Chapter 17: Desert dust
"Ah, thank you Giannis, your contributions to our sector of the revolution have helped us very much." "Don't mention it." Giannis responded to the leader. It had been three months since she had signed up for the sting operation to take down a revolution that could be dangerous for stability. During all of this time she worked her way up their hierarchy to the point of being the leader's right hand. Even though her initial views of this being a terrorist group were true, they weren't cruel to their members. It was almost like a family tribe. Her orders were to lead them into a trap that would kill them all, but that would mean killing all of them, including the peaceful ones of the group and the children. Her current hopes included somehow turning them peaceful enough to reintroduce them into society for if she could turn them docile, they would help greatly.
The day was getting close before she was set to lead them into the trap, but she honestly began to see them as family. She kind of had bad luck with family. At a young age, she used to have many siblings, but as time went on, they all died due to various reasons. Her first sister died from a car crash, she was five during the time. Sisters 2-7 died during a gang war, and her last two died from sickness. Of course, she still had Jamarius Quangledangle till adulthood, but they were never close. Bingus really only managed to cope with friends like Juandale Pringle, who had always been there for everyone, Henry Bartholomew Dinglenut, who helped give them all the sigma grindset, and the now late Quandale Dingle. She was still trying to find the perpetrator for revenge.
"So you've been through a lot in your life." Giannis drew her custom 5.56x45mm rifle with personalized stock, suppressor, x 1.33 scope, and a bayonet. "Show yourself." "Yourselves," "Whatever, you are in a highly defended base, choose your words carefully." From the tent two figures emerged, one from a shadow and the other from the sunlight. "Great, stereotypical light dark gods, let me guess, you want me to pick one of your sides?" The one from the darker figure began speaking. "We mean no harm, but that gun ain't go-" Two shots at the head aimed at the two figures, but both bullets dissipate in dark and light respectfully. The lighter figure continued. "Now, is that how you treat guests, I mean that isn't how we are treating you." Giannis looked outside the tent to see how they were teleported into a landscape, night and day mixing together. "Now, I would rather if your "Family" don't find us, we only want you to hear this." The darker figure spoke. "Before we continue, take this artifact, it will help." The lighter figure stated, floating a locket to Bingus.
"Now before we continue, let us introduce ourselves. Consider me Tabius." "Call me Ilia." Ilia began speaking. "Something very grand is at play, something that threatens many." "A trait from you is being decided for all of life that has it whether it lives or not," Tabius continued. "Tabius and I have done some investigations on what is happening. From what he and I have deduced, a figure that is all powerful is preparing an invasion to destroy everything." "We have a problem though, there was originally going to be a messenger coming here instead of us, but it got destroyed, meaning that this figure is on to us. She and I are merely mages who have uncovered a plot and wish to warn others." "Well this is a lot to take in, thanks I guess." Bingus responded. "Then this is farewell." Both of the figures dissipated away. "That was weird." Giannis commented, checking her phone.
It was noon and she got a notification from the agency. "Nice going getting them to move to the target of our trap. Once they are destroyed, we can deliver you home and your payment." Would it be worth it, losing more family all for a mission? She didn't have time to think about that, for she was called. Moving out from the tent Bingus saw a thunderstorm from the distance. It was far, but it was approaching. That's strange, rain was a rarity, but it could be welcomed. After the notice, she moved back into the leader's tent to continue her mission.
