All of TrollsTopia was getting set for a fabulous game of Glitterball. And at the moment, Val and Poppy were team captains, and they were picking their teams out.

It was currently Poppy's turn, "Okay, for my Glitterball team, my third first pick will be…" she eyed on who she wanted to pick, "Dante!"

Dante smiled and bowed at the cheering Trolls while flying over to Poppy's side.

"Ooh, I can't wait to play! It'll give me a great chance to practice using my telekinesis to move the balls around," Aggie commented eagerly while using her telekinesis to lift a nearby rock, where a roly-poly bug was sunbathing under it and commented while snapping its fingers, "Eh, do you mind?"

"Oops, sorry," Aggie sheepishly replied before she placed the rock back down.

The rock got dropped back onto it, where the bug underneath commented, "Thank you."

Just then, Val was set to pick her next teammate, saying, "And my fourth first pick will be…," before pointing to something she noticed in the distance, saying, "The mysterious figure in the shadows."

That made the crowd confused before suddenly, they heard the sounds of a saxophone playing, which caused them to turn their heads and notice that in the shade of a nearby mushroom, someone was playing saxophone while standing on top of a white tiger with light blue stripes, black paws, pink-and-magenta striped hair that was slicked back, a small tuft of fur on its chin that matched its hair color, and it wore black sunglasses over its eyes.

When the figure finished playing the little "solo," he turned his head and smiled at the crowd, making them all gasp as they knew who it was.

Poppy, the first to recognize him, said, "Chaz? The Smooth Jazz Troll?"

"The one and only," Chaz replied while jumping off his tiger, approaching the Trolls while saying, "Jazzed to see you all again."

"Oh, no," Aggie commented, folding her arms, unhappy to see Chaz. "Not him."

Val, however, looked visibly confused when she saw Chaz, asking while arching her eyebrow in confusion, "Uh, a Smooth Jazz Troll? Can someone tell me what's going on?"

Biggie quickly tapped his nose with his finger, saying, "Ooh! I call recapsies," which made some of the other Trolls groan in disappointment they didn't call it first.

Biggie then began to reiterate the history regarding Chaz, "Chaz the Smooth Jazz Troll is the bounty hunter that hypnotized Branch, Poppy, and me with his magical saxophone. Only to be fended off by our friend Hickory, who was actually 2 Yodeling Trolls in a Country Western disguise. And then, we all made up and partied together in Volcano Rock City. All clear now?"

Val still appeared confused before she said, while making the "ok" sign with her fingers, "Crystal."

Poppy then spoke up, greeting Chaz, "So great to see you again, Chaz! What brings you to TrollsTopia?"

Chaz replied, "Oh, nothing, really. Just the thought of utter loneliness," before frowning, appearing sad, which made the crowd feel bad for him.

Chaz then started to explain, "Allow me to jazz-splain. I am the only Smooth Jazz Troll there is. With no place to call my home."

"Awww," Poppy commented, feeling bad for the Smooth Jazz Troll.

Chaz then pointed out, "But then, while you were staying over at Harmonious Land for a month, I remembered that there was a special city where every Troll finds a place. And its name was…TrollsTopia. So, I figured I'd come here to maybe find a place of my own."

"Well, that's exactly the kind of place TrollsTopia is," Poppy replied before she opened her arms up, saying, "Welcome, Chaz!"

But before she could lead a group hug, Val got in front of the Pop Queen, saying, "Woah, woah, woah. Look, as a Hard Rock Troll, I naturally question things, okay? Rules, conventions, and especially saxophone-wielding strangers with an eerie amount of chest hair."

To prove her point, Val pointed behind herself, where Chaz was using two black combs to fluff up his heart-shaped chest hair

Meanwhile, Val then told Poppy, "You can't just welcome him in; he tried to hypnotize you."

"Yeah, but just the one time," Biggie pointed out while Chaz gave a sheepish smile and shrug to Val.

Val then turned around, hearing Poppy point out, "Besides, Val, we should strive to welcome everyone, regardless of their past. I mean, Queen Barb tried to steal all the tribes' strings, and now, she's like my bestie times infinity plus one."

Val seemed convinced, saying at first, "Yeah, that's true," before she gave a rock-solid glare to Chaz, saying, "But no."

Chaz gasped, feeling a little frightened by Val's glare.

"I agree with Val here," Aggie stepped in besides Val, "He also tried to hypnotize me while looking for the music in Smooth Jazz. Fortunately for me, Magic Musical Trolls are impervious to hypnosis. He almost got away with it," she looked back at Chaz, who clicked his tongue, smirked, and pointed a finger gun at her as if flirting. Aggie was clearly disgusted with him.

Poppy understood Chaz and Aggie's grudge against one other, but because this is TrollsTopia, it was all about different Trolls getting along, including these two. "I know you and Chaz don't get along, but this is what TrollsTopia is all about, Aggie. Trolls have to get along, despite of their differences, histories, or unusual relationships," she chuckled at the conclusion.

Aggie nearly gagged up when the Pop Queen referred to her and Chaz as an "ex-couple" for various reasons, saying, "Well, I don't want to be a part of welcoming him. "I'll be over there, far away, where I won't see him." Aggie decided to walk as far away from the other Trolls as possible in order to avoid Chaz.

"And I'm watching you, jazz boy," and Val gave an intimidating Rock face while walking back into the crowd of Trolls, only appearing behind Poppy once more to do the facial expression before disappearing.

Everyone around chuckled sheepishly, hoping that didn't put any dampers to the "welcoming reception."

Just then, in the crowd, Keith came out, saying in complete disinterest, "Okay, I'm just gonna say it, I am not cool with the jazz. It is SOOOOOOOO boring."

"Keith," Poppy shouted, worried Chaz would take offense to it.

Luckily for her, Chaz wasn't offended at all, "No offense taken, Queen Poppy. It's widely known that Smooth Jazz has no effect on children. To them, it's like shopping with their mom and dad…for pants."

Keith, as natural as any kid would react to that idea, shouted, "Pants shopping," he ran off, disappearing into the crowd, who all chuckled sheepishly again.

Suddenly, Poppy felt someone pull her to the side, away from the crowd. To her surprise, it was Branch, making her ask, "Branch? What's wrong?"

Branch was ready to be blunt, saying, "Poppy, I know this is something you don't want to hear, but this is something that I feel like I need a say in, this is a bad idea! And this isn't like the time I was being sarcastic about the idea of TrollsTopia working to hide that I thought that it was really great idea; this is serious! We can't let Chaz stay here! Yes, he is a bounty hunter and a part of the community, but we can't let him stay here! Like Val said, he tried to hypnotize us; he might do it again, like Aggie said; don't tell me you don't remember that experience well."

Poppy had a straight face as she replied to her fiancée, "Branch, I do remember that day, and I do remember when he hypnotized us. It was awkward and terrifying. But as I said, TrollsTopia is a place where we welcome all kinds of Trolls, regardless of their past. I mean, we welcomed Sid even after finding out about the Flexi-Trolls, right?"

Branch felt hesitant to reply, knowing Poppy made a good point, "Yeah..."

"Plus, you're a king now, and as king, it's your responsibility to look out for the well-being of others, even welcoming people that have a checkered past. Who knows? Our time we spent in Harmonious Land could've given Chaz a chance to be more open and want to learn about the other cultures, and isn't that a good way to promote harmony?"

"Yes..." Branch reluctantly admitted, knowing Poppy made a good point.

"So, I'm not saying you have to trust him since Val and Aggie already made it clear they don't, and I don't want to force you to trust him, but I do want you to be at least just open about Chaz being here. Who knows? He could surprise us."

Branch bit his bottom lip, saying, "Poppy, as much as I do want to do this for you, I can't just ignore my own feelings about this; I still think this is a bad idea. And if he tried to hypnotize you or anyone else again…"

Branch took a minute to catch his breath, "Just…be careful about this. Unless Chaz shows some sign that he really has changed, I'm not trusting him being around here one bit," before walking away.

Poppy figured her fiancée would react like this, and despite all the hugs and kisses she could give him, she knew that she couldn't change Branch's mind, but a part of her did still hope that maybe if Chaz showed some positive signs that he wasn't like how he was back during the World Tour, that maybe it could just be enough to help Branch ease up a bit. Truth was, she did still remember when she got hypnotized, and deep down, it did still scare her a bit, but as she likes to say, "What happened before is under the bridge, and it's good to start anew."

With that in mind, after Branch left, she went back to the crowd, saying, "Sorry, was just talking with someone. Now, where was I? Oh, yeah! Welcome, Chaz," she and a group of Trolls gathered around and gave Chaz a "welcome to TrollsTopia" group hug.

Chaz felt happy tears build up, commenting in eternal bliss, "At last, a home."

As Aggie watched Chaz surrounded by hugging Trolls, she was still disgusted by him and hated his guts and chest hair. She would agree with Val this time, but she will also keep an eye on him in case he does something severe.

Melody, Rhythm, and Blues approached Aggie as they watched Chaz hugging other Trolls. They knew how Aggie felt about the prospect of introducing Chaz to TrollsTopia.

"Uh, Aggie, are you okay?" Melody asked concerningly about her acquaintance.

Aggie puffed, frustrated, "No!" This is such a poor idea! I don't want Chaz to be here! He's the worst, and I am confident he will hypnotize you, Normal Trolls. I might be the only one who won't."

"I know it would be a significant cost for you, but we must welcome him in. TrollsTopia has no limit on who's welcome and who's not, Aggie," Blues noted.

Aggie sighed. "Maybe you're right. It's like I'm like my own tribe who some of them hated Normal Trolls like you guys," She said, fatigued from nursing a grudge, "Okay, maybe I…" But then she glimpsed something in the corner of her eye. She turned around to find a Troll with pink and magenta hair seated on a rock. "Hey, who's that?"

The other three Trolls looked to see what Aggie was pointing at. They noticed the Troll, but she was unfamiliar to Melody, Rhythm, and Blues.

"Huh, I'd never seen her before," Rhythm said.

"Do you think she's new?" Blues asked.

"Maybe we could just go over there and say hi," Melody suggested.

"Yeah…," Aggie nodded while glaring at Chaz and pointing her finger at him, "Better than being near with him."

Melody, Rhythm, and Blues smirked at one another, thinking it was ridiculous that Aggie was obsessed with hating Chaz. The four approached the lone Troll, who was sniffing a flower she had picked and wanted to greet her.

"Hi there," Blues called out initially, but the Troll didn't react as she continued to smell the flower. "Umm, hi," the yellow Funk Troll called again, but the other Troll didn't respond.

Melody then decided to give it a try. "Uhh, excuse us, but we're here to say hi to you," Similarly to Blues, the Troll didn't respond to Melody's greeting, "Hello." Melody attempted to get the Troll's attention, but to no avail, "Gosh, this one over here doesn't react to anything we say."

"Hey! Hey, you!" Aggie cried out beside the Troll's ear before clapping her hands.

Rhythm explained why the Troll didn't reply to the Trolls' calls, stating sadly, "Guys, I… I think she's deaf."

Blues, Melody, and Aggie gasped in shock as they felt so sorry for this little Troll.

"Oh, that's terrible! Then, how will we grab her attention?" Aggie inquired.

"Maybe she can still see," Rhythm tried another technique to interact with the Troll by poking its hair, which startled her slightly. Rhythm had the opportunity to calm her down and interact with her by utilizing her hands and fingers. The Troll replied to her with the same motion, "Yep, she's deaf but not blind."

The other three Trolls exhaled with relief. At least the Troll was capable of communicating.

"Aww, that's a relief." Aggie chuckled, feeling silly and guilty over condemning the Troll's disability. "Okay, I might be a Master of All Music, but I don't know sign language. "R, could you help me?"

Rhythm nodded, indicating with her hands, "We're sorry that we didn't know that you were deaf."

"That's okay. I was going to meet my father," the Troll responded in sign language.

Rhythm was able to translate for her, "She said it was fine, and she was going to see her father anyway."

"Oh, she has her father here? Where?" Melody asked.

Rhythm translated Melody's question for the Troll. The small Troll didn't answer. Instead, she set off to find her father. The remaining four Trolls chose to follow her.

After breaking free from the hug, Chaz pulled out two brown luggage and looked around, wondering, "Now, which way to the Smooth Jazz Neighborhood?"

Poppy became perplexed, wondering, "The what?"

"You know, the famous TrollsTopia neighborhoods that reflect each Troll's unique culture," Chaz quickly clarified with hope.

It was then that Poppy realized that in spawn of her creating TrollsTopia, she never came up with the idea of neighborhoods for the sub-genres since they weren't around as often. That racked her with a wave of nervous guilt, which she admitted honestly, "Oh, right, the Smooth Jazz Neighborhood, Yeah…, um"

Just then, the Troll that Aggie, Melody, Rhythm, and Blues had encountered broke through the crowd and raced to Chaz, hugging him tightly.

When Aggie, Melody, Rhythm, and Blues joined the crowd, exhausted from following the Troll, they noticed how she hugged Chaz warmly.

The Trolls were initially confused as to what was going on, but Aggie quickly worked it out. The hugging, the smiling, the affection… for Chaz?

"Wait, Chaz… is your dad?!" Aggie exclaimed, and the other Trolls gasped.

"Wait? Chaz, you have a daughter? Poppy asked a shocking question.

"Yes, this is Sophie," Chaz said to the other Trolls, introducing his daughter.

"Umm, since when have you got a daughter? Didn't you just say that you're the only Smooth Jazz Troll?" Branch recalled Chaz's explanation from earlier.

"And we never seen you with your daughter," Biggie recapped that Chaz was alone that night when he hypnotized him, Poppy and Branch.

Chaz sighed softly and patted Sophie's head. Fortunately for him, Sophie couldn't hear what Chaz said, so she didn't have to hear this terrible story, "You see, Sophie was never actually my daughter. I found her as an egg and cared for her. I even raised her as my own. However, when she grew older, I learned that she is deaf. She's deaf, and I feel sad for her. That's why I took on the Bounty Hunting job for her. And I didn't bring her because it would be safer for her to be away from me for a while.
Chaz's story about Sophie moved and saddened the other Trolls, including Holly, who nearly burst into tears.

"That was… so beautiful, ya'll," She whimpered and wiped a tear.

Despite the touching story, Branch and Aggie were dissatisfied with Branch saying, "You mean, you didn't want to bring her to your job because you didn't want her to see you doing bad?"

"No! Not at all! I was only doing what was best for her. And here in TrollsTopia, it's the perfect place for my little Sophie and me to live peacefully." Chaz hugged Sophie more closely, causing the other Trolls to coo in happiness. Chaz broke Sophie's hug and asked Poppy, "Now, where is the Smooth Jazz neighborhood we need to live in?".

"Uh, yeah, about that," Now back to the real issue, Poppy chuckled uneasily as she remembered she didn't make another section for Smooth Jazz Trolls because it was never included in her plan, "We don't have a Smooth Jazz Neighborhood."

When Poppy told Chaz the news, he let out a somber "Oh," glancing down at Sophie.

Poppy, worried that she had offended the Bounty hunter, quickly tried to apologize, saying to him, "I'm so sorry. We just didn't think-"

But Chaz cut her off, saying to Poppy, "No, it's my fault, Poppy. I should have known the dream of TrollsTopia was too good to be true, even for my little Sophie" Adding into how upset Chaz seemed to be feeling, he then said while pointing to a jagged pointy rock, "Maybe I can make this area the Jazz neighborhood; this can be my bed."

He climbed onto the rock and tried to lay on it, but its point was going right into Chaz's back, which caused some uncomfortable pain, which became noticeable as Chaz wheezed out while racking in agony, "At last, a home," He then pointed to the side of the rock and told her in sign language, "And this is your bed, Sophie."

Sophie looked to where her father pointed out. She sighed sadly, believing what Chaz had told her as she perched on the edge of the rock.

Everyone gasped at how upsetting this looked, and for Poppy, her sympathetic heart just couldn't take it anymore. Not wanting this to last anymore, she faced the group of Trolls, telling them, "Okay, guys, we have to help Chaz and Sophie," An idea seemed to pop into her mind, making Poppy smile and state, "And I know just what to do."

A little while later, Poppy had blindfolded Chaz and Sophie, and was leading them towards a little location near the main city of TrollsTopia, saying to him, "A little farther… a little farther."

Once Chaz was in the right spot she wanted him to be, she told Chaz, "Listen, Chaz, it breaks our hearts that you and your daughter don't feel like you belong, so we've been working on a solution."

In an instant, she took off Chaz's blindfold and showed off what she and her friends had worked together to create. And boy, was Chaz surprised by what he was seeing firsthand!

Holly, Lownote, Synth, Rhythm, and begrudging Val and Aggie were all lined up in front of the entrance of what was the newly-minted home for Chaz the Smooth Jazz Troll and Sophie the (regular) Jazz Troll. The light blue bead curtain shimmered behind a red curtain archway and red carpet leading up to a special housing area with a massive keyboard sign that had a gold saxophone and trumpet with notes playing out of them.

As the bead curtain folded back, Poppy declared the name of this new locale, "The Smooth Jazz Grotto!"

Chaz was so amazed by how pretty the place looked, tears of happiness welling up in his eyes as he wandered at his new home, and Sophie seemed to be excited about her new home with her father.

Poppy approached him, asking him, "Want a tour?"

Before Chaz could say anything, he looked down to Sophie and gestured in sign language, "Want a tour?"

Sophie responded to a nod.

Poppy led the two into the interior of the place.

As Poppy took Chaz and Sophie inside, Dante was flying just above the entrance, greeting them as he stated, "Welcome to your new home."

Chaz looked around the area of Smooth Jazz Grotto, blown away by what he was seeing firsthand. There were statues of little Smooth Jazz Troll figurines playing the sax, a special comfy living room area with soft, colorful beds, yellow heart-patterned cushions, a fluffy white rug, and even a huge painted portrait of himself that sat in all its glory just above a roaring silver fireplace.

Dante first introduced the tour by showing Chaz the fireplace and saying to him, "First, to set the mood for the ultimate Smooth Jazz locale, one must have a roaring fire… on every wall." He then pointed up to all of Smooth Jazz Grotto's walls, which had plenty of fireplaces to spare, even on top of the ceiling near the colorful candlelit chandelier.

Chaz could feel the authenticity of Jazz excite him, making him grin and state with sheer joy in a smooth voice, "Fan-jazz-tic."

Smidge went next, showing Chaz the fluffy rug while explaining, "And a deep shag rug to lie on while you play sax."

She stepped onto the rug, adding, "The deepest shag we could find," before she could feel the run pull her into the deep depths below, making Smidge shout as she fell before landing at the bottom of who knows where? But she said, "I'm okay," letting them know that she was alright.

The next stop on the tour was a little room that Poppy had Holly made extra special for him, and Chaz was in for such a happy surprise when he saw what it was.

It was a little salon room with plenty of chairs, mirrors, and mounds of hair styling products fit for one of such interstellar hair care.

Chaz immediately sat in one of the chairs and spun while Holly explained, "Ayn' here we have ayy personal hair salon ta keep those luscious locks ov yours a-flowin'!"

When Chaz stopped spinning, he was seen happily holding a blow dryer and a flat iron, saying, "Yes! I never thought I could achieve such chest volume," before using the blow dryer on his chest hair before using the flat iron, making the chest hair seem straight within its heart shape.

Holly was a little taken aback and slightly weirded out by the sight if this, quickly trying to point out to Chaz, "Uh… sugar, we actually thought you'd use it on your-"

But Chaz didn't seem to be listening as he held up a bottle of conditioner, saying, "Now, the conditioner," before pouring some on his chest hair, lying back on the salon chair, and rubbing it into his chest hair with a satisfied chuckle.

Holly now felt less weirded out and more grossed out, biting her tongue while saying, "Never maand."

The trip culminated with a bedroom designed specifically for Sophie.

"And finally, we made a bedroom for Sophie," Poppy said, with Rhythm expressing her words in sign language.

Sophie looked to her father, waiting for his approval to let her see her new bedroom. Chaz nodded and smiled, allowing her to do anything she wanted. Sophie ran over to Poppy and Rhythm, where she could see her new bedroom behind the door.

The wall was a majestic purple with gold musical notes on it, a big fluff bed with red heart shaped pillows and a snow white comforter; the bedroom also had a blue wooden mirror and vanity with a few hair accessories laid on top by the mirror, a silver shag that was not as deep as the one in the living room, a red nightstand beside the bed with an orange and purple lava lamp, a black musical stand where Sophie could place sheet music to practice with, and a brown desk

Sophie was so enthusiastic that she squealed and jumped to her feet. She tried to indicate what she wanted to say, but her beautiful bedroom kept her sidetracked. The Trolls could tell that she adored the room.

After the tour was concluded, Poppy and the ambassadors were all facing Chaz, who happily told them, "Well, friends, you've shown me that the dream of TrollsTopia is real. Every Troll, even the one that is me and my daughter, has a place here."

"Aw," everyone replied, happy to see that they could help Chaz find his place with them in TrollsTopia.

Chaz, feeling very sincere, then stated, "Now, out of gratitude for all of this, there's a priceless gift I'd like to give."

"Oh," everyone eager commented in unison, wondering what Chaz wanted to give them.

Then, Chaz seemed to continue on with his sentence, adding, "To your ears," before pulling out his saxophone and playing a Smooth Jazz tune on it.

Poppy and the ambassadors figured that Chaz would want to grant them with a tune of Smooth Jazz, despite how… boring it sounded… but not wanting to appear rude, they all stayed and listened to Chaz's gratuitous tune of thankfulness.

However, the only Trolls who wasn't with them listening were Val and Aggie. Val was leaning up against the doorframe while Aggie was standing beside her, glaring at Chaz and keeping a close eye on him. Something in their gut wasn't sitting right, and they knew that it had to do with that Chaz fellow.

"Not fooling me, jazz boy," Val commented, still suspicious of what Chaz was up to.

"Not even me," Aggie narrowed her eyes, yet she remained concerned about Sophie. She appeared to be a nice and cheerful Troll, and she couldn't believe she'd been nurtured and stuck with a Troll like Chaz. She only hoped that nothing would go wrong.

Later on, Biggie came by, carrying a pot of fondue towards Smooth Jazz Grotto, shouting, hoping Chaz could hear him as he entered, "Chaz! It's Biggie! Mr. Dinkles and I brought you some housewarming fondue!"

However, he accidentally tripped on Chaz's luggage and not only spilled the fondue but his suitcases, littering the contents about.

Biggie saw what happened and what he had tripped over. He shouted while heading to the suitcase to clean up what he spilled, "Sorry! I tripped over your suitcase, but I'll clean it up!"

But while Biggie was cleaning up, he saw some papers in Chaz's suitcases, and out of curiosity, he picked them up and saw that they were drawings. But not of TrollsTopia, but of something called…Jazztopia? Where everyone seemed to look like a… Jazz Troll?

It was then that Biggie realized that these were no ordinary drawings; these were plans! Plans to take over TrollsTopia with his hypnotic saxophone to turn everyone into Smooth Jazz Trolls!

Becoming worried and a little frightened, Biggie shouted unable to stop speaking in such a loud voice, "Uh, I found what appears to be your evil plans for turning all of TrollsTopia into something called Jazztopia. Which I don't know I shouldn't be shouting out, but I can't seem to stop!"

Getting up, Biggie tried to hesitantly back away, shouting, "'Kay, I'm gonna run for my life now! Bye!"

But before he could turn and bolt out, he was blocked by one of Chaz's tigers. Startled, Biggie tried to run the other way, but another tiger blocked him, circling him in place, which left him unable to escape.

Even when he tried to run to an opening he saw, Chaz then came out from the shadows, blocking his way and telling Biggie, "Sorry, but I can't let you go. Not until you and every single Troll in Jazztopia is under the smooth control of sweet Lady Jazz."

With his saxophone handy, and a quick lick of the tip, he began to play a tune on the saxophone, emitting hypnotic waves that encaptured Biggie, lulling him under the spell of Smooth Jazz.

Outside in TrollsTopia, Branch, Aggie and Val were taking a little walk when something very odd caught her attention, making Val ask, "Uh… what is happening here?"

She saw that Trolls were all suddenly wearing hairy mustaches, had eerily glowing eyes, and were crowding by a giant mushroom where Mr. Dinkles was on top, wearing a flowing blonde wing, and blowing into a gold saxophone, playing some Smooth Jazz on it.

Holly, who also seemed to fall under the same spell, was using a black comb to gently comb the hairy mustache she now dawned.

Dante, who too was under the spell like everyone else, spouted some small, light pink, heart-shaped chest hair, stating, "And now the conditioner," before pulling out some conditioner and rubbing it into it.

Branch, Aggie and Val knew that only ONE Troll was responsible for this.

"Jazz boy!" Val said firmly, narrowing her eyes.

Even Branch and Aggie responded the same way as Val.

Over at Poppy's pod, Poppy was finishing up wrapping a gift with a nice ribbon bow when Val and Branch came running in.

"Poppy! You gotta see this!" Val shouted quickly.

However, the sight of the gift made Branch ask curiously, "Wait, Poppy, what's that?"

Poppy showed Val and Branch the gift box while explaining, "It's a grotto-warming gift for Chaz."

"What?" Val and Branch exclaimed in surprise before they shook their heads, trying to get Poppy to see what was going on,

"Poppy, forget that! Chaz is hypnotizing the entire village!" Val explained.

"It's true, Poppy. I knew he would do this again," Branch dragged Poppy near the window, and made her look outside, "Look!"

Poppy looked out the window and saw all of TrollsTopia, with hairy mustaches and hypnotic glowing eyes, chanting smoothly, "Jazz, jazz, jazz, jazz."

The sight of this was very concerning, and Poppy then saw that something had to be done. Taking Val's word very closely, she told the Rock ambassador, "Oh; well, gee, Val, Branch, based on what you're saying, we've gotta go find Chaz right now."

Meanwhile, as Branch and Val warned Poppy, Aggie was looking for Sophie, hoping she wasn't with her father or helping him in his evil plans.

Outside of TrollsTopia, on a hill, Aggie noticed Sophie rehearsing jazz music with her clarinet It was a lovely and melodious music. It wasn't Smooth Jazz. It's just jazz. It didn't sound very hypnotic at all. As the Master of All Music, she knew the difference between Jazz and Smooth Jazz. Aggie slowly approached Sophie and sat next to her.

Sophie noticed Aggie right next to her and stopped playing her clarinet in out of surprise.

"Hi, Sophie. How are you? Is it your clarinet? Your music is so beautiful," Aggie replied, but Sophie was bewildered since she couldn't hear what she was saying. She could see her lips move but couldn't hear what she said.

Sophie used sign language to ask Aggie, "What did you just say? I just couldn't hear you."

Aggie struggled to comprehend Sophie's gesture, "Umm, I don't understand what you were saying, but..." She suddenly forgot Sophie was deaf, which meant she couldn't hear what she just said. "Oh, right, you can't hear," It was difficult to connect with deaf Trolls because she had never attempted sign language before. How can she communicate with Sophie now? Aggie suddenly got an idea, "Oh!" She pulled out a pen and paper and began writing her words. She simply hoped Sophie could read. Aggie held out the paper that read, "Have you seen your father anywhere?"

Fortunately, Sophie could read! She understood Aggie's words now. Sophie still responded in sign language, saying, "No, I haven't seen him. I went out alone for privacy."

Aggie still was unable to understand her hand gestures, but she wanted to guess. "I can tell that he's still in the grotto." Aggie flipped the paper to a new blank page and scribbled what she wanted to say to Sophie. She held up the paper and stated, "Listen, Trolls are being hypnotized by Smooth Jazz music. Have you noticed that?"

Sophie looked down and was astonished by what she saw. She noticed that Smooth Jazz music was hypnotizing everyone in TrollsTopia. She couldn't hear, but she could see and guess what Trolls would look like if hypnotized. Sophie pouted, unable to accept her father had done this. She made gestures and said, "No, it can't be my father. He could never do it. Not anymore."

Aggie, despite not understanding sign language, could sense emotions and facial expressions. She noticed Sophie's sad expression and observed, "Okay, from the sad look on your face, I can tell you don't believe your father had done this, but…" She wrote on the page for Sophie, "I know you adore your father, and he raised you. He is the only one you have now, but it won't be so bad if we check on him to see if he's responsible or not…"

Aggie set the paper down and extended a hand to Sophie.

Sophie stared at Aggie, hesitant to trust her about Chaz, but Sophie needed to know the truth, hoping to establish that her father didn't do this. She took Aggie's hand, agreeing to come with her.

But at Chaz's house, Poppy then added, saying to her friend and fiancé, "So he can explain that this is all just a big misunderstanding!"

Val and Branch couldn't believe it to see that Poppy didn't notice that this was CLEARLY Chaz's doing and thought that this was all just a big misunderstanding, especially with the guilty Troll standing right beside Poppy, acting like nothing even happened!

Val shouted at Poppy, trying to get her to see, "What?! No, Poppy! He's evil!"

"Yeah, Poppy, didn't you see? He's still the same Chaz we know, the one who hypnotized us. And he was doing it again!" Branch added defensively.

Poppy scoffed slightly before she faced Chaz, asking him, "Chaz, would you please tell Val and Branch you don't have a secret plan to turn us into Smooth Jazz Trolls?"

"Of course," Chaz first answered genuinely, acting like he would, before he gained a malicious grin, retorting with, "Except that's exactly what I'm doing."

"See," Poppy told Val and Branch at first before she heard what Chaz had said and, confused and startled, asked, "Wait, what?"

Branch and Val, however, now had all the confirmation at hand, knowing Chaz truly was gonna take over TrollsTopia, shouting, "I knew it!"

Wanting to stop him, Val shouted and made a hefty lunge at Chaz, set to tackle him hard or grab his saxophone. But Chaz was prepared, playing a Smooth Jazz tune on his saxophone that made Val stop cold and stagger into a hypnotic state.

Branch gasped as he was about to charge at Chaz, but the Smooth Jazz Troll also put Branch under hypnosis, especially when he began to sing.

Chaz: (saxophone music) You can't resist it
(saxophone music) So don't you try
(saxophone music) The velvet smooth infectious groove
Pllaying all through the night

The beat of the Smooth Jazz tune was too strong, and Poppy, Branch and Val all soon under the hypnotic spell of Smooth Jazz.

Chaz: A swinging beat
It moves your feet
You can't be mad!
The luscious tones invade your bones!
You can't stop jazz!

Succumbed to the stronghold hypnotic trance of Smooth Jazz, Poppy, Val, and Branch were left now completely defenseless. All three sprouted matching jazz mustaches, and Poppy's gift for Chaz slipped right out of her grip.

Seeing that success was now imminent in his plan for a complete takeover, Chaz cackled, floating over to the three hypnotized Trolls while stating, first towards Val and Branch, "Finally, two of the only Trolls that suspected me. And you," before he stated to Poppy, "You never saw it coming. You should've listened to your boy-toy and your Rock bestie when you had the chance."

Ready to cement his official victory, Chaz cackled and prepared to blow another note on his saxophone.

"Chaz!" However, an off-screen voice interrupted the silence. It was revealed as Aggie, "I should've known you never change! I should've known you were planning something evil like this."

"Oh, Aggie, I forgot that you're immune; yet, you are the only Troll here who can stop me. You can't, because no one is here to help you," Chaz grinned evilly, meeting his match.

"You have gone too far. I assumed you'd changed for your daughter, but you're still the same Smooth Jazz Troll I've never trusted. Sophie is not going to like this."

"Don't bring Sophie into this!" Chaz yelled as he heard his daughter's name, shocking Aggie that he had lost his cool. "You're not aware that I'm doing this not just for myself, but also for her. She has no biological parents. She doesn't have any family or friends who share the same music as hers. Only me, but very different. Our music are still different. I don't want Sophie to be alone, especially since she can't hear. She had no idea our music was so different. I want her to feel that she isn't always alone. I want her to feel like she is wanted. I want her to believe that there are Trolls who can be with her for herself, and changing TrollsTopia into Jazztopia is the only way I can make her feel at home with me. I don't want her to know I did this. I won't let you tell her, because she can't hear and you don't know sign language. But the most important thing is that she doesn't need to know.

"Too late!" Another voice screamed out, showing that it was Rhythm, who had been liberated from her hypnotic state and was with a heartbroken Sophie. "She already know!"

Chaz was taken aback when he saw one of the Trolls was no longer captivated by his hypnotism. "How did you-?"

"Aggie and Sophie had already freed me before we arrived. Aggie needed a translator because I was the other Troll who understood sign language. I even translated what you just told Aggie for her." Rhythm then pointed to Sophie directly beside her, saying, "And look at her now."

So there it was. Sophie finally understood the truth. Her father's true colors. She felt hurt, saddened, and betrayed. She simply hoped she hadn't found out about her father's intentions, but she knew the whole truth. She felt her heart break after discovering that her father, the only Troll she loved, was evil.

Chaz felt guilty that Sophie had to find out about his true intentions in TrollsTopia. He didn't have the words or knowledge to explain to his little girl. He used sign language to communicate with her, saying, "Sophie, sweetie, I…"

Sophie argued silently with hand gestures, saying, "How could you, Dad?! How could you do this to me! I don't want you to force anyone to become Jazz Trolls! I don't want that!"

Chaz cried and gestured, "But...I..."

Aggie interrupted with an irritable growl, "Enough of the sign language family drama. Let's end this Jazz!"

"You can't stop my hypnotism! Even with your magic, you can't free everyone in TrollsTopia from my spell!" Chaz yelled, grasping his saxophone.

"Maybe I can't, but there is one way to settle this!" Aggie removed her baritone saxophone from her hair.

"A Jazz Off?! Bring it on," Chaz smirked sinisterly, relishing the competition.

Chaz set the Jazz off. He played his soprano saxophone sweetly and seductively, as is his usual style of music. Fortunately, Aggie's immunological brain allowed her to play Jazz music, beginning with snapping her fingers for beats and then playing her Baritone saxophone. Her jazz was energetic and lively.

Aggie's jazz music was loud and exciting, but nothing compared to Chaz's Smooth Jazz, which reached high notes with languid tempos like a calming ocean wave. But Aggie couldn't let it stop her because her music was like a ballroom with a lot of Trolls dancing together on the dance floor of a restaurant or café.

The Jazz Off became intense when both types of Jazz were playing at the same time, aiming to be as loud as possible. Rhythm attempted to cover her ears, hoping to protect them from the clashing of the Jazz.

Chaz's music created more soundwaves as it became louder and more melodious. Aggie noticed Chaz almost outperformed her with his music as she played harder on her saxophone, adding a dancing element to the sounds of each note. Chaz could feel Aggie's Jazz become stronger, as if she were sending out a powerful shockwave. He played his saxophone harder, releasing pink hypnotic waves that pushed Aggie back, but she attempted to resist. Even Rhythm and Sophie felt the powerful wave as they attempted to keep on their feet.

"Ugh, his music is too strong!" Rhythm yelled, attempting to force her way through the wave.

When Sophie couldn't bear to let his father win this Jazz off, she had to take this matter into her own hands. This went far enough. Sophie struggled hard through the wave until she stood behind Aggie, who was still attempting to remain steady on her hoof and feet.

Aggie observed Sophie by her side as she took out her clarinet in front of her.

Chaz's music stopped when he noticed his daughter stepping forward, ready to fend off Aggie and stop him.

"Sophie, what are you doing?!" Chaz asked in betrayal while using sign language.

Sophie responded with hand gestures, "I'm sorry, Dad. But you must stop. I won't let you do this!"

When the Normal Jazz Troll was ready, Aggie played her saxophone and Sophie played her clarinet, resulting in melodious, harmonious, and lively jazz music and a blue strong shockwave. Chaz nearly lost his balance when he couldn't handle the powerful shockwave from Aggie and Sophie and lost his grasp on his saxophone, causing it to fly into the air.

The gift box that Poppy brought shook, with a pair of arms and legs breaking out of the wrapping, before a head popped out, revealing to be none other than Keith, who declared, "Got it!" He successfully grabbed Chaz's saxophone right out of his hands with a playful laugh. "Sorry, Mr. Snooze Jazz, but Poppy smuggled me in here, for this!"

Determined to stop him, he shouted, "Give that back," and snapped his fingers, summoning one of the jazz tigers, who he hopped onto its back. The tiger gave a small flirtatious growl and waved its paw before it took charge after Keith.

"Keith, run!" Aggie shouted, hoping Chaz won't get his hands on that saxophone.

Keith blew a raspberry at Chaz and ran off, giving chase.

Keith ran all around the grotto as fast as he could, trying to avoid getting caught by Chaz or any of his pair of tigers. But there were only so many places to hide and run around, and Keith soon found himself cornered by one of the fireplaces.

Seeing that Keith had nowhere else to go, Chaz told him in an intimidating tone of voice, "Now jazz it over, kid."

Keith looked left and right, unsure of where to go since he had no way to escape easily! But…he also saw that he was in front of a fireplace, and he was within close range of simply tossing it over and into a fireplace. With a determined laugh, Keith threw the saxophone backwards, over his shoulder, aiming for it to go into the fireplace behind him.

Chaz saw what Keith had done and shouted, "No," while failing to reach out to the saxophone in time.

But Keith's aim was a little off, and it hit the side of one fireplace, then the side of another, and then it rolled onto the floor. Seeing that it had stopped and was safe, Chaz let out a small sigh in relief.

But that was only temporary as the saxophone was next to Sophie as she slightly kicked the saxophone to her side, rolling it into the fireplace on the floor, which destroyed it and broke the hypnotic spell it laid about.

"No! The hypnotism," Chaz shouted, seeing his saxophone was now gone.

With the spell now rendered useless, it whisped away, and Poppy, Val, and Branch snapped back into reality, their mustaches disappearing as well, which led to all three Trolls looking at one another in confusion.

The spell-breaking didn't just stop at Poppy, Val and Branch; it transpired to all over TrollsTopia! Mr. Dinkles lost his beautiful blonde wig and tossed away the saxophone he played, letting out a sidewards, "Mew," as he hopped off the mushroom.

Holly snapped out of it, her mustache disappearing, along with the mustaches of everyone else. The country ambassador was confused by why she was holding a comb in her hand for no reason.

Dante also snapped out of it, his mustache disappearing, but he still had the small pink floof of chest hair. Disgusted by how it looked, he immediately pulled it off, but the pain of pulling the chest hair out made him also shout in absolute pain.

Back at the grotto, Chaz realized that his hypnotic spell had broken throughout TrollsTopia as he lamented that his plan had failed. "No! It can't be!" Surprisingly, he was caught in Branch's hair, preventing Chaz from ever planning an escape, and pinning the Smooth Jazz Troll to the ground.

Aggie used her wand staff to contain the white tigers in cages, causing them to growl in a whimper rather than flirtatious tone.

Chaz was trapped and surrounded by angry Poppy, Branch, Val, and Aggie.

"There isn't enough punishment worthy of all you've done!" Poppy snapped because she was upset over trusting in Chaz and giving him a second chance in the first place.

"I say we take him to the slammer!" Val suggested, pounding her fist with the other hand.

As the four approached Chaz, he pleaded regretfully, "Please, I beg you! I—"

Sophie stepped between her father and the four other Trolls, embracing Chaz tightly as she didn't want to let her go.

"Sophie, what are you doing?!" Branch couldn't understand why Sophie had to aid her adoptive father after discovering his true nature.

Sophie wanted to explain herself, even though she hadn't heard Branch say anything. She was making gestures with a pouty expression.

Rhythm intervened to translate her words, "She says that despite what Chaz had done, Sophie still sees him as her father, and she doesn't want us to hurt him."

But Aggie wanted to continue tormenting Chaz. She still loathed and distrusted him. But seeing Sophie draw Chaz closer to protect him made her realize how much Sophie loved Chaz, and how much he loved her, but would go to extreme lengths for her. It was horrible for Chaz to hypnotize everyone, but Aggie believed he was doing it for Sophie.

Aggie's furrowed brows rose with concern as she sighed, hating to admit about herself, "As a Troll who believes in love and friendship, I always have mercy with other Trolls who are family."

After Aggie showed him mercy and kindness, Poppy, Val, and Branch couldn't bring themselves to punish Chaz for the worst. They even noticed Sophie's love for her father. Her love was stronger than any punishment that Chaz should've deserved. However, they can't let this guy go after what he had done. He still earned the punishment.

"So, what are we going to do with him then?" Branch inquired, unsure what to do with Chaz because Sophie wouldn't let them punish him.

Aggie considered teaching Chaz a lesson without putting him in jail or worse.

Later, Chaz was seen hanging upside down from a tree with a rope tying him up. Aggie, Poppy, Branch, the ambassadors, Rhythm, and Sophie were standing under him, and Aggie seemed satisfied with her plan.

"Seriously, sis?" Synth chuckled at this.

"This is a 'funny' thing I could think of. Besides, he won't hypnotize any Troll anymore if we keep him this way," Aggie explained before stating to the other Trolls around her, "He and Sophie can still stay in TrollsTopia, but we'll keep 'you-know-who' away."

"I know you were referring to me!" Chaz yelled as he swung the rope.

Sophie stepped closer to Aggie, making hand gestures with an admiring smile.

"Sophie said thank you for letting them stay here and sparring her father," Rhythm translated Sophie's words.

Aggie touched Sophie's hair carefully. "Well, I know Sophie is innocent of her father's crime. I can't let her get involved in this. But only one favor for Sophie." When Rhythm interpreted Aggie's comments for her, Sophie turned to her, and Aggie said, "She has to keep an eye on her father in case he does something drastic again."

When Rhythm echoed Aggie's favor with hand motions, Sophie just nodded, accepting the favor.

"Well, now that's over, who wants ice cream?" Poppy disclosed.

The other Trolls chattered in agreement. Everyone wanted ice cream.

Sophie didn't join the other Trolls as they went away, leaving Chaz hanging by the tree. Instead, she sat alongside the tree and took a food container.

The other Trolls looked back to find Sophie remaining alongside her father. Sophie looked up at the other Trolls and made hand gestures to explain what she was doing.

Rhythm then responded on her behalf, "She wants to stay with her dad."

"Oh well, if you want to join us, you're welcome to," Aggie said, with Rhythm indicating Sophie with hand gestures.
Sophie merely gave the thumbs up. There's no need for more sign languages.

As the other Trolls left, Chaz tried to catch Sophie's attention, but he couldn't because his hands were twisted up. He merely hoped that a few words would make her listen.

"Sophie? Sophie, help Daddy out and get me down, huh?" Chaz requested, but Sophie didn't react. She was clearly deaf. She couldn't even look at her father while taking a scoop of pudding from her container. Chaz was still attempting to call her.

"Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophs? Sophs? Sophs? Sophs? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sweetie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophs? Sofia? Sophs? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie? Sophie?! Sophie?! Sophie?! Sophie...?!"

After getting ice cream, the other Trolls went back to their regular activities, while Poppy, Val, Branch, and Aggie left alone together and returned to the entrance of the Smooth Jazz Grotto.

Poppy then admitted to her best friend and fiancé, "Sorry, Val. Sorry, Branch. I guess I should have been suspicious from the start."

However, Val was the one to reassure Poppy, telling her, "Nah, I like that you think the best of every Troll; don't go losing that Poptimism just because of one bad cupcake. Besides, it's cool being a skeptic in this friendship."

Then, Branch agreed with Val, adding encouragement words to his fiancée, "Val's right, Poppy, you did the right thing, even though not all Trolls would appreciate that."

Poppy smiled, feeling touched by the two Trolls who supported her.

But Aggie made some stretches after her Jazz off experience as she exhaled from stretching, "Well, I got my own victory today. I beat Chaz with my Jazz music."

"With Sophie's help," Branch recalled. Rhythm already told the others what happened.

"Well, it was my idea in the first place," The Music Master smirked proudly.

Suddenly, the Trolls heard the sounds of someone grunting and turned their heads, spotting a spot on the shaggy carpet that appeared to be moving. It turned out to be Smidge, who was finally able to climb herself out, commenting, "Oh my guh," as she took a minute to catch her breath.

Once she felt like she could breathe again, she saw the others looking at her and smiled, asking them, "Oh, hey, guys; what did I miss?"

This chapter was the rewirtten version of "Smooth Operator". Special thanks to MasterClass60 for helping me with this chapter.

The way Aggie called out to Sophie for the first time was referenced by Family Guy, where Stewie tried to call to one of his and Brian's half-human/half-dog deaf child. Another Family Guy reference was Chaz calling to Sophie without sign language was similar to Lois calling out to Stewie when Brian locked her in a cage after taking drugs. It was also a callback to Stewie's calling to Lois gag.

The Jazz Off was referenced to My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks shorts, Guitar Centered.

Despite being deaf, Millicent Simmonds was casted to be Sophie because of her famous role in The Quiet Place and its sequel.
