This chapter begins ten days after SpykeCam and before the survival of the fittest episodes.
Jacob's pov
I was in the big apple New York City. Yeah, I know I was here when we recruited Evan, but I decided to go in alone, and the professor allowed me to go since it was a Saturday.
Yeah, I could've brought the others, but they couldn't because of late homework while Kitty handed me a picture of a superhero called Spider-Man telling me to get his autograph.
Kitty even gave me the puppy dog eyes. Why I'm always weak to her puppy dog eyes was Evan, right? Was I jealous when Kitty flirted with Jason? Does this mean I have a crush on Kitty?
I shrug my head of the thought we are just friends, nothing more.
I also wanted to meet Spider-Man, but my reason was different from Kitty's request since, from what Xavier told me , there could be others out there with different abilities from other Titans so after Kitty asked me to get the autograph from Spider-Man I looked him up then I remembered a Titan that has similar sipder powers as Spider-Man, the Titanus Kumonga a spider like Titan.
Then I saw some guy on the screen of a building, and he was J. Jonah Jameson is telling people how much of a menace Spider-Man is.
"I swear this guy needs to take a chill pill or get hit with a brick." I thought.
Then I heard an explosion, and I started running towards it , and I saw the person I was looking for Spider-Man as he was battling a man with four long robotic arms.
"Well, I found him." I said.
No One's Pov.
Jacob saw Spider-Man fighting Doc Ock, but he was battling the Sinister Six, The Sandman, Mysterio, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, and The Lizard
"He's gonna need help. Lucky for me, I brought my uniform on this trip, but I can't let anyone see my X belt or my identity. The Professor will kill me." Jacob thought for a moment.
Then he saw a Halloween store and idea came into his head.
Back at the X Mansion Kitty was done with her homework and now was writing in her diary about Jacob and her thoughts on his struggles she was frightened by his appearance at first but as she got to know him more she saw the good, funny, and kind side of Jake.
"Are you writing about you're obsessed with Jacob?" Rogue asked.
"I'm not obsessed!" Argued Kitty strongly then hid her diary in her small dresser next to her bed.
But Rogue pointed to the front of her notebook that had doodles of 'J x K' on the front in a love heart. Kitty's face turned bright red as Rogue fished out of her book from the top of her dresser and smiled.
"Then, J X K is Jacob X Kurt, right? Or is it -" Rogue started to say, but Kitty cut her off.
"I-It's like none of your business what it is!" Kitty pulled away her book so she couldn't see it. "I-It's just because...wait, why are you bothered if it is me and Jacob, huh? Have you got a thing for Jacob?"
"M-Me? A thing for him?" Rogue asked.
Rogue looked like a deer caught in headlights, Kitty knew that she looked all too well and couldn't say that she liked it exactly.
"Yeah, you like him, don't you?" Kitty asked.
"No, don't be stupid. Besides, he doesn't even see me like that anyway. He sees you more like that than me." Rogue retorted.
Kitty recoiled with her face flashing through several shades of red.
"W-What are you saying...?" Kitty asked as she didn't want to admit it... No, she didn't know what to say about it.
She knew that she looked at him more differently than the others, yet she didn't truly understand her own feelings, and now hearing that he might have something for her. It felt weird yet right at the same time. It was hard to discern how she really felt.
"Well, it's obvious. He looks at you the most. He speaks with you the most, and he protects you the most. When we fought Sabretooth, remember? He was concerned more about your safety than anyone else's even his own and wouldn't allow anything to happen to you. It's obvious he's got the hots for you. We all know that he does, and you do as well. You two are just so oblivious to one another that it is almost depressing." Rogue explained.
Kitty didn't know what to say as a response. She was thrilled and worried at the same time. She was thrilled because it meant that maybe they could become...something more than they are now. She was also worried that if he didn't, and she got her hopes up, it would be devastating.
Back in New York, Jacob rushed into the Halloween store, and he got a domino mask and a superhero belt . He left two twenty dollar bills at the checkout and went to an alleyway to change.
Spider-man's Pov
Great, I was hoping just to get a picture of me kicking Doc Ock's, for the Daily Bugle one thing I didn't count on was an appearance from the Sinister Six, my least favorite super villain team.
Then my Spider scene kicked in, and I saw the Lizard's tail. I managed to dodge it, and then it kicked again, and I got caught by one of Ock's robotic arms wrapping around my left leg.
"Any last word, Spider-Man?" Doc Ock asked.
"Yeah, you need a breath mint." I answered.
"Stupid fool." Doc Ock said.
Then a roar was heard, and they, including myself, looked and saw a mailbox coming in, hitting Electro in the face.
"Hey idiots." A voice called out.
We looked up to see a boy around my age in a black tail style jacket with long sleeves with open hem cuffs a black short sleeve shirt with a brown chest holster and brown belt around his black pants and wearing black high boots.
He had black hair, and he was wearing a domino mask, so we didn't see who he was.
"Let Spider-Man go or else." the boy said.
"Or what?" Doc Ock asked.
"Or I beat the ever living crap outta you all." The boy replied.
"Lizard deal with our new guest." Doc Ock ordered.
The Lizard charges at the boy, then tackles the boy to the ground and roars into his face.
Then the boy punched The Lizard off of him sending him into a car and with the other's distracted I fired a web at Ock's face which caused him to let go of me then I back flip next to the boy.
"Hey Kid, you alright?" I asked.
Then the boy got on his feet, then I saw some kind of reptile-like tail coming out as did some dorsal plates on his tail and back appeared and he grew gills on his neck and had reptile-like claws on his fingertips.
Then he let out a roar as if he was changing the Sinister Six.
"Ok, Spidey and Lizard boy versus the Sinister Six. What can go wrong?" I asked myself.
No One's Pov
Doc Ock and the Sinister Six face off against Spider-Man and Dagon.
The Lizard got up from the car and ran at Dagon, and Dagon did the same as the two collided with one another as The Sandman came to The Lizard's aid as he buried Dagon in sand as Spider-Man shoot webbing at Sandman then Dagon mange to dig himself out the sand then he charged up with his dorsal plates glowing blue along with his eyes and fired his atomic breath at the Sandman knocking him back as Dagon turned his attention back to the Lizard as the two fought like well lizards over a kill.
As that was going on, Spider-Man fought both Kraven and Mysterio.
Kraven then grabs Spider-Man in a bear hug, squeezing the life out of him.
"Fool, no prey escapes, Kraven." Kraven said.
"Guess the great hunter didn't want to take me on alone this time." Spider-Man retorted
"The way of the jungle the pack wears the prey down for alpha male to crush." Kraven replied.
Spider-Man then Webb Kraven in the face, and he mange to break free as Electro shot electricity at Dagon, who roar out in pain.
Then Dagon threw the Lizard at Electro, knocking them both out.
Then Spider-Man came face to face with Mysterio, who appeared in a cloud of green mist.
"A bit too soon to gloat Spider-Man." Mysterio said.
"Well, you are the expert on premature glow alation." Spider-Man said.
"We shall see." Mysterio replied.
Then Kraven got tackled by Dagon, and he was thrown into a car.
"You call yourself an alpha male? What a joke." Dagon said.
"Who are you to judge me, boy?" Kraven asked.
"Someone who has the powers of an ancient alpha predator and unlike you I don't hunt for sport or the thrill." Dagon answered.
"Bold words from a boy about to die." Kraven said as he pulled out two knives ready to fight.
Mysterio casted a spell, and then he opened his cape, unleashing five demon creatures on Spider-Man.
"Seriously, you need new tricks, Mysterio." Spider-Man said.
Spider-Man then web two of the demons and started wiping them around, destroying the other' demons, which were actually robots.
He then threw the remaining two at Mysterio, who then vanished.
Then he appeared at the top of the building right below Spider-Man.
Spider-Man then web up their and he saw Mysterio back on the street and discovered the Mysterio he went after was actually a robot ready to self-destruct.
"Oh, Fudge." Spider-Man said, then he web the bot and threw it up in the air high enough so it wouldn't come back to the ground, then it explodes. "Mysterio, I'm using that stupid fishbowl of yours as a snow globe."
"Not if you can't find me." Mysterio replied, disappearing in a cloud of green mist.
Spider-Man shot a large web to trap Mysterio, and once he got him, he went down, ripped the web off and removed Mysterio's gloves, and cracked open his helmet, revealing the man behind Mysterio Quentin Beck.
"Whoa, easy there, hero." Quentin said.
The Spider-Man pinch Quentin's cheek.
"Ouch." Quentin said.
"Yeah, just making sure you're not a bot." Spider-Man explained.
"I'm not." Quentin replied
Then Spider-Man punched Quentin in the face, knocking him out as he left him wrapped up in spider web up so he couldn't escape as he then went over two the same to Sandman and the Lizard
Spider-Man then went after Doc Ock, who was on the roof of a building watching the whole fight.
"You know, Ock, you really need to be a team player or a better coach." Spider-Man said. "Look, Doc, did you think this through the next Spider-Man who finds you under a pile of debris might view as a cautionary tale."
Then Spider-Man's Spidey scene kicked as Dock Ock grabbed Spider-Man by his leg with one of his robotic arms and smashed him down to the ground all over the place.
"Glib does not equate with clever Spider-Man." Doc Ock said.
"Yeah, well, the ratio of arms to sanity hasn't exactly been established either." Spider-Man retorted.
"Do you ever shut up?" Doc Ock asked.
"Sorry, no." Spider-Man answered."My fans expect a certain amount of quippage in every battle."
Meanwhile, Dagon and Kraven continue to fight with Dagon, barely dodging Kraven's knives.
"You are a fast one boy but not as fast as Kraven." Kraven said.
"You must have a black belt in stupid if you think you're gonna beat me." Dagon replied.
The Kraven struck Dagon with his knives, but he dodged the attack, and then he hit Kraven with his tail knocking him down, causing Kraven to drop his knives.
Then Kraven got back up and jumped on Dagon's back, putting him into a choke hold.
Dagon slams his back into a nearby building, but it is no use as Kraven has a strong grip, and he isn't letting go.
"Now be still little one. The noblest prey ends the hunt in silent dignity." Kraven said.
Dagon then bites into Kraven's right arm, drawing blood, then he pulls Kraven off of him by using his teeth and mouth.
Kraven looked over his wounds and saw his right forearm was bleeding, and he looked at Dagon.
"Amazing, only one other beast has ever broken the grip of Kraven, and that is Spider-Man and now you."
"I am no one's prey, I am an alpha predator." Dagon said, then roaring at Kraven.
"Always, Kraven tempers his skills to give his quarry a chance.At last, Kraven can be Kraven... and thrill to a true challenge." Kraven said as he pulled out a boomerang and threw it, but Dagon caught it with his teeth destroying it.
Then his dorsal plates started glowing blue along with his eyes, and he fired his atomic breath at Kraven, knocking him into a building. Once he was done, he saw Kraven was knocked out.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man and Doc Ock were fighting on the rooftops
"Come on, doc, you're a cephalopod, I'm an arthropod. Can't we just hug it out?" Spider-Man asked.
Then Doc grabbed an air conditioner from the side of the building and threw it at Spidey, hitting him and knocking him down and he grabbed Spider-man's right leg with one of his robotic arms and slammed him down to the ground pinning him down.
"Now Arachnid." Doc Ock said. "Any last words?"
Before Spider-Man could answer, they heard grunting the sounds of someone stabbing into the side of the building, and Dagon appeared, having climbed the side of the building.
"Yeah, I got some last words for you, screw you asshole." Dagon said.
"Your anatomy intrigues me, boy. I will gladly research it once I'm done dissecting your corpse." Doc Ock replied.
Then Doc Ock slammed Dagon to the ground with one of his robotic arms but Dagon then blasts the arm off then Doc looked at him giving Spider-Man the opportunity he need to shot Ock with some web to his face blinding him then Dagon blast him with his atomic breath knocking Doc Ock off the roof and landing back first onto a car knocked out.
Dagon let out a roar of victory as the police arrived and arrested the Sinister Six then Spider-Man shot a web and started swinging away then Jacob then realized he need his autograph but got distracted by the battle and now he had to start from starch again but luckily he got his scent and he got off the roof and ran to his motorcycle and got on and put on his helmet and took off after the web crawler.
Kitty's pov
I was on the couch in the living room reading a book, which was ironically Beauty and the Beast, and I was thinking hard at what Rogue had said
I was still thrilled and worried at the same time.
I was thrilled because it meant that maybe we could become...something more than friends.
But worried that if he didn't, and I got her hopes up, it would be devastating, and it might affect our friendship.
I knew Jake could look and behave like a destructive force and animal heck maybe a monster at times especially during his fights and at training sessions even I was afraid of him at first just like I was with Kurt but I looked into his eyes we all have he is much more than that he knows what he's doing plus once I got to know him he is probably the nicest and most kind person I have ever met just how Beauty felt with the Beast.
I was thinking how I was going to tell him about my feelings towards him, but I decided to wait on it till he got back from New York City.
I was soon joined by Evan and Jean, who sat on the television, then the news came on, and we saw what looked like a small war zone.
"Breaking News from lower Manhattan this afternoon as Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus engage in a battle but Spider-Man was quickly outnumbered when backup came to Doctor Octopus aid in the form of his teammates in the Sinister Six The Sandman, Mysterio, The Lizard, Kraven the Hunter, and Electro. He was able to counter a tail swing from the Lizard but Spider-Man was caught by one of Doctor Octopus's robotic arms wrapping around him with the odds stacked against New York Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man help came in unexpected ally a strange boy in a boy around fifteen years old in a black tail style jacket with long sleeves with open hem cuffs a black short sleeve shirt with a brown chest holster and brown belt around his black pants and wearing black high boots. He had black hair, and he was wearing a domino mask. He also had a reptile-like tail, and he had some kind of dorsal plates on his tail and back and had gills on his neck and reptile-like claws on his fingertips." The reporter said.
When I heard that, I looked at the TV and saw Jacob in a domino mask teaming up with Spider-Man and battling with the Sinister Six.
"With the help of this stranger, Spider-Man managed to overcome The Sinister Six, who are all in police custody as of this time, and the identity of this mysterious stranger remains unknown back to you Josh." The reporter said, and then Evan turned off the television set.
"Well Professor X isn't gonna like this." Evan said, which Jean and I nodded because Professor X told us we can use our powers out in the open.
No One's Pov
The X-Men weren't the only ones that watched that news broadcast, apparently the one of Spider-man's most dangerous enemies. The Green Goblin had also viewed the broadcast.
"Well we got a shiny new toy." The Green Goblin said with a smirk on his face.
Elsewhere Venom was watching the news, then he licked the television that showed Jacob imagining what his brain tasted like.
Jacob's pov
It was already dark when I finally got Spider-man's scent, and now I was at Coney Island.
"Jacob, we need to talk." Professor Xavier's voice entered my head.
"Charles, is this about what happened this afternoon?" I asked.
"Yes you know that you shouldn't use your powers out in the open." Professor X answered.
"Lives were in dange, Professor. I did what you taught us to help others, and Spider-Man would have been squashed if I hadn't gotten involved." I explained.
"That may be, but be more careful next time you want to play a solo hero. We were lucky you had on a mask, but the next time, you might not have it, so be careful, please." Professor X said.
"Alright Professor, I'll be more careful next time, and I'll be back soon." I said.
I got off my bike and started looking around the place for Spider-Man.
I saw families and couples having a good time, but I felt sad because I felt my family would have fun here if I could ever remember them.
I also think about Kitty and I having fun here like a couple but shook my head at the thought of it we're just friends, nothing more.
Then I picked up his scent. I turned my head and I saw a group of teenagers.
The first was a sixteen year old caucasian teenage boy of average height of 5′10 with a lean frame, sporting muscular and well-defined build, He has brown hair parted in the middle with long bangs on the sides and blue eyes. He was also wearing a white shirt underneath either his light blue button-down shirt, with brown pants and black sneakers
The other was a fourteen year old 5 '8 African American boy with near-short dark brown hair with a slight fade and brown eyes. He wears a black hoodie with a black t-shirt underneath and gray pants with blue sneakers.
There was also a 5' 8 sixteen year old caucasian slender red-headed girl with green eyes and red lipstick, She wears a black leather jacket over a pink hoodie and a white t-shirt keeping them tucked into her medium blue colored jeans with which she wears a large brown belt.
The other was a sixteen 5' 7" sixteen year old caucasian teenage male and has auburn hair. He wears a black vest over an untucked white shirt with gray pants and a light brown vest.
The second one was a 5' 5" fifteen year old teenage girl with fair skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair with face framing bangs and dyed in a pink at the end. She has a slender athletic build. She was wearing a white shoulderless crop top with pink lining and a spider shaped graphic on the front, black short shorts with a matching belt that has a silver buckle along with a pink flannel shirt tied around her waist and black knee-high boots. Around her neck is a black choker necklace with an arrow pendant and a friendship bracelet on her left wrist.
Then I saw another teenage girl, perhaps fifteen at a height of 5' 3" with brown hair and brown eyes, who is also Latina. Her attire consists of a blue shirt with a light blue star on the chest and a blue stripe on her right arm with a gray bracelet, pale green pants, and shoes.
I then smelled the air, and the scent was coming from the 5 '10 boy, so he must be Spider-Man.
I was about to walk up to them, and then another group of teenagers walked up to them.
I saw a 5' 9" sixteen year old Hispanic girl with tan skin, brown eyes, and brown hair. Her attire consists of a light yellow shirt with a pink necktie along with a matching bag and skirt.
And l saw another sixteen year old girl with fair-skin, violet color eyes and blond hair, and she was 5' 7' ' she was also wearing a blue shirt, jeans, and black and white tennis shoes.
Then he saw two boys with them. The first was a 6'0" African American boy with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a green and white varsity jacket and red shirt along with a green baseball cap, and he was also wearing light gray cargo shorts and red and white tennis shoes.
The second one was a young Caucasian teenage boy at a height of 6' 2", with a muscular build, blond hair, and green eyes. He wears his school's football green and white varsity jacket with a Spider-Man shirt underneath tucked inside his light blue pants and a black belt with a bronze clasp.
They were teasing the guy with brown hair, so I decided to step in.
"Hey back off." I said.
"And what are you gonna do about it?" The blonde boy asked.
"How about I kick your ass right here and now because I smell fear from you, fanboy?" I said in anger.
"Easy there, Flash, and you too, umm." The Latin American teenage girl asked.
"Names Jacob Kirby. I'm on vacation. I am also looking for Spider-Man." I said.
"What do you want with Spidey?" Flash asked.
"That's my business jock by the way. Given the fact you're from Midtown High, I hope Bayville crushes you guys next week in the big football game." I said, and it got Flash angry.
Flash went to punch me, but I caught his fist and threw him over my shoulders and onto the ground.
"Now you guys leave now." I said as I growl.
The bullies took off and turned around to see the brown hair kid.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks, name's Peter Parker." Peter said."And those are my friends Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy, Miles Morales, Anya Corazon, and Mary Jane Watson."
"Nice to meet you." I said.
"So what is it you want with Spider-Man if you don't mind us asking?" Mary Jane asked.
"Well, since you asked nicely, unlike dipshit back there, I'm here on an important mission. I'm here to get his autograph for my friend." I explained.
"Is it a girl?" Gwen asked, and I nodded
"Really? She must be a very special friend." Anya said.
"Yeah, almost like she is probably your girlfriend." Harry added while I just gave him a glare.
"Or maybe not you guys are just friends." Miles said.
Then I sniffed the air, and I saw Peter, Gwen, Miles, and Anya had a worried look on their faces.
"Get down!" I yelled as I pushed Peter and Gwen out of the way as a pumpkin like bomb blew up in my face.
"Jacob, are you ok?" MJ asked as I saw the rest of them check on me. I held out my hand.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Where are Peter and the others." I asked.
"Peter took off along with Gwen, Miles, and Anya while Harry went to get help.
"Well, I'm gonna find that emo bomberman and beat the ever living shit out of him." I said.
"Jacob, stop." MJ said, but I ignored her.
No One's Pov.
Jacob then got changed into his uniform and had on his domino he then saw Spider-Man along with Ghost Sider, Kid Arachnid, and Spider Girl, and they were fighting the Green Goblin.
"So that's the dumbass who tried to blow me up." Dagon thought.
But Dagon sniffed the air, and he was hit by black webs and hit a wall.
"Well, well lucky day a brain for us to feed on." A voice as Dagon came face to face with Venom.
"You eat brains that's gross, dude. You should go on a diet." Dagon joked.
Then he broke through the strong webs and grabbed Venom by his throat and tossed him aside.
Then Dagon swung his tail at Venom, who then dodged out the way and fired webs at Dagon, who then fired his atomic breath at Venom, blasting through into a merry-go-round then he saw The Green Goblin who was on his glider was fighting Spider-Man, Ghost Sider, Kid Arachnid, and Spider Girl.
So Dagon, who at this point had enough of this crap decided to end the fight, so he then blasts Green Goblin's glider out of the sky right at Dagon's feet.
"Well, if it isn't the new kid on the block." The Green Goblin said.
Yeah, and you're the son of a bitch who threw a bomb in my face so I think your face needs an introduction to my fist." Dagon said as he punched Green Goblin in the face sending him flying into the Oscorp building.
"Wow, nice punch." Spider-Man said as he and the other Spiders came up to him. "Sorry I didn't get your name."
"Dagon." Dagon introduced himself.
"Okay. So I heard you want my autograph for a friend of yours." Spider-Man said
"Yes, her name is Kitty Pryde." Dagon said as he handed him the photo and pen.
Spider-Man signed the photo and then handed it back to Dagon.
"I have some questions." Dagon said.
"Okay." Spider-Man replied.
"You're powers. Where did they come from? Did they come from Titanus Kumonga?" Dagon asked.
"Well, no, we all got bite by radioactive spider." Ghost Spider answered.
"I see well, thank you." Dagon said, then he headed for the edge, then he dice into the water and started swimming back to Bayville.
