April and Jackson are forced to partner together during their first day at Mercy West. (Based on the deleted scene that apparently exists from 12x11)
"Hi, I'm Bianca. Do either of you already have a partner?"
Robert and Jackson whip their heads around, finding themselves greeted by the brunette intern who said she was from Texas.
"Nope!" Charles states almost immediately, causing Jackson to frown. So much for sticking together and agreeing to be lab partners, "Hi. Charles Percy."
"Bianca Freeman. You sure you don't have a partner...?"
"No, it's fine," Jackson grumbles. He definitely owes me though, he thinks to himself, scanning the room to see who's free. After how awkwardly his introduction went, the last thing he wants is to get stuck with someone who's going to ask him twenty questions about his family name. Its only his first day, and he wants to blend in and prove himself just like everybody else.
It takes him a moment to realise that the only available intern yet to be paired up, is, in fact, someone who will ask him twenty questions about his family name. (or his mother's career highs and lows. Great.) The strange girl from the farm - or April as she'd said her name was, looks lost as she desperately tried to find someone to partner with her (because honestly, telling a bunch of interns about your future plans to get married and have three kids wasn't the way to get them to warm up to you). Jackson finds himself turning to Charles once more, watching for a moment as he attempts to flirt with Bianca, before rolling his eyes and making his way over to the tiny woman with the red notebook.
"Guessing you need a partner?"
"Yes! I do, yes. April Kepner, and you're Jackson Avery, right?"
"Yep."
"Great! Oh, so you said you know Catherine? Do you think if I wrote her a letter, she'd read it? Or do you have her number? I would love to meet her someday and pick her brain-"
"Look, if we're going to do this, I'd rather not talk about my m-Catherine Avery. Okay?"
"I'm sorry. Its just, she's so amazing and-"
"April." The look he's giving her tells her he's serious, so she slides her little notebook into her lab pocket and tries to calm some of her neurotic energy. She can't help it though - she's just so excited to finally be one step closer to living her dreams.
"Okay, okay. I'll stop."
