After processing it surprisingly quickly he hopped out of the pool and started flailing his arms wildly.
Percy realized controlling the water might not just happen because he knows it can be done and flailing your arms around probably won't do much good. He probably needs to be in a specific pose or something.
Percy began to do all the poses he knew; Welcome To The Gunshow, Super Saiyan, Kamehameha, I Choose You Pikachu and he was out of ideas.
Percy feeling dejected decided to do what he was originally here for, buff his stats. Hopping in the back in the water, he began to do laps.

"Not bad Percy, did you need some more advice about that RPG that you're playing?" The Chazz asks with a wave back. Percy sitting down across from and taking a bite of his apple.
"Yeah that would be cool, but that's not the reason I came over." Percy responded a little disappointed.
"Oh then why'd you sit here then?" Chazz asks curiously.
"Well I mean I just thought it'd be cool to hang out for a bit, you're like one of the only cool people in this school!" Percy responded honestly

Chazz responds barely talking a breath
"I'm not sure, what do you recommend?" Percy asks uncertainly.

"Cool thanks for the advice man. I really appreciate it! Anyway we better get heading to Mr Brunner's class." Percy says while getting up.

An annoyingly high pitched voice pierces through the conversation. Percy didn't need to turn around to know who was there, the annoyingly bitchy Nancy Bobofit. Nancy had rolled up with her two groupies, all holding trays with their food and drinks on them, all sneering and giggling to themselves.
Percy really shouldn't have been as insulted as he was, he had been called a bastard many times, Gabe loved to remind him of that fact, but it always got him mad, really mad in this case because not only did she insult something he was really insecure about but also his friends. And that was something Percy wouldn't stand for. He felt a tugging in his gut and he knew what it was, he snatched Nancy's water bottle and aimed the cap towards her. Booom, the cap blew off and a pressurized blast of water hit her square in the face causing her to fall to the floor in shock.

After taking a moment to catch up Chazz asks Percy what was on his mind. "What the hell was that man, first off I don't know how you did that water bottle thing but you gotta teach me, and secondly dude you destroyed her what the hell you didn't have to go that hard, I mean sure she was a bitch but like dude that was brutal." Chazz said
"I don't know how I did the water bottle thing. I think I just squeezed really hard. And yeah it was kinda harsh but also she's made mine and Grover's life's hell all year, so I don't really regret it." Percy responds defensively
"Damn, looks like I'm gonna need to buff my strength stat before I can defend myself against bullies. And yeah fair enough anyway let's get to Mr Brunner's class, race you there!" Chazz says obviously trying to change the conversation.
As the two race off it's clear who's faster of the two, Percy is miles ahead of Chazz and they make it to class just before the first bell rings, deciding to take their seats and chatting as their classmates rolled in.
Mr Brunner began the lesson talking about the titans or something, Percy wasn't really paying attention to the lecture because of Mr Brunner's title or should he call him Chiron?

Now Percy wasn't sure why some old ass horse dude was here teaching him latin instead of being dead but he was just going to have to roll with it. After about ten minutes of zoning out Percy finally got his head back in the game and started paying attention to the lesson.

By the end of the first block of classes Percy was ready to book it and go back to that labyrinth place to get some more training in now that he has water powers because if he was being totally honest, controlling water was cool as shit and apparently he could do more then just that. But alas he had pre algebra before he could finish for the day.
Percy's body decided that it really needed to pee before his second last class for the day was over, so he decided to make a quick stop to the bathrooms before his last class, no biggie right? Well for most classes yes that wouldn't be a problem but Percy forgot he wasn't dealing with a regular person who understood the 'if you gotta go, you gotta go' mindset. No, he was dealing with a vindictive teacher who had it out for him and would take any opportunity to make things worse for him.
"Mr Jackson you were late to class, you will be staying back with me to discuss your punishment after class." Misses Dodds announced after he showed up to class five minutes late. This normally would suck pretty badly for anyone but what made the situation probably 100 times worse for Percy was the name and title over Misses Dodds head.

Grover noticed and tried to get his attention but all attempts were useless as Percy was intently reading her info. 'What if she wants to kill me in detention?' And then suddenly ice filled Percy's stomach as he remembered being hit by something last night when sneaking back, unless he was mistaken that was probably her and she knew it was him unless there was some other demigod in this school that he didn't know about. 'OH SHIT IM SO FUCKED THIS IS HOW I DIE!'

Once class was over Percy remained stuck in his seat trying to figure out a way out of this situation. Grover gave him a worried look. Percy thought maybe he could play dumb, he could only hope that would work, if worse comes to worse, he rips out his sword from his inventory and hopes for the best.
"So Mr Jackson enjoy any nighttime strolls lately?" Alecto asked in a sickly sweet voice, catching Percy completely off guard.
"I-Uh no ma'am." Percy responded in what he hoped was confidence. While silently opening his inventory, seeing he had a water bottle as well as his sword.
"Let me tell you something boy, you are a horrible liar!" Alectos sinister grin growing wider with each second.
"No honest ma'am i-" Percy began but was cut off as he began to steel his nerves.
"I know about the water this morning boy! Do not try to lie to me-" Before she could finish Percy had his sword and water bottle out and was going in to cut her head off but his blade just cut the side of her head while willing the water to hit her as hard as her could repeatedly. It was difficult for him to focus on both things at once but he somehow managed.

Percy inbetween dodging and taking hits realized he could use the water and attack from afar and decided to focus on dodging and blocking while he would use the water to attack her. Of course this didn't work too well because Percy forgot that he wasn't nearly as skilled with his water manipulation as he would like to be so he let go of it accidentally and it splashed all over him.

Percy went for it as soon as the opportunity showed itself and that wasn't for a while because Alecto could stay in the air for decently long periods of time. But eventually she showed signs of fatigue and the moment she landed to take a quick breather Percy was on her, slashing and swinging wildly, aiming for the head the whole time. Most swings were missing completely but the ones that hit did some damage.

After finally doing a bit more damage to her Percy remembered something about the classroom, it had water sprinklers for fires, meaning there was a lot of water just above their heads. Percy got an idea, why not make spikes? So he did his best to imagine the water turning into spikes and stabbing into Alecto but unfortunately all he could manage was one big ass spike.

Percy quickly hurried out of the ruined classroom, making his way through nearly empty hallways to the entrance of the labyrinth, because if there was one thing that fight taught him, it was that he needed to do some grinding because Misses Dodds was just the start of what was to come, he really only beat her though trickery and that probably won't work for all his future opponents so he needed to get strong and fast.
After making it to the alley that contains the entrance to the labyrinth and approaching it like before he was prompted with the same question as before.

Percy obviously pressing yes and pressing forward, going in deeper past the bone crucifix until he came to a hallway that had sounds coming from deeper within, sounds that sounded unnatural, sort of like the sounds zombies make from the old zombie movies Percy and his mum used to watch when he was younger, which was either a really good sign or a really bad sign.
Finally after a few more minutes of stealthy crouching against the walls and peeking around corners Percy found his way into an opening where the stone walls got further apart from one another and he got his first good look at the thing making all those groaning noises.
Common Draugr - Reanimated Corpse

In Norse mythology the Draugr, was a reanimated corpse that guarded the treasures it was buried with. They usually came to existence when a mean or unpleasant person was not buried in the proper way.

It looked like someone had left a viking corpse out in the cold for about 300 years and then decided to frankenstein it back to life, the skin of the Draugr was old rotten and leathery all at once somehow, its skull was clearly split and then forced back together, and the odor coming off this was like someone had left milk out and let it spoil, then dunking a human being in it, and chucking rotten eggs all over it, needless to say bad. Really bad, Percy was sure he was going to puke.
Percy steeled himself, pulling out his sword he snuck up behind the Draugr and swung for the neck taking the Draugr's head clean off, it turns out that 300 year old reanimated corpses don't have the strongest necks out there considering it's mostly bone left with a little bit of flesh as set dressing.

While Percy was celebrating his first beheading, the Draugr was busy putting his head back on and figuring out who knocked his head back on and getting ready to retaliate, picking up a broken rusty sword that was lying on the ground it went to return the favor.

"OWWW. Who did-, oh yeah I somehow forgot you're a zombie." Percy said before continuing to kill the draugr, this time making sure it was dead.

As the Draugr turned to dust it left behind $30 and a broken sword, which Percy didn't even bother keeping. After that Percy began going in deeper, every now and then finding a Draugr and killing it until finally the path opened up completely and he was apparently in the middle of a frozen forest on some mountain top. Draugr surrounded him left and right, apparently they were still asleep or something because they weren't moving, they were surrounding some sort of chest that looked like it had something in it.
So Percy began sneaking toward the chest being very careful to not wake the Draugr.

Percy had beheaded 11 of the 25 Draugr giving him enough time to finish off some of the hoard already beheaded but not without taking some damage in the process. A few Draugr ganged up on Percy but he wasn't going down without a fight.

Percy had somehow managed to kill off the previously beheaded Draugr but not without taking damage, so he quickly opened his inventory pulling out a pizza and scoffing it down in between dodges.

Until one of the Draugr that Percy was in the middle of stabbing to death decided to explode on him.

Instead of dying Percy decided to try and dodge out the way at the last second which worked for the most part he still took a little bit of damage but it definitely wasn't as bad as the first Draugr.

"Alright lets see whats in this chest" Percy said inspecting the stone chest that looked almost like a sarcophagus, but with a gold trimming on the edges of the chest, and the handle of the chest looked like a viking head but turned to stone. Percy pulled and pulled on the stone head but the lid would not move.
"Screw this!" Percy yelled before stabbing the stone head with his sword and to his surprise the head actually crumbled to rubble and the lid of the chest slightly opened. Percy pushed with all his 12 strength to move the stone lid covering whatever glorious rewards were inside.

The stone lid fell to the ground behind the chest and Percy finally saw what was inside. Mostly it was junk that had probably been something pretty nice at one point but all that was really left was a pretty green translucent apple with a cool symbol on the it.

This is one of the worst Apples of Idunn, (only considered that by Idunn herself) the apples of Idunn are said to give the Norse Gods their youth, this however is one is from of her particularly bad batches.

I had a lot of trouble writing this one. It took me way too long just because of the amount of shit I had to get through. I got writer's block a few times while writing this just because it felt too game heavy and it still kinda does but it is what it is. Initially chapter 2 and chapter 3 were meant to be one chapter but it felt like too much for one whole chapter. At this point in the writing process i've tried doing big chapters from the start before and while they do make a much more enjoyable read in my opinion it's too hard to not get burnt out when doing like 10k a chapter each chapter, so some like this will probably be longer than normal but i think a healthy medium for me to write is in between 2-8k words. PS Yes i did have him fight draugrs from god of war because I was playing a lot of GOWR at the time lmao. And also I haven't read Magnus chase yet so I have like 0 idea on how the gods and stuff act from that series. All I know is Thor watches Netflix on Mjölnir so I'm probably gonna ignore the Norse gods until I read the series.
PPS Also i have had this chapter done for like a year and just had so much writer's block with the next chapter i literally didn't know where to go with it but like here we are picking it up again. Looking back there were so many mistakes I made with this chapter that I'm kinda glad I waited a year to post it because if I hadn't it would have had a fair few plot holes and random bs. Originally i was gonna give percy the leviathan axe which maybe i will in the future but looking back on it i would have just fallen into the same trap many writers do when making fics like this overpowering their main characters too early, dont get me wrong im still gonna do all that shit but i got a rough outline on what i want to do with it you dig? :) hope y'all enjoyed
