joe said as he revealed what looked like poorly designed arcade machines. "So even if I'm behind in my class, I'm way stronger than someone with two badges." that was enough for Misty to hear in order to get upset.
"Oh yeah, I happen to be the Cerulean city gym leader. Are you saying you're better than me?" Misty asked with frustration.
"Cerulean city? Oh yeah they use water type pokemon. I always beat them." Joe said as he revealed a simulation of him beating a water type pokemon in one hit.
"Battle me and let's see how good you really are!" Misty demanded.
Joe smiled, "You'll be sorry." he said as if victory was already handed to him.
After finding a good spot, Joe and Misty took their positions, "Hey why do they get to battle?" Ash whined.
"Because your wounds haven't healed yet Ash. Besides I can't heal anything that isn't broken or long lasting." Naruto said as Ash sighed.
"Wait you know medicine?" Brock asked with wide eyes which actually frightened Naruto as it felt unnatural to see Brock's squinty eyes change.
"Yeah, my godmother was a doctor and taught me a lot." Naruto replied as both sides started to battle.
"Come out Starmie!" Misty said as her water type arrived.
"You won't be able to beat my Weepinbell!" Joe said as he summoned his plant type.
Misty had a look of determination in her eyes, "I'll show him! Go Starmie!" she said as Starmie shot it's water gun at Weepinbell who started flying away.
"Wha-what?" Joe asked with a shocked face.
Naruto groaned, "Yare yare, plant types are strong against water types. Not invincible and besides, you didn't bother practicing enough with your pokemon. You focused on dumb video games." he said as Joe suddenly felt stupid.
To make matters worse, that Giselle girl appeared, "He's right Joe, if you don't shape up and train your pokemon. You'll be left behind by your fellow students." she said.
"What?" Joe asked worriedly.
"Hey it's not nice to leave a friend behind." Misty said. "So what if you're beautiful? You rude behavior is really ugly." she said.
"Jealousy is just as ugly." Giselle replied with a smirk.
"This coming from a 10 year old who figured out the difference between lipstick and a paintbrush." Naruto spoke up.
Giselle gave a light glare to Naruto, "And who might you be?" she asked.
"I'm the guy who doesn't train pokemon like they're from a video game." Naruto said.
"And what pokemon would you have old man? I bet someone in your age can't tell what level your pokemon." Giselle teased.
Naruto raised his hat, "You're right, I can't do that because this isn't a video game. I bet the moment you step into a gym you'd get creamed by spouting on about your type being superior. You can claim whatever you want, but at the end of the day. Your status as a student won't matter in the league." he explained.
"Then let's put it to the test then." Giselle said as she grabbed a pokeball.
"Might as well, let's see if this waste of an economy taught you kids anything." Naruto said as he grabbed one of his own pokemon.
"Show him who's boss Graveler." Giselle said as Graveler appeared as Naruto tossed his own pokeball.
"Grovyle, put the brat in her place so I can make some coffee and lunch for us." he said as Grovyle appeared and nodded.
"Go get him!" Giselle ordered as Graveler started rolling towards Grovyle.
"But grass type is stronger than rock type." Brock said as he failed to see the logic behind this move.
Naruto hid his smirk, "Yeah and it's clumsy like this brat." he said as Grovyle jumped out of the way. "Now give it a good Leaf Storm before it gets a good baring on it's situation." he ordered.
"Gro!" Grovyle said as he hit the Graveler as quickly as possible before Graveler could move out of the way.
Giselle tried to keep calm, "That's ok, Graveler just get up and try to hit the grass pokemon before it can move!" she ordered.
"Try? What are you? Grovyle isn't going to stand around." Naruto said as Grovyle avoided several swipes before landing a kick on it's face. "Now Quick Attack before it recovers!" he ordered as Grovyle nodded.
"Graveler dodge!" Giselle said only for Graveler to take the hit and fall on it's back. "What is going on?" she asked in confusion.
"Grovyle, show them that one trick." Naruto said with another smirk.
Grovyle nodded as it jumped high into the air and started spinning like a drill, "Grovyle!" it yelled as it slammed into Graveler's chest.
Graveler finally got up, albeit feeling wounded, "Grav!" it said.
"You can still do it Graveler! Just use Rock Throw!" Giselle commanded as it threw a large stone at Grovyle who stood on a single foot and spinned away.
"Yare yare, just end the fight already. Try Leaf Blade." Naruto said as Graveler took on a barrage of leaves before collapsing on it's back again.
(Eye's Of Heaven OST - Victory)
"Oh no Graveler." Giselle said as she noticed that Graveler was knocked out with that last attack.
"And that's how it's done." Naruto said as he tilted his hat while Grovyle did a weird pose with his hands. (A/N: Josuke's pose)
"So mean, return Graveler. You did your best." Giselle said as is she was the victim of abuse.
"Go Naruto!" Misty cheered.
"Why Naruto? Why must you be so cruel to Giselle?" Brock asked with tears coming down his eyes.
Ash wiped his own tears away, "Yeah, weren't you a little too hard? Red why aren't you saying anything?" he asked.
Red looked shocked, "Because I don't want him to double my training. Nidoran, Charmander and Dratini are already exhausted. Besides I don't want kaa-chan to end up being a vilomah." he said.
"Vilomah? What the heck is that?" Ash asked.
"Ash that's a parent whose child passed away." Misty said as Ash started panicking and begging Naruto to not kill him during training.
(End of Song)
Suddenly a new figure entered the room, "I see everyone is rather excited." they said.
Looking up Ash, Brock and even Red blushed at the sight of a beautiful young adult woman. No more than the male students which included Joe who stared at the woman. She was taller than the students but shorter than Naruto, tanned, light blue eyes and black hair with bangs over her forehead.
"Especially with one of my best students fighting one of the best trainers in all the regions." she said.
"Who's that Brock?" Red asked as Ash listened in only for Misty to speak up.
"You're Nico Robin!" Misty pointed out.
Robin closed her eyes and smiled, "Yes I am, I see I am well known after disappearing all these years." she said.
"Ms. Robin, that guy in the hat hurt Giselle's!" one of the students said.
"I saw it, but then again Giselle didn't put too much effort into her battle strategies as she assumed that with her opponents age. That he wouldn't be as strong or capable as young people. When in fact, it's very common for adults to compete and train pokemon. Especially with someone who's had years of battling under their belt like Naruto here." Robin explained as the students blushed in embarrassment. "Then again, they don't call him the Yellow Storm for nothing." she added which only shocked the students.
"EH!?" the students asked.
"But I thought he..." Joe trailed off.
"I was... I was talking down to a professional trainer?" Giselle asked as she felt embarrassed.
"Naruto Uzukaze, don't wear it out." Naruto said before Robin walked up to him.
Robin smiled as she hugged him tightly, "It's been too long." she said.
"You missed me already?" Naruto asked.
"I won't admit anything unless you say it first." Robin replied.
"So you did." Naruto said only to confirm her suspicions.
"In a way, but now I know you feel the same way." she replied.
'How can Ms. Robin like a man like that? He is a brute! He looks like well dressed bear for crying out loud!' Giselle thought.
Brock felt his heart stop, 'Naruto is the greatest! He has to teach me how to be so close to beautiful and strong women like Nico Robin!' he thought excitedly.
"Anyways, what are you doing in this let down of a curriculum?" Naruto asked.
Robin smiled, "Well lately, things haven't been going well outside of the school. I was passing by a couple months ago and was approached with the offer to teach as a guest teacher." she answered.
"Well if you're here, then no doubt you're trying to teach these brats about humility." Naruto said as she nodded.
Robin sighed, "Well lately, I've been hoping to teach the children how to better prepare for the future. Especially since the school board has been encouraging the simulations which have lately been inaccurate and outdated due to the poor knowledge of the pokemon in the other regions." she explained.
"I see." Naruto said as some of the students looked confused.
"Ms. Robin, what do you mean things are looking bad?" Joe asked.
Robin sighed she didn't want to hurt her students, "Joe, this isn't easy to say but lately. Outside of the Kanto region, Pokemon Tech isn't necessarily respected. It's not due to it being expensive or anything like that. The graduation rate isn't high and the Kanto league isn't accepting anymore graduates to compete without earning any badges. Worse, they're building more schools in other regions and their curriculum has a higher graduation rate." she explained.
"But what about everyone who does graduate?" one of the kids asked.
"About half of them couldn't make it past their first rounds. I believe it might be due to the elitism that you children are fed. That you believe you are invincible until the veteran trainers cross your paths. I accepted in order to help you all properly grow as future trainers. Especially seeing as some of you are applying bullying tactics, which I'm still disappointed to see." Robin explained as the students hanged their heads down.
Before the kids could further sulk, Naruto said something that didn't involve training or demeaning anyone, "Well if Robin has faith in you lot. Then that means she thinks you all have a future. If you're all willing to put in the effort to actually train instead of relying on what you read in a book or did in a simulator. You might actually make a name for yourself." he said.
"You think so?" Joe asked who felt hopeful.
Before Naruto could answer, they were interrupted by a familiar unwanted trio that crashed through the window.
"Prepare for trouble and make it double." a female voice said.
"I'm starting to get a headache with these people." Naruto said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
And after one long intro...
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Meowth!"
Naruto sighed again, "Yare yare, Team Rocket again." he said.
"Hey you sound like you're not excited to see us." James said while feigning sadness.
"Not that it matters, we're going to collect Pikachu and get our revenge on Pokemon Tech." Jessie said.
"Oh yeah, I heard Team Rocket were students here at one point." Robin said.
The students laughed, "Yeah, they were the dead last of their class." Giselle said.
"Well we've come back and gotten some real experience. So prepare for a battle!" James said as he and Jessie got their pokeballs ready.
"If you kids have learned anything today. Now is a good time to put it to use." Naruto said as he gave Giselle and the other kids a chance to redeem themselves.
Giselle nodded as she and the rest got their pokeballs ready, "Let's go guys!" she said.
"Hey wait! Not all at once! We need to make it fair!" Jessie said as she prepared to block the pokeballs.
"Yeah, one at a time!" James said before Team Rocket was attacked with a barrage of pokeballs that forced them to retreat yet again.
"Team Rocket is blasting off again!" they yelled.
Naruto frowned once again, "I didn't mean physically attack them with the pokeballs like they're projectiles." he said.
"Well they did learn teamwork. Which at least matters for now. Especially now, that I'm ending my term for the semester." Robin said.
"We're going to miss you Ms. Robin." Giselle said as she ran up and hugged her.
"I'll miss all of you as well, but remember what I taught you." Robin said as Naruto's group got back together.
"Well that's the end of our pitstop." Naruto said.
That's when Red remembered something, "Hey we never got Brock's supplies or your coffee stuff!" he said as Naruto frowned.
(Stardust Crusaders OST - Fun Fellow)
Naruto moved to a wall and removed his hat that revealed his blond spiky hair, "Don't mind me." he said as he turned to the wall and proceeded to smash his face into the wall. "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! No I'm angry!" he said as the wall started to crack.
"Shouldn't we stop him?" Misty asked with concern in his voice.
"Is it because he could hurt himself or because he could knock down the wall with his head?" Red asked.
"Otouto, I don't think either one is healthy. Maybe we should just get him his coffee." Ash said as he and Red went to stop Naruto.
Robin giggled, "I guess he didn't start his morning right did he?" she asked as Brock and Misty sweat dropped. "Well it could be worse, you should see what happens when someone tampers with a bowl of his ramen." she said as the kids remained oblivious to the chaos that would ensue if such an event ever happened.
(End of Song)
Pokemon center, a day later
After another lengthy day of travelling, along with a hellish training session under Naruto, the group arrived at a pokemon center. Naruto gave everyone a break and decided to kick back with Robin, who decided to follow them for a while. Considering that she ended her term as a guest teacher, Robin didn't really have much business elsewhere and decided to watch out for Ash and the others seeing as she didn't want Naruto to kill them with his intense training methods.
For the moment, Naruto sat back on a couch next to Robin who was reading a book. Across from them was Ash was waiting for his pokemon to return.
"Hey Naruto, I got a question." Ash asked nervously.
"Well you've made it this far and Vermillion city is less than a week away so long as we don't get lost. So I might as well answer your question." Naruto replied.
"It's about that weird trick you do. The teleporting thing you did back in Misty and Aj's gyms. You said you were going to mention it but you never did." Ash said as this peeked Robin's interest.
Robin put her book down and turned to her old companion, "You know he won't believe you if you explain it." she said.
Naruto took off his hat and scratched his head, "Yare yare, it's too much of an explanation, but if you really want to know. I'm not teleporting... I'm stopping time." he said as Ash looked skeptical.
"How are you stopping time when you're able to move around everywhere?" Ash asked.
"Star Platinum The World." Naruto said as he disappeared from his seat.
Ash looked around only to notice that his hat was gone as well as Robin's book. Then suddenly they turned their heads at the sound of footsteps to see Naruto approaching them with both items in his hands. Robin shook her head while she took her book back.
"I can move things while everything is frozen in place for five seconds. However each second doesn't begin until I physically move so I have time to briefly scan my surroundings." Naruto explained as he handed Ash's hat back.
Ash looked in awe as he put his hat back on, "It's kind of hard to believe but I don't think you can teleport fast enough to take my hat and Robin's book without me noticing." he said. "I bet it made it easier to catch pokemon." he added with a smile.
"That would be incorrect Ash, while Naruto can manipulate objects and people with his ability. His ability is almost as if he was in an entirely different world. With that in mind, he can't take anyone in that world with him. Even those with a similar power." Robin explained.
"Wait, does that mean you have a power like his Robin?" Ash asked.
Robin smiled, "Yes, but mine doesn't stop time. It lets me create string that I can use for various things including grabbing objects." she said as she summoned some string from her hand and stole Ash's hat to place on her head.
"Hey! Why is it that you guys go for the hat?" Ash asked.
Robin giggled as she tossed the hat back on his head, "Because you make it easy Ash." she said just as Red appeared.
"Hey nii-san, I managed to find a good phone to call professor Oak with." Red said.
"Cool, let's go then." Ash said as he stood up.
"One problem nii-san, it coins only and I don't have change." Red said while chuckling nervously.
Ash dug into his pockets and soon realized that he also needed some change, "Hey Naruto, your power doesn't involve making change for calls does it?" he asked.
"Yare yare." Naruto replied.
A while later
After using Naruto's spare change, the boys managed to connected to Professor Oak who was in the middle of lunch. Something about muttering about how much he appreciates his personal chef and hopes he isn't stuck with eating tofu for an unknown period of time. Ignoring that, Professor Oak was glad to see that Ash and Red were making good progress on their way to Vermillion city and with three pokemon each from the looks of it.
"So anyways, we came across this legendary trainer who we convinced to train us. Looking at back it, we kind of regret it." Ash said as he scratched his head sheepishly.
The did make feel Professor Oak feel a bit worried, "Boys, this trainer you've met isn't a troublemaker is he? I do hope you two aren't being threatened." he said.
"Don't worry about it Professor Oak, the big guy is a legend from what Brock said and we also came across another famous coordinator from back in the day." Ash replied.
"Oh really, pray tell who it is." Professor Oak said.
"We met The Yellow Storm and Nico Robin. Both of them are willing to hang out with us until we reach Vermillion city." Red said feeling more relieved that Naruto is being held back now that Robin is with them.
As for the middle aged professor, he was wide eyed, "You ran into Naruto Uzukaze of all people!? Along with Nico Robin!?" he asked.
"Is that bad?" they both asked at the same time.
Professor Oak blinked a couple times before laughy wholeheartedly, "No not really, although knowing Naruto. He is a bit advanced and rough for your current level. I doubt even with the rapid progress Gary is making, he wouldn't be able to handle Naruto. Although if Robin is with him, he'll likely go easier." he said as both sighed in relief. "Speaking of which, your mother is actually here in the lab and wanted to stop by. Delia! The boys are calling!" he yells out catching the attention of the Ketchum matriarch.
A moment later, the auburn haired mother appeared, "Ash, Red! How are you two boys?" she asked.
"A little under the weather, but you can thank our new coach for that." Red answered with a groan as Ash sighed.
"Don't tell me you got scammed into paying a lot of money for some thug." Delia said with a stern look on her face.
"It's not like that!" Ash said while waving his hands around.
"Then who did you run into?" Delia asked.
Ash turned to Pikachu, "Hey buddy, do you mind grabbing them?" he asked.
"Pika pika, pikapi." Pikachu said as he hopped off of his trainer's shoulder and ran to Naruto and Robin who arrived moments later.
"Hey is something wrong?" Naruto asked as he appeared.
Although due to his height, Delia and Professor Oak could only see his white coat and a little bit of Robin in the background.
"Sochi, who is that?" Delia asked.
"Hey Naruto, I think there's someone you might want to meet." Red said as Naruto squatted to see the screen and found a surprised Delia and Professor Oak. "Oh hey Delia, Sam you got old fast." he said as he hid his surprise well.
"Nii-san!" Delia called out as she hugged the phone in Professor Oak's laugh.
"Delia, you can't hug Naruto. However you will knock over my phone and Naruto, just because you can't age doesn't mean the rest of us can't either!" Professor Oak said as he sounded a bit annoyed towards the end.
Naruto smirked, "Not my problem Sam, anyways how are you two? Seeing as Delia has two rugrats of her own, I've been gone for a while." he asked.
"Over 20 years nii-san, you need to keep a watch. Especially since you're a hermit at your age." Delia said with her own giggle that made Naruto frown.
"Ok that's enough age shaming. I thought I taught you better than that Delia." Robin said as she squatted down meet Delia as well.
Delia smiled brightly as she saw Robin, "Onee-sama! You're watching over Ash and Red too?" she asked excitedly.
"Well I thought they needed protection from Naruto's training." Robin said as Delia smiled.
"So you wouldn't have followed my two sons if Naruto wasn't with them?" Delia asked with a knowing smirk.
Robin's smile disappeared, "Well I wouldn't have known they were yours. Besides I wouldn't be able to catch up with you right now without Naruto." she said.
"I knew it! You're hoping to tell nii-san how you feel!" Delia said accusingly.
Robin gave a rare blush, "I don't know what you're talking about." she said.
Delia laughed, "I knew you and nii-san had something going." she said.
"Ash what the heck is going on?" Red asked.
Ash whispered into his brother's ear, "I don't know, maybe Robin and Naruto are super best friends or something." he said.
Naruto finally decided to speak up, "Ok putting aside your bad thoughts. How is the modelling gig?" he asked.
Delia gave him a confused look, "My what?" she asked.
"Your modeling gig, you told me when you were a little girl. That you wanted to be a model and a pokemon trainer." Naruto answered.
"Well, I never really went through with it. So I decided to run my mother's restaurant until I had Ash and Red." Delia replied.
Naruto shook his head, "Well you shouldn't give up your dreams Delia. I taught you better than that. Besides, you're beautiful for someone at age 23." he said.
Delia began to blush and stutter, "You know Delia, I turned down a recent photo shooting opportunity. If you want, I can give them a call and we can do some photos together." Robin said as Delia turned beet red.
"Hey, don't tease me like that!" Delia whined as both adults laughed at her expense.
"Ok, I think Delia-chan has had enough." Naruto said before getting his own business done. "Speaking of which, Sam since you're still a professor. Do you think you do me a favor and hang onto some pokemon for me?" he asked.
"I don't see why not. Can you tell me your current line up of pokemon?" Professor Oak asked.
"Sure, they're Salamence, Raikou, Growlithe and Grovyle. You might want to do the same for Robin." Naruto answered.
Professor Oak nodded, "I see, so your lineup is mainly from the other regions. Not to mention something as legendary and powerful as Raikou, I shouldn't expect less hehe. I'll send you and Robin a pokedex right now." he said.
"What about you Robin? We haven't seen you use pokemon yet?" Ash asked.
"I just have a few, Flygon, Milotic and Moltres. I wouldn't mind seeing the latest version of the pokedex as well." Robin said as the professor prepared another one just for her as well as thinking about the legendary pokemon that both experienced trainers are carrying with them.
"Anyways nii-san, since you're with Ash and Red. Can you do me a small favor?" Delia asked.
"Just say it, I know I won't like it." Naruto said with a sigh.
Delia puffed her cheeks before speaking, "Can you watch over my boys? I know it's a lot to ask, but I think you're the best teacher to help them prepare for the pokemon league. Especially with all the challenges and hardships they may face. I'm not asking you to babysit or tell them everything, but I believe you're the best of the best!" she explained.
"Delia." Naruto said in a stern voice.
Delia proceeded to give him puppy eyes, "And Delia uses Puppy Eyes! It's very effective against Naruto." Robin said making Naruto sigh.
"Yare yare, fine, but you owe me a free meal at the Pallet House when either Ash or Red make back the trophy, medal or whatever the award this year is." Naruto said as Delia smiled.
"Thank you nii-san! Boys, listen to Naruto and onee-sama, please make sure nii-san doesn't kill them." Delia said.
"I'll send you both a pair of pokedexes. Take care everyone!" Professor Oak said before ending the call.
"Sweet, Naruto what are you going to teach us on the way the pokemon league?" Ash asked while ignoring the fact that Delia and Professor Oak confirmed his dangerous training methods.
Before Naruto could answer that question. They were interrupted by the loud sounds of engines roaring in the distance. Naruto turned around to see a group of bikers crashing through the doorway and stopping in front of Nurse Joy who looked a bit frightened. The rider was some skinny looking man who was wearing a vest with no undershirt that had a tattoo of a fist on his right arm.
"Hey losers! We're the Fists Of Kanto! We're looking for strong challengers to satisfy our need to win!" the man said.
"Hey, keep it down. You're giving me a freaking headache." Naruto said.
"Oi, I wasn't talking to you old man. I'm looking for strong trainers." the man said rudely.
"Say that to my face." Naruto said as the man grinned as he approached Naruto.
A few minutes later outside
"Hey where's Gin!?" a large bearded biker asked.
A second later, the biker from the pokemon center could be seen crashing through the doorway and into the ground. The bikers approached him and noticed that he had swirls in his eyes before a Primeape landed on his chest and also appeared knocked out.

"Who did this?" the bearded man demanded.
"I did, he pissed me the hell off." Naruto said as he walked out.
"Get him boys!" the leader asked as he and his gang summoned fighting type pokemon beside them.
Naruto adjusted his hat and pointed at them, "Go get them Salamence!" he ordered as Salamence appeared.
"What is that thing!?" one of them asked.
"Dragon's Breath and finish any stragglers with Dragon's Claw!" Naruto ordered as the fighting pokemon ran at Salamence hoping to win with brute force alone.
Sadly brute force doesn't win every fight.

An hour later
After a humiliating defeat followed by nearly being burned to a crisp. The bikers were rounded up and being taken into custody by Officer Jenny and her fellow officers.
"Thanks again Mr. Uzukaze. I'm glad to see you're back from your isolated retreat." Officer Jenny said.
"It was nothing, they just annoyed me and threatened Nurse Joy." Naruto replied as Nurse Joy waved him off.
That's when one of the biker's stood up, "Hey you better watch your back old man! We'll get out and we're gonna stalk you and mess with you! You won't be able to sleep without keeping an eye open the whole time! You hear me!? We're gonna...!"
"SHUT THE HELL UP! YOU'RE ANNOYING!" Naruto yelled.
"Yes sir." the biker said as he sat back down fearfully.
Brock felt a bit worried, "Hey Naruto, don't you think you were a bit threatening?" he asked before noticing that Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny were blushing and had hearts flowing over their heads.
"No, not at all. Besides, Officer Jenny is a competent police officer who is good at her job and luckily Nurse Joy wasn't hurt." Naruto replied as he didn't notice the looks on their faces.
"Oh no need to worry about me." Nurse Joy said as she wrapped her arms around Naruto's bicep. "Speaking of which, maybe you should stay longer and let me take a look at Salamence." she said.
Officer Jenny quickly grabbed onto Naruto's other arm, "Actually if you have the time. I wouldn't mind you coming down to the station and helping with some paperwork to better register the incident." she said.
Both Joy and Jenny looked at each other as sparks of lightning collided against each other.
"Actually, we should finish up our business here as soon as possible. We do have some important events to attend to." Robin said as she placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder.
'Aw, he's taken.' both of them thought before letting go of him.

Meanwhile in the distance, Team Rocket was watching from a distance with their binoculars. Both feeling scared of Naruto as they felt lucky as to not confront him earlier. Seeing as he's more well experienced and would have likely hurt them even more than before if they annoyed him.
"I don't understand. Is Pikachu really worth it?" Meowth asked.
"Well it doesn't matter. The boss said that he wants an eye on that Naruto guy because the higher ups said so." Jessie answered.
"I thought our boss was the higher ups?" James asked.
"I thought so too, but who knows who's pulling the strings for him. Besides, he's scary enough as he is. Do you really want to deal with the boss of our boss?" Jessie asked as both nodded. "Good, I don't want to either." she said as she was unaware of what was really going on behind Team Rocket.
"Still, that dragon type is really strong. Especially against a big group of pokemon and trainers." James said with some awe.
"Well maybe we can catch if given the chance. Though we should let it get weakened or tired first." Jessie suggested.
Meowth nodded in agreement, "Definitely, I'm not fighting that thing!" he exclaimed.
And thus, the journey through the Kanto Region has only just begun for everyone.
