With his quest being clearly set, Jaune began to lead his new group of friends, these maidens with him on this vague and general quest as he began to fiddle with this ancient smartphone he was blessed with.
"Tell me again how does this smartphone help me on our quest" asked Jaune as he examined the device.
"It's the only device allowed in these lands, at least for now, that will not only let you communicate with the Oracle, but also check and manage your team" explained the ever stoic Sharpshooter.
"Manage my team, what do you mean" asked Jaune, "I can show you master" said Petitrite as she ushered Jaune to comedown to her eye level.
"See, you currently have me, Sharpshooter, and Chocomint on your current team, you also can check on our individual abilities, damage threshold, and damage output" said Petitrite.
"Well look that, that's pretty darn interesting, is there anything else I should know about this little device of mine" asked Jaune, "Yes any maiden you have previously made into a permanent ally can be called or recalled based on the situation your in on command" explained Petitrite.
"Good to know, but wouldn't it be better if we were all together when adventuring" asked Jaune, "If I may speak up, that wouldn't be wise, remember we're in a current civil war and until we've gotten better control of our kingdom, we unfortunately need to be spread out" explained Chocomint.
"More so, having a maxed party of 5 maidens, and not counting you, may provoke the wrong kind of attention, if not also halt progress due to our fellow maidens wanting to be extra cautious" added Sharpshooter.
"That makes a lot of sense now that you've said it" said Jaune, "No worries master, I swear to always stand by your side no matter what" reassured Petitrite.
"Hope that's not you trying to be tough now, cause I spot some fast company ahead of us" said Sharpshooter.
Ahead of the group stood a maiden by herself who had platinum blonde hair and soulless black eye as her clothes were in tatters saved for the top portion to her white on orange sun dress as her red sweater was practically torn fabric and her stockings filled with holes, but what really made her stood out was a large metal device clamped to her head as the lard dome was glowing red, with wires connected to a metal choker and other various wires dragging behind her; This was Brain Crusher.
"I don't suppose she's friendly now" asked Jaune, "Stand back master, that's Brain Crusher, and she's on the same tier level as Petitrite" said Chocomint.
"Only difference is that she has a real bite to her name" said Sharpshooter as she took a knee and landed a clear headshot onto Brain Crusher, causing the maiden to whip her head back, only for her to readjust and regain her footing again.
"Destroy, destroy… Kill, kill…" said Brain Crusher in an autonomous voice as she started charging forward preparing to attack the group with a single punch, but Jaune out of instinct rushed forward and lifted his shield up to take the blunt of the blow.
"Hurry up and attack her guys!" shouted Jaune, "Take this, Minty Strike!" shouted Chocomint as she slammed the handle to her umbrella onto Brain Crushers head, but the maiden mere brushed it aside as she grabbed Chocomint by the color of her dress, before tossing her overhand onto a tree.
"Hey!" shouted Jaune as he parried past Brain Crusher and started slicing into the maiden as she stood there and took the blow like it was nothing.
"Error, you are not a maiden… You are an unknown anomaly… You must be destroyed, destroyed" said Brain Crusher as she tried to reach for Jaune if not for Sharpshooter shooting the maiden's hand.
"Hey master, quit being a sitting duck and get back here" said Sharpshooter as she fired another round into Brain Crusher who recoiled a little from the hit, but showed no signs of defeat.
Frustrated, Jaune took to Sharpshooters words as he instead focused on checking up on Chocomint.
Rushing past where the maidens were fighting, Jaune spotted Chocomint lying on a brunch in a dazed state.
"Chocomint, are you all right" asked Jaune, "Ugh, please no medicine or TV, only mint flavored hot chocolate can cure my ailment" said a dizzy Chocomint as she began to shake the stars out of her head.
"Huh, master what happened" asked Chocomint, "You were seeing stars thanks to Brain Crusher over there" Jaune said as he nudged his head towards to where Brain Crusher was attempting to attack Sharpshooter as the maiden awkwardly tries to not only evade but shoot the maiden.
"Here let me get you down" said Jaune as Chocomint trusted Jaune as she slid off the branch and landed safely in his arms.
"Thanks" said Chocomint, "My pleasure, I just wish I could do more than just let you guys do all the fighting" said Jaune.
"Don't feel to bad, Brain Crusher is literally a tier higher than me and Sharpshooter and is more suited for combat than Petitrite" said Chocomint as Jaune gently set her down.
"So is there nothing we can do" asked Jaune, "Unfortunately, even our unique skills are barely putting a dent into Brain Crusher" said Chocomint.
"Unique skill, what do you mean, like a semblance ability" asked Jaune as he recalled Petitrite mentioning this on their first encounter, but never understood what she meant by it.
"I'm not sure what this semblance ability you speak of means, but for me, my unique ability is called Minty strike, it allows me to deliver a single increased blow of up to 350% of my normal attack, with a cooling effect to boot, though really it doesn't appear to do much against a fellow Cool Maiden like Brain Crusher, who thankfully hasn't activated her unique skill or we'd all be in trouble" said Chocomint.
"Otherwise you have Petitrite whose ability restores or even brings down the wait period for us to activate our unique skills depending on how easy it is to view it" said Chocomint as Jaune recalled Petitrite using her watering can on him to bring up his aura so that the pair could escape.
"So like I said, there's not much we can do, or any point on dwelling on the matter" said Chocomint as she forced a smile on her face in spite of how bad Sharpshooter was getting her ass kicked.
"Mayber there is way" said Jaune, "What do you mean by that master?" asked Chocomint, "If Petitrite can restore more aura, maybe the same can be done the other way around" said Jaune.
"I don't follow" said Chocomint, "My semblance ability is amplification, maybe, just maybe we have a fighting chance" said Jaune.
"It's a far shot, but one I'm willing to do for you master" said Chocomint, "Sweet, let's regroup and try attacking her again" said Jaune as he finally got to take lead in their assault against Brain Crusher.
Speaking of, the defected maiden finally got a hold of Sharpshooter by gripping onto her rifle.
In a swift motion, Brain Crusher tossed Sharpshooter into the air as the maiden gasped in terror as she began to fall down where Brain Crusher did a perfect midair back kick onto Sharpshooter as she went tumbling towards Petitrite,
"Are you 2 all right" asked Jaune as he rushed to their side, "Just peachy master" coughed Sharpshooter as she looked back on Brain Crusher as she paced herself towards the group.
"No worries, I have an idea on taking her out, but you're going to have to trust me on this" said Jaune as he help Sharpshooter and Petitrite back on their feet.
"Petitrite use your ability on Chocomint first" said Jaune, "On it master" said Petitrite as she brought Chocomint back up to strength.
"All right guys, let's end this together" said Jaune as he offered his hand to Chocomint who graciously accepted it, while Sharpshooter looked back at him quizzically.
"You've got to trust me on this" said Jaune as Sharpshooter sighed before taking his hand and leading Jaune to cop a feel on her left boob.
"Sharpshooter?!" exclaimed Chocomint, "I kinda need both my hands here to use my weapons, and I trust master enough to get his head out the gutter and lead is to victory, if that's what he intends to do" said Sharpshooter as Jaune quickly shook his head from his charmed stupor.
"Right! Be ready to use your unique abilities… now!" shouted Jaune as his aura flared up in a way that both Sharpshooter and Chocomint felt invigorated with a power they thought they could never achieve in their lives.
Sensing this uneasy growth of power from the maidens before her, Brain Crusher began to charge at them and was preparing her unique ability as well but it was too late for the opposing maiden.
"Far Snipe/Minty Strike" shouted Sharpshooter and Chocomint as Sharpshooter shot the brain device off the zombified maiden, before Chocomint dashed forward and opted to deliver a straight punch to Brain Crusher's body as the maiden was sent sprawling back.
For a good minute the maiden in question spazzed out in a fey seizure like state before Brain Crusher erupted into small shards of snowflakes into the air.
"Oh my god I can't believe that actually work" said Chocomint, "You can say that again, I'm just glad that my wild epiphany proved to be merit in our battle" said Jaune as he let out a sigh of relief.
"And with that your reputation and your power grows master" said Sharpshooter as the maiden slowly stepped away from Jaune.
"What do you mean" asked Jaune, "Petitrite will fill you in, I'm going to scout on ahead in case we cross paths with more maidens, be it friend or foe" said Sharpshooter.
"Here let me show you master" Petitrite said eagerly as she pulled Jaune down to her level as he whipped out the ancient relic, and saw that his group of maidens literally leveled up like characters in an Isekai anime.
"This amazing" said Jaune, "Yeah more so, word of your defeat and victories will definitely spread to the other celestial maidens" said Petitrite as she showed Jaune his placement in rankings, which seemed a bit redundant on first glance, but saw that he was approaching currently 3rd in power to the remnants of the previous Celestial lords, one being obviously Ozpin's past lives and the other that simply read REDACTED, who was funny enough in first place.
"All right, I'm starting to enjoy and get the hang of this thing and how the rules of this world works" said Jaune as he was suddenly getting a call from Oracle.
"Master Jaune, are you and the other maidens all right" asked Oracle on the other line, "Yeah we managed to survive just fine Oracle, we're all in one piece" assured Jaune.
"That's a relief, though I must know, how did you manage to defeat Brain Crusher" asked Oracle, "Mainly through team work, hope, and elbow grease. Apparently my semblance ability to amplify has a positive effect on celestial maidens, like my friends back in Remnant…" said Jaune as the though finally hit him.
Even before he came the Celestial World, Jaune was prepared to give up, and didn't think much about his friends and how they were doing and if they made it out alive like him.
But now that he brought up his home and friends, he felt hurt, like he betrayed them so easily and the fact he was able to forget about them, from not only by their names and appearance, but the times they laughed, smiled, and confining with each other in their moments of weakness left Jaune with a twisted knot in his stomach.
"…aster… master" called Petitrite as Jaune snapped back from reality, "What?" Jaune asked dumbfounded.
"You sort of got lost in thought, are you ok" asked Chocomint, "Yeah, I'm fine. Um, sorry for blanking out on your like that Oracle" Jaune said.
"It's all right and if there's a problem ailing you, please don't be afraid to reach out to me or any of us whom you come to encounter and befriend on this journey of yours" said Oracle.
"Noted, until then" said Jaune, "Until then master Jaune, I wish you well" said Oracle as she finally hung up on Jaune.
"Here you go" said Chocomint as she poured Jaune a mint flavored hot chocolate.
"This should help ease your nerves, and like Oracle said, we're here to hear you out master" said Chocomint with a smile as Jaune took a sip from his drink.
"Mm, that is good" commented Jaune as he got his new team to smile.
"I… I'm not ready to talk about… things, yeah things right now, but when the time comes I'll tell you guys" Jaune said with a smile.
"Come on, lets catch up to Sharpshooter, we still got a long Journey ahead of us" said Jaune as a good distance from them we see that Sharpshooter was having her own emotional conflicting battle.
Are you stupid!? It's bad enough you dress very loose, but now you kinda make it seem your lowkey slutty to your brand new master, idiot!, thought Sharpshooter as she was scolding herself for being so brash towards Jaune and on their first encounter no less.
"Hello there" greeted a new voice that surprised Sharpshooter as she began to lift up her rifle and raise it up to sight.
"Who's there!" demanded Sharpshooter as she stayed vigilant while a new maiden snuck behind her.
This new maiden had not only long monochrome colored hair kept in an unkept ponytail, but she had dog ears atop her head which were white and bright like the stars themselves, a red crop top with a large V splitting down to her cleavage, black booty shorts with a red belt and a kickass silver dog buckle, and large red on black coat, with red straps on her sleeves, white ankle high boots with black straps, a set of small throwing knives on her right thigh held tightly by a red strap, as the maiden in question carried with her 2 katana's one strapped on her right hip and on casually resting on her shoulder; This was Sirius.
With a light clearing of her throat, Sirius finally got Sharpshooter's attention as the maiden turned herself and rifle towards the new celestial maiden.
"It's you…" stated Sharpshooter as Sirius said nothing but stared at her with her own blank and board expression that Sharpshooter was known for as well.
Ok so I'm going to end this chapter right here, and well lets just say there's a lot that needs to be said, but I'm either to lazy or still not mentally present to address it all, so I'll give it my best.
2024 was definitely a year so far for RWBY, and like everyone else I do hope we not only get a season 10, but a proper conclusion to this series we've all fell in love with.
Granted there's a rumor going on about how they'll probably adapt the final season into a manga, which mind you I will read, but would feel like it's still a bit of a cop out, but honestly RWBY is to big for it to go out like that, so yeah really hoping for a big budget season 10.
I've said my piece on the matter, and all I ask is that I hear back from you guys, which from already at the start of chapter 1, when I decided to scrap and remake this story shows that I was going in a better direction by jumpstarting from season 9 instead of season 1 for whatever reason, I'm not complaining.
