"Bearing the scars of our loss like it's all we deserve," - Poets of the Fall

I began to stir when I heard an adult woman's voice sharply raised and yelling not in anger, but out of confusion. A moment later I feel something being pulled over me so I crack both my eyes open, making the woman jump back. "Oh! She's waking up. I'm sorry sweetie, I was just putting a blanket over you to keep you warm."

"I appreciate your kindness," I tell her as I sit up in this ole bed once more. I check under my nose by wiping a finger across but I don't feel any dried blood. She must have cleaned up my face while I slept.

"Of course," the lady steps back. "How are you feeling? Drew says you've uh, got some stuff going on right now such as suddenly appearing in our home?"

Drew? I catch him sitting by the TV, looking more relaxed than he did before. This lady must be his mom. "I'm sorry for intruding on both of you. I did not come here by choice."

"How exactly did you get here?" Drew's Mom asked me, keeping her eyes on me the whole time. I can tell she means business.

"Ahh..." I scratch the back of my head in a nervous act. I might as well be brutally honest with her since they have been so nice to me. "I'm mostly certain that an angel banishing sigil sent me here. WHY, I don't know, but I do have one guess and that is because of Drew's Grace. Maybe mine was drawn to his since I was weakened."

Drew's Mom asked me, "What is an angel banishing sigil? That doesn't sound very nice."

"It's... um..." I actually turned my eyes over to Drew who caught me.

"You can trust her," he promised. "My mom's cool as hell."

She seemed happy to hear him say that even though she pointed a finger at him going, "Watch your language! You're only fifteen."

"Me too," I admitted with a chuckle. So this boy was cute, has powers like me AND is my age. How'd I get so lucky? Honestly, who am I really kidding? Like I could try to have a boyfriend while I'm living with my lifelong best friend and protector, who's also basically in love with me? Yeah right. "Anyway, a sigil is like a symbol you draw up on a wall or a door. It has to be drawn in human blood and its purpose is to literally banish away any angels who are near it. You have to be bleeding when you press your hand against the sigil to activate it."

"So getting hit by one weakens you like you were earlier?" Drew assumed, and I nodded.

"You seem to know a lot about them even though you suffered one." Drew's Mom noticed.

I sighed. "It took me by surprise because the person who did it was someone I'm supposed to trust, so I'm pretty angry at them right now and-" I felt a small surge in my head and I blinked. "I think I've got my powers back." I slip off the bed and immediately try to zap from here to their kitchen just a few feet away, and I was successful this time. "Fantastic." I sighed in relief.

"What are you going to do now?" Drew asked, sounding very curious.

"I'm going back to where I got blasted from and find out what's going on from Bobby, he should still be there- sorry! Bobby is a Hunter, and a reliable friend unlike the one who banished me." I explained. Drew's Mom looked like she was trying her hardest to understand me while I continued. "Does Drew know how to fight?"

"What?" He started a mild panic within himself. "No way, I don't even know how to get into the kitchen like you just did."

I stared so hard at Drew and began assuming this is how Castiel felt after he snatched me from my bedroom, and that still sounds so wrong. "I can teach you." I said quietly.

Drew looked a little shocked at my sudden offer as his mom asked, "Fighting who or what, exactly?"

"This time I think it's more angels," I answered. "We'd already fought some before I got banished."

"Fighting angels?" Drew repeated. "That sounds crazy!"

"Yeah well, that's been my life for the last eleven months," I admitted. "I got thrown into a mess completely oblivious. I lost my family due to this mess, so I'm going to fight until the end. The more help I can get, powerful help, the better. So I guess I'm asking if Drew could come back with me."

To my surprise his mom immediately answered. "Yes."

"Mom!" Drew whined and various memories of JD hit me. It took a lot of willpower to suppress a smile followed by a frown.

"How else are you going to learn about your powers?" She asked him. "I trust you Drew and I want you to do the right thing. Your father would want that too. And I think I can trust her as well." She nodded at the end to me. Now I didn't have to hold my smile back.

This lady says she trusts me and I don't even know her name. I'm doing something right.

Drew sighed in defeat and agreed to going with me. "How long will you be gone?" His mom asks me while he enters the bathroom.

"That depends on the situation at Bobby's," I answered with an honest shrug.

"Fair enough," Drew's Mom looked at me with worry. "You'll look after him? Drew?" She asked in a whisper.

"Absolutely," I cross my fisted arm over my chest. "For a long time I was sheltered and mostly unaware that other angels and such types existed. I'd always thought it was just me and my best friend Teivel. That changed after last year obviously when the Apocalypse started... the one from the Bible if you maybe know?"

"You're kidding!" Drew's Mom exclaimed. "Is that why most of the world's been ending with these storms here and there?"

I nodded. "I'm trying to fight to stop the Apocalypse."

"This is more serious than I thought," she admitted.

"I understand ma'am but I still promise to look after your son. I have been hoping to find more people like me so I may not show it, but I am very happy I have met your son."

Drew exits the bathroom finally, no doubt having heard my sworn oath to protect him. I turn to face him and realize the tables have completely turned for me. Tei isn't here to protect me, and now I'm the one being the protector. Who knows, maybe Tei went to Bobby's to wait for me to show up. "Do you need to pack anything?" I asked him. "I'll say this now, I'd say yes because I didn't get this opportunity. I got snatched by an angel right out of my bedroom and I was still in my pajamas, and I didn't get to bring a damn thing."

"You've had an interesting journey so far," Drew's Mom admits with a laugh while Drew packs a bag.

"You could say that," I agreed as Drew lugged himself over on his cane, bag slung over the opposite shoulder. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be," he said with an awkward nod. His mom hugs him goodbye and tells us to be safe and to check back in as soon as he could.

"I'll get him a phone," I decided as I sized up Drew. "So you've never flown before?" I asked.

"I don't think so?" He said. "Why? Do I have to figure out how to do that before we leave?"

I shook my head. If I do it mid-sentence maybe he will be too distracted to be overcome by nausea. "I was just wondering that way I-" I snapped my fingers quickly to zap us to Bobby's. "Know where to start to teach you." I finished. Some papers on a nearby table flew up from our instant arrival. Unfortunately my idea failed as I watched Drew's face turn multiple colors before he turned to the right towards the kitchen. He even dropped his cane in an attempt to get there faster so it was a miracle watching him make it to the sink without falling. While he vomited Bobby came wheeling in from the library.

"First time on the Angel Express?" He guessed.

"Yeah," I reached for Drew's cane and went into the kitchen. "You dropped this." I said jokingly as I propped the cane up next to the sink. "You okay?"

He nods as he runs the sink to clear it. "I see what you tried to do with asking if I flew before. Thanks for trying."

"No problem," I said as I went back out to see Bobby. Drew followed me after so I was able to properly introduce them. "Drew, this is Bobby. Bobby, this is Drew. He's on my level."

"You okay kid?" Bobby said to him.

Drew twisted his crippled leg a little. "Do you happen to have any pain reliever?"

"Oh yeah, I got you right over here," Bobby turned and wheeled back into the library and set down a bottle of beer. "This was gonna be my next one but you can have it."

I started laughing near hysterically while Drew appeared just plain confused. "So what's going on Bobby? Where is everyone?" I asked after I calmed down and retrieved real pain medicine from Bobby's bathroom.

"You must have missed everything," Bobby realized. "After Dean sent you and Cas into space the angels zapped Adam out of here. They figured out where they took Adam and went after him. I guess Cas carved a banishing sigil onto his own chest to deal with the angels guarding Adam, but we haven't heard from him since. Whole damn thing was a trap and they didn't get Adam out."

"What the hell does that mean?" I asked. "Where's Adam now?"

Bobby shrugged. "My guess... Michael."

I looked down at the ground. "Dean changed his mind about Michael?"

"I suppose."

"Permission to strangle him?" I asked Bobby, who wasn't sure if I was serious or not. "So Sam and Dean are where now?"

Before Bobby could answer there was a hard knock on the front door to the house. Bobby raised one eye in confusion so I offered to check it out. As I reach the door I notice a note on the floor along with an unopened yellow lollipop. I now had a strange feeling I knew who this was from. I snatch the note to read:

Hey kiddo,

meet me at this location and bring Metalhead Junior with you

yellow's still your favorite color right?

I hadn't heard from Gabriel since I met him, so I thought he was angry with me for betraying him. It seems I was mistaken? I let out a chuckle as I unwrap the lollipop. "What is it?" Drew asked from afar.

"The Archangel Gabriel called you Metalhead Junior and I don't know why," I announced. "And he also wants us to meet him somewhere, probably right now."

Drew rolled his handsome blue eyes at me. "Mom said my father introduced himself to her as Brap, the Angel of Metal." He clarified.

"That is his title," I said excitedly, remembering Raquel's history lesson. "He must be a cool angel if Gabriel knows him."

"Maybe," Drew shrugged. "I don't know a damn thing about him really."

As a joke I pointed my finger at him like his mom did when he swore, and let's just say I got myself in trouble for that one, but we were soon going to the location Gabriel wrote down. "Be careful. Can't be too sure if Gabriel can be trusted or not." Bobby tried to warn us before we left.

"He's my good family so I trust him." I admitted.

"He's your fa-?" Drew started to ask but got caught off from us zapping away once again.

Muncie, Indiana

"Is this some kind of joke?" Drew's voice grew annoyed very quickly upon our arrival. He appeared to be getting sick again but he seemed to fight it off this time and continued. "Has this entire thing been some sort of angel blind dating thing my mom set up for me?"

His words didn't make sense until I saw we were standing outside of a rather luxurious hotel. "You're ridiculous," I scolded him. "Why is it that every guy I'm attracted to is always so freaking sarcastic?" I blurted out without realizing. Before Drew could even think of a response to me confessing my feelings to someone I've just met today, Gabriel himself appears in between us with a low grin.

"Thanks for coming, but we have to be quick," he nodded and snapped his fingers. The three of us were now in one of the hotel rooms inside. I raised an eye when I saw that Dean and Sam were also in this room. "See boys, I told you I'm here to save you. I brought these two as backup."

"You needed saving and didn't call me?" I asked this to Sam, ignoring Dean until he apologized for earlier today.

"We haven't really been able to," Sam admitted. "But having you here doesn't help us. There are Gods here who want to use us to bring out Michael and Lucifer."

"Oh crap," I groaned.

"Like the Archangels?" Drew realized. "They're real too?"

"I don't get you Gabriel," Dean let out. "Last time you wanted us to play our roles."

"Oh that's still going to happen, just not tonight." Gabriel admitted.

"Can we just help them fight instead?" Sam suggested. "Do those Gods stand a chance?"

"Not even close," Gabriel answered. "Lucifer is gonna liquefy them and laugh about it. So I'm going to convince Kali to undo your blood spells so we can all zap out of here."

"Then we'll have these two to help us get the people they got locked up in the freezer out." Dean negotiated.

"Fine," Gabriel nodded at me. He disappeared so I looked at Drew.

"I don't really know what's going on either, but I know this is important." I said to him.

"I've sort of been going with the flow since you showed up," Drew admitted as we followed Sam and Dean through the hotel and into the staff kitchen to rescue the people in the freezer. Gods eat humans or what?

We reached the door and I offered to yank it open with holy angel strength, and just about did it when I heard someone grab Dean from behind and throw him across the kitchen. Then he grabbed Sam and held him up, choking him. "Stop!" I yelled, holding my hand forward and blasting the fat and bald God off Sam. Dean got up just as I concentrated and smited the God. Moments later I heard Drew yell my name, and then I felt an awful but familiar pain stab me in my backside.

Sam and Dean get captured by reinforcements. The God who stabbed me shoves me at Drew telling him, "If you try to take that iron blade out of her we'll kill you. Follow us now."

Drew realized I was getting weaker and unable to stand so he went out of his comfort zone and let me lean on his good side as he wrapped his arm around me. "Are you okay?" He asked as we did our best to keep up with the Gods.

"I won't die but I'll be-" pain interrupted me and it was difficult to withstand.

"Would this blade hurt me too?" Drew wondered as we traveled the hotel halls.

I shook my head so I wouldn't have to talk. "Hurts me because I'm half-demon."

"Demon?!" Drew repeated in sudden anger. "You're one of them?"

"Not by choice you know," I let out through more painful grunts. "Please believe me when I say I'm not bad like them."

"I do believe you," Drew admitted. "Demons killed my girlfriend and tried to kill me."

That's got to be why he's crippled, I realized to myself as I apologized to him, while we entered through a set of double doors into a large hall room consisting of a long table with several chairs. Gabriel was sat at the opposite end. He was captured too. We're all screwed.

The Gods force Sam and Dean to sit on Gabriel's right side, and they had Drew and I on the left. They gave us only one chair so I was practically in Drew's lap at this point. "How's the rescue going?" Dean asked Gabriel sarcastically. My uncle sneers at him before he asks how I'm doing.

A dark skinned Goddess with gorgeous wavy hair stood by Gabriel after, and revealed his identity to the other Gods in the room. Gabriel called her Kali and I knew she was a powerful Goddess. She stole Gabriel's Archangel Blade and promptly stabbed him with it. I squeezed Drew's arm and screamed at Kali since I knew I couldn't get up and kill her for causing me to lose another family member. While I cried Drew tried to comfort me as Kali said, "They can die. We can kill Lucifer."

Dean suggests a strained alliance to fight Lucifer and to lure him to us, but on a couple of conditions. First the people from the freezer were finally freed and then Drew was allowed to yank out the iron blade in my back. Luckily I didn't pass out this time. I needed to get away from Gabriel's body so I helped the freezer humans get outside.

"Psst!"

Drew and I dart our eyes across the parking lot towards the Impala, and to my shock Gabriel stuck his head out the back window and hissed at us to come over casually. Relief flooded me that he was alive that I nearly ran in my still weakened state. Drew climbed in behind me into the back of the Impala to face Gabriel. "What happened?" I asked him.

"Fake sword," Gabriel admitted. "Listen... first I was gonna ask you to snag the blood from Kali because she got mine too so now I can't leave here. But you seem to be just as stubborn as your dear old dad Lucifer so I know you'll ask me to stay and fight. But listen to me, I can't kill my brother."

"I'll do it for you," I said coldly. Drew gulped at us.

"One more thing," Gabriel held out his palm. "Put your hand over mine. I'm glad your boyfriend Teivel's not here. Drew's much better company I think."

"First of all," I croaked through my recovering pain from my injury. "Tei's not my boyfriend."

"I can't believe you've got some kind of pet name for him," Gabriel scolded as I set my hand over his.

"So you do know him!" I growled. "You lied to me."

"For your own good trust me," Gabriel advised. "Now listen. I'm going to sear a location into your mind and I'll make it to where Teivel can't extract the memory from you at all."

I widened my emerald eyes. "How do you know he can-?"

"Would you believe me if I told you he's more dangerous and harder to kill than Lucifer?" Gabriel asked me. After what he did to Sachiel? I nodded. "Lynn, can I really trust you?" He asked next.

"Absolutely." I promised.

"She means it." Drew vouched for me. That meant a lot to me hearing him say that.

"Okay then listen to me," Gabriel started, looking around outside from inside the car. "If anything happens to me for real - the location I gave you. Look after them okay? I'm entrusting them onto you."

"Who?" I wondered.

"Get back inside now." Gabriel ordered instead. We instantly obeyed and retreated back into the hotel. Entrust who onto me? Someone else I need to protect?

In the hall room, I announce to Kali and the others that Gabriel is alive. Kali and her God boyfriend Baldur start to prepare for my father's arrival. "Are we really about to fight the Devil?" Drew asked in absolute fear.

"I'm gonna kill him," I promised not just Drew, but myself. The lights above us began flickering and then I heard Thor's father getting murdered violently by mine. More Gods get violent deaths.

"You can't fight until your wound heals," Dean reminded me, then pleaded to Kali and Baldur, "Zap us all out of here would ya?"

"We can't," Baldur admitted. He walked ahead towards the double doors just as Lucifer walked in with a smile on his face. He's probably why nobody can fly. I grit my teeth when I see him. His vessel is in bad shape. Covered in blood from killing Gods and there are burn scabs all over his face. He looked over at us and made it seem like he was happy to see us again, while Baldur prepared to strike. "Think you own the planet... what gives you the RIGHT?"

"No one gives us the right," Lucifer told him quietly after he stuck his hand through Baldur and dropped him. "We take it."

Kali decided to attack next as revenge for Baldur's death. Her entire body went up in flames and her skin turned dark red. She used her arm like a flamethrower and blasted Lucifer, but he just smirked after the flames subsided. This made Kali even angrier as she attempted to punch him but he was faster. She went way the hell back and Lucifer went after her to finish her off, but then he himself was blasted back through the double doors.

Gabriel finally showed up. I wish I wasn't injured so I could help him fight. Lucifer walked back in and approached Gabriel, but Gabriel held out another sword and I'm assuming it was the real one. "Not this time," he uttered. He helped Kali get up. "GUYS! Get her out of here." He ordered Dean and Sam. He handed Kali over to them and guided them over towards the double doors to escape. My father looked very amused but unimpressed at the same time.

"Over a girl? Gabriel? I knew you were slubbing but I hope you didn't catch anything." He remarked, waving his fingers.

Gabriel glared at Drew and I who remained. "Leave now!" He demanded.

"Not happening!" I told him.

"You said I could trust you right? Remember?" Gabriel winked at me and I immediately understood. I didn't want this to be goodbye, but I knew Lucifer wasn't going to let him out of here. He was going to die for real this time and I'll cry all over again for him.

"Let's go." I whispered painfully to Drew who nodded and began hoofing us through the double doors and after the others. I knew Lucifer was looking at me with a frown but I ignored him. There he goes killing more of my family. How much more do I have to lose for him? For this damn stupid Apocalypse? When we get outside I can hear the Impala rumbling, waiting for her final passengers of the night. I take this as Dean's apology for earlier and thank him in my head as we run for the car and climb in the back. Kali gave us as much room as she could. Drew shut the door and Dean took off. I turned to look out the rear window at the hotel, knowing Gabriel was dying or already dead.

I turned back, leaned forward and held my face as the tears returned.
