Extras: Deleted Scenes and some other moments that happened after the story but before the Great Dragon attacks Camelot.

1st Alternative Deleted Scene Originally I wanted to switch things up and have Morgana care for Merlin's arm instead of Arthur, but then I just sped through that part and had Arthur do it. The scene would have been as follows:

While in the armory, Merlin and Morgana had just escaped a knight of Medhir. During the encounter Merlin wounded his arm and Morgana still managed to take one of the knights swords.

Morgana and Merlin had just finished barricading themselves in the armory when the seer spot the cut on Merlin sleeve covered with with blood. She grabs his arm, albeit a bit harshly before loosening her grip.

"What happened to your arm?"
"Oh, I must have caught in on something…" Merlin trails off pulling up his sleeve. The cut didn't seem deep.
"Let me see." Morgana said getting a closer look. Without thinking she reaches down to her dress and tears part of the material off.

"Here. Take this."

Merlin in awe and guilt takes the make shift bandage and motions for her to help.

"Thank you. You didn't have to do that. Your dress is ruined now."

"Don't mention it." Morgana said and at his look of admiration tried to move past it, "Don't worry. I can have it mended."

The two smiled at one another oblivious to the outside world.

How could she become so full of hate. An enemy of Camelot when she has such kindness. Merlin looked down at his bag a heavy weight in his chest and his throat immensely dry. In what world was she the villain when he was ready to condemn her to an early grave. Where in his destiny did it say he would be murderer.

1st actual deleted scene that didn't make the cut.

This is a short scene I really liked and thought would provide some comedic relief of sorts. I could probably make this scene a whole thing, but I like the ambiguity. Also at the end the tension was a bit too much and I didn't want to cheapen the scene with a joke. This is an Uther/Arthur father and son scene that would take place after Morgause stopped the knights of Medhir from attacking them once Morgana asked her. And the scene would have gone as followed:

The knights of Medhir had suddenly collapsed onto the ground. The sound of their armor echoing one after the other in a clatter metal against concrete.

Arthur could feel his inner rage still boiling through, but he didn't have time to tear his father a new one. He had to go and make sure everyone else was okay and that the spell was finally over or if the witch was still in Camelot.

"Son, I'm-"

"How did you get here?" Arthur cuts him off. He was supposed to be with Merlin and Morgana. Where the hell where they?!

"I walked?" Uther looked at him incredulously, before letting him know how he woke up in the middle of the tunnels behind the armory.

I also considered having a scene of a few characters reuniting after the sleeping spell. The first part is a Morgana/Gwen having a friends reunion and the second a Merlin/Gaius father-son reunion. Both are short and (bitter-)sweet. As before the scene would have gone as:

MorganaandGwen

Morgana had just let herself into her chambers after having been interrogated by Arthur and the King. All things considered, she thinks her and Merlin had a plausible story for why they abandoned the king in the middle of the tunnels while a homicidal sorceress was out for Pendragon blood. She was also a bit impressed and surprised at just how easily Merlin lied to both Arthur and the King. It shouldn't really considering he had lied for her before, but seeing it in action… There was a sickening simplicity to his lies that if she didn't know Merlin better, it would make her doubt his true intentions.

"Milady?"

"Gwen!" Morgana called out in glee as she watched her servant and faithful friend enter. The two embraced one another, the king's ward holding on a bit tighter than necessary. "You had me so worried."

"I'm sorry." Gwen mumbled into her shoulder.

"It's not your fault, but please never do that again." Morgana pulled away taking her friend in. "Where did you go? Did you just wake up or?"

Gwen shook her head, "I woke up a while ago… in your bed. Something tells me that was your doing." Morgana nodded telling the servant how when she collapsed Morgana called the guards for help.

"Thank you for that. Anyways I was going to find you, but Leon told me that you were speaking to the king, so I stayed with him. He told me everything I missed. I can't believe Morgause tried to take over Camelot and put everyone to sleep! Thank goodness for Arthur. He scared her off apparently at least that's what the other knights are saying…"

The king's ward couldn't help, but smile and nod even though she felt so wrong for keeping the truth from her friend. After everything that happened she wished she could tell her the truth. Gwen would understand her. She more than anyone would.

"... I don't know what story is true or not, hopefully you can tell me what happened. And well things ended for the best. We're all safe and that horrible magic is gone. Sometimes I wish magic didn't exist, as much as the king is prejudiced, he does seem to have a point on how evil and harmful it can be."

Morgana swallowed the truth, her eyes tearing up, "Yeah totally."

Gwen looked at Morgana again and her eyes welled up, "Oh I'm so sorry Morgana, you more than anyone don't need to hear this especially after what you've been through. The maidservant pulled her mistress back into her arms. As much as Morgana protected her she had to make sure to protect her back. Camelot had so many enemies and she would not allow her friend to get caught in the crossfire again.

MerlinandGaius

Gaius took everything Merlin had recounted and groaned putting his head in his hands. Hunith would definitely be sending a letter berating him again. It wasn't his fault Merlin had a tendency to be put in harms way. Or better said place himself in harms way.

The physician look at his ward taking in his exhaustion and sighed rising softly and moving to pick up the empty dinner plates. "I can take care of these. Go have some rest. Something tells me you will need it."

Merlin nodded rising moving towards his room. He paused at the door way, "Gaius, thank you for taking care of me. I couldn't have helped Morgana if it was not for your draught. Anyways I should…" Merlin motioned towards his room muttering a goodnight not seeing the proud glint in his guardian's eyes.

This is the final deleted scene of how Merlin and Morgana talked their way out of how they abandoned the king and where they went to Uther and Arthur. Thank you all who are still here even after the story has been complete for a while now. Enjoy the final scene:

The king and crowned prince looked at the king's ward and prince's manservant waiting for their response. Arthur had told the king that he left him under Morgana's care and then both herself and Arthur's servant ended up abandoning him in one of the secret tunnels heading out of Camelot.

"My king, you must know that Merlin and I didn't abandon you. We hid you most securely in the tunnels where we knew Morgause would never get to you." Morgana said trying her best to sound wholesome and apologetic. "I can't imagine how you must have felt waking up all alone, and I apologize. It was my idea, Merlin went along with my order. You see we couldn't leave Arthur behind to fight on his own. He was sure to die against all those knights."

Uther nodded in assent and raised his arm up slightly for her to stop her explanation. He turned to the boy, "Is that so? Did you two hide me in the tunnels because the Lady Morgana ordered?"

The boy looked away slightly towards his ward before nodding. He cleared his throat slightly, "Yes, Milord. Mo- The Lady Morgana and I discovered that Morgause must have enchanted some object to cause all of Camelot to fall asleep. We had to find it and destroy it to break the curse."

Arthur turned to Morgana inquisitively, "And how exactly did you figure that out?"

Morgana looked to Merlin, who in turn cleared his throat again, "I can explain that Arthur."

"Well get on with it boy." The king motioned for him to continue.

"He was about to father." Arthur bit out also motioning for Merlin to continue. Merlin glanced towards the two. He would definitely have to ask what that was about later. "Well as you know, when we arrived back in Camelot we both split up and I went to find Gaius while you went looking for your father."

Merlin paused allowing Arthur or Uther the chance to intervene. When they didn't he continued. "While at Gaius' I found a note. It told me about the drafts he made that we took so we wouldn't fall asleep… but he also wrote about how Morgause would only have been able to cause a sleeping spell of that magnitude if she enchanted an object and placed it in Camelot. He had his suspicions about where that object might be so when we were in the armory I told Morgana and she decided we had to try and leave the king behind. I wanted to set out alone to try and destroy the object so she could remain in the tunnels safely with your father, but well she insisted."

"I couldn't let him go alone, he could barely even hold onto a sword."

Merlin rolled his eyes at her intervention and the fact that Arthur nodded in agreement.

"Right of course." Merlin grunted.

Uther shook his head at the three, "And what exactly was this object. And better yet where was it?"

The boy paused motioning towards Morgana who stopped giggling with Arthur and turned to the king.

"It was in the caves under Camelot." Morgana said trying not to smirk, "The cave tunnels that lead to the water reservoir, I mean. We thought- Merlin and I that is that the object must be somewhere that won't be easily found. We also thought back to when the witch Nimue poisoned the water. It's inconspicuous enough and Merlin said that both the witch and Morgause were high priestess' of the old religion so they must have similar hiding spots."

"That's brilliant, Morgana!" The prince praised.

"Indeed, my dear. What exactly did the witch enchant in the reservoir?" The king asked.

Morgana motioned to Merlin who picked up the story, if the king and prince noticed just how smooth the two picked up after the other they made sure to ignore it.

"It was a ring. A ruby ring with a golden band and Celtic symbols around it. We burned it and melted it down. The minute it was in the flames it emitted a black evil smoke and a screech as if the devil himself was screaming." Merlin said this o so seriously trying not to smile and hoping Morgana wouldn't laugh.

The ward had to bite the inside of her cheek to avoid cheering in glee at the pure genius and the fact that both Uther and Arthur were buying it without question!

She turned towards the duo and nodded, "It was terrifying, but it had to be done. We headed back soon after and found several people already waking. We also heard about your victory and how you defeated the knights and the witch."
