It had been two weeks since Tobirama's grandfather was emitted to the hospital, in that time Hiruzen the third hokage had done a lot for the young boy, he had given Tobirama a new home he could stay in which was much nicer than it had been before, he had taken all of Tobirama's cloths and had them tailored made to have the Senju clan crest on the back. And he had given him quite some money for a seven year old child. And he had even let Tobirama train in the hokage training ground, although he didn't get a tutor he didn't really need one going to the library to get scrolls for training, nothing that exciting just some advanced chakra training activities, for the past two weeks th young boy had been doing the exact same thing, waking up taking a cold shower to wake him up get dressed, getting changed, going to the hokage's mansion training his kenjutsu and chakra training, after he felt he was getting hungry he would go to a cafe or to his house and get food, after he was done he would go to the hospital to meet his grandfather and stay there till lunch after lunch he would go to the academy and finish the day, the hokage gave him control of if and when he could go to the academy letting all of the teachers know and excusing his absences until further notice. The young Tobirama could be seen walking the streets of Konoha. He had just finished a training session at the Hokage's mansion, just like usual he was hungry, but today he decided to go to a different cafe getting tired of the food he was eating. While walking past his house he saw many different shops this time of day open, many of them being clothes shops, restaurants of all different kinds of variety, a couple of ninja shops that were run by civilians that used to be shinobi or had shinobi in their families. But today nothing looked good. While walking he walked past a flower shop that had two girls yelling at each other inside. One had beautiful long hair and blond hair that looked like a sunflower, she had violet eyes, her eyes seemed to be shining in the sun because of the way she was facing. She wore a purple dress going down to her legs, and wore red shinobi shoes. The girl across from her had long pink hair wearing a red dress, being shorter than the other girls going to her knees, she had a red bow in her hair. The only thing Tobirama could hear was "Stupid ino pig" Before the girl with pink hair ran outside meeting Tobirama's gaze she left faster then she did before. Seeing this Tobirama stood there for a moment before going inside to see the blond-haired girl have a sad expression on her face. Going inside the door opened causing a bell to ring in unison of the door opening. Looking up from the counter she had a smile on her face.
"Hello sir, can I help you with anything today?" She would say this having her eyes closed not realizing who it was.
"Hey, Ino." Opening her eyes she saw the silver haired man seeing him she would smile, even though Tobirama didn't talk to people at the academy besides when he was spoken to, no one in the academy disliked him they just thought he was weird or mysterious getting a little fan club in the class himself.
"Oh, hey Tobirama." Hearing his name he walked to the counter to get closer to Ino before speaking again.
"Is everything okay? I saw you had that fight with Sakura." Hearing this Ino sighed before slouching her head putting her hand in her hands on the desk that kept the two apart.
"No, all she does is talk about Sasuke this and Sasuke that, like she owns the guy. I just wish." Before she finished her sentence she shook her head before standing straight looking at Tobirama seeing a look of annoyance in his face before she could ask about it he smiled at her speaking.
"Well that does sound very annoying, but I'm sure you two can become friends again. Now why I'm here, I wish to get some flowers….. I was thinking of some flowers you would give someone when they're in the hospital, two flower vases, as well as some more flowers for my house and some potting soil… I think that's all I need to be honest with you. This will be my first time having flowers in my house so I don't know what I need, soo if you can think of anything I need to keep the flower's alive let me know." Hearing this she looked at Tobirama who had his eyes closed having his right hand in a thinking pose with his left arm supporting his right, she stood there while Tobirama was thinking to himself, as he opened his eyes he saw a worried look on Ino's face.
"I is that why you don't show up for class anymore?" She said this in a low and quiet town to try and not hurt the young boys feelings by talking too much, all she would get was a nod getting the feeling he didn't want to talk about with her, she gave him a big smile walking around the counter to the nearest flowers to her.
"Well there's a couple of flowers for that purpose, you could always get Orchids. And this vase is a good way to show your love for the person." She held a vase that was square and had a rustic green color with flowers on the side. Seeing this he nodded his head seeing this Ino grabbed the flowers and the vase and walked to the counter before putting the supplies down, as she did she walked to the other side of the room grabbing a white pot with a plant.
"I know you asked for a flower but this plant is super easy to take off, if it's going to be inside then I would water it every three days, if it's outside in the summer water everyday and if it's in the winter don't have it outside." Hearing this Tobirama nodded as he did Ino put the other pot and the flower on the table before going into the back to grab a small bag of soil. As she did she went to the register and rang everything up before speaking again.
"That will be 20,000 Ryo." Hearing this he looked at her confused, seeing the look of confusion on his face she spoke up again. "W well we have a first time special where you get a discount on flowers, plus we're friends from the academy so you also get a friends discount." Hearing this Tobirama got a tad surprised from hearing this.
"(She considers us friends?)" As he thought this he nodded before taking out a wallet that looked like a chameleon taking out the money he sat it down on the ground, Ino would look at the wallet before taking the money and laughing a little. "W whats so funny?" Saying that he had a small blush on his face cus he thought he did something weird, seeing Ino wipe the tear coming out of her eye before speaking again.
"Is your favorite animal a chameleon?" As Tobirama heard this he would look down before looking back up giving her a small smile. "It just…. You're always so quiet…. I was expecting your favorite animal to be something strong like a tiger or something." Hearing this Tobirama would shake his head in a no looking down as he did he would speak up again.
"No…. I love chameleons, when I was younger…. My mother gave this to me, and when I'm out by the river I get reminded of her whenever I see one." Hearing this, Ino would smile before thinking to herself.
"Yeah I see why you would like chameleons so much then." Nodding Tobirama's head he would begin to take the plants and pots as he did he would give a slight bow with all of the plants he held in his arms.
"Have a nice day Ino." As he said this he stood straight again before walking away as he did. Ino waived because the only thing she could have was how weird he was, but she did have to admit.
"(He was nice.)" Tobirama would go back home deciding he would skip breakfast and have a big lunch or big dinner, thinking that he nodded his head heading back home, making his way home the older generation of civilians would wave or ask if he needed help with carrying all of the planting things. But he would always say no or say they don't need to worry about himself. As he entered his home it was similar entrance of his old home but not having chipped paint or routine wood, entering he would set down the plants taking off his shoes as he did he sight before laying on the ground staying there for a while he would close his eyes not wanting to move being tired from the harder training he was giving himself. A few minutes after laying down he would slowly get up before making his way inside. To his right was the living room having one couch and a medium length table in front, there was one window which gave it light having the blinds all the way up, to the left of him was the kitchen it was pretty bland having a stove top, cupboards and a dining room table, walking further inside was two rooms one was the bathroom having a tub, and a sink on the sink was a cup for his toothbrush and toothpaste having a new one, the other room was his bedroom just like the rest of the house it was bland, having a single bed by the window behind the door on the left side of the wall, a desk in front of door and a window up on the wall, once entering the room on your right was a closet having all of Tobirama's cloths, but that was it he didn't need he was used to having the bare minimum in life so he kept most of the money the Hokage gave him only really using it to buy the necessities like food soap, or clothes, brining the plant inside his room he set it on hid because he really didnt use it only using it to do school work, but he knew that plants needed light and water. Seeing this he smiled to himself, unbeknownst to him this day was the day he changed but was it for the better? Or was it for the worse? Well it didn't really matter because at the moment whether Tobirama knew it or not there was a big battle going on at the moment, although not on the battle for the shinobi it was a battle nonetheless it was a battle of wits being in the council in the hokage tower. There were many people sitting at the table all having different expressions on their faces, the council in Konoha was a very prestigious position in the village, all having more power then a lot of people in the village. The council contained 12 shinobi; they were known as the shinobi council while on the other side of the table was the civilian council. The shinobi council was all clan heads being of all different ages, while the civilian council was composed of the most successful people in konoha. While at the head of the table was the Hokage not wearing his hat but he was taking puffs from his pipe, at the other end of the table was an empty spot, each spot at the table had name plates of which clan they were from. On the right of the empty seat was the Uchiha clan one of the founding members of the village, the one that was sitting there was a man known as Fugaku Uchiha he had a annoyed expression on his face, to the right of him was a bigger man from the Achmichi clan, next to him was a woman from the Inazuka clan, next to her was a man that had some similarities to Ino from the Yamanaka clan, on the right of him was from the Nara clan and the last major head was a man known as the Hyuga clan.
"I hope your health is doing well, Hokage-sama. Why have you called us here?" the man from the Huygan clan asked this as he did the hokage would speak up.
"As you all are aware of the massacre of the Senju clan." He stopped talking to let the tension rise, a strategic tactic used by many in the room, taking another puff from his pipe he spoke up again.
"I would like to hear what clan techniques and scrolls we were able to collect." As the council heard this one of the Anbu stationed around the room spoke up.
"We were able to recover two scrolls from the Nindime, we haven't been able to look because of the clan seal on the inside, and we found the second hokage's scrolls as well." The anbu captain would go back to the wall.
"Why are you asking about this hokage?" The man from the nara clan would ask this. Getting nods of agreement from the other clan heads as well as some of the other civilian's
"Just like many of the shinobi council, one of the last remaining Senju is still alive." Hearing this a lot of the people there got surprised from hearing this.
"A boy in the academy, and his grandfather are still alive. I wish to give him his clan scrolls." As he said this many of the people there now understand why they were called. After the Kyuubi incident the village was in shambles causing the Hokage to make some questionable decisions to make money, one of those questionable decisions was letting the other councils members have much more power then any of the council had before, now the only time the third hokage could make decisions by himself was during a war, but other then that he needed the council's approval. A man that had a cane black hair and bandages around his eye spoke up hearing the news
"How old is the boy Hruzen?" Hearing this he took another puff from his pipe before responding to the old goat in the corner.
"He is seven…. But just like many of the shinobi clans their children are already learning some of their tenchins." As he said this the Huyga, Nara, Achemichi, and the Aburama clan nodded their heads.
"I would like to take it to a vote to give him the scrolls. All those in favor." As he finished talking, many of the people there raised their hands, definitely more than half of the people there, but many of the civilians didn't like this because it was just another boy who would become stronger than their children.
"It seems that those in favor have won this debate." As he said this many of the people would nod their heads while some looked annoyed.
"This was not the only reason why I called you here." As he said this he paused once again taking another puff from his pipe.
" As you all are aware I have gotten old….. And as this reason and many others I would
like to begin to choose my successor. Neither of my students are willing to take this hat from me as well." Hearing this many of the civilian council got surprised while the shinobi council was surprised they also knew he wasn't going to get any younger as he said this the Nara head spoke up.
" I would like to suggest something, Hokage." Hearing this Hiruzen simply nodded before speaking up once again. "I believe that the hokage should be someone younger, so they can gain experience in office, as well as a strong mind, and they obviously need to have the power to back up the name Hokage, this is why I nominate Hatae Kakashi." Hearing this got the attention of the members in the council at that moment. But none said anything, all wanting to know what the Hokage thought.
"Hmmmm you are right, after all lord forth was only 20 when he was in the office." As he said this the older man in the corner spoke up.
"You can't be serious Hiruzen, that boy cant." Before he could say anymore Hiruzen would interrupt him.
"Donzo, I should remind you who you are talking to." As he said this he took a puff from his pipe as he did and began to talk once again."Does anyone else want to nominate someone?" As he said this the head of the Uchiha clan spoke up with as much respect he could muster in his voice.
"I would like to nominate Itachi Uchiha….. But I know how many of you feel ill will towards the Uchiha clan especially if my son became a hokage, I suggest Shisui Uchiha." Hearing this an uproar began to happen, many of the people yelling at Fugaku saying he was insane if he thought he could do this while many of the shinobi council stayed silent, as did Fugaku even though his rage was beginning to boil once again.
"Shisui or Itachi hmmm…. I do have to say Fugaku, they both are very young. Itachi being only 14 and Shisui being 16….. I would say we should put Itachi in the running but I believe 14 is too young even though he is a very powerful shinobi as well as having a very intelligent mind, even being smarter than some people in this room today. I believe Shisui is a good candidate for Hokage." As he said this many of the people on the council got into an uproar louder than before. "SILENCE….. I have made my decision upon this matter. If you would like to nominate one more candidate then please do." As he said this many of the civilian council wanted to leave because of how scared they were. Hearing what the Hokage said made the Uchiha clan head smile even though nobody saw him he felt happy for once in these council meetings.
"I think I should be in the." Before Danzo could finish speaking Hiruzen spoke over him.
"I said I wanted the hokage to be young to learn from his mistakes and to get stronger with the village, not be an old fossil like you and me old friend." Hearing this Danzo got pissed on the inside but on the outside he nodded his head.
"Until the meeting with the Dimayo in a few months no one shall tell a soul about what we talked about, if I found out you have told anyone then you shall be thrown into prison." As he said this he walked out snapping his finger going to his office as he did two anbu appeared beside him.
"I want you to give me the scrolls from the Senju clan….. And I want you to get an anbu guard for Shisui Uchiha until he is nominated for Kage." Hearing this both anbu nodded their heads as they did and disappeared. Walking into Hiruzenz office he sat down looking over the village.
"(I have done enough for this village… And I've made far too many mistakes, it's time to pass on the torch to the next candidate's.)" Thinking this he felt a presence enter the room, as he did he turned the chair to the person kneeling down on the ground, seeing it was the same anbu from before.
"Ox the scrolls please." Hearing this the anbu that had the Ox mask on stood up before handing one scroll down to the table as he did he made his hand into a half ram seal as he did four scrolls poofed from the original scroll, seeing this he nodded before doing the same half ram seal in doing so the scrolls went back into the sealing.
"Get me Shisui Uchiha." Hearing this, Ox nodded before disappearing, coming back five minutes later with Shisui in anbu clothes. "Dismissed Ox." Hearing this he nodded his head disappearing once again leaving the man named Shisui with a bird mask on, he had the normal anbu clothes and he had pitch black hair. "Shisui….. You are being dismissed from your duties for anbu." Hearing this Shisui didn't say anything, only wondering why. "I am giving you a student, that you must train until further notice." Hearing this Shisui nodded, taking off his mask while still looking down. "We shall go introduce you now and go give him his scrolls." Hearing this made Shisui look up as he did. You could see his refined jawline, a small cut on his cheek and his brown eyes. Standing up he followed the hokage.
"If you don't mind me asking Hokage-sama, why this sudden change and who is my new student going to be?" Hearing this Hiruzen answered.
"Everything will be revealed with time my young boy, and for the young boy you will be training it will be Tobirama Senju."
