Chapter 26- kidnapped by ravens and crows!
Meanwhile, inside the garage
Ahsoka, after recovering from her tears from her argument with Orion, gazed at Eva as she lulled some of her 25 chicks to sleep. Nearby, Carla, Bia and Tiago were playing with the middle one reading a book on motor physics.
"How can Eva possibly care for ALL those chicks at once?" a female voice sounded, pulling Ahsoka's attention to the speaker. Then the speaker, Samara, walked in and gazed disapprovingly at the keel-billed toucan mother and her twenty-plus children. Then Samara gestured to Blu and Jewel's three chicks, "I mean look how small Blu and Jewel's brood is compared to all those toucan kids. That couple is sure to have an easier time raising those three chicks rather than TWENTY-FIVE..."
"They must have been breeding like crazy," Ahsoka said. Samara glared at Eva.
"FAR too crazily if you ask me," said she, "You know when I have my own children, I will NOT be having so many broods in a short amount of time. It's recommended you wait that your first brood of chicks is old enough to leave the nest before you proceed with having another brood of chicks or, in your case, another pup."
When Samara said this, Ahsoka's ears fell and she left to the edge of the worktop and sat on its edge with her legs hunched up and wings wrapped around her body as the hurt from Orion's scathing comments flared up again. Her eyes began to well more tears and she sniffled. Samara went over to her to comfort her.
"I'll NEVER learn to fly," the ginger bat wept.
"Sure you will," said Samara, "Blu had been flightless for the first FIFTEEN years of his life and yet during his adventures with Jewel, it came to him."
"But if I cannot learn how to fly," Ahsoka snapped sadly, "I cannot be with you in the wild, especially Orion, and I can't stay with Joanna forever. After all, Orion was right on point. We flying foxes were NOT made to be pets."
She then broke down in despair, wondering if she will EVER get airborne. Samara, rather than become condescending like she would have done earlier, instead began to comfort her.
While the female glaucous macaw and female flying fox sat together and Eva continued tending to her and Rafael's 25 chicks and Carla, Bia and Tiago, a group of black passerine birds crept into the building through a hole in the back. Dooku and his group, some of them carrying empty cages had managed to find an opening to the garage and had successfully infiltrated it through the hole. Now, they were focussed on one thing in mind. The crows and ravens in the group continued sneaking carefully through the garage, some of them taking in the tools and the car.
"Shh, you lot," Dooku whispered, "We do NOT wanna alert ANY of our targets or their friends."
As he said this, the group passed by a basket containing some blankets and a pillow. This was Luiz's bed and where he slept.
"A dog lives in this place?" asked one of Dooku's underlings, Morty.
"Possibly but he would NOT be one of our group's dog pack," Dooku hissed, "Now stop witterin' about insignificant things an' start looking for our targets. Remember, Vecna and Frank wants all FOURTEEN of 'em."
Morty obeyed and pulled his attention from Luiz's bed. The crows and ravens crept further into the garage, their glares scouring the room for any flash of blue or drabber ginger, black and brown. As they did that, another raven, a female named Sombra who crept with Noire, yet another raven, whispered, "Get down!"
Immediately, the crows and ravens ducked behind the car and Dooku peered out and upward from behind the bonnet. As the lead raven's eyes picked out a spot of ginger fur and blue and grey feathers, his beak formed a wicked, triumphant smile.
"Yessss," the chubby lead raven hissed, "Two of our targets," he then ducked back behind the car and began to instruct his underlings and divide them into groups. Some of the ravens and crows will search one area while another group will prepare to catch Ahsoka and Samara. Another group will be stationed to prepare to fight any of those outside should they hear any commotion and also prepare to capture the certain members. Dooku also commanded the underlings to NOT fly or they would be easily spotted if they did that. This done, the ravens and crows split into their assigned groups and spread out.
Morty's team lead by Noire the crow fluttered quietly and carefully onto the worktop and began to search for the Spix macaw chicks which they had deduced were inside and they were correct. The crows and ravens checked under each tool and object on the worktop for any flash of blue. Noire lifted a hammer and checked under it.
"If their parents are here, THEY will be here too," said the raven, the determination to catch Blu and his family boiling within her. Nearby, Sombra who had a cage on her came by. Three more crows also checked under some oil canisters and in some holes.
"Can we fly around and look?" asked one of the crows.
"No, remember what Dooku instructed us and why," Sombra replied. The crow, disappointed, left to continue the search. As Morty, Sombra and Noire's team continued their search, Carla, Bia and Tiago continued playing with the toucan kids including Diantha when Carla heard something. Immediately and with Eva not looking, the oldest chick and daughter of Blu and Jewel left to investigate the sounds. Noire's team continued checking the worktop carefully when suddenly, Morty, as he turned, brushed his tail feathers against something near the edge of the worktop. The young raven (but older than Charon), alarmed, whipped round to seize whatever he had brushed, a wrench, to prevent it from falling off the worktop but it was too late. The wrench careened to the floor and landed there with a series of loud ringing clangs. Morty winced in alarm while the other crows and ravens, startled by the noise, also sprung round and shot horrified looks at the young raven as he froze solid. The clanging noise echoed throughout the room and reached the ears of Eva, Ahsoka and Samara and also Bia, Tiago and the 25 toucan kids, stiffening them with alert.
"Did you guys hear that?" Samara asked. Ahsoka and Eva nodded before the latter turned to make sure that all 28 chicks including Blu and Jewel's three were all present.
"Eva, you stay with the chicks while we go and investigate," Samara commanded, before a hostile glare formed on her face, "I hope it's not who I think it is..."
Eva did so and commanded the chicks to stay put while Samara left with Ahsoka to investigate the cause of the clattering.
Morty gazed down sheepishly at the wrench he had just knocked off the worktop when a crow talon darted in, seized his neck and yanked his face to the angry dark brown-eyed glare of a female crow. The other crow and ravens in Morty's team also came round as Noire began to reprimand and slap Morty HARD for his stupidity. Nearby, Dooku and his team shot the group a FURIOUS glare.
"You ESTÚPIDO!" the female crow snarled and with that, she slapped Morty across the face, "IMBACILE!" she have Morty another slap to the face and a third one, "YOU'VE JUST GIVEN AWAY OUR PRESENCE you NO-GOOD... STUPID..." she then began to deliver a barrage of more slaps to Morty's face and call him a series of bad names, including 'overgrown starling', 'brainless blackbird', and 'good-for-nothing pigeon'. As she did this, Carla flitted nervously and gazed timidly at the ravens. After severely punishing Morty and pushing him away, Noire turned and as she did, her eyes found a small cerulean form with green eyes hover nearby. Immediately, her beak formed a wicked smile. Carla immediately emitted a timid chirp, turned round and flitted back to the other chicks hiding with Eva, the keel-billed mate of Rafael frantically searching for her and calling out her name. Noire and her team including Morty, after recovering from his daze from Noire's slaps, followed, those carrying cages taking said animal-holding tools with them. Carla flitted back to Bia and Tiago and the 25 toucan kids, a foolish move as she unintentionally lead the wicked poachers' corvids right in their direction. Noire, Sombra, Morty and the other crows and ravens with them continued to follow Carla until finally, they found her huddled nervously with her brother and sister and a small puddle of black and white feathers and colourful beaks, most of them orange and black like their toco father. As soon as Noire and company found the three Spix macaw chicks and the toucan kids, wickedly triumphant glares forming on their faces.
"Bad move, lil' chick," crooned Noire evilly as her comrades prepared their cages, "Now that we have found you, it is time for ya to be caged, along with ya parents an' new friends includin' those two flyin foxes."
"Yes, we have been lookin' for ya since ya escape from that tent area," added Morty tauntingly, "And this time, we shall NOT fail. After all, our lead swan and masters are anxiously waitin' for ya."
"Especially with that storm comin'," put in Sombra and she emitted a titter as the 28 chicks quivered. The older toucan kids including Marco and Miguel stood rooted to the spot with fear despite being taught self-defence lessons by Rafael. However, before Noire, Sombra, Morty and their comrades could lunge at the 28 chicks, especially the three Spix macaw ones, a silvery female voice snarled, "Oh, there's a STORM comin' alright, you intrudin' mud-pet raven RATS!"
Noire and her team shot looks about the room when a blue and grey comet swooped down from above, her talons outstretched and poised to inflict injury. Noire's group shot their gazes ceiling-ward and when they saw Samara, her eyes blazing yellow flames, swoop upon them, they immediately scattered. However, Morty moved too slow and Samara struck him down. Carla, Bia and Tiago and the toucan kids flinched when they saw the female glaucous macaw do this and the young raven fly up and then down onto his back. Morty immediately scrambled to his feet but Samara reappeared, screeched, "TAKE TWO!" and knocked him down again. Then Samara whirled round and raked her claws over the young raven's face, inflicting a set of claw marks on his brow and making him release a short screech of agony. Noire, Sombra and their other comrades, ignoring Morty, then landed on the car and got prepared to pounce onto the chicks from above but then a black and white toucan with a bright magenta and lime green beak and a large ginger and red dog-faced bat with black membranous wings appeared and took up defensive stances. Ahsoka bared her teeth while Eva wore a fierce scowl. She very rarely dealt with violence but will NOT hesitate to get involved whenever her chicks were threatened, like ALL mothers.
"EVA, SCREECH!" Samara yelled. Eva obeyed immediately but as she flapped up and before she could do that, a black blur shot in and bashed right into the keel-billed toucan. Samara and Ahsoka released cries of horror while the kids screamed as they watched Eva slam into the wall and flop to the floor. Then Dooku appeared with a raven armed with a cage and they seized Rafael's mate. Eva tried to scream but a third raven appeared and, with some black tape, bound the keel-billed toucan's beak shut to prevent her from doing so. This done, the three ravens shoved her into the cage and locked her in it. Eva writhed and tried to move the black tape from her beak but was unable to. The 25 toucan kids released cries for their mother and began to swarm towards the cage.
"MOTHER, MOPTHER, MOTHER!"
Dooku and the other two ravens with him looked up and were immediately overrun by the sheer crowd of young half toco, half-keel-billed toucans as they swarmed the cage. Carla, Bia and Tiago tried to join the toucan kids but Noire appeared and seized them. However, a bundle of red and ginger fur shot in and bashed into her, making her release Carla, Bia and Tiago. Samara immediately swept Blu and Jewel's chicks in her talons and lofted into flight with them. she kept a firm grip on the three Spix macaw chicks as she flew. At the same time, more ravens and crows appeared and began to restrain Rafael and Eva's 25 chicks and cage them, resulting in an ensuing scuffle as they finally applied their self-defence lessons. Morty got clawed in the face by Diantha, resulting in him receiving another set of claw marks in addition to Samara's; Sombra had her feathers ripped out by Marco and several other toucan kids and Noire was overrun with more toucan kids. The other ravens and crows also struggled with the sheer number of children of Rafael and Eva. Dooku struggled with one toucan kid biting his leg and another pulling on his head feathers.
"HOW MANY CHICKS HAVE YOU HAD, KEEL-BILLED RABBIT!?" the lead raven screamed at Eva as she looked on scornfully despite having her beak bound shut by the black tape. However, despite the 25 toucan kids swarming the crows and ravens, several managed to escape and began to pursue Samara who had Carla, Bia and Tiago in her talons, around the ceiling of the garage.
"QUICK, AHSOKA, SCREAM FOR HELP!" Samara cried as she evaded a crow's attempt to snatch her, sn3ding him careening into a canister of oil and crashing into it. Ahsoka immediately did so and, as Dooku looked on as he struggled with some of the toucan kids screamed, "NOOO!", the ginger flying fox opened her mouth released a piercing scream to alert the others outside.
Outside the garage, Blu, Jewel, Sirius, Aurora, Zephyr, Brisa, Celeste, Milo, Alabaster, Poppy, Nico, Pedro, Rafael and also Orion and Luiz were alerted by Ahsoka's screams. Orion jolted out of his sulk on the roof lip and immediately dropped from there into the air, his black hand-wings spread wide.
"EVA, SAMARA, AHSOKA, THE CHICKS!" cried Sirius and with that, he immediately bolted for the hole in the roof and plunged into it. Blu and Jewel also rushed right after the male glaucous macaw followed by the other birds while Luiz and Orion darted into the door. The moment the others were inside, they were greeted with a horrific scene. Samara continued desperately trying to keep Carla, Bia and Tiago away from the crows and ravens but they continued their relentless chase of her and Sirius saw that she was beginning to get tired as she continued darting about the ceiling similar to how she had done back at the smugglers' den. Rafael released a cry as he saw some of his 25 chicks get caught and stuffed into cages and he let loose another cry when he saw his beloved keel-billed mate caught in a cage, her horrified glare and taped-shut beak gazing at her children getting nabbed, the poor mother unable to do much and certainly not scream. Nearby, Ahsoka was swinging a wrench at the ravens and crows as they tried to get at her. Immediately, Blu and the others plunged into action, Blu and Jewel making an immediate beeline for the ravens and crows chasing Samara and their chicks in her clutches.
Samara continued flapping to keep ahead of her pursuers but eventually, fatigue seized her and she began to slow down. Immediately upon this happening, two ravens shot in and seized the female glaucous macaw and stuffed her into a cage held by a crow. However, she had released Carla, Bia and Tiago upon this happening but they were immediately seized by Morty and he held them triumphantly in his talons. However, an EXTREMELY volcanic screech exploded nearby. Morty looked up just in time to see an ENRAGED blue macaw and his cerulean mate fly in and tackle into him. As Blu and Jewel tackled into Morty and began to mercilessly beat, bite and claw him and rescued their chicks, Sirius darted in and saw Samara in her cage held by some ravens.
"SAMARA!" the male glaucous macaw cried out and went over to her to rescue her but Samara yelled, "SIRIUS, NO!"
Sirius stopped and whirled round to face a scornful fat raven with brown eyes glare at him meanly and mockingly.
"About to save ya lil' Juliet, Romeo?" Dooku crooned in a sickly-sweet voice. Sirius glared angrily at the lead raven. Nearby him, Blu and Jewel had finished dealing severely with Morty and had left the brutally clawed and injured young raven to struggle with his injuries. After this, they flew after their chicks to reunite with them. Dooku continued taunting Sirius.
"I've heard what happens to those poor, poor lovers in that play from that English play writer," the lead raven continued, "They both die in the end, don't they? I wonder if that will happen to you and your pretty girlfriend in that cage there..." he nodded to Samara in her cage who winced. Sirius flashed a look at her and glared back at Dooku as he added, "That is, after we smuggle ya outa this country to sell ya to be taxidermy decorations."
Sirius hardened his glare, a volcano of wrath boiling within him at the insult, indicated by a hiss filtering through his beak.
"Animals are NOT just things to be collected like THAT, fatty," he snapped in a controlled voice. Dooku winced at the insult but he brushed it off. Sirius continued, "And I certainly will NOT have ANYONE treat MY friends like THAT with such a HORRIFIC, VILE DEMISE IN MIND!" he then advanced towards Dooku and got prepared to attack him.
"Oh, of course ya don't," Dooku sarcastically replied.
"Sirius," Samara cried as Sirius got prepared to pounce onto Dook uto tear his feathers out, "Sirius, look OUT!"
However, before Sirius could turn an inch, three black blurs swooped upon him. Then the male glaucous macaw's rage exploded BIG TIME and he began to fight back against the three crows as they tried to restrain him and cage him. Dooku, seeing that Sirius was occupied, then went round to help his comrade capture and cage their targets, leaving Sirius to fight against his foes and resist being stuffed into a poacher's cage.
Around the garage, the fight continued. Nico and Pedro kicked nuts and bolts at more ravens and crows as they went at them and knocked them out. However, one raven lunged at the canary and cardinal and seized them.
"Ya NOT gonna cage US, ya PESKY feathered mini-turkey!" Pedro snarled and with that, he clamped his beak HARD o0nto one of the toes of the raven. A MASSIVE caw of agony exploded from the raven's beak and he dropped Nico and Pedro who flitted away. The other ravens and crows attacked the rest of the group and they did so with force. They were determined NOT to lose or let Blu, his family, Orion, Ahsoka, Sirius, Samara, Milo, Celeste, Aurora, Brisa and Zephyr escape this time so they were fierce in their attack. Some ravens and crows pursued Milo and Celeste in the air while several more attacked Rafael, Alabaster, Poppy and Luiz. Luiz charged into some of the ravens, splattering some of his drool onto some of them to their revulsion.
"HAH!" the bulldog howled, "Take THAT, pesky rooks!"
As he released a laugh, a female crow jumped onto his back and began to peck at him but Luiz bolted and sent the bird flying into a puddle of oil. The crow tried to stand up but kept slipping and sliding to Luiz's further laughter. Above Luiz, Rafael tackled into another raven to knock him away from Alabaster and Poppy who continued fight more ravens and crows before his eyes rested on a certain caged keel-billed toucan and several small toucans. Immediately, he went over to her.
"EVA, KIDS!" he cried but as he approached them, more corvids appeared and tried to cage the toco toucan. However, Rafael, the instinctive urge to save his mate and kids flaring, lunged at them and began to attack them. Nearby, Orion and Ahsoka continued fending off more ravens and crows. However, before Ahsoka could lunge at another raven attempting to seize Orion from behind, a black blur shot in and seized her by the neck. Orion whirled round and when he saw his would-be captor; he lashed at the raven and jabbed his wing-thumb claws into its face, sending it running and crying in pain, its wings on its face. However, he saw a ginger, red and black bat stuffed into a cage and crying his name. Ahsoka had been seized by another crow by the neck and flung into a cage held by two ravens.
"ORION!" Ahsoka screamed as her captors darted away.
"AHSOKA!" cried Orion and he tried to pursue the female ginger bat and her captors but they flew off before he could even leap at them. Somewhere else, Aurora, Zephyr and Brisa continued fending off more ravens but then Sombra appeared and got prepared to capture the former. Brisa saw this and charged at Aurora.
"Aurora, look OUT!" Zephyr's sister cried and she tackled the pigtailed Spix macaw away moments before Sombra lunged at her and attempted to seize her but got Brisa by the neck. Zephyr looked on as Aurora fell on her stomach. Aurora then whirled round and screamed, "BRISA!" as Brisa was then stuffed into a cage held by two ravens.
"NO!" cried Zephyr and he and Aurora tried to lunge at Sombra and her group but they darted away with Brisa in their cage. Close by, Milo and Celeste continued fending off more ravens and crows but Celeste was seized and caught to Milo's horror. Blu continued fighting off more ravens and crows as well while Jewel attempted to get Carla, Bia and Tiago to safety. However, a group of more ravens and crows suddenly appeared with a cage and had Jewel run right into it with her chicks.
"BLUUU!" cried she, alerting her mate. Blu whirled round and when he saw his mate and chicks in the cage, he rushed for them but a chubby raven appeared before him.
"That's right, you join ya family in the cage, Spix gem," crooned Dooku tauntingly. Blu gazed at him but then rage finally flared up within him.
"Let my mate and children GO, you FAT BUCKET OF ADIPOSE!" snarled he and with that, he jumped up but before he could score his claws over Dooku's face, two more ravens appeared and seized him by the wings. Blu flapped madly and he was flung into the cage with Jewel and the chicks. Then before Dooku's underlings could slam the cage shut, Jewel exploded, darted out of the cage and slashed her claws over the chest of one of the crows, carving a set of NASTY claw marks. Dooku winced as the crow then clasped its chest and began to caw in agony but then Jewel lunged at the fat raven and began to savagely attack him but before she could inflict the first set of claw marks on him, Dooku bolted and launched Jewel into the air. Then he darted to one side and harshly tackled into Jewel HARD. Blu screamed his mate's name while the chicks screamed, "MOMMY!" when they saw the cerulean macaw crash against the wall and fall limply onto the floor, out cold. Then Dooku glared at the unconscious Jewel.
"Get that mother Spix macaw caged with her family," he commanded a crow and a raven and they immediately seized Jewel and tossed her back into the cage with Blu and the chicks. This done, Dooku sent the Spix macaw family's captors into flight, Blu cradling the unconscious Jewel in his wings.
"I'm gonna SNAP YA NECK FOR THIS, LARD BUCKET!" the brown-eyed Spix macaw screeched while the chicks cried. Dooku smirked sadistically while behind him, Aurora and Zephyr looked on in sheer horror.
"NOOO!" cried Brisa's brother before he and Aurora turned their gazes to Dooku.
"You MONSTER!" cried the latter and with that, she attempted to lunge at the raven to brutally attack him but Zephyr darted in front of her.
"Aurora, STOP!" he cried. Aurora, rage fuelling her, screeched at him to let her go but Zephyr knew that she would endanger herself if she went for Dooku, especially since more ravens and crows appeared with another empty cage. Then Zephyr tackled Aurora into moving and they fled. Dooku stomped a foot onto the floor in frustration of the pair escaping. The battle continued and soon enough, the fires began to rage higher. Dooku looked around and saw more ravens and crows receive some injuries. One crow was clawed in the back by an ENRAGED Milo while another raven had some tail flight feathers torn out by an ANGRY Rafael. Yet another crow was clawed in the face by Sirius, the ANGRY male glaucous macaw scoring his claws over its brow. Nearby, several more crows and ravens were injured by Alabaster and Poppy but the latter was suddenly captured by a few crows in their desperate attempt to stop the cockatoos from attacking them to Alabaster's horror, and Orion had managed to break a raven's wing in a fit of rage over Ahsoka getting kidnapped. Another raven was sent flying into the car by a tackle attack from Luiz and Nico and Pedro attacked more ravens and crows. Dooku immediately sounded the call.
"RETREAT!" he cried, "RETREAT NOW!"
With that, the crows and ravens abandoned their attempts to catch the remaining invaluable targets and fled Luiz's garage. Zephyr, Aurora, Sirius, Milo, Rafael, Nico, Pedro, Orion, Alabaster and Luiz gave chase but the crows and ravens were too fast for them. As the crows and ravens exited the garage's entrance like a flock of sinister bats, their captured victims in their cages in tow, Dooku turned round and issued a mocking parting shot.
"Hah, you've been OUTWITTED, losers!" he crooned and with that, he did a loser gesture with a talon at the remaining group, "Follow us if ya DARE!"
Then with a wicked caw laugh, the chubby raven followed his comrades and flew away, taking the caged Blu, Jewel, Carla, Bia, Tiago, Eva and all 25 toucan kids, Celeste, Brisa, Ahsoka, Poppy and Samara who were screeching for help and with anger at their captors, with them. However, Morty and the raven whose wing was broken by Orion were not with them for they were too injured to follow, but Dooku and his comrades had purposely abandoned them after seeing them as completely useless with their injuries now. Milo slammed a wing on the ground in frustration and snarled.
"Unnngh... those... SLY... SNEAKY..." he grunted through a gritted beak.
"I'm gonna FLAY THOSE PIGEONS!" added Sirius.
"Guys, they've also captured Blu and Jewel and their chicks!" Aurora cried.
"AND Poppy," put in Alabaster.
"An' also Eva an' ALL 25 of her chicks!" added Nico. Immediately, Rafael, Pedro and Luiz began to look around for a certain family of five but to their horror, they could not find them. Rafael also emitted a wail at having his entire big family stolen. Then Aurora fell onto her front and began to weep as Sirius then glared at Rafael.
"This is... YOUR fault, toucan, ESPECIALLY regarding your mate and chicks!" he snarled. Rafael shot the glaucous macaw a stunned glare.
"Oh, so you think I KNEW this was gonna happen!?" he snapped.
"Which is WHY you SHOULD HAVE LEFT EVA an' ALL YOUR CHICKS BACK IN THE JUNGLE IN THE FIRST PLACE!" yelled Sirius. Rafael opened his beak to retort but Zephyr intervened.
"STOP IT!" he yelled, halting the glaucous macaw and toco toucan's argument and deescalating it, "Arguing will NOT help our captured friends, most especially my sister and HIS family," he nodded to Rafael as he said this.
"He's right, Rafy," said Nico, "We MUST do something."
"Then LET'S," snapped Sirius, but then the glaucous macaw's rage was replaced by frustration, "But how are we gonna find 'em!?"
Immediately, Alabaster stepped forward and called Nico and Pedro to him.
"We'll go," said the sulphur-crested cockatoo, "We'll track down those crows and ravens and see where they are headed. as soon as we find them, we'll return to you quickl;y and lead you to them."
This ignited the determination within the group to find their successfully kidnapped friends.
"I'm in, Alabastie," said Nico.
"I'm in too," said Pedro. Then Rafael regained his composure.
"Okay, you three, you fly on ahead and we'll catch up," the toco toucan said, "I ESPECIALLY wanna rescue my lovely Eva and 25 precious kids before those rotten ravens and crooked crows meet up with their equally crooned comrades and proceed further with their plans for them," he then winced at the thought of his big family being smuggled out of Rio. Immediately, Alabaster, Nico and Pedro opened their wings and lofted into flight and began to follow Dooku's group as they receded into the soon-to-be cloud-smothered sky. Once the three were off, the others began to follow.
"We'd better rescue Blu and the others before those poachers find them and take them to the airport," Aurora cried. As they went along, Orion lowered his ears and began to weep.
"And Ahsoka's been captured too," said he, "and I had been unable to protect her. It's all my fault..."
"Now's not the time to blame yourself, Orion, we have a rescue to deal with," Sirius said. Immediately, Orion put aside his grief over Ahsoka and the others getting kidnapped and continued the journey.
"I hope Blu and Jewel have got their vicious parental instinct all set and ready to lash," Milo said with dread, "especially against that snake-necked beast Vecna. That swan holds no wing swipes in torturing parrots including chicks..."
"Vecna?" asked Luiz as he ran along, his spit drips flying from his jowls and nearly hitting Orion in the face to his disgust.
"We'll explain later, mate," said Milo, "Let's get moving! Hopefully Alabaster, Nico and Pedro will manage to find where those crows and ravens are headed with their captured victims."
Immediately, dread ignited within the rest of the group especially Aurora, Zephyr and Orion. Carla, Bia and Tiago at the mercy of the vicious Vecna!? THAT was sure to be Blu and Jewel's WORST nightmare. Putting that aside, they continued their rush.
