Last time: They discovered where Jiardon and Cien might be, but Op and Kait take Lana home.
Now: They take off to save Cien.
Chapter 15- Storming the Taipan
Admiral Sulam wiped her face, looking around at Scamp, Kyr, Sasha, Viran and Shades who had been asked to join. "That is the stupidest idea I've ever heard." She glanced at Kyr and Scamp. "This is just like the old days."
"The assumption, ma'm, is that if stupid worked then, stupid will work now." Kyr said simply.
"But this is almost reckless," Sasha said, her arms folded across her chest. "Were all of your missions during the war this dumb?" She asked.
"Most of them," Scamp said, smirking.
"The good ones." Kyr agreed.
"I really don't like this." Shades said, a little nervous standing at the planning table with the Admiral there.
"Wait seriously?" Viran asked, surprised. "But this will be so amazing if we can pull this off."
"The key word is 'if' there, hun," Sasha pointed out. "If this does work. If it doesn't, it will not end well for us."
"That is the major risk with this plan, but I have faith it'll work especially with an amazing pilot behind the helm," Scamp added, nodding his head towards Shades.
"With all due respect, sir." Shades said with an odd amount of formality. "I uh… am not sure even a droid could take us out of hyperspace so precisely." She said uncomfortably. "And if we don't do this right it won't only take us out, it'll turn that Star Destroyer into a small star."
"Even with the 19th covering our entrance I don't think we have a safer way to get past their defenses and get aboard." Kyr commented.
"I don't disagree." Shades a little archly. "Sir." She added.
"I'm with Shades on this," Sasha said, furrowing her brow. "There has to be another way. One that won't get us killed in the process."
"There are really no other options that will work for us," Scamp argued gently. "This is our best shot of getting Cien."
"What if I pilot the ship?" Viran suggested. "I could use the Force to help us land."
"Viran," Sasha started to protest.
"Wait." Shades said. "You want to pilot my U-wing?" She said, furrowing her brow at Viran, all sense of decorum at the table lost from her.
"If it means we can pull off this move successfully then I guess so," Viran said, shrugging. He then immediately threw his hands up defensively. "And I know you are a fantastic pilot! I am not discounting that! You're actually one of the best I have seen. I was only suggesting myself because I could use the Force to make the move go smoother. That's it." He added hurriedly.
"No, that would be kriffing awesome!" Shades said, "I read all about the Jedi Commanders and Generals and all the osik they pulled off as pilots, I'd love to see it in the cockpit with my own kriffing eyes!" She said. She glanced hurriedly at the Admiral and swallowed. "As long as you are okay with the plan, ma'm."
Admiral Sulam looked at Shades, trying to hide her bemusement, then looked around the table, and her gaze settled on Viran. "Do you feel like you can safely pull this off without blowing up the Taipan and the 19th?"
Viran's shocked, yet relieved expression from Shades' reaction melted away to a serious one. "Admittedly, there is a part of me that has my doubts. But I know what I am capable of. I would not suggest it if I did not trust my own abilities as a Jedi and as a pilot if I didn't think I could do this," he said, determined. "And with Sasha, who is a literal beacon in the Force, there to help me, I can and will pull this off." Sasha blushed from the compliment. He looked at Shades. "I just can't promise your U-Wing won't get a little scratched from the maneuver."
Shades waved him off. "Scratches just give 'er more character."
The Admiral looked at Sasha. "We've heard from the Mando, the Clone Commander, and the two hotshots, what does our resident Jedi Master say?" She asked slightly bemusedly.
"I'm no Master. I'm only a Knight," Sasha corrected, bashfully. She cleared her throat and looked at Viran. "But I know what Viran is capable of. As much as I hate this plan, I know he is the only one capable of pulling off successfully enough for us to get aboard. And I will do my best to keep us from crashing with the Force. I've just never used it on such a large object before, but it's worth a shot if it means saving Cien. So I guess," she sighed, "yeah, let's do this."
Viran beamed at her and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Blech." Kyr said quietly from under his buy'ce.
"So it's settled then," Scamp said, smiling.
The Admiral rolled her eyes and threw her hands up. "Great, let's go do something stupid."
Viran sat behind the helm of the U-Wing, tapping his foot in anticipation for the telemetry that would let him leap to hyperspace. The rest of the fleet had already jumped away leaving them alone in space for the moment. The air aboard the U-Wing was tense as everyone was aware of how quickly they would suddenly appear into the heat of battle. His hand rested on the hyperspace lever, waiting for the green light to go. Biting his lip, he stared ahead at the empty void of space knowing that very soon it would be filled with a firefight. Shades was sitting in her seat next to him, chewing her gum.
Suddenly, the navicomputer lit up with the telemetry transmitted from the rest of the 19th. In the matter of a second, Viran glanced at the monitor, registered the coordinates, and pulled back onto the lever immediately shooting them into hyperspace. The stretching stars and the swirl of hyperspace filled the viewport for only a few tense seconds before the navicomputer went off again to indicate their arrival. Viran centered into the Force, sensing the exact moment they would need to extract themselves from hyperspace as he ignored the beeping.
There.
Viran pulled the lever again and the U-Wing was suddenly plunged into the heat of battle as it exited hyperspace and bled off the speed, going through the thick of combat as the ships of the 19th, laser bolts and fighters went whizzing past at a dizzying speed, mixing with the streak of stars as they decelerated. All the while, within a span of a second the Taipan grew from a distant arrowhead to filling their entire view as they aimed directly for the main hangar bay. The navicomputer alarm had them pulling out of hyperspace further back than where Viran brought them in, but they would have still been in the middle of the dogfight.
"Hang on!" Viran called out as he spun the ship around with a power slide using his ethereal rudder, rolling the ship and pulling up to bring the main engines to bear. As the ship entered with far too much speed it slammed into the air of the hangar bay and sent out a concussive blast like a bomb, sending flight crews and pieces of equipment tumbling away and utterly destroying everyone and everything in the hangar.
The barrage of explosions, the whine of engines as it desperately tried to slow down, the abrupt maneuvering on Viran's part whizzing by them made the entire experience inside of the U-Wing jarring and overwhelming. It had been quiet moments before and now it was pure chaos. Their lateral momentum still drove them back into the hangar, past the debris and flight crews scattered by their explosive entrance. Flipping switches rapidly and reaching out with the Force, Viran tried to make the U-Wing slow down as it landed with a sharp impact and skidded across the bay towards the bulkhead that in, the back of his mind, he remembered was where the AT-ATs were held. But it was still too fast.
"Sasha!" Viran called out to the back.
Sasha knew what he was thinking, because instantaneously he felt another pull on the ship as she used the Force to help slow it down. The U-Wing started to slow until it came to a halt on the other side of the hangar, crashing lightly with a slight bump into the wall causing the wall to dent under the impact. But thankfully, the ship and all of them were still intact. Viran let out a breath he didn't even realize he was holding as he released his death grip on the controls.
"Everyone okay?" He asked over his shoulder as the adrenaline of the quick arrival and landing still hung in the air. He got a series of moans, groans, and other noises that he assumed meant everyone was alive.
"Viran." Shades said from next to him, in a very measured voice. "That was the most kriffing awesome thing I have ever seen as a pilot. Don't ever do it again." She said in a very calm and measured voice, still.
"Agreed," Viran nodded, his breath shaky as he trembled for a moment. "That was exhilarating. And I never want to do it again." He said, making to stand up. "You can have your ship back."
"Thanks." Shades said, taking the controls in hand as she started making it ready for a quick exit and to defend against the few surviving hangar personnel and anti-boarding forces that were sure to arrive soon. Viran walked to the back as Scamp and Troy mounted up on the doors.
"Green light. Let's go," Scamp said as he pulled open the doors.
Troy and the Marines hopped off first, fanning out and starting to clear the area. Sasha, Viran, and Kelce hopped off next, weapons at the ready.
Kyr and Wynnie were right behind them followed by Scamp, Dravis and Nova, their blasters up and out, looking for anyone that looked like they would give them trouble. The hangar bay itself was utter chaos, their entrance having acted like a hangar bay sized grenade clearing the vast space.
"This way," Scamp ordered as he led the team towards the door that would lead further into the ship.
"Sasha, you sensing her?" Kyr asked as they sprinted across the hangar.
Sasha focused for a moment then nodded. "Yes, I sense her. She's here," she said, confidently. But she didn't voice that she also sensed another familiar presence. The one from before that had bothered her so much, but had left her alone since Coruscant. And it felt overwhelmingly stronger here that her stomach turned slightly at the presence in the Force.
When they approached the door to the corridors, the door was bent and dented in several spots from the explosion and a large pile of debris blocked it, making it impossible for anyone to climb over it. Sasha and Viran both used the Force and cleared the debris off to the sides. Scamp moved forward once the door was clear and mounted up on one side near the controls. Kyr mirrored him on the other side of the opening, and the marines split off, stacking up behind them as they prepared to breach. Scamp pressed the controls and door jerked open slightly with a loud metal screech. However, the opening was only big enough for a child to crawl through.
"Nova, you're on," Scamp said as he backed away from the door, his blaster pointed at the opening.
Nova moved forward and pulled out breaching tape. She lined it along the door frame. Once it was placed, she took a step back and pressed a button on her gauntlet to activate it. The tape melted the durasteel away and after a moment, the large door dropped out of its frame, landing in the hallway beyond with a loud thud.
Kyr and Scamp swept past the edges of the molten door and into the next space, a maintenance bay for TIE fighters. There was one TIE up on the stands, a solar panel that was detached and in a cradle off to the side, and signs of techs who had dropped whatever they were doing to evacuate the room and get to their action stations once the battle outside got underway. The Taipan shuddered from the attacks but the 19th was staying its hand for the boarding party.
"Dravis." Kyr called as he cleared the room. "Droid socket."
"On it." Dravis said, running forward with his data spike.
"Is this HAVOC?" Kyr asked as he glanced up from his blaster.
"No." Dravis said as he inserted the spike. "This is something different."
The light flashed black as the entire party looked around the space.
Sasha watched them as the others provided cover around Dravis. Suddenly she heard a strange whistling. It didn't sound like a droid. It sounded like a red sparrow, like the ones she remembered vaguely from… Vestora? Looking around in confusion as to where the bird call came from, Sasha saw no sign of any sparrow. Then the whistling stopped when the lights came back up and Kyr spoke up again.
"Well what is it?" Kyr asked Dravis.
"CONTROL." Dravis said. Around them all the door control panels lit red as they were sealed. "Tac, QT you guys connected?" He asked into his comlink.
Both of them whistled an affirmative.
"Keep them on the line, they can unlock doors for you. Otherwise the Imps are locked out of the system." Dravis said as he retrieved his dataspike.
"Dravis, you're a miracle worker." Kyr said as he posted up near the door.
"Hyperdrive that way. Bridge and cells this way," Scamp said, indicating with his hand what direction each was in. "Now move!"
The group split off into their respective teams as Dravis and Nova headed off towards the hyperdrive.
Viran quickly pulled Sasha in for a kiss. "Bring her home," he said as pulled away and turned to follow Dravis and Nova.
"May the Force be with you," Sasha called after him with a nod as she headed the opposite direction.
"You too!" She heard him respond back with.
"Good luck." Kyr said to all the parties as they started splitting off, Kyr took point heading down the corridor with Scamp leading the way at his side. They ran down the length of the corridor and reached a T-junction that both carefully cleared. No stormtroopers. "Scamp, where are the shinies?" Kyr asked him curiously.
"I'm not sure," Scamp said, glancing around as he looked up and down the corridor. "Most likely this ship is understaffed. Who knows, but let's take this opening and run with it."
"Couldn't agree more." Kyr said. "Good luck." He said this was the junction where Scamp and his team would head off for the bridge while the rest would head towards the brig.
"You too," Scamp said as Troy led the Marines down the corridor. He turned and hustled after them.
Sasha looked at Kyr. "Let's go before any stormtroopers arrive," she urged, heading the direction of the brig.
"No argument here." Kyr said, bounding forward to take point again.
As Sasha nodded, glancing back at him, she did a quick double take. For a split second, Kyr didn't look like himself, but like Op when he was a bit younger in his jacket with less tears in it then it has presently. Then when she glanced at him again, he looked like Kyr in his beskar armor and patched flight suit. She shook the strange vision away as she focused ahead towards the cell bay.
"Tac." Kyr called out, "bulkhead 654791." He said as he stacked up against the structure for the bulkhead. Wynnie stacked up behind him just like old times. Sasha and Kelce stacked up opposite of them with Sasha in front of Kelce, her saber before her.
The door slid open and on the other side were four startled stormtroopers that looked like they had been working on the opposite bulkhead, trying to get through. Kyr didn't wait for the bulkhead to fully open before he started shooting. Wynnie swung around him and finished off the other two, and all four fell dead near instantaneously.
"Clear." Kyr called out as he already started moving, his blaster carbine up and at the ready.
As they moved forward, Kyr and Wynnie stayed up front, taking care of any opposition that stood in their path. Kyr was glad that Sasha was staying as rear guard for them, since he and Wynnie were more comfortable having to handle the stormtroopers in an expedient manner. He worried about Sasha, in particular, having to actually deal with any of the troopers. And with Kelce by her side, the two did provide excellent cover on their flank in case any stormies decided to sneak up on them from behind.
Every intersection, Kyr had to call out to Tac the small number that was imprinted on the panel, and Tac or QT obliged by opening it. They encountered oddly few stormtroopers along the way, and all of them were taken by surprise since with the CONTROL virus in place they had almost complete authority over the comms in the ship. The sounds of battle and explosions from outside the ship had quieted, whether that was because they were heading deeper into the ship Kyr wasn't sure, but it was also, probably that the virus had affected those systems as well.
They got to the secured turbolift that would take them down to the brig level.
"Wynnie, you got your flashbangs ready?" Kyr asked her, expecting some troops they would have to clear out once they went down to the detention level.
"Yep." She said she had two clipped to her belt.
Sasha glanced at Wynnie and Kyr then at the lift. As they waited for it to arrive, she stretched out with the Force to try and sense Cien's exact location. As she stood there concentrating, she noticed Cien's presence wasn't coming from the decks below them, but from ones above them. She furrowed her brow in confusion as she checked again to make sure that was correct. After a moment, she realized that what she was sensing was correct. She looked to the others.
"Kyr, I sense Cien," Sasha said, her brow still furrowed. "But she's not in the brig. She's above us." She gestured to the ceiling with her pointer finger.
"What?" Kyr asked, looking back at her. "Like up where? How far?" He asked, furrowing his brow under his buy'ce.
"Up a few decks," Sasha said, concentrating on her sister's location more. "Like up near the bridge."
Kyr looked at her, then down. "Copper Actual, how far are you from your objective?" He spoke into his comline
"Still have a ways to go," Scamp answered. "We are running into a lot of shinies here, Colonel. Why?"
"Our objective is with yours." Kyr stated. "You are still on your primary entry route?" He asked.
"Yeah, we are," Scamp replied, distractedly as the sound of blaster fire could be heard in the background.
"We'll take an alternate route and meet you there." Kyr said tersely, already walking down the corridor with apurpose as he went to look for the nearest bank of turbolifts that would connect up to the bridge.
Sasha was right behind him as they headed that way. As they walked down the corridor, Sasha could hear the sounds of the red sparrows song again as she started to notice bushes and trees growing around them. The more she looked around, the denser the foliage seemed to get. And as they entered into the lift lobby area, it looked like they were walking into a clearing, similar to the one where the Forerunner hid on Vestora. And as her gaze shifted around, she realized she was now following Oppie instead of Kyr. The vision held on for a moment longer this time as she looked around in shock as it looked like she was now standing in a forest and not the lift lobby of a star destroyer. When she looked back towards where Kyr should be, she saw Oppie instead looking at her, concerned.
"Sasha?" He asked worriedly.
Reaching up to rub her eyes to clear her vision, Sasha dropped her hand and looked up at him again. But she was staring at the T-visor of Kyr's bucket and she was standing in the star destroyer again with Wynnie and Kelce there too. The trees and bushes were gone, and the bird song stopped. She looked around with a slight hint of fear in her eyes as she thought back to what happened on the balcony before they left Coruscant, and realized this was similar yet different somehow to that. The dark presence grew stronger in her mind as she tried to push the thought away.
"Sasha? Are you okay?" Kelce asked, concerned as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
That pulled her fully back to reality as she looked up at him. "Yes, I'm fine. I just had a really strange… feeling come over me in the Force," she said, uncertain. "I thought I was having that vision again." She glanced at Kyr when she said that. "But don't worry about me. We need to keep moving." She added, assuring them that she was okay.
"You sure?" Kyr asked worriedly. "Things might get pretty hot up there." He gestured with his thumb up towards the command decks above them.
"I'm sure," Sasha said, nodding. "It was just a momentary thing. I'm fine now. I promise. Now let's go." She urged, evenly.
Kelce nodded, convinced for the moment, as he dropped his hand from her shoulder.
"Okay." Kyr said, stepping back over to the turbolifts. "Tac, we need express service up to officer country."
QT whistled back indignantly.
"I don't really care which of the two of you does it." Kyr said exasperated. "Turbolift at bulkhead 296389." He called out.
A few seconds later the lift doors opened, and Kyr stepped in, followed by Wynnie, Kelce and Sasha. Kyr glanced at Sasha as she filed in. "Any idea what floor, or is she just 'up'?" He asked, as the doors closed.
"No. Just that she is up there," Sasha said, glancing at him. "I'll have a better idea the closer we get. And I'll try to give you a heads up so we don't do an emergency stop." She added lightly.
"Okay." He said as he looked back at the control panel, and frowned at it. He remembered that the VIP suites were a few decks below the main bridge, usually there was a space reserved for the Moff or the Fleet Admiral that was customized to their eccentric whims. Jiardon would have done that, he was sure, and he would probably be holding Cien near him, then, if she wasn't being kept in the brig. He gulped, and entered the deck for the VIP suites.
They rode up in tense silence, as around them floors flashed by with little light indicators to give some kind of movement in the walls of the lift.
"I always wondered why they didn't play music in these things." Kyr said quietly.
"The Empire never struck me as the type to have lift music," Kelce smirked. "But if they did, it might be that overplayed recruitment theme that used to always play on their holonet reports."
"I hated that theme," Sasha commented, dryly. "It sounded so chipper for being a tune for a group responsible for so much evil."
"I thought it was kind of upbeat." Wynnie commented quietly.
Kyr glanced down at her, and she glanced up at him after a split second.
"I mean it was still evil." She said, back tracking. "But, like, in an uplifting way."
Kyr looked back forward. "Exactly, it was so uplifting, they should play it in turbolifts." He commented dryly.
"Then you can bring up with their new boss when you see him," Kelce joked, smiling at Kyr. "I'm sure he'll consider the recommendation."
"Next floor," Sasha said suddenly. Kyr nodded and hit the controls.
"Yeah, I'll have a few suggestions for him." Kyr groused, hefting his carbine a little closer on his shoulder as they neared their destination. "Back against the walls." Kyr ordered, pressing himself back into the sides of the lift for what little cover they would provide, as beside him Wynnie did the same.
Sasha and Kelce pressed against the opposite wall as they waited for the lift to open. Sasha with her saber up and ready, and Kelce with his pistol at hand.
The lift door opened, and Kyr waited for a barrage of blaster bolts to come in. He glanced around the corner when the hailstorm did not materialize and saw an empty corridor. He shifted his vision mode and saw recent footprints, but it was the deck of a ship in front of a bank of turbolifts. There would always be recent footprints. He shifted back to visible light and cautiously stepped out, his carbine up and at the ready as he gestured silently for the other three to follow him. He moved quickly, keeping to the side of the corridor as he headed down what should have been a secured corridor filled with stormtroopers to fight through. Wynnie stayed right behind him, just as tense and quietly surprised in her own way.
Sasha and Kelce moved on the opposite side, keeping their guard up as they weren't sure what was going on and where the opposition was. But Sasha could sense Cien was on this floor, but right as she was about to say something, they reached a T-intersection where a squad of stormies appeared, approaching them.
"Throw down your weapons!" The lead stormtrooper said. Behind them another squad of troopers came up, their E-11s up and aimed as they approached the group cautiously.
Sasha leapt into the intersection and pushed out in both directions with the Force, sending a strong wave of energy at both squads causing the troopers to be thrown off guard and stumbling back, making them open targets. "I don't think so," she said as she straightened up.
Kyr and Wynnie opened fire on the troopers that were in front of them as they were pushed back. Kelce peered around the corner and opened fire at the other squad. Sasha moved towards the troopers that had come up behind them with her saber before her as the troopers started getting up. She quickly swung her saber around and sliced through the closest four, disabling them and their weapons.
The troopers were getting to their feet now, Kyr and Wynnie had picked off a handful, but as they started getting to their feet he tagged them all with his buy'ce and threw out his right arm, sending eight whistling birds looping down the hallway and taking out the rest of the squad that blocked their path.
Kelce picked off a couple troopers that started to stand as Sasha lunged forward and Force pushed two troopers into each other as she swung around and sliced down another one. Kelce managed to peg one more at that moment in the bucket. Sasha then moved around the one Kelce had gotten as he fell and slashed down heavily on the last two. While she had disabled the others or injured them severely, these two were not going to be getting up as their bodies fell to the floor in a dead heap. Quickly flicking her saber to the side, she turned and headed back towards the others in the intersection.
"Nicely done," Kelce complimented as he straightened up.
"Thanks," Sasha said with a curt nod. "Nice shooting."
Wynnie and Kyr both looked back at the dead troopers, two of them from lightsaber slashes. The others were severely disabled for the time being. Kyr pulled his carbine back up to his shoulder as he started down the corridor again, cautiously. "Sash'ika, you okay?" He called out as he was moving, and the rest of his party followed.
"I'm fine," Sasha said, dismissively. "Cien is down this way." She gestured ahead of them. She didn't sound bothered by what she did. She was too focused at the moment to let it bother her.
Kyr glanced at her sidelong as he pushed forward, worried for his sister. But they could deal with that after they got Cien back safe and sound.
As Sasha followed the team down the corridor, heading in the direction of Cien's presence, the forests of Vestora returned again. Sasha saw the trees, the clearing and even the Forerunner. Then back to the corridor. Then she saw the forest again, hearing the birds chirping and sensing a darkness in the Force as if it was about to emerge from the shadows of the trees. And then back to the corridor again. It switched rapidly between the two locations as they kept moving forward and Sasha wasn't sure what was reality or a vision as the two worlds were starting to blur. Kyr kept changing between himself and Oppie. Kelce and Wynnie would appear then disappear as if they weren't even there to begin with. And because the hall kept disappearing, it was becoming increasingly difficult to know where the walls even were. Sasha slowed her pace down so she wouldn't bump into the struts of the corridor. No the trees of Vestora. No, it was the corridor.
Pressing a hand to her eyes, she closed them tightly as she tried to clear her head as that presence was now pounding at her mental walls, trying to tear them down. Her head started to ache as reality and fiction became blurred. She even felt something wet trickle down her face from her nose as she tried to concentrate on Cien's location and block out the visions that were plaguing her. Wiping under her nose, she glanced down to see blood on her hand. Was this real or was she envisioning this too?
"Sasha?" Kyr asked worriedly. Or Oppie.
"I'm fine. I'm fine," Sasha said, waving him off. "We can keep going."
Kyr looked at her, torn between the welfare of his little sister, and being so close to his wife. Sasha saw Oppie looking at her worriedly.
"Sasha, you are not fine," Kelce spoke up, pulling her attention to him and bringing her back into the star destroyer corridor. There was no sign of the forest, and Oppie faded to Kyr in his copper beskar as Kelce looked her in the eyes, worriedly. "Your nose is bleeding and looks like you are about to keel over any second now. Something is going on with you that is causing this. I think it's best if you rest a moment."
"No," Sasha shook her head. "No, we are so close. I can sense it. She is right within reach. I have to keep going," she pleaded with Kelce as she wiped away the blood from her nose, only to smear it across her face.
"Sasha," Kelce tried again, but she didn't listen to him as she pushed past him towards Kyr and the direction they were heading in.
"Sasha," Kyr started as he stepped in her path, holding up a hand but keeping a wary eye in his surrounding vision for any more troopers. "Stay here, you are not well. If we're so close, let me go get her and then we can medevac both of you." He ordered.
Blinking up at him, Sasha stared at his visor for a moment and about ready to protest until she saw her own reflection in his beskar and transparisteel. She saw the blood trickle down her face from her nose. She reached up and wiped at the blood again before looking at her fingers. She swallowed as her vision blurred for a moment from feeling a little dizzy, and realized Kyr was right. Something was wrong with her and if she kept going, it might cause her more problems. She nodded, slowly as she started to tremble slightly.
Kelce walked up beside her and placed a comforting hand on her arm as he guided her over to a bulkhead for cover in case more Imps showed up and ran a scanner over her. He had pulled it out when Kyr had stopped her from passing. The doctor gave Kyr a reassuring nod as he started to tend to Sasha.
"I'm going." Kyr stated. "Wynnie, stay here and protect them. If I need any help Kelce, I'll call." He said as he gave one last worried look to Sasha before he started moving.
Kelce nodded as Kyr took off. He then looked at the scanner, frowning in confusion as no results appeared. "That's odd." He mumbled.
"What is?" Sasha asked, concerned.
He reached into his pocket and handed her a cloth to clean her face with as he belted the scanner. "The scanner says you're fine, but you don't appear to be." He pondered for a moment. "I might want to perform a neural scan on you when we get back just to be sure everything is okay," he said as he grabbed a bacta ampule with his other hand. Sasha took the cloth and started to clean her face. "For now, this will have to suffice." He said as he popped off the cap and jabbed her in the arm with the needle head. He immediately gave her a dose of bacta that she started to notice working its magic. "That's a booster. It should keep you stable for a while. Now let's move and follow Kyr. I don't want to stay here in the open like this longer than we need to."
Sasha nodded in agreement as she finished wiping up her face. "I agree. Thanks, Kelce." She said as she looked at the bloodied rag for a moment before stuffing it into an empty pouch on her belt.
He nodded. "Just take another moment to let the bacta kick in and then we can go."
"Okay," Sasha said as she already started to feel better.
UH OH! REVIEW!
