Chapter 12: Telling the Fentons

At Ms. Jones' lab, Andy, Liv and Mike were trying to convince her to let Jack and Maddie Fenton into their secret. "What do you say, Ms. Jones?" Liv asked with a pleading expression.

"Well, since they reacted so well to their son being half-ghost, I believe it's okay, kids." Ms. Jones replied with a smile. "Now it's just a matter of calling them."

Next Saturday, Jack Fenton was driving towards Ms. Jones' home in New York. "Dad, couldn't we have just flown?" Jazz asked.

"Jazzy, we wouldn't be allowed to bring our weapons at the plane." Jack explained.

"Weapons or no weapons, I'd feel safer flying on a plane or being carried by my little brother." Jazz commented.

"My way is faster." Jack boasted.

"But not safer." Jazz, Maddie and Danny replied.

They eventually arrived at Ms. Jones' home, where she offered the Fentons some snacks before showing a portal to her lab. "Look!" Jack excitedly said as he pointed at a gun. "It's a ghost freezer!"

"Exactly, Mr. Fenton." Ms. Jones replied, glad Jack was able to recognize the weapon. "But it only works on viscous ghosts and it must be adjusted to their level of viscosity."

"Tell me about it." Liv replied as she revealed her presence as well as Andy's and Mike's.

"Hi, Liv." Danny waved at his girlfriend.

"What're you doing here?" Jack asked in confusion.

Instead of speaking, the three of them produced their ectocaps and turned into their Ghost Force selves. "I didn't see that coming." Maddie commented upon recovering from the shock.

"Yeah." Jazz agreed with fake shock. "Who would imagine my little brother's girlfriend also hunts ghosts?"

"You already knew, didn't you?" Maddie asked while glaring at Jazz. "And so did you, right?" She added while changing her stare to Danny.

"Yes, Mom." Both Fenton siblings answered.

"We'll talk about it later." Maddie sternly stated.

"Meanwhile, how about the three of you become my sidekicks?" Jack asked the Ghost Force.

"I knew it." Krush muttered.

"Mr. Fenton, how do you expect it to work with you hunting ghosts back in Amity Park and the three of us here in New York?" Fury asked.

"I knew I was forgetting something." Jack commented in dismay.

"Danny, how do Tucker and Sam feel about no longer being the only ones in Amity Park other than you and Jazz to know our secrets?" Fury asked.

"They know?" Jack asked in bigger shock.

"We trust them." Myst replied. "They kept Danny's secret for as long as they did."

"Aren't you afraid Tucker just wants a ghost's invisibility?" Maddie asked them.

"Yeah but that's not a concern since we don't have that in the first place, Mrs. Fenton." Liv answered.

"Thank God." Jazz replied.

Jack and Maddie then noticed Glups. "Ghost!" The two of them screamed and drew their weapons.

"Wait!" Danny, Ms. Jones, and the Ghost Force placed themselves between Jack and Maddie and Glups. "Glups is a tame ghost." Myst pleaded.

"Okay." Jack reluctantly said.

"Wait a minute." Krush asked. "Where were you keeping your weapons?"

Jack and Maddie hesitated until Jack spoke. "I'd rather not say."

"In that case, I'd rather not know anyway." Fury commented.

"Good call, Fury." Maddie said.

"Do you perform experiments on it?" Jack asked Ms. Jones.

"On 'him' and yes, I do perform some experiments but nothing too invasive." She answered.

"May we take a look at that robot that sometimes helps Ghost Force?" Maddie asked, wanting to change the uncomfortable subject.

"All of you can meet Glowboo when he finishes recharging his batteries." Ms. Jones replied and then showed where the ghosts captured by Ghost Force were kept. "We call it "Ectocloud"."

"Awesome!" Jack exclaimed. "Do you perform experiments on them?"

"I only have Ghost Force use them on training sessions." Ms. Jones answered.

"Why don't you send them back to the Ghost Zone?" Maddie asked. Meanwhile, Myst, Fury and Krush decided to change back into their civilian selves.

"Not only we don't have a portal to send them there, I'd be afraid they'd return." Ms. Jones answered.

"She's got a point." Danny whispered to Liv.

"Well, if you ever decide your Ectocloud needs more space, we can transport some of these ghosts to Amity Park where we can use our Ghost Portal to send them to the Ghost Zone." Jack offered.

"Thank you, Mr. Fenton." Ms. Jones replied.

"Batteries recharged." They suddenly heard Glowboo say. He then noticed the Fentons. "Hello. I am Glowboo. Beep boop bop."

"What was that?" Jazz asked.

"Oh, my." Ms. Jones exclaimed. "I guess the last battle harmed him more than I expected. And I have yet to figure out his programming glitches."

"Tucker could help with that." Danny suggested.

"That boy who's too attached to his PDA?" Andy disdainfully asked. "No way."

"Trust me, Andy." Danny replied. "He's as good with technology as he thinks he is with girls."

"Alright, if he's willing to come, I'll let him help but I'm keeping an eye at him." Ms. Jones insisted.

"I'll go talk to him." Danny replied.

After the Fentons returned to Amity Park, Danny and Jazz went to Sam's mansion to tell her and Tucker the news. "Working on Glowboo?" Tucker excitedly asked. "Awesome! When do I leave?"

"I'm going as well." Sam declared. "I want to see if Ms. Jones will make me a Ghost Force member."

"Without an ectocap recharge station in Amity Park, only if you move to New York, Sam." Danny commented.

"Is there a place available next to the twin cheerleaders' home?" Tucker asked with a smile.

"No wonder Ms. Jones is reluctant to trust you, Tucker." Sam commented.

Danny decided to stop the arguing before it escalated. "Tucker, about your question, once you have a day where you are free to go, I'll call Ms. Jones to set the details."

"Alright, Danny." Tucker replied.

"Now that's settled, how about we watch a horror movie?" Sam asked.

"Do you have anything about Monster High?" Danny asked.

"The only thing horrifying about that franchise is the idea of monster girls being too similar to valley girls and cheerleaders." Sam frowned. "I have the new Terminatra movie."

"Alright but I hope the film redeems her for how the Trinity of Doom made her seem weak in comparison to Femalien." Tucker replied.

"You and me both, Tucker." Sam agreed.

Danny then felt his ghost sense. "Beware." The Box Ghost said. "I am the Box Ghost, master of all things cardboard and square."

"Go away, Crate Creep!" Jazz ordered while pointing a weapon at the Box Ghost.

"It's Box Ghost." The Box Ghost corrected Jazz.

"I think my idea's better." Jazz insisted.

"That makes one of us." The Box Ghost commented.

"True." Danny, Sam and Tucker agreed.

"But anyway, aren't you tired of losing?" Danny asked the Box Ghost.

"I won't lose." The Box Ghost replied. "Not with your sister here to help me like she did during the first time she called me 'Crate Creep'."

Furious at that remark, Jazz sucked the Box Ghost into a Fenton Thermos. "She definitely improved since then." Tucker commented.

Tucker's PDA then PINGed. "Guys, there's a ghost attacking Casper High!" He exclaimed.

Danny flew to Casper High, only to find Ember blasting it. "Ember."

"That's my name, dipstick." Ember replied. "Remember it."

"I'm not sure." Danny teasingly commented. "Is it "Ember McLain" or "Ember McLame"?"

A rope then winded itself around Danny and he couldn't phase himself out of it. "I didn't like what you said to my girlfriend, whelp." Skulker said.

Surprised at what Skulker said, Danny looked at Ember, hoping she'd deny it. "Really?" He asked once it became clear she wouldn't deny it.

"True, dipstick, I could do better but at least he isn't a two-timer like Johnny 13 or a fruitloop like Plasmius." Ember commented.

"No arguing there." Danny agreed.

To make matters worse, Vlad Plasmius showed up. "Congratulations." The fruitloop said. "Now I can use him as bait to lure Jack Fenton to a trap and kill him."

"But I still want to put the whelp's pelt on my wall." Skulker protested.

"Ewwwwwww." Danny replied.

"No ghost will mount the pelt of the son of Jack Fenton in a wall." Jack protested as he joined the battle and punched Vlad with Ghost Gauntlets.

Maddie then approached Danny and untied him. "Danny, you go after the armored ghost and I fight the tone-deaf singer." She instructed him.

"Who did you call "tone-deaf"?" Ember asked in protest.

"You!" Maddie eagerly answered and charged after Ember with a bo staff.

"A fight between you and me?" Skulker asked with a smile. "I like it, whelp."

While Danny and Skulker were fighting each other, Maddie intentionally placed herself near Plasmius so the fruitloop would be hit by Ember's beams. The distraction enabled Jack to suck Vlad into a Fenton Thermos. Jack and Maddie then teamed up against Ember and sucked her into Maddie's Fenton Thermos.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Skulker screamed in frustration. Danny took advantage of that distraction to rip the head of Skulker's armor, making it easy to suck Skulker's tiny body into his Fenton Thermos.

"Good work, sidekick!" Jack congratulated Danny, who didn't mind being called a sidekick after how much his parents helped during the battle and the fact they were the ones to capture Vlad.

"Thanks, Dad." Danny replied.

Tucker, Sam and Jazz arrived soon after the three villains were captured. "Are we late?" Sam asked.

"Great news, guys!" Danny exclaimed. "My parents caught Plasmius!"

"Awesome!" Tucker exclaimed.

"And guess what." Danny said. "Ember is Skulker's girlfriend."

"Skulker has a girlfriend?" Sam asked in disbelief.

"Like Ember said, at least he's not a two-timer like Johnny 13 or a fruitloop like Plasmius." Danny commented and his friends nodded. Having been given a list of Danny's ghostly enemies, Jack and Maddie already knew about Johnny.

"So, what'll happen to Plasmius?" Tucker asked.

"I'll split his human and ghost halves." Jack answered. "The human half will be tried for his crimes while the ghostly one will be sent to the Guys in White for experiments. Hopefully painful ones."

The day after the Plasmius issue was solved, Danny took Tucker to New York so the latter could help Ms. Jones. "Wow! Whoever programmed Glowboo must be a genius!" Tucker exclaimed. "But nothing I can't solve."

Ghost Force was observing it. "Mike, I never thought I'd say it about anyone but, Tucker loves gadgets even more than you do." Andy commented.

"Andy, you're exaggerating." Mike replied.

"I still can't believe Ms. Jones is being bested by someone who uses obsolete technology like a PDA." Liv commented.

"Don't listen to her, Cindy." Tucker told his PDA. "She didn't mean to offend."

"I stand corrected, Andy." Mike commented. "Tucker does love gadgets more than I do. Way more."

"For as long as he does his job, I don't care." Ms. Jones said.

As time passed, Glowboo became so good there were occasions Ghost Force didn't need Danny's help to capture ghosts before they went into booster mode.
