It was a sunny day in Orlando, Florida, and the parks were busy in the Magic Kingdom. For one young man, it was exactly what he thought it would be. For 10 years he had wanted to visit, and now it was possible. Trevor Garcia walked through the line of Space Mountain, hoping to experience the ride for the first time, when all of a sudden a cast member tapped his shoulder, turning his attention from the line towards them.
"Excuse me sir, but there's been a special request for you. Please follow me." They asked politely as Trevor stepped out of line to follow the employee.
"Are we going to be seeing some underground disney? Maybe even backstage? Am I in trouble?" He asked very nervously.
The cast members chuckled at his words. "Of course not dear, but our CEO wishes to speak to you. Something about a promise that would be kept." She almost said this unsurely, causing him to doubt her words.
As they made their way towards an office building that looked like a bland building, the door opened and there stood Bob Iger and a tall man with a lab coat. "This is the guy you requested Mr. Iger? Him?" As the three examined him, they saw his skinny yet fit stature, but with his clothing he looked sketchy, since he wore baggy clothes.
"Am I too delinquent for you? I assure you this is just 2000s fashion, not thug clothes. Most of my morals came from Disney movies, so I wouldn't be the angry type." Trevor said reassuringly. He was exactly sure why the CEO of disney wanted him, but he wanted to let them know he wasn't some junkie, he was a dedicated fan.
"And that's exactly why we need you." Iger explained. "You see, we've been setting up a project called Dreamlight Valley, which you know as the video game." Trevor nodded in acknowledgment before Iger continued, "Now, it's going to be reality. We have turned the magic kingdom castle into a portal for the movies. A way for them to travel within our world."
Trevor was amazed by this statement. "That's incredible! It's like you're wanting to have your characters experience life with us!" Then Trevor pondered about something. "But how would they know it's the real world?"
"Easy. You and the other guy will show them." A man with a lab coat said as another gentleman Trevor's age walked beside him. He seemed to be more built than him, Although only a few inches taller. "By allowing them to come through the portal, you and this gentleman here bear the responsibility to show them the ways of the human realm."
"Ah! Forgive me, We haven't introduced ourselves." The man said as they both bowed. "This is Nakumoto Yakuzama. He was selected as another candidate from Tokyo Disneyland." He rose after his name was spoken. "I am Professor Reginald Herrington. But you may call me Reggie."
"Wait. Tokyo Disneyland isn't owned by Disney. How did you manage to recruit him? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be handling any business sides of that park." Trevor asked, confused by the Japanese man now his ally. He wasn't against it, but he wasn't entirely sure about the legitimacy of this whole thing.
"Because I care just like you." Nakumoto answered as Trevor turned his attention towards him. "You and I share the same love for this company. The movies, the memories. I wish to preserve them just as much as you do." He said this with such ferocity that even Trevor could only look in awe.
"Say no more!" Trevor responded with a hand held high, which Nakumoto proceeded to grip his arm in return, in a handshake of brotherhood.
"Well, now that this is out of the way. Allow me to show you the project. Follow me." The professor said as they both followed him into a large room full of computers, monitored, security walls, and guards. Then, there was the portal. It was about 20 feet long and 20ft high, and it almost looked like the Stargate (except without the hieroglyphics of course).
"This is straight out of SG-1. How did you guys even get this built without anyone noticing?" Trevor asked as Reggie chuckled at the statement.
"Only certain workers and officials know about this facility. The board of directors are the only ones with enough clearance to even enter the portal room." Iger said as he showed them bracelets. "When you put these on, you're now a part of a plan to help the children of this world spend time with their favorite characters, and childhood memories. You will do your part to protect our heroes and princesses of the realms. Do you accept this responsibility?"
Trevor looked at Nakamoto with a nervous plea of approval. Besides what they had been told, it all seemed so far-fetched. Would they be risking their lives doing this? Nakumoto looked towards the portal and looked at his palms, thinking to himself as he too thought about the dangers they might encounter.
After a few minutes, the both of them finally exchanged eye contact and nodded their heads in unison, signifying their approval. "I accept." They both say with determination in their voice.
Smiling at their answers, Iger places the bracelets in each of their hands, one purple (Trevor), and one black (Nakumoto). "These are your Magic Bands, otherwise known as your powers in the Disney realms. With these bracelets, you'll be able to create and control anything you see fit for the necessary protection of you and your partner. It does create guns, but we insist that you use them only on threats, and no one else. Although once we get to the Realm of Mulan.." Iger paused while a sigh of relief came out before resuming his speech, "You may use it on the Huns."
"Well that's very impressive. I assume in our world it's just a verification mechanism?" Trevor asked as Iger nodded his head downward to his question, indicating a Yes from the executive.
"So, what's our first mission?" Nakumoto said eagerly, which was followed with another eager nod from Trevor as Iger chuckled at the two childish young adults.
As Iger was starting to explain their first mission, Reggie came and gave them each a picture of a familiar white haired Disney princess (or queen to be more precise). "Frozen is your first mission. Queen Elsa, as you know, is one of our most cherished princesses and an icon to many. Your task is to complete the movie along with bringing her here to the human realm. You're also tasked with capturing Hans as a criminal." This caused a concerned look from both men, who turned their attention to Reggie, who was holding special handcuffs with a D engraved in them.
"This time gentleman, you will also be tasked with enforcing the law. You'll be arresting and apprehending villains from all the Disney movies and TV shows. Just be sure to act like you're cops." This caused quite a humorous reaction from Trevor and Nakumoto.
"Alright then. When do we begin?" Nakumoto asked as the portal started to activate, confirming his question.
"Remember Gentleman," iger said sternly, "Once you're in there, the portal will close. It won't reopen until you complete the mission. We will regain communication with you once you successfully travel into the realm. Godspeed!" and with that, Trevor and Nakumoto, unsure yet ready for an adventure, jumped through the portal, and thus began the adventure the two of them would never forget.
