Chapter 6:

When Day Breaks

As I said before, information is scarce and figuring out what actually happened amidst the chaos is tricky. I just write down whatever I've seen and heard that might be of importance, in case I or someone else tries to figure out what happened; as I mentioned before it's hard to find any information and I fear Olympus is deleting info on purpose.

So far this is the general timeline of the last three days

ㅤㅤ

Day 0:

-Apparently the message Calypso and I received was also sent to every major government and news channel worldwide.

I think it's safe to assume both camps received it as well. Maybe every demigod? I tried contacting people but I got no response.

Day 1:

-Everywhere the mist has been lifted from the divine world. Billions on the planet witnessed the flying city above the Empire State building after videos of it started circulating online, worldwide panic followed.

Must be Hecate's work. This one wasn't so bad.

-The president went insane during a live press conference. I didn't watch it myself but I was told every world leader has been experiencing the same wave of insanity.

Apparently the president of Canada suddenly clawed out his own eyes while speaking to the public.

I fear this might be Dionysus' doing.

-Every nuclear device around the world was launched in highly populated areas. This was directly after people went insane.

For some reason this didn't work, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this.

I think someone, or something, stopped the missiles before they reached their destination.

-Directly after people going insane live, communications everywhere went dark. No phone, internet or TV.

-Coastal cities worldwide have been hit by a giant tidal wave, causing untold damage. Certain parts of Europe and Asia disappeared underwater.

The deadcount is in the millions.

I don't really know what to think of this one, still waiting for the realization to kick in.

Percy stared at the page, a nauseating feeling made his head spin.

The mist was lifted but why? What would have gone through the heads of the mortals after witnessing the city in the sky?

Another question came to mind, causing his sickness to increase by a thousandfold.

Were his parents and sister fine? Did they escape the devastating wave brought forth by...NO. He knew Poseidon. He could be temperamental but he would never do anything like this. Especially not after everything that had happened the past two decades. Leo had to be wrong. Right?

With greater reluctance Percy continued to read.

Day 2:

Calypso and I are heading towards Camp Halfblood. Just maybe the gods left camp alone. Its a foolish wish but until I see it with my own eyes there is still hope.

We hope to find Rachel, maybe she knows what the hell is happening.

Gods, I've seen so much fucked up shit and dead the last two days. I tried to help people but there are just too many people in need of help that Calypso decided we would have to ignore them if we ever want to make progress.

I can help more people by putting an end to this madness, or so I tell myself when I turn my gaze away when I see survivors crying for help.

Some relatively good news. The internet and TV are working like normal again. Although I think this is not an act of mercy, rather just the gods trying to show how horribly outclassed we are.

-The Waystation got destroyed. Indiana is completely in shambles. Earthquakes across the world appeared followed by a second tidal wave; finishing off whoever survived the first wave.

There are no numbers but Japan has disappeared off the map completely.

Gods, I don't even know if I want to know the numbers.

-Zombies, goddamn zombies. They popped out of the ground in all major cities.

They're at least not infectious and their numbers are relatively low but still...

At least they're easy to deal with. A door stops them dead in their tracks.

-A news report from Paris showed millions of skeletons crawling out of the catacombs and running through the streets. I swear there was a giant Skeleton plucking fighter jets out off the air.

-Electronic images of Medusa's face were spread across the web. I am lucky I don't own a phone but I saw so many statues and they all look horrified.

There's only one goddess both creative and cruel enough to think of such a heinous thing.

-Drakons released.

There is much more but I can't keep my head straight at the moment. We managed to land near a refugee camp that is clear of the living dead. Hopefully we can finally get some sleep before we reach camp tomorrow.

Gods, this had been such a nightmare. I really hope Rachel has some answers.

A/N Thanks for reading again. I wanted to write this chapter since I thought of this fic so I hope I nailed it. Anyway, for anyone who cares a chapter for insane is close to releasiong.
