Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.
Let's get to it.
Rico: We'll see
us navy: True, but she also has better shields than normal, and they weren't expecting a large scale battle
MangoWango21: Nothing special. Pretty much the same as what they've done in reality
Chapter 31- Underworld
(October 20, 2049)
In the cockpit of his Pegasus transport, Calvin Adams watches as the ship drops out of hyperspace. And up ahead, he sees Tatooine coming into view.
Calvin has spent the war so far back on Earth fulfilling his duty as commander of TSOC and coordinating with the Joint Command to carry out special ops in both wars. However, with how badly the war against the First Order was going, Calvin had been requested by the Joint Command to undertake a very special mission that they hoped would help begin to turn the tide of war back in their favor.
As the Pegasus closes in on Tatooine, Calvin leaves the cockpit and heads into the back to prepare for entry into the atmosphere. He makes his way into the passenger bay, where several Delta Force commandos are strapped into their seats. Calvin sits down in one of the spare seats and straps himself in.
"We're starting our descent into Tatooine," Calvin informs the Deltas.
Everyone holds onto their straps as the Pegasus begins descending through the upper atmosphere of Tatooine, shaking a little bit from the air turbulence as it descends through the upper atmosphere. The turbulence passes rather quickly before it continues on its descent.
After about half an hour, Calvin feels the Pegasus begin to slow down. After another minute, he feels the ship shake slightly as it touches down.
"Alright, boys," Calvin says as he unstraps himself from his seat and stands up. He looks around at the Deltas and says, "Let's go. We've got a meeting to attend to."
The pilot shuts down the engines and opens up the back of the Pegasus. Calvin leads the way out of the transport, his hands held behind his back. He's wearing his camouflage, with his lightsabers on his belt and his assault rifle on his back. The six Deltas follow behind him in two lines of three men each, holding their assault rifles in the low ready position.
As they exit the Pegasus, the group looks at the massive building in front of them. The palace once owned by Jabba the Hutt. As they approach the doors, the massive gate leading into the palace begins to come up. After a few moments, the gate raises enough to let people walk out. Then, a moment later, Boba Fett comes walking out of the palace. He's fully dressed in his armor, which is showing some slight wear. Following right behind him is one of his right hands, the black-haired Wookiee named Krrsantan. Several Gamorrean guards are following behind them.
The two sides stop a few yards from each other. There's a few moments of silence before Boba speaks up, "Didn't expect to see you here, Adams."
"Well, I don't expect to be able to exactly make an appointment with you," Calvin responds. They had worked together helping Din Djarin all those years ago, but hadn't really spoken since.
"What are you doing here, Adams?" Boba demands, still unmoving.
"I'm here because I'm on orders from the Joint Command and I need to speak to you. And yes, we may have once worked together, but don't think if you end up being difficult that I won't kick your ass, even if I am 57," Calvin says, resting his hands on his sabers just in case. He knows Boba can be ruthless, even now, and doesn't want to take the chance that he might be too stubborn in the current climate.
Boba stands there for a moment longer before lowering his blaster from its low ready position. "Alright, Adams. You passed the test. Come on inside," he says in a more welcoming tone of voice before turning around and walking back into his palace. Calvin follows Boba in, his guards following behind him, on alert just in case.
Boba leads his guests through the corridors of the palace to his throne room where they find Fennec Shand waiting for them. Fennec is in her 70s now and doesn't serve much of a role in combat, instead serving more as Boba's right hand in an advisory and ambassador role.
"Calvin Adams," Fennec says in greeting.
"Fennec," Calvin greets her in return.
Suddenly, everyone hears a roar from below them. Fennec smiles a bit and says, "The rancor says hello as well."
"I heard," Calvin responds, cracking a slight grin.
Boba walks past them all and sits down on his throne. After looking at Calvin for a moment, he reaches up and removes his helmet, setting it on one of the arms of his throne. He clasps his hands together and looks at Calvin for a moment before he begins to speak, "It's been many years since I saw you Adams. What brings you back to my palace after all this time?"
"I'm here because the Alliance needs your help, Boba," Calvin says.
Boba is quiet for a moment before he responds, "I'm listening."
"Look, you're really grown your operation since we first worked together to help Djarin. Your organization is only rivalled by the Hutts now. So you know everything that is going on in this galaxy. You have eyes and ears across the galaxy. I know that you know everything that has been happening since the Hosnian Cataclysm, and not just to be able to take advantage of it for your own benefit," Calvin says.
"Of course," Boba responds simply.
"So, you know how badly the war has been going for us. About a third of the known galaxy is now under the control of the First Order, and they're still gaining ground. We are too busy with a war back home, and we can't devote enough resources to stop them for good. And we've lost too many key planets and the resources they provide. At this rate, we will lose most of the galaxy before they reach the point where they can no longer overcome our forces. But when we reach that point, we won't have enough of a footing to regain control of the galaxy," Calvin begins to explain.
"And you came here hoping to recruit me to your cause," Boba surmises aloud.
"Yes," Calvin responds. He pauses for a moment to gather his thoughts and prepare before continuing, "Look, Boba, we cannot commit the forces we need to win this was because that would mean stripping the resources we need on the front back home, which will leave our homeworld and other worlds of the Alliance desperately vulnerable against an enemy we are already struggling with. The Republic is broken and scattered, and the Resistance is not strong enough to turn the tide to allow us to regain the initiative. Without further support, our war effort will slow, the Resistance will not be able to grow, and the First Order will control the galaxy."
Calvin pauses again before he says, "Here's what I'm here to ask for. You use your criminal enterprise to provide Grand Admiral Page with the resources he needs to carry out the war, and agree to commit to resisting the First Order wherever possible. It is possible we may wish to hire you directly for certain jobs. We want you to commit to be willing to accept such a job if it ever comes."
"And in exchange? You know that I will not accept such an agreement and promise of alliance without guarantees of something in return. That's how things go in this world," Boba answers.
"The Alliance is prepared to offer you several concessions in exchange for a promise of alliance with your gotra. This includes full payment for goods you provide, promise of amnesty for your gotra for the duration of your alliance with us unless you break the terms of the deal, a fleet stationed over Tatooine to defend it and a promise to deploy a small garrison to Mos Espa should you request it. We are also willing to consider other reasonable requests," Calvin says.
Boba is quiet for a moment before he finally responds, "Adams, we may have had our differences in the past, and it's been a long time since we have spoken or seen each other. But i will not forget the role you and the Terran Alliance played in stopping the Pykes from taking over Tatooine and saving Mos Espa. That was a debt I still owe…and I must admit that your terms are preferable to what conditions I would face under the First Order."
Boba pauses for a moment, then says, "Very well. I accept the Alliance's terms. If I have further requests, you will hear them immediately, and I expect efforts be made to accommodate them."
"If they're not totally out of reason, yes," Calvin says.
Boba nods before he stands up and walks forward, stopping in front of Calvin. "Then, we have a deal, Adams. And, I may say, I hope the opportunity presents itself to fight alongside each other once more."
Calvin grins as he reaches out and clasps hands with Boba, sealing the new alliance between the Terrans and the Fett gotra, bit unaware it's not going to present as much of an advantage as they thought.
(Outer Rim)
In the midst of a darkened chamber, Snoke himself looks around at those he is speaking too. Snoke almost never makes these kinds of trips himself, sending either one of his top general such as Hux or sending Kylo Ren. However, he felt strongly that not only was this mission important enough to warrant him coming, but he stood the best chance of making it work. He did not trust his generals to be intimidating enough, or Kylo Ren to be smart enough.
"Your support will be critical to overcome the Terrans and the Resistance. And once we control the galaxy, the Hutt Cartel will flourish," Snoke says in his deep, chilling voice.
Gathered around him, the Hutt Council has been listening to Snoke's speech, listening carefully to the terms he is laying out.
"How do we know we can trust you? The Empire tried to work with us, but instead that caused the death of Jabba and the decline of our operations. If we follow you…" one of the Hutts begins to speak.
Fast as a nexxu, Snoke opens his hand and begins Force choking the Hutt. He then opens his other hand and uses the Force to restrain the other Hutts. The Hutts all feel a sense of alarm, given the Force is rarely effective against Hutts, and therefore knowing that must be a sign of incredible strength within the Force.
"Because, if you don't I will ensure none of you leave this room again, and my ship will lay waste to Nal Hutta from orbit," Snoke growls. His tone shows clearly he does not have the temperament to wait for any further negotiation.
The Hutt who spoke continues to choke as the others are racing through their options. Finally, the leader of the Council speaks up and says in Huttese, "Very well. We will accept your terms and your requests."
Snoke allows an evil smirk to cross his face. Now, with the Hutts supporting the First Order, things have gotten even better for his ambitions.
And, I'll end the chapter there.
So, of course, I wasn't going to keep Boba out of this story. Honestly, it was criminal for Disney to keep him out of the sequel trilogy. This will of course, not be the only time we see Boba in this story.
And yes, the Hutts are on the side of the First Order. It honestly doesn't make sense that they're not mentioned in any canon materials after the events of The Book of Boba Fett. They won't appear much, but their support will help the First Order keep up with the introduction of the Fett gotra.
Alright. Next chapter will be up soon. Until it is, please leave a review, and stay tuned!
