Ginny closed the door and they paused in the hallway. She carefully met his eyes.
"Well, that's over," Harry said numbly.
It was like her whole body had stopped functioning. She didn't know what to do with herself. She stepped to him and hugged him tightly. His arms wrapped around her too.
"I am going to miss you," she told him, wishing she could tell him how much she meant it.
"I am going to miss you too," he replied, softly caressing her hair.
She let go of him reluctantly. He had a soft look on his face she couldn't quite place. Her body kicked back into action, and now she just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. She didn't want this to be a big dramatic goodbye, and she certainly wasn't planning on crying.
If they didn't spend as much time together, perhaps she could move on from him.
"I'll go pack my stuff," she told him. She quickly ran upstairs and pulled her wand out as she stepped into Harry's room. She could hear him coming up the stairs too. She raised her wand. "Accio things that belong to me."
Harry stepped onto the landing and he just came into view through the door. "Ginny, I want you to know—" He let out a piercing scream and collapsed onto the floor.
She undid the spell at once, her items returning where they came from and she ran up to Harry to check on him. He was unconscious and panic rose in her stomach.
She knelt down beside him. "Harry?"
He did not move. Her hands flitted over his body to check for any sign of life. She was just about to check for a pulse when Harry let out a gasp, his eyes flying open.
"Oh, thank Merlin!" She pulled him into her arms and hugged him tightly. "You're still alive!"
Harry pushed back a little. "Can't breathe, Ginny."
She let him go and his head dropped in her lap. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I thought you died!"
He placed his hand over his chest and he breathed in slowly. "Not yet."
"Does it hurt?" she asked him.
He nodded, and she could tell he was biting back pain. "It's slowly getting better though." He closed his eyes and swallowed.
She watched him worriedly, her fingers brushing through his hair. After another minute or so, he opened his eyes and looked at her.
"Better?" she asked.
He nodded. "The pain is fading." He sat up a little, facing her.
"I don't understand what happened," she told him.
He nodded, taking a moment to reply. "It may have to do with the fact that you tried to summon my heart."
She looked at him dumbfounded. "No, I didn't," she argued. "I summoned all things that belong to me." That is when her mind was about to give out, while her heart was getting ahead of itself. "Your heart being one of those things..?" She was going to need him to spell it out for her.
"My heart belongs to you," he said softly and a little unsure, cheeks red. His gaze dropped down. "If you want it."
Her hands came to his face and she kissed him. "I want it."
He let out a big sigh and he pulled her into his embrace. He kissed her again, though he still seemed to be struggling breathing. "Yeah?"
She noddded and let out a shaky laugh. "I'm so relieved, I thought I was losing you—not by dropping dead—I thought I'd walk out of here and…"
"You're not rid of me that easily." He nipped at her lips and then kissed her deeply.
She pulled him closer, her lips never leaving his. His heart was hers, so much so it had almost killed him. He winced and she leaned away. "You're still in pain."
"Slightly," he admitted, yet he pulled her into his lap. "Especially when my heart beats faster."
"Sorry," she said with a grin.
"You know, I had been planning on telling you," he admitted. "How I… How I really felt. I thought it was best to wait until it was over, but your summoning spell was ahead of me."
She shook her head and kissed his temple as her hand came to the back of his head. "I'm so sorry."
"Who uses a spell like that!" he let out.
She met his eyes. "How was I supposed to know?! You just don't expect a spell to work like that!"
He leaned down and kissed her neck. "I know you like a little drama." He raised his head again and grinned at her.
She huffed. "Not like that." Her hand went to his chest again, feeling for his heartbeat.
"It's still beating," he told her. "For you."
"Stop it!" She pulled him back into her and he nuzzled against her cheek. "I should have told you earlier how I felt," she admitted. "But I was scared."
"It's okay," he said as his breath fanned against her skin.
She shook her head. "And I know damn well I am a hypocrite."
"That you are." He snorted and lifted his head again. He caressed her cheek. "Go on then, ask me again."
She sighed, giving in. "Have feelings for me yet?"
"Yes," he said softly. "So many." He kissed her again, slower this time as his hand dove into her hair. He slowed down more and he leaned away, pressing his lips together as he took another breath.
"Still hurts, doesn't it?" she asked.
He nodded. "Yes."
"We should get you checked out at St Mungo's to be sure," she said. "With Quidditch, it's too risky not to."
"But I want to stay here with you," he told her softly.
She was very nearly swayed. "I know." She kissed his cheek. "We'll get you checked out and healed as necessary. Then we come back here. We do have the day off together after all."
"I think this is not what they intended," Harry said softly, his hand sliding over her waist.
"Fuck them," she said. "Come on, hospital."
He held onto her tighter. "Just a few more minutes, please."
She couldn't say no to that. She softly caressed his back, watching to see if he was in pain. He was silent, keeping his eyes trained on her as if he did not want to leave her out of his sight.
"I could try to reparo your heart," she suggested while smiling.
He shook his head. "I think we've seen enough wandwork from you today." He raised an eyebrow.
"Fine," she gave in.
He kissed her again. She kept his pace, matching the movement of his lips. He seemed to wince the tiniest bit, but he didn't disconnect from her and continued slowly. One of his hands dove into her hair. This wasn't a heated kiss like those they had shared before. This kiss was sweet and slow and tender. She couldn't get enough of it.
Too soon, he disconnected from her lips. He met her eyes with this soft look in his eyes. "I want to kiss you more."
"We should go," she replied, though she was equally reluctant. "We can do whatever you want when you've been cleared by a Healer."
His eyes darkened. "Whatever I want?"
"Yes." She kissed his forehead, then his temple and lastly his lips. "Whatever you want."
She got up and held out her hands so he could pull himself up. She watched carefully as he stood up slowly but he didn't show signs of additional pain. She patted her pocket for her wand.
He walked downstairs slowly but he seemed to be okay for now.
"Okay?" she asked.
He nodded. "Yes."
They stepped outside and she held out her hand. "I'll be apparating."
"Do you want to sit?" she asked when she saw the people waiting to register. "I'll queue."
He shook his head. "It's fine. We can just queue together."
They joined the end of the queue together silently. Harry's hand found her own and she squeezed back. She was hoping no one would recognise them but when she spotted their faces on the front of a magazine, the hope left her rather quickly.
She kept checking on him but he just squeezed her hand in reply. The person in front of them got his instructions and they stepped forward to speak to the Welcome Witch.
"Yes?" the Welcome Witch asked while barely looking up from her paper.
"My heart was almost torn out so I would like to get checked," Harry said.
Ginny was still mortified by the ordeal.
"Cause?" the Witch asked, taking notes.
"A summoning spell," Harry replied drily.
The witch shook her head to herself and noted it down. "You can sit down in the waiting room, someone will come and get you when it is your turn."
They weren't supposed to wait long, Quidditch players tended to get priority treatment, but Ginny remained silent.
"Name?" the Welcome Witch asked.
"Potter."
The witch froze and looked up. "Mr Potter!" she let out loudly as she shot up off her seat.
About every witch or wizard seemed to turn their head towards them and Ginny sighed, giving the lady an annoyed glare while she was at it.
The Welcome Witch waved her wand and a moment later a nurse appeared from the corridor. "They will take you right away. My sincerest apologies." She almost bowed.
"It's fine," Harry deadpanned.
Ginny was eager to escape the waiting room. They followed the nurse as he led them down two hallways.
"Do you think anyone recognised us?" Ginny asked.
Harry shook his head. "Oh no, I think we managed that pretty undetected."
The nurse walked into the room. "Go ahead and get settled. A Healer will come see you in a few minutes." He stepped outside and closed the door.
Harry sat down on the bed. She began pacing as she waited for the Healer to show up.
"Can you stop that?" Harry asked. "You're making me nervous."
She looked up and met his eyes. "What if I caused you permanent harm?"
"I am able to walk and talk, I think I'll be fine," he assured her.
"And they're announcing the national team next week and then there is the Cup as well," she let out. "What if I ruined your Quidditch career?"
"Ginny, it's just an accident. I'll be fine," he said, gesturing for her to come closer.
She stood between his legs. "And what if you're not?"
His arms came around her waist. "Then I'll still be fine."
She chewed her lip and looked at him.
"My heart is still beating and inside my body; how bad can it be?" He smiled just a little.
She let out a sigh and placed her hand over his heart. "It is reassuring I suppose."
There was a knock on the door and Ginny removed her hand and stood back as a young male Healer came in, holding a clipboard.
"Mr Potter," he said solemnly. "Could you give me a recount of the events?"
"A summoning charm was used but it almost got my heart summoned," Harry said as normally as he could.
She could tell he was embarrassed by it, she was too. The Healer's quill moved across the board as he wrote.
"She undid it before anything bad could happen, but I did pass out and it hurt a lot," he continued.
The Healer looked up from his board and looked at her. "Why were you trying to summon his heart?"
"I wasn't!" she defended herself. She felt her cheeks heat up. "I was trying to summon all items that belong to me… and his heart tried to make an escape."
The Healer slowly returned his gaze to his paper and wrote, attempting to keep a straight face. He cleared his throat. "Because his heart belongs to you?" he managed to squeak out.
"Yes, is that relevant?" Harry butted in. "I just need you to check if everything is where it should be."
The Healer looked back at him. "It is important to get the full picture to make sure we do not miss anything. Would you mind taking your shirt off?"
Harry pulled his shirt over his head and Ginny wiggled her eyebrows at him. He pretended not to see.
The Healer leaned in to take a closer look. "No bruising," he noted as he wrote it down. "No bulging?"
"Bulging?" Harry repeated in alarm.
"Don't worry about it," the Healer said dismissively. "If you didn't have it by now, it won't appear."
Harry looked at her warily and she returned a sympathetic smile.
"How is your pain now?" the Healer asked.
"It has subsided by now, it's achy at most," Harry explained.
"Okay, thank you." The Healer put down his quill. "Another Healer will come and assess you soon."
"Didn't you just do the assessment?" Ginny asked.
"I am not allowed to do full assessments yet," he told her. "I'm only a trainee." He smiled at them and left.
Harry turned to her. "You can't make eyes at me like that when they're assessing me!"
She walked to him with a smile.
"Unless you want them to diagnose me with a bad case of horny."
She wrapped her arms around him. "I mean, I wouldn't mind some bulging."
"Ginny!" He shook his head at her, though he was smiling. "Stop it!"
"I have to," she said. "Otherwise the guilt will overwhelm me."
He rubbed her arm. "Stop that too. There is nothing to feel guilty about."
There was another knock on the door. Ginny released Harry again.
An older female Healer walked in holding a vial. She placed it on the side table. "Good morning, Mr Potter," she greeted him. "I heard your heart was almost summoned?"
"Yes," he confirmed. "On accident of course."
The Healer smiled. "I would hope so. I am going to do a few spells to check your vitals."
They fell silent and the Healer did her spells. She nodded to herself. "Please drink that potion in the next half hour. It will help with the pain and heal any small tears. I put a monitoring spell on you so we can monitor you for two hours. We can follow your heart rate and stress over at our desk." She smiled at him. "So far it is looking pretty good and then the potion should have done its work by the end of the monitoring as well. If you need anything, just call us. The spell to use is on the paper over there." She pointed at the paper on the wall.
"Thank you," Harry said.
The Healer left. It was mostly good news, but Ginnywas a bit annoyed they would have to stay for 2 hours. She walked to him and adjusted his hair.
Harry slapped her hand away. "Stop fussing, I am fine." His other hand found hers and squeezed it. "Go sit over there, so you won't get my heart rate up."
She huffed but obliged and settled down in the chair. She picked up the first magazine from the pile in the corner and opened it, hiding her face from him.
"Interesting article?" Harry asked after a moment as he sipped the potion.
"Very," she replied without moving. "There is a feature on this Quidditch couple. What a romance."
"Really?" he replied.
She hummed in reply, she flipped the page. "Oh, a timeline! And a little factoid section." She scanned over it to determine the accuracy. "Harry, I didn't know you got a tattoo of me on your butt!"
"What?!"
She dropped the magazine on her lap and laughed at him.
He pouted at her. "You were meant to sit over there to keep my heart rate down, not rile me up." He turned on his side so he could look at her more easily. "What does it actually say?"
She picked the magazine back up, her eyes dancing over the page. "That you like me because I am a redhead like your mother."
"Yikes." His brow furrowed. "And?"
"That I am too outspoken and ugly to hold down a confident, sexy man like you—who wrote this?" She looked for the name. "Rita Skeeter."
Harry snorted, drinking the last of his potion and putting it down on the table. "Should have known."
She threw the magazine down and stood back up. He turned onto his back and his shirt rode up, revealing a piece of skin right above his jeans. She tickled the skin. His legs folded up again as he grabbed hold of her hand.
"Weasley, I am begging you." He shook his head. "You know you can go home if you want."
"You know I won't do that." She sat down on the side of the bed. "I promise I'll behave."
"Good."
"Maybe this doesn't need saying or asking but I want to ask you…" She took his hand in both of hers. "Will you officially be my for-real-now boyfriend?"
His face broke out into a smile. "You're so sweet." He reached out to her and she leaned in closer. "I'd be honoured." He kissed her softly, with his hands on either side of her face. "You're not doing a great job at keeping my heart rate down."
She chuckled. "I'm sorry."
"They are going to see and—" There was a knock on the door and Harry looked up, eyes wide. "This is your fault."
Another young Healer walked in, looking rather nervous. Ginny hopped off the bed and looked at him expectantly.
"I was just wondering if…" He took a deep breath. "I am sorry to bother you, I was wondering if I could get an autograph from both of you."
Ginny's gaze slipped to Harry's for a moment, biting the inside of her cheeks trying not to smile. They weren't being told off after all. She offered him a small nod.
"Fine," Harry said. "If you don't tell anyone else. Wouldn't want to create a whole line."
"Thank you, thank you!" He fumbled with the magazine he was holding and his quill. He handed Harry the magazine. "I always wanted to become a Quidditch player, but my parents wanted me to become a Healer so I never pursued it." He kept looking at Ginny as he spoke, only glancing at Harry occasionally.
Harry handed the magazine over to her after he signed.
"I saw a lot of your games back at Hogwarts," he announced proudly.
She looked up, trying to remember him but his face didn't ring a bell. "What house were you in?"
"Ravenclaw," he said, swallowing nervously. "Several years below you."
She nodded, she didn't know all the younger years, especially if they were in a different house. She quickly signed the magazine over her face. "I am so sorry we made Ravenclaw lose so often." She handed him the magazine and quill back.
He turned red as he took it back from her and he giggled. "Well, after you made Captain, we really didn't stand a chance. I didn't join the team until after you left."
"I believe the Healers have a team they play friendly games with," she told him.
He nodded shyly. "I will have to look into that." He took two steps backwards. "Thank you," he told her. "Both of you." He nearly tripped over his own feet as he exited the room.
Harry stared at the door for a moment longer after he had left. "Honestly, I think he just asked me as well so I didn't feel left out. How polite." He shook his head. "I think he has a little crush on you."
She put her hand on her hip and looked at him teasingly. "Apparently he isn't the only one."
With practised Seeker speed, he grabbed onto her waist and pulled her onto the bed.
She squealed in objection. "Harry no! Think of your heart!" She attempted to wiggle out of his grip.
He laughed as he held her tighter. He kissed her cheek. She stopped resisting and slumped against his side.
"Can't believe you compared me to Mr Fumble over there," he told her. "I just had my heart nearly torn out for you, what has he ever done for you?"
She smiled at him and kissed his cheek. "No need to get all worked up, honey. I'm all yours."
He looked fondly at her. "Promise?"
"Promise."
It was silent for a few minutes and she remained beside him. She traced patterns over his arm and he simply looked on.
"I am going to my parents for dinner tonight," she said.
He looked up at her. "Uh oh."
She smiled at him. "I want you to join, obviously."
"I don't know; isn't it too early to introduce me to your parents?" he joked.
"Probably," she agreed. "They thought we were together before, so you actually know what to expect."
"I don't know how much they'll like me now, since I've lied to them before," he told her.
Ginny shook her head. "They know that was on me, they don't blame you for that. My brothers definitely approve, they've been pushing me."
Harry's eyebrows raised in surprise. "Did they?"
"I asked them for advice when I realised my feelings for you." She looked up to the ceiling. "You can imagine how helpful they were being."
He hummed. "Right. How long have they known?"
"Since the Isle of Man. That's when I realised so when I got home I ran to Ron." She eyed him.
"Oh, indeed you did." He ran a finger along her arm. "It was the Longshanks, wasn't it?"
"I know you're joking but I am pretty sure that was it." Her cheeks felt hot, and her heart was thundering happily. "I realised I had big embarrassing gooey feelings for you. I couldn't deal with it."
His arm came around her middle as he turned onto his side. "You thought your feelings for me were embarrassing?" His brows knitted together, his lips quirking upwards.
She nodded. "I still think so." She locked eyes with him. "I don't fall for men like this."
He looked unimpressed. "Of course. Ginny Weasley is above such puny things as falling for a man."
"Yes," she said. "Not like this, I don't fall this hard." She covered his hand with her own.
"You know they're going to have to keep me overnight due to an erratic heartbeat and it's all your fault," he replied.
She smiled at him. "Do you want an apology poem for this whole ordeal?"
He looked at her in amusement. "Let's hear it."
"Dear boyfriend of mine. I think you're really divine. I want to apologise, for this mistake of gargantuan size."
He grinned widely at her. She continued.
"When I summoned all items in your house that belong to me, I didn't expect your heart to be included to that degree. I will concede it was a misjudgement on my part. You too do have my whole heart."
Harry squeezed her side. "That was surprisingly sweet."
She put her face closer to his. "What can I say, you bring it out in me." Then she looked over at the clock. "I can get us an early lunch while we wait?"
"I'm not sure if I'm allowed to eat," Harry responded.
She shrugged. "I'll ask at the nurse's station if you can. Do you want anything specific?"
"I don't know what they have," he said. "You can choose."
"Okay." She kissed his cheek. "I'll be right back." She stood up.
"Hey!" he went.
She turned back around.
"What kind of platonic kiss was that?" he complained. "I thought we weren't doing that anymore."
She grinned at him. "I'm sorry, it became such a habit." She leaned back down and kissed him on the lips.
His thumb teased her lower lip. "Don't be too long."
"Okay."
She returned quickly, carrying food for the both of them. The nurse had assured her it was fine. Harry was sitting up on the bed, reading the magazine she had put down earlier. He smiled when he saw her enter.
"Anything exciting happen while I was gone?" she asked.
He shook his head. "Evidently not when you're not here." He threw the magazine back to the pile. "And I didn't learn anything from that load of junk."
"Rita is not very fond of me," Ginny muttered. She showed him the food. "I brought us some wraps, some fresh soup and chocolate frogs."
Harry chuckled and she looked up warily.
"What?" she asked innocently.
"You know who you get that from, right? The whole too much food thing?"
She gasped. "How dare you!"
They had finished their food by the time the Healer returned.
"Everything was normal during the monitoring," she said. "I will take off the spell now and repeat the others to see if the potion fixed the last few tears."
Ginny watched impatiently as the Healer finished her assessment. She tried to discern anything from the Healer's expression, but she couldn't make out anything.
The Healer lowered her wand. "Good news, you are completely healthy. There was some minor internal bruising and tears but the potion has resolved it all. Your general fitness likely also helped in preventing more damage."
Harry let out an audible sigh of relief. "Completely healthy? I am cleared for… Quidditch and everything?"
She smiled. "Yes, you are cleared for all physical activity. You are completely fine."
"Thank you," Harry said.
She nodded. "The nurse will be here in just a minute with your discharge papers. Have a nice rest of your day."
As soon as the Healer was gone, Harry stood up and wrapped her in his arms to snog her. He held her tightly, and he squeezed her bum lightly.
She chuckled and eyed him eagerly. "Well, this is a relief." She lightly tapped his hand. "Do you mind keeping it in your pants? That nurse could be here any moment."
He shook his head and attacked her face with kisses. "They'll be another minute."
Ginny pulled Harry inside and closed the door. "Upstairs?"
He nodded and reached out for her but she remained out of his grip. He was right behind her as she walked up the stairs. As soon as they set foot on the landing, his hands found her hips and pulled her against him. She let out a small yelp. He turned her around while leading her into the bedroom.
She put her arms around his neck and pulled him down to kiss her. His hand roamed her body hungrily. Just this once, she wanted him to go slow. He could take as much time as he pleased.
His lips moved to her neck, licking and sucking softly before he moved further down. She noticed then the difference from before. His fingers used to take the lead exploring her skin as he undressed her, but now his lips were everywhere. He'd pull her shirt up and his mouth was immediately tracking over her skin, swirling around a constellation of freckles and then moving up. She held his head between her hands as he kissed the top of her breast while he unclasped her bra in the back.
His mouth moved down as he threw her bra aside and licked her nipple.
"Harry," she whispered.
He looked up, releasing the nipple from between his lips. "Yes?"
She called him back up and he stood up. She kissed him and tugged on his shirt. He took over from her and pulled it off. She placed a kiss against his clavicle and kissed down his chest until she was on her knees kissing right below his navel.
Harry's breath hitched. "Hang on. I'm going to put my contacts in."
She frowned at him.
He offered her an endearing smile. "I will need to take my glasses off and Merlin forbid if I can't see all of you perfectly."
"You're lucky that was the sexiest thing you could say," she said, letting him go.
He stepped away and quickly disappeared to the bathroom. She followed him, eager to continue. In the bathroom he took his glasses off and took out his contacts. She watched from the doorway.
"You're not helping," he commented as he fumbled with the lid. "Can you stop being so naked?"
She grinned. "You undressed me."
He walked to her and pulled his bathrobe off the hook on the door and put it over her. Reluctantly she folded the sleeves to uncover her hands.
Harry walked back to the mirror. The first one went in with relative ease, but he struggled with the other. "Stop rushing me!"
Her eyebrows rose. "I am just standing here!"
He dropped the contact back in the container and looked at her. "Are you?"
She walked to him. "I'll do it."
He frowned at her in question and didn't reply.
"I've seen you do it a ton of times, and I have very steady hands," she told him.
"Fine," he gave in. "It's not like I am doing a better job at it."
She hopped onto the counter. "Are you nervous?" she teased.
"Oh, yeah," he said with sarcasm. "Having sex for the first time as a couple is important but wait… I think we have done this before."
She guided for him to stand in between her legs. She took up the container and fished out the contact with her finger. "I do think it's different."
He nodded. "I want to make it count at least."
She paused with the contact on her finger. "You're going to have to look somewhere near my face at least."
His hands lifted, wrapping the robe a little better so less skin was showing. Then he looked up. With determination she lifted her finger and mimicked the moves he always did, popping the contact into his eye.
Harry blinked. "Oh, wow."
She grinned. "Nice." She pulled the robe off her shoulders. "How is your vision?"
His eyes slid back down. "20/20 view."
She jumped off the counter, quickly making her way back to the bedroom. Harry attempted to grab hold of her but he only managed to grab the bathrobe and she easily stepped out of it. She turned around and shimmied out of her jeans as he watched.
He pulled her back into his arms.
"I have to tell you something," she said, putting a hand flat against his chest. She kept a straight face. "I am a virgin."
He froze, his eyes locking with hers. Then he started laughing and pulled her into a hug. He kissed the top of her head, still chuckling. "Don't worry, I'll go gently."
She smiled at him and then escaped his arms again, she got on the bed and turned on her back. He crawled after her and looked down. He reached between her legs, his thumb sliding over the wet patch of her underwear.
She knew she was so wet for him right now.
His eyes shifted up to her face. "Got a little worked up, did you?" he teased, pressing a little more with his thumb.
"Thinking of having sex with you as my boyfriend really gets me going apparently," she told him.
He pulled her underwear down and quickly threw it somewhere behind him. He lowered his head, putting his tongue to her clit.
The anticipation mixed with excitement seemed to have intensified the experience. The pleasure built rapidly as Harry's fingers curled and his mouth sucked and licked. She urged him to stop. He paused and looked up at her, lips wet.
She breathed out. "I need you," she begged. "I need you inside right now."
Harry licked his fingers clean and then moved up her body. His face hovered over hers. "Don't know long if I'll last long," he told her. "Turns out having sex with my girlfriend really gets me going."
She laughed as he retook her words. She found it all the more exciting they were both so hot and bothered. Harry positioned himself and then slowly pushed in.
Ginny moaned, pulling his whole body closer to her. He settled against her as they found their rhythm. His lips connected to hers. She wrapped her arms around him, keeping him close.
"I didn't want to leave, I'm so glad…"
She trailed off as Harry met her eyes and he nodded.
"I knew from the start, I'd fall for you." He paused for a moment, so he could look at her properly. "And I did."
She caressed his cheek. "You did warn me."
"I tried." He smiled softly. "And you told me it didn't have to be complicated."
She could detect the taunting tone and smiled apologetically. "I know," she whispered. "I can't believe you went with it."
He bit back his smile. "I didn't know any better back then."
"And I'm glad for it," she admitted. Her hand slid down his back.
He kissed her and started moving again, his breath hitching a little. She wrapped her legs around his waist and hooked her feet. Harry moaned softly as she pulled him in deeper. He picked up his pace, driving in faster.
"I'm getting close," Ginny told him. She could feel her orgasm building with every move of their hips.
"Already?" he let out.
She nodded, keeping her eyes on him. "I'm sorry?" She nipped at his skin. "Am I allowed?"
"You're allowed," he responded. "Fuck, you're so allowed." He pushed in deeper. "Cum for me, Ginny."
She moaned as he kissed her. She was so close now. Five thrusts later she was pulled over the edge. She let her head drop back on the pillow. She moaned his name and clutched him tightly. Harry didn't pause and continued sliding in and out until he came too not long after her.
He moaned her name as he buried his face in the crook of her neck. They caught their breath together and remained in that position for just a moment. She kissed his cheek.
He rolled onto his side, keeping hold of her so she remained tucked close to him. Harry's eyes slipped closed as she massaged his neck and shoulders. She kept gazing at his face, trying to take it all in as if she had seen it for the first time.
"I'm so lucky to have you," she said softly. "You're kind of the perfect boyfriend." Her cheeks felt hot.
His eyes opened again to look at her. "Am I?"
She nodded. "Charming, kind, funny... those sweet green eyes..." She looked into them, focused on her. "And you've got those nice strong but gentle arms and a cute butt. A nice dick."
His eyes closed for a moment as he seemed to bite back a smile. "You're with me because I have a nice dick?"
"It's a nice bonus," she said, her hips pushing forward. "Nice length, good girth..."
Harry laughed and pushed her hips back and moved, settling on top of her. "Do you want more of my nice dick?" he asked, planting kisses down her neck and collarbone.
"Go on then, Harry." Ginny's hands slipped up his back. "Give me some of that perfect dick."
"Perfect?" he told her. "Can I quote you on that?"
She shook her head and opened her legs to make space for him. "Absolutely not." She glanced down. "How are you hard again already?"
"You're definitely the main cause," he started. "But I think that potion did something." He slipped in again easily.
"Yes, perfect," she sighed.
He kissed her. "Don't say that, it'll go straight to my head."
"We wouldn't want you getting cocky," she said.
He snorted, his hips shifting. "Don't make me laugh."
She locked eyes with him. "Suppose you'll just have to distract me." Her hand ran down his spine.
She sat up, it was nearly dinner time. The sheets were a mess, pillows thrown everywhere, clothes discarded. She stood up and put on Harry's old shirt she had been sleeping in. She ran her fingers through her hair in the hopes of reducing the tangles just a little bit.
"Where are you going, my love?" he asked.
She smiled. "Feeding Arnie."
She walked downstairs and found Arnold on the living room table. She took his feed out of the cupboard and filled a plate. She walked back to the table and let him hop on.
She walked back in. Harry had tidied the bed a little bit. She placed the plate in front of them on the bed as she slipped back into Harry's embrace. They looked at Arnie as he hopped around the plate, making quick work of his meal.
"I am secretly glad I don't have to give him up," Harry said.
She met his eyes. "You would have gotten visiting rights, you know."
"It's not the same."
Arnold hopped off the plate and walked on them for a moment, only toppling over once and then rolled off the bed and out of the room. When she looked up, Harry was already looking at her.
"What?" she asked.
He smiled brightly. "You're so pretty."
She turned on her side. She leaned in to kiss him and he closed the rest of the space. Despite having been connected to his lips for the better part of the afternoon, she simply couldn't get enough of kissing him, holding him close, exploring his skin. She leaned away and couldn't help the little happy sigh escaping her lips.
Harry raised a curious eyebrow.
"You make my heart horny," she told him.
"You're my horny heart," he said with another kiss on her cheek.
"We need to clean up and head to my parents," she told him, though she didn't move out of his arms.
He sighed. "I forgot the outside world existed for a little."
She sat up on her knees. "They'll be really excited for us, I promise."
She walked into the Burrow, holding Harry's hand. Her dad, Fred, George and Ron were already at the table with her mum just finishing preparing dinner.
Ron grinned at their clutched hands but said nothing.
"There's room for one more, right?" she asked casually.
At this moment, her mum looked at them properly. Her eyebrows shot up. "Of course. Anything to tell us?"
Harry squeezed her hand reassuringly.
"We are together," she said, staring at the floor. "For real this time."
"Good," her mum said.
Fred shook his head. "About time."
A galleon passed from George's hand to Fred's.
Her dad waved his wand, setting another spot at the table. Ginny sat down quickly, Harry beside her.
"There were rumours you were sighted at St Mungo's today," her father said. "Is everything alright?"
Her head shot up in surprise.
"I guess we are not keeping that a secret," Harry commented.
She shook her head. "No. No, I guess not."
"What happened?" her mum asked with concern.
Ginny shook her head and looked at Harry to speak.
Harry seemed a bit embarrassed too. He took a breath. "Our managements decided today that we could stop fake-dating. They're announcing the World Cup spots next week so it probably was a good moment." He glanced at her and continued. "So we went back to my place, and Ginny used a summoning charm and accidentally summoned my heart."
She closed her eyes and shook her head. "I did reverse the spell immediately. He was passed out on the floor, I thought he died! He ended up being fine but we had to go to Mungos for a check up."
"Okay, but how do you accidentally summon someone's heart?" George asked.
Her mum set the pots down on the table and sat down too.
Ginny eyed him. "Go on, Harry."
"Ginny summoned all things that belong to her." His gaze broke away and he stared somewhere to the middle of the table. "My heart is included in that."
She buried her face in her hands.
There was a beat of silence and then all the men burst out laughing. Ginny helplessly looked at her mum, but she was smiling too.
"It's not funny, he could have died!"
"No lasting damage, Gin," Harry comforted her.
"Can't believe it took you a summoning charm to finally tell each other." Her father shook his head warily.
She looked at her dad with a frown. "Don't pretend you knew."
He smiled innocently. "But I did. And if I have picked up on it, must've been glaringly obvious."
Ginny pouted. "No, you didn't."
Her dad rubbed her head. "It's okay. We've seen the way you look at each other. You make each other happy."
Ginny felt more blood rushing to her cheeks, and she covered them in the hopes of hiding her blush. She was thoroughly embarrassed now. "We should eat."
They all filled their plate in unusual silence. Ron gave her an approving smile. She looked over at Harry in search of some support. He leaned closer to her and softly caressed her arm before picking up his fork. The whole exchange wasn't missed by her mother, who smiled brightly.
"Don't be surprised when you read our breakup in the papers tomorrow," she added.
"Let's hope it's not Rita Skeeter writing the article, she'll be happy to drag both of us through the mud," Harry commented.
She chuckled. "Mostly me."
"You know if you had taken our advice, this whole ordeal wouldn't have happened." Fred pointed at the two of them with his fork.
"Thank you, Fred." She stabbed a potato with her fork. "It isn't like I'm not already completely mortified by this." She let out a sigh. "It's not like I didn't try but... he had fallen asleep."
Harry looked at her wide-eyed. "What?"
"I plucked up the courage once, said your name and you were... dead asleep." She grimaced at him. "Sorry."
"What about you?" Ron asked Harry. "Too scared to ask our sister out?"
Harry shrugged. "A little... when you have to continue pretending to be a couple, that complicates things. So I was biding my time, waiting for this whole thing to be over to tell her how I felt but... a summoning spell was ahead of me."
Fred shook his head. "What a story." He looked over at George. "Really tears at your heartstrings, doesn't it?"
Ginny looked up at them, begging them not to continue but she knew it was futile.
"Follow your heart, that's what I say," Ron said.
George nodded. "I think if you have your heart in the right place, it will all work out."
"Boys," her mum warned halfheartedly.
"Should have poured her heart out to him much earlier," Fred continued.
Her dad patted her hand. "They are just kidding, Ginny." Her dad patted her hand. "You shouldn't take it to heart."
"Dad!" she let out.
Her brothers held in their sniggers.
"He had his heart set on you," George spoke again.
Fred looked at her. "I am trying to summon the strength to stop."
She shot up and whipped out her wand. Her brothers scrambled off their chairs, escaping into the garden. She followed them out and fired off hexes towards them, but they dodged quite a few before George got hit by a bat-bogey.
"Ginny."
She turned around and Harry wrapped his arm around her. He took out his own wand and fired off one spell.
"Who did you get?" she asked against his chest.
He turned her around. "All of them."
She looked at the three men on the ground. "Ooh, nice. You have to teach me that sometime." She glanced up at him. "Thank you for taking my side."
"Of course." Harry undid the spell and they got back up, looking defeated.
Ginny walked back inside, pulling Harry along. She met eyes with her mum and raised her eyebrows in question. She wondered if she was going to get scolded.
"Suppose they deserved that one," she said, continuing eating.
Harry closed the door with a sigh. "What a day."
"You could say that," Ginny agreed as she walked after him into the living room. She turned to Harry. "I am sorry for almost killing you."
He brought his arm around her shoulders. "I will forgive you because I love you."
Her head shot up. "Come again?"
He held her gaze. "You heard what I said," he said softly.
She turned to face him. "You're going to have to say it again," she said as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "I wasn't ready."
His hands rested on her hips. "I forgive you?"
She stood on her tiptoes, her lips nearing his. "Please?" she said, eyes locked softly with his.
He pulled her in closer. He didn't look away. "I love you."
She let out a happy sigh. She made sure he was still looking at her. "I love you too."
He beamed. "Really?"
She nodded without hesitation. "I know my heart hasn't been torn out—"
"And let's not repeat that," he said. He kissed her softly.
"I do want to show you how much…" she continued but he immediately shook his head.
His hand caressed her cheek and he spoke to her softly. "You don't need to prove it to me."
"I need you to understand that you're stuck with me now," Ginny told him. "I'm not going anywhere. I want to prove that to you, so you know."
"It doesn't matter if I say it's not necessary, right?" he asked her.
She shook her head. "Not really."
He nodded. "I thought so, but it was worth a shot."
She kissed him back eagerly. Her hands shifted, one hand ducking under his shirt to caress the skin. Harry hummed happily. He took her lip between his teeth and tugged gently as he pulled her body flush against him.
Ginny escaped his arms with a little grunt.
"Where are you going?" Harry asked.
She halted midway into getting up. "To put clothes on?" She sat up on her knees. "You are pretty adamant on that unless we're too drunk to care."
"Please sleep naked with me," he said. "You're my girlfriend, you're allowed."
She smiled softly at him. "Really?"
"Yes, I want to," he admitted. "It's just a boundary that I had, but it no longer applies;"
"Well, in that case." She let herself drop again and he caught her.
"That doesn't mean you can tease me non-stop," he told her as he tucked into her.
She chuckled. "I know." She kissed his cheek. "Remember how I joked with Livvy that if I got a boyfriend I'd have to bring you along to give the poor man instructions?"
"Problem solved," he said. "Just thinking about it made me jealous."
"I thought you said you didn't have a jealous streak," she teased.
He looked up at the ceiling. "I know I do. I just hadn't really clocked why I was jealous of Neville…"
She squeezed his arm. "They're going write more junk about us, you can't believe everything you read."
"I know." He kissed her forehead and then hugged her close again. "That won't happen again."
She closed her eyes. "You're going to stop being jealous?"
"No." He sighed. "I don't think I can help that, but I won't act like an ass because of it."
Ginny chuckled. "Just talk to me."
"I will." It was silent for a moment. "Do you want to do that hike tomorrow?"
She opened her eyes again. "You said it was useless as a date."
"A public date, yes. Because we'd be pretty hard to find," Harry replied. "I think it suits us rather well now."
She wiggled her legs about.
Harry glanced down. "What are you doing?"
"Checking if I've got the legs for it," she replied with a grin.
Harry's hand dove down and he pulled her leg up by the back of her knee. She laughed, trying to lower her leg again but he kept hold of it.
"I do think you've got the legs for it," he said and his hand ran along her thigh. "Such lovely legs, good for walking."
She laughed and rested her leg over his stomach. He trailed a path up and down with his finger.
"Do you have the legs?" he asked seriously.
"Yes, I think so," she confirmed. "We should go early enough. If I walk in the sun at noon…"
He nodded. "You know there are spells for that, right?"
She stopped his hand on her thigh. "I do but then you have to redo it and I forget and then you get lobster Ginny."
"We wouldn't want that." He turned his hand around and took hold of hers, entwining their fingers. "We'll go bright and early."
"Okay," she agreed, resting her head on his shoulder.
His thumb caressed the back of her hand. "Good night."
"Good night," she replied. "I love you."
Harry sighed softly. "You can't hit me with that when I don't expect it."
"I'll say it when it pleases me," she said. "Get used to it."
A/N: Updating this on time!
I had quite a good laugh with you calling me 'evil' and 'mean'. I hope this chapter made up for it...?
This chapter took many shapes before I had a midnight thought about making it more dramatic with a summoning spell. There was one version where Ginny just goes off on a rant about having to go and then Harry tells her he doesn't want her to go. There was a briefly different version that I even barely remember... but I am glad I settled on this one. We know they attract drama, without trying.
I also want to thank the people who saw the first version/sneak peek and gave feedback! I always have doubts about important chapters like this one...
And this fic is now 100K words long in my drafts... this is definitely my microfic that got the most out of hand.
PS: I have started another story called 'Experimentally in love' but I am not posting it here because it's a hassle. It is up on my AO3 (GinnyWPotter) if you want to read it.
Harry signs up via a survey to participate in a relationship experiment and ends up being paired up with Ginny.
