"These crystals…" Said Ms. Raifort as they continued to walk through what she believed to be the lowest level of area zero.
She had dreamed of exploring this place since she was a kid, but could never have imagined something like this. The place and the pokémon that were found here were just so unique, yet they seemed very familiar. Like that scream tail thing they saw earlier. That was something. Yet as they kept going deeper things just got more and more strange. Now they were walking toward what appeared to be some sort of building almost infused with the crystals.
"Hel… Hello…" A voiceover some sort of PA system said.
"Mom?" Asked Arven.
"L… you… you have to be careful." A more manly voice said.
"Mom, dad? What's going on?"
"Listen… When the door opens… the pokemon inside will be released, so… be ready…"
With that, the voices above them ceased.
"That sounded a bit strange." Said Ms. Dendra. "How they spoke together at the end there."
"What about pokemon emerging from that door?" Asked Grushna.
"Looks like we have a battle coming on!" and excited Nemona said.
Just as the words came out of her mouth, the door opened, and dozens of pokemon shot out. They immediately dashed for the group.
"Incoming!" Yelled Penny.
"Hurry everyone get out your pokemon!" Ordered Juliana
Soon the group was able to match the number of pokemon they were against and a true battle royale began to take place.
However, suddenly two very familiar pokemon landed right smack in the middle of the brawl, causing pokemon on both sides to cease.
"Is that?" Asked someone in the crowd. Ms. Raifort wasn't exactly sure who it was just one of the children.
"Koraidon and Miraidon." She responded. However, these two looked a bit different than the ones who were currently refusing to come out of Florian and Juliana's pokeballs.
The two just stood there, towering over most of the other pokemon. Raifort wondered exactly which side they were on.
After a moment of silence, the two simultaneously let out rather loud roars, which didn't seem aimed at one side in particular. They then made their way through the crowd of pokemon and into the door that the others had recently emerged through.
For a few seconds not much really happened as both human and pokemon seemed shocked by what had just transpired.
Then…
"Preeeeeeeeeeeee!" Screamed one of the strange pokemon, which re-instigated the battle that had been briefly interrupted by the two legendaries.
As the trainers gave orders Ms. Raifort did an almost instinctive check.
"Where's Florian and Juliana?" Nurse Miriam asked.
"What?" Ms. Raifort responded. "Aren't they…" She looked around but couldn't see them anywhere. She then looked at the open door.
"Oh no…" She said as she realized what must have happened.
"Give it everything you have!" She screamed.
Though in truth everyone pretty much already was.
"You sure they went through here?" Asked Juliana.
"Yeah, pretty sure." Her brother replied as the two made their way through what essentially looked to be a metallic hexagon hallway.
In truth, Florian could no longer see or hear the two large pokemon, and it wasn't like they'd leave any kind of tracks in this place. However he was pretty sure they went in this direction. There were only two options after all so he had a chance that he chose the right path.
"You sure we should be following these two?" Asked Juliana. "They didn't seem too friendly."
"You were the one who said. This is our chance. When those pokemon stopped battling." Florian replied.
"Yeah, but in hindsight…"
"Greetings."
Juliana's words were cut off as the two arrived in a small rather messy room.
"He… hel… reboot. Hello." Said Professor Sada.
"You'll have to forgive her, Sada never gave her the update she was supposed to."
"Update?" Asked Florian.
"Wait a minute, you two are…" Juliana began to say.
"A.I." Sada answered. "Yes, we aren't Arven's parents. Though we have all their memories."
"You see." Said Turo. "When Arven was little the professors both sought to… be an actual family so to speak. However they knew their work here in Area Zero was important, so they decided to build us. That way they could be with their son and their work could continue."
"But… Arven said they were almost never with him growing up." Juliana pointed out.
"Yes." Sada replied. "Unfortunately they died shortly before going back to see him. It was about one month after they built us. We together had finished up their greatest invention, and they were testing it out…"
Just then both Moraidon and Koraidon showed up from the other side of the room. They didn't seem too happy after noticing Florian and Juliana in the room. They growled and made a few rather terrifying steps toward the youngsters.
"Back in your pokeball." Sada and Toro said simultaneously before sucking the pokemon back up into what appeared to be masterballs.
"It was them actually." Said Toro.
"Them what?" Asked Juliana.
"Perhaps it would be better if we just showed them." Sada suggested.
"Of course." Replied Toro. "This way children."
Florian and Juliana followed the two to some sort of elevator.
As the elevator started, Florian felt puzzled… not just by the fact that Arven's "parents" turned out to be to A.I. robots… but that the elevator was currently taking them to a lower level.
Just how far down did Area Zero go?
"WO." Said Juliana as the two reached what she assumed to be the bottom of the complex. In front of her was what could only be described as a giant crystal-like sparkling room with some sort of machine hanging above almost like a massive chandelier.
"This was the professors' greatest work." Said Turo.
"NO…" Sada said.
"Oh, other than their son of course." Turo corrected himself."
"You see your pokemon…" Sada explained. "…They are actually from the future and the past."
"What do you mean, both the future and the past?" Asked Florian.
"They are both relatives of Cyclizar, and Moraidon was brought from the future, while Koraidon from the past." Said Sada.
"What?" Asked Florian.
"That's right, you see we can bring back pokemon from both the past and the future using this machine." Turo said as he pointed to the chandelier-like machine.
"So, as I was alluded to earlier, they were testing out their machine and after bringing some pokemon back, finally the Koraidon and Moraidon emerged. They were astonished in bringing legendries from the future and past, so they tried again… but the other two were far more aggressive." Sada explained.
"So, when you said it was them?" Asked Juliana.
"Yes, they killed Arven's real parents. They were fighting with the other two and the professors tried to intervene… well it wasn't pretty." Turo said.
"Poor Arven." Said Juliana.
"In any case, we can't dwell on that now." Said Professor Turo.
"He's right, we have to focus on what's in front of us." She said.
With that, the professors walked ahead of the two and turned around.
"We need you to defeat us." Said Turo.
"What!?" Florian shouted in shock.
"You can't be serious." Said Juliana.
"We realize that this time machine is too dangerous. It has to be destroyed." Sada insisted.
"Okay, but why do we have to defeat you?" Asked Florian.
"Because the professors programmed us to defend the machine, basically at all cost. So once you attempt to destroy it we will be forced to attack you." Said Sada.
"This is why you needed to get stronger before coming here. Our pokemon are all at least at level 65. This battle won't be easy." Turo pointed out.
Florian looked at his pokeball. He then took out his level 100 Cinderace.
"Yes it will…" He said.
"…At least the battle will."
Because it was not going to be easy to destroy the two closest things that Arven had left to his human parents.
Thank you all who made it to the end.
May God bless you all.
