Max huffs, feeling the bed shift under him as he sleeps off his latest rehab appointment. He squints an eye open and looks around, pleasantly surprised to find Adam settling in next to him. "Hmph," he grumbles, rolling over and pressing his face into Adam's neck, exhaling as Adam lightly runs his fingers over Max's curls. "You're really staying," he says groggily. "All weekend?"
"All weekend," Adam confirms. "You know this means I'm going to be watching a crapload of wrestling."
Max grimaces, then shrugs. "S'fine," he says. "I'll watch some of it with you."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
Adam smiles at him and kisses the side of his head before pulling the bedding up over them. "Good, looking forward to it," he says quietly, observing how Max is already falling back asleep. He quickly follows suit.
"This is a ridiculous schedule," Max says the next day, idly petting Piper as Adam makes a list of the shows he wants to watch the next five days. "How will you find time to play any video games?"
Adam rolls his eyes at him. "Don't doubt me," he jokes before settling down on the couch, Piper looking displeased as the cushions shift around her. "Sorry, Piper."
Max comes and goes throughout Adam's wrestling marathon weekend, but he's in the room, back to the TV, when the ROH tag title match begins Friday night, and Adam watches as his shoulders tense. "Hey," he says softly, but Max shakes his head and takes his leave, Adam exhaling softly as he mutes the player and watches the match quietly. Once he sees Wardlow help Bennett and Taven retain, he gets up and heads into the bedroom, where Max is kneeling on the floor,Piper purring in his arms. "Are you ok?" he asks, settling down on the bed and nudging lightly at Max's leg with his good foot.
"Never better," Max says, playing with Piper's ears gently.
"Clearly," Adam sighs. "Hey." He continues nudging at him until Max looks up at him, his eyes dim. "Come up here?"
Max makes a face, then slowly gets up and settles down next to Adam on the side of the bed. "Yeah?"
"I don't need to watch any more wrestling this weekend," Adam offers. "We can go out and do something. What do you want?"
Max winces. "Look, I just... i'm not trying to ruin things for you," he says. "You should be able to spend this weekend however you want. Just, uh. You know. Those titles meant something to me, and it... it's difficult seeing them on their waists now. You know?"
Adam's eyes soften. "I do. I'm sorry, I should've muted it sooner." He leans into Max's side and squeezes his hand. "Just keep in mind, the offer stands. You wanna go out and do something this weekend, just let me know. I'll budget up off of the couch and be ready to go as soon as you say something."
Max chuckles a little, wiping a hand down his face. "Ok," he mumbles, pressing back against Adam. "I'll keep it in mind."
Adam beams and kisses him, resting their foreheads together, content to just breathe in time with Max as Piper bats at their fingers.

After a weekend of nearly nonstop wrestling, Adam's ears are buzzing and his eyes are aching. It was fun, but it was a lot. And he's not quite done. He's not great with technology, but he's picked up some tricks and he uses his streaming equipment to record a few clips here and there, mashing them together into a three minute long video. Once he's contented enough with his efforts, he gets up from the couch for the first time in what feels like forever, making his way into the bedroom.
Max is propped up on some pillows, dozing with his phone in hand, some video playing. Adam smiles a little and reaches out, easing the device from his slack fingers, setting it aside before laying down next to Max, patting his cheek until he stirs, dark eyes blinking sluggishly as he looks over. "Adam?"
"Hey, Max. Sleepy?"
"Mm," he sighs. "Yeah. It all over?"
"Yep." Adam kisses him and watches as he looks around. "Your phone's on the table," he says quietly. "I have something else I want you to watch."
Max hums sleepily and blinks as Adam holds his phone out to him. "What's this?" he mumbles, wiping at his eyes before pressing play. He watches quietly, eyes flickering over to Adam a couple of times before replaying the video. "Really?"
"Yeah," Adam says. "I know this weekend hasn't been easy for you, there was a lot of wrestling. I just wanted to show you that as much as you miss it, people miss you as much. No matter which company it is."
Max smirks a little, still staring at the video of people chanting for him at Dynamite, at Wrestlemania. He sighs and glances back at Adam. "Thank you," he says quietly.
"You're welcome," Adam says, leaning in for another kiss.
"Gotta be honest, though, you kinda look like crap, babe," Max teases, tugging lightly at his messy ponytail. "Let's put the phones aside and just get some sleep, how's that sound?"
Adam chuckles. "Sounds perfect," he says. "I think I feel as rough as I look." He collects his phone and sets it next to Max's before turning the light off and cuddling in next to him, Max's arm wrapping around him and holding him close. "Good night."
"Good night," Max echoes, pressing a kiss to the top of Adam's head before easing back into hte pillows, drifting back to sleep almost immediately.
