Naomasa Tsukauchi really hated his job sometimes. Sure, being a detective in the police force offered him the chance to help people even if he wasn't a hero, but there were parts of his job that he dreaded to accomplish: paperwork, dealing with pompous superheroes who believed themselves to be gods and untouchable, having to work with his superiors who think they are the best at their jobs when in reality the only thing they can do is keep the chairs warm and talk about nonsense. But the worst thing about his job was the responsibility of telling someone they loved has died.
…And in this moment he was about to shatter that little boy's world.
The kid was still in the chair the doctors left him when they took his mother, a last resort to see if could be saved, but he knew that it was impossible. The injuries left on her body were very severe, a deep wound on her belly and a few cuts on her arms. When a local hero called the police, they immediately searched the alley and the area around it, but the criminal had already escaped. From the evidence they gathered Inko Midoriya was stabbed in her torso, a knife quirk? possibly, there were red marks on her wrists, she struggled against the attacker, the only thing they failed to find was some kind of purse or a bag, the criminal must have stolen it after the act. So after looking for any more evidence they theorized that the criminal searched for an easy score, after he found it he tried to intimidate the victim, stopped her from escaping, and robbed the woman. The only thing that didn't match up were her injuries and how she got them. something must have happened in between that caused her death. The big problem now is finding what happened and the only people able to tell the truth were the one that they were searching and the dead looking child still sitting in that same chair staring at the floor.
Tsukauchi really hated his job sometimes.
(P.O.V Change)
Izuku was feeling numb at the moment. He couldn't breath, couldn't speak, couldn't think. It was all impossible. He was reliving the moment in his head. He can still hear the raspy voice stopping them, the tension rising in his mother frame, the bad feeling that something terrible was going to happen. And it did. At first he thought they were safe when the villain only took his mom's purse, but then he turned to Izuku himself. Even if he was kind of a reclusive, being the fact that kids his own age bullied him, everyone around his neighborhood knew that Inko Midoriya had a quirkless son. Everyone means that small-time criminals know that, and there were a few incidents in the past, mainly vandalism, but never it got far past that. Tonight really was his fault.
If only he could have hidden his injuries better, if only he could have a quirk…
If only he could have been useful instead of burden.
Now he didn't know what to do, would the police help him? Where would he go now, hopefully not with Kacchan's family, as much as he loved them, he couldn't burden them with his exystence.
Hopefully he could find a solution or he really was about to enter hell.
